Mavs Draft Rumors On Bronny James & Emmanuel Miller + Sign Mario Hezonja In 2024 NBA Free Agency?

[Music] got another episode of Mavericks today coming at you guys Harrison Graham Jeffrey cooperstein Uncle Nico Nico Harrison apparently is like an uncle to bronny James and reports out there Coupe that while the Lakers and Suns are the only two teams that have gotten workouts with Bonnie three other teams are pretty interested in drafting him in the Mavericks are one of those look I think the Situation’s kind of getting real there is concrete interest with bronny James and the Mavericks at 58 now is he going to be there at 58 I think that’s another story but I do believe that there is a real relationship there between Nico Harrison and the James family obviously uh Nico’s known LeBron for years and years when he was an executive at Nike and that transitions down to bronny to Bryce and to everyone else in the James family so it it’s definitely real interest at this point I think yeah I mean I think it’s pretty clear if bronny somehow was still there at 58 they would draft him I don’t think he will be the main reason is the Lakers are picking at 55 and unless LeBron kind of makes it clear that he’s going to leave Los Angeles then I just kind of think the Lakers would take him at 55 so I think if you’re the Mavs and if you’re interested in drafting bronny and perhaps you know swinging a LeBron acquisition somehow I think you got to get ahead of 55 like I think you’d have to trade up to before that selection and go get them here’s what you have to ask yourself is trading up from 58 ahead ahead of 55 for a guy that averaged less than five points a game played less than 20 minutes a game shot 27% from three in his one year in college basketball worth it I think it’s twofold I think one I’d say yes if you think it gives you a great chance of getting LeBron or B even if you’re not convinced you have a great chance what are you giving up like if I’m moving Tim and 58 to get 49 I probably don’t care like the the if I’m running the Mavs the jersey sales and putting him on your g-league team alone is probably worth it in a draft that’s uh considered pretty weak now imagine bronny James playing at the comer Center yeah exactly but I think my my point would like if I was running the team I would probably only do it if I thought it gave me a puncher chance at LeBron but even if that puncher chance is 20% it’s probably worth it even as long as you’re not giving up something crazy like again if you’re dumping a contract you don’t like in 58 to get to 50 like I mean even if you don’t get a LeBron I don’t think I’m losing sleep at night if that’s what gets you up uh to 50 for Brony get your comments and should the maps trade up for Brony James type y for yes type in for now I know it’s different situations but I it just brings me back to the whole satum sing thing where you’re drafting someone in the second round to try to do a favor to somebody uh to try to cater to someone else obviously it was DeAndre Jordan that time DeAndre Jordan still backed out of his commitment anyway so even if you trade up for bronny that doesn’t mean you’re getting LeBron by any means does it help your chances probably I think part of it for me too Coupe is like this is considered a pretty weak draft like if you’re confident you can get someone in that range that is a future rotation player then yeah don’t freaking do it but like if you’re not if you think that’s a one in six chance oh well Bron bronnie might be a one in eight chance it’s probably not that big of a difference so uh I I understand why teams in a team like Dallas could be appealed by this possibility now maybe they think a guy like Emanuel Miller at 58 could be a future rotation player this is next up on Mavericks today report coming out of the fort wor Star Telegram stevenh Johnson saying that uh tcu’s Emanuel Miller has a draft workout with the Mavericks today uh some of you guys know this my alma moer obviously so Coupe you’ve watched him a decent amount watching Big 12 Hoops I as well he got a he was a player that classic 5-year guy that just got better every year I think one thing that stands out to me and what stood out to me last year is he really worked on his three-point shot and shot a respectable clip at 38% he was easily tcu’s best player last year he’s got a pretty intriguing NBA frame I think he’s about 67 210 pounds so I think he’s got the frame and athleticism to to at least get interest from an NBA roster I think it would just come down to can he be you know a 36 38% three-point shooter in the NBA I think at 58 from an onc Court perspective this is probably proper range for him I think he’s a late second udfa type that gets a two-way type of deal with a team and has a chance to develop into maybe a deep rotation player yeah I’ve always been a big fan of Emanuel Miller I think that he has an NBA body for sure like you said 67 about 210 so he is definitely a wing that the Mavs could try to develop uh into something a little bit like they did with Dorian finny Smith and obviously the circumstances were very different but they both were you know kind of Raw coming out of college I do think Miller’s probably a little more polished than finy Smith was if he can shoot at that respectable clip like he did last season and he’s gotten better every year I think he could end up being a piece in the NBA at some point uh and at 58 you’re at this point you’re taking risks on guys because you just don’t know what you’re getting there I don’t mind to risk on Miller at 58 I got to tell you I think that intrigues me yeah I you know quick Scouting Report other than the frame and the stats we showed you like he’s got a good postup game now how much does that translate to the NBA against bigger bodies that you know that’s that’s questionable but he could finish with both hands uh in the post uh good mid-range game he’s always had that and like I said the last two years he worked on the three-point shot and shot pretty well last year so look it’s interesting I think he’s kind of a three four tweener I you know I think he’s probably an undersized stretch four and I don’t know if he quite has the foot quickness to be a to to be a great defensive three so I think he is a bit of a tweener in that regard but he’s a good athlete pretty good offensive game so you know it’ll be interesting I I I think you know get him in some summer league action see how he holds up uh I certainly I’ll say this if he goes undrafted the MAV should definitely pounce I I think that’s a guy who uh you could get on your summer league roster and could do some damage with so I’ll be interested I think that’s an interesting option at 58 speaking of the draft round two week from tonight uh that is when our Mavericks cover today 400 p.m. Eastern oh that’s right it’s 4 pm Eastern how could I forget uh NBA putting it in the afternoon on a Thursday um we’ll have it covered so uh whatever the Mavs do uh we will have it uh locked in here if they trade the pick if they make the pick if they move up we’ll be all over it so hit that subscribe button turn on notifications we will keep you in the loop I got to tell you it’s hard to believe the draft is week away the season just ended I mean think if this series went six or seven it’s always like finals ends draft a week less than a week later insane but because the draft is a week today make sure you get your MAV draft hats courtesy of our friends at Fanatics go to chatsports.com Mavs draft I like the look of the draft hats this year I got to tell you they’re hit and miss year to year I think these are pretty good um you got the flat bill the curve Bill fitted Snapback whatever your flavor is it’s all available chatsports.com /ms draft that link will be in the comments and in the description how about this Coupe uh good good find by you Shams tweeted this out and I think he made a pretty good kind of related connection based on something Dallas did last year Mario honia who mostly flamed out in the NBA but was obviously a former lottery pick has been playing in Real Madrid had a good year last year has reportedly garnering that NBA interest P sham Shir he’s got until July 19th to kind of basically op out and declare himself as someone who’s going to return to the NBA if not and he signs with the team after July 19th basically uh he would have to buy himself out of Real Madrid’s contract so if he’s going to come over we’ll probably know in the next month um he’s always been a guy that his profile Coupe is someone who should be able to be a good shooter which is what he did this year uh in Europe shooting 40% from three um listen this this is interesting I mean it if if a guy like markee Morris doesn’t return if you want to take a chance on hono as your 14th 15th guy obviously you had great success with that with Dante exom this past year CP maybe you do a similar one plus one where the second Year’s a team option and see what happens yeah I don’t hate it at all and the reason I like the Mario honia thing is because he’s 68 he’s got decent size and if he continues his good shooting like he did this year with Real Madrid uh it would be a another bargain fine by Nico Harrison in the Mavs he never really put it together in the NBA played uh for a few teams the Knicks Orlando and Portland uh here’s a I mean very modest stats less than 32% from three in his NBA career 330 games played so he’s been around the block a little bit I think he’s a guy that if the Mavs are looking at trying to find you know offensive upgrades maybe for for a cheap price he’s going to be a guy that they take a look at I really believe that yeah I mean I like his s like like you said his size like I think this team could use another shooter off the bench I mean you’d like to sign someone with a little more I get NBA credibility but you you found success with Dante exom so like it’s not like it can’t happen and he’s played in the NBA and look I think sometimes too Coupe these these International guys like they come to the NBA and they’re just not ready for the lifestyle change they’re not ready for the basketball change like your European Hoops versus the NBA is not the same game like it’s it’s it’s a lot more half coure x’s and o’s driven in Europe uh uh compared to the NBA uh I think a guy like this has the skill set to have success in the NBA so we’ll see it would it wouldn’t cost you much so uh I I would have some interest I mean the Mavs have had success with these type of moves before yeah they absolutely have they they’ve did it with maxi kba back in the day they they did it with Dante exom they did it with uh there’s another guy who I can’t think of uh they did it kind of with Kemba I guess but Kemba was in Europe and then came back they they’ve done this before and they’ve had success with it so I I would be interested honestly if if he was on the Mavericks radar I really would let us know what you guys think should they sign honia type best for sign or P for pass uh we’ll certainly monitor that situation as we will everything else surrounding this team so like we said subscribe draft uh six days a week or six days away uh round two a week away so we’ll have it all covered between now and then rency right after that so coverage will continue here on Mavericks today see you soon [Music]

The 2024 NBA Draft is a week away and the Mavs hold the 58th pick! Mavericks draft rumors to this point have largely focused on Bronny James, but a new Bronny report came out when his agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports said Mavericks GM Nico Harrison is “like an uncle” to Bronny. Harrison has known LeBron James for a long time through their Nike partnership, but does that mean the Mavs will draft Bronny and sign LeBron James in 2024 NBA Free Agency? Not Necessarily, but it’s something to monitor. Another name to watch during NBA Free agency is NBA veteran Mario Hezonja who played the last few seasons with Real Madrid. After strong season in Europe, could the Mavericks take another chance on someone like they did with Dante Exum? We’ve got you covered with the latest rumors and news on today’s show!

  1. I want Austin Reaves to Mavs, but i think that will never happen. Imagine Dončic, Irving and Reaves as a Trio.

  2. Players for the Mavericks to take a flyer on at 58: Bogoljub Markovic, Mantas Rubstavicius, Dordije Jovanovic, Luitauras Lelevicius, Boris Tisma, Yongxi "Jacky" Cui, Pavel Savkov, or Ruben Prey

  3. Mavericks should sign Vit Krejci to the mid-level exception. Then sign Luke Kornet or Ryan Arcidiacono to a veteran deal. The other free agents the Mavericks would need to trade players to free up cap space.

  4. I really hope this shtick is just a filler video, because you have to post something.
Bronny doesn't make this team better and adding LeBron would cost more than the gain.
