you know something big is going to happen maybe I’ll bust out a little uh we’ve got update you know like just we’re going to have some fun tonight what why are you looking at me like that you’re just so you you are such a different human being it’s very interesting I I mean the I’m not joking to give the I wish I like recorded some of the behind the scenes today how many times have you gotten up from this chair many times to go pee to eat food this is The Situation Room tonight we are monitoring what is happening around the NBA yeah I’ve been to the command center waiting to see if anything is happening around the league and yes last night when I was in the command center what did we find out Mel Bridges headed to the New York Knicks we know about that deal the Knicks weren’t done Morgan we found out this afternoon OG anobi is agreeing to a new deal he gets a lot of coin 5 years $212 million from the New York Knicks they’re going all in with this group the villain NOA Knicks plus a little OG what’s going to happen with Julius Randle could he be on the move tonight we will find out and how about a trade that just happened Morgan Reagan the wizard surprised some people they trade Denny ABIA who’s just 23 years old to the Portland Trailblazers in exchange for Malcolm Brogden the 14th pick in this year’s draft Yeah a future first round pick in 20129 and two second round picks we’re all over it tonight baby oh all over injected in my veins yep it’s injected I know I understand this going to be a long show we’re going to be hanging out having a good time we’re going to have some guests along the way yeah pral who has been our draft expert for years for years it’s now 18 years old now now it’s like let’s be real like okay he’s an adult now not as cute it’s so cute it was way cuter when he was like hi I’m I’m 15 I’m a little draft nerd what’s crazy what he’s 18 sounds the same and he’s going to Cal he’s going to he’s going to be with us tonight breaking down picks as they roll through he’s a future NBA GM if he wants it he could be above it you know he may be like I’m good I’ll just enjoy it he’s been locked in with these college prospects he will offer his opinions on the picks as they come through tonight also Bobby Gerald from hoop obsession. will be joining us live after the Sacramento Kings pick if they make the pick at 13 will the Kings stick at 13 will they look to move I feel like you read the mock drafts everyone’s got a little blurb about each team and everyone’s like well you know the Kings could go several directions here they could use some Wing help but they could maybe trade this or they could be taking an older guy in draft they could also move down no one knows what the hell the kings are doing and um I have just kind of accepted Morgan Reagan that they’re just going to pick someone there and if something happens fine I’m just not going to set expectations I feel like sometimes I go into these things I’m like they’re GNA make a move and it doesn’t happen and I feel so down yeah and oh you’re just you in your 30s are just realizing this at this this NBA draft you’re having this Epiphany you’re going to make this change all of a sudden hey hey hey enjoy the ride with me everybody in the chat if if you are in the chat tonight hit the Thumbs Up And subscribe we’ll be here all night long the other thing that we need to figure out as a group together it’s a debate we have every single year during this draft show okay you guys are watching this using an internet connection no [ __ ] right or so you mean there’s a you’re on the internet correct you’re on your phone correct you probably have alerts from Wes and Shams on and I still know some people maybe have you know dual screens going with the ESPN broadcast andoun later um on like a laptop or whatever my point is I’ve been more the type that’s as soon as we find out the pick comes in from Shams or w we talk about it we talk about it yeah and some people don’t like that do we do that I think this is a year to do that I think last year we didn’t didn’t we try to wait I I don’t remember I think we’ve gone back and forth on it and people get mad you’re spoiling it I’m like dude it’s out there and we should just talk about it we’re all hang now otherwise what’s going to happen is I’m watching on YouTube TV we’re going to click over and I’ll be listening to the audio finding out together but then delayed some of you know I don’t know I don’t know you’re putting it in the chat and then and then it’s like it’s not special anyway so yeah um oh everyone it’s mixed I’m telling you it’s mix people are saying we talk about it talk about it as it comes in all right oh I just all got to wait hey Jonathan how about how do we sway you on that that’s something yeah o um can we sell you I do feel anxious I do feel anxious because I’m seeing the activity around the league even this this trade that just happened with Portland and Washington I didn’t think Denny abdio was available I was actually really surprised Washington was motivated to move someone because one Denny abdia is a talented player in this league yep he’s under club team control for a long time I was looking at his contract it goes down every single year it’s like 15 14 13 11 yeah he’s 23 years old he’s shown the talent they move off of him and I understand getting some picks back in the fut tonight and then 29 but I I just don’t know why they’re motivated to do that I like that move for Portland I would have loved to see Denny in Sacramento uh sure I mean you say you would have loved to see it again I I think I’m to the point whenever we talk about Sacramento is um even if it’s not realistic I want a guy that’s going to move the needle um we keep talking about why even when Slater and Sam Amit came out with that piece and they talked about the kings were actively willing to trade the 13th pick for an established player all those different things and I am very down to go in that direction but like I don’t want to go in that direction if it’s just like adding adding some good depth adding some good star for you that’s how I look at it and that yeah okay yeah now but but it does open up other question questions right I mean you start at the four he’s young I’m not acting like he’s a star or anything but I’m like dude this guy’s young he does a lot of things that you would want he’s a pretty skilled player he’s got great size he’s got good feel for the game he plays good defense in addition to that his contracts really Team friendly yeah now I’m not acting like they got him for free they did give some stuff too right to get him but I was just a little surprised I’m like I didn’t think that guy was available I thought if I’m Washington building this out I’m going hey who do I want to move I’m more likely trying to move kozma if someone would take Jordan pool you know like but why are you more likely to move kozma he has such a great contract um he does no for sure but I’m just talking about as big picture-wise it’s a Wizard’s team that is Young I’m trying to build this out I want young Talent on the team that’s someone who I like there but maybe he wanted out and they were trying to you know do him a favor yeah I don’t know I don’t know what it is I I guess I think there’s some people out there and you guys can tell me if this is truly how you feel I think some people just really want to see Act and not like the oh the almost trade oh they almost did it that was so great you know how many times do that happen um and I think after seeing how much Mel Bridges was worth you are now seeing and this is this is what you and I talked about last night I said to you I said you’re like God that really is a lot blah blah I’m like that’s what you got to pay that’s what you got to pay in the NBA I understand it but I think we can all acknowledge that hey that seems like a good move for the Knicks Bridges is a talented player yeah he obviously Vibes they all those guys are best friends forever that’s all q and he’s just he’s going to help them right and they were able to sign OG still but we can also acknowledge they gave up a lot to get someone who by the way has never been an All-Star typically those type of packages get you someone who’s been established as an All-Star in this league that has done it the Nicks see a path here and they’re going we don’t give a [ __ ] about that we’re trying to win a Championship here and if we believe we need Wings we need Wings we got Bridges we got OG that means we’ve got guys that could defend multiple positions have the length we got Brunson who’s a stud Josh Hart’s been fun yeah dud and exactly I mean they they feel like they’re right there I mean after what they accomplished last year why wouldn’t you believe that as well right and especially another year under their belt and especially if uh they get the OG deal done and everything I mean you’re you’re talking about the the let’s talk wingspan I mean that entire roster like all team first wait First Team all wingspan yeah there we go and uh it it makes sense a lot of it makes sense now this was a rumor that we can talk about when Stephen A this morning on first take started talking about Katie and was like Katie wants out and the Houston Rockets want to find a way to basically get Kevin Durant and not exactly what they said well not exactly but my whole my whole point to this and I’m going back to what I was just saying about like like like why you have to pay a lot for players if you believe you’re in that situation well what we started hearing throughout the day that the Rockets were like no no no we’re not in a like ke we’re not in a place to just like add Kevin Durant and then like Hey we’re a championship team in the west like you got to understand where you’re at and I think now going back to my whole point going back to the Sacramento Kings and where they have dearn fox domas sabonis in their Prime Keegan Murray you’re hoping that he takes this huge leap in year three after what he showed so much promise on both ends of the floor last year you resign Malik you have your coach under contract it it’s like I that’s why I’m like yeah no go get it I don’t care mortgage some of the future I don’t give a [ __ ] anymore like let’s go this front office has been pretty conservative so it’s like okay what but what is that move what’s the swing you know after Stephen A Smith’s report and it it was interesting on first take today because the way he framed it was like yes I am reporting this not like I’m here and sometimes he throws he’s like I am reporting this Kevin Durant doesn’t want to be in Phoenix and don’t believe the Suns they are open to moving him he said yeah the Rockets they actually don’t want him Oka does the Rockets don’t necessarily want him you did a much better job paraphrasing what he said great job and so right when that happened this morning you know me I’m in the command center I’m I’m going hey go get Kevin Durant how do you do it he’s got two years left 100 plus million I don’t care figure out a way to get it done I don’t care Oh but he’s never happy the guy’s a stud in the half he’s gone through injuries and he still puts up big numbers I love the guy um but then Matt ishia the owner goes on the social media today and says NBA draft night is the best everyone talking about the drama and storyline some are right and some are just wrong my turn Phoenix loves Kevin Durant Kevin Durant loves Phoenix and we are competing for a championship this year because we have the team to do it got love draft night go Suns can I be honest as soon as he said my turn it just gave me the major like you’re so insecure oh I love it I love you know what I love is sometimes these these reporters pop off and if you’re if you’re telling the truth go out there and say actually no that you’re wrong I get it want more he could have just said all that without my turn and I would have been like my I like it it’s a good strong tweet my turn come on weird nonetheless it sounds like Kevin Durant is not available so that’s off the board but there’s a lot of questions around the league like okay who’s trying to move up tonight we’ve heard a lot talk about Memphis trying to move up we’ve heard talk about Brandon Ingram where is he going to end up in the final year of his deal does he get moved tonight is this a draft night thing the thing we get so caught up to with draft night is like oh there’s G be trade trade trade trade yeah there could be trades for sure on draft night but sure we do have free agency coming up it’s just next couple of weeks should be a lot of fun in the NBA sh could look a lot different think about what we don’t know tonight Paul George’s future there’s been talk today about Paul George and how the Golden State Warriors would love to give him a four-year max deal who by the way Paul George 34 years old has had injuries Golden State’s like we love him we’ll give him a four-year max if we could work out like some sort of deal that’s insane yeah y right and they would have to move some things what’s Klay Thompson’s future the latest with Klay Thompson is the Orlando magic or the betting favorites to Lan Clay Thompson in free agency where the Sixers fit in all this they just watched the Celtics win it all they just watch the Knicks go to another level meanwhile they’ve got embiid under contract they’ve got like three guys under contract tyres Maxi is restricted they’ve got money to spend but who wants to go there what’s James Harden going to do is he back with the Clippers there’s just so much that can change over the next couple of weeks I can’t wait yeah a l a lot a lot can change and I don’t know I feel like last year was very eye openening in the Western Conference um and seeing how much you really need and you have to do to get out of the western conference right to get in the playoffs that’s and to get into the playoffs and and with that I understand some teams that feel like they’re in a position to be super aggressive whether it’s making trades whatever it is tonight Andor in free agency paying a lot for certain guys and when I say paying a lot that could be future assets that could be money what whatever it may be like I think more than ever it’s like you’re going to see more GMS more organizations be irrational about certain it’s the same thing we said about PJ Washington at the trade deadline I I think that’s what’s crazy about these picks so we’ve seen so many picks thrown around over the last few years you think about the Nets well the Nets just did a reset the Nets not only traded Bridges and got that compensation they made that weird deal with the rockets that got them their pick back from the Harden deal so they’re like okay we’re in a much better spot now right and then Houston what are they trying to do they’ve got some Suns ammunition the Suns picks and they’re like oh Phoenix do you want to work with us on Booker or Durant it’s crazy but to your point the Rockets are looking to be aggressive it seems like what are they going to try to do now what kind of Swing are they going to take you think about Portland just added I mean they’re not a true threat what’s San Antonio GNA do Golden State I I think the Warriors for right or wrong look at like this last year Draymond missed a ton of games he missed some ton we still won 46 games with Draymond being suspended in that weird like indefinite suspension where he’s away from the team or whatever they still won 46 games so in their head they’re like hey we get Paul George to this group make a couple of tweaks we stay healthy we’re going to be in the thick of things yeah no and I mean again you can’t count out Steph Curry until he shows that you can like really count him out right I I think he shows year after year I know they lost to the kings in the plan and it felt like the king’s Championship that was so fun I don’t give a [ __ ] what anyone says that was such a joy um but at the same time like you said with the right tweaks to the roster still having that man in the NBA and playing um and still obviously striving for a championship in the Western Conference it’s like yeah one thing I didn’t want to forget about you mentioned me earlier about Al shenon too and I want to make sure yeah there’s just I don’t know what to believe right now I mean there’s so many rumors out there on social media and it’s like at one point it’s like hey the Rockets are kind of like uh or like udoka is not a big shenon guy because of the defense he’s he’s 21 he’s pretty pretty epic it’s pretty good um so who knows what the hell Houston’s trying to do the big picture is this the West is going to be really good again this year is Memphis about to make some noise tonight that’s a little scary what the Pelicans going to do with Ingram you mentioned the Rockets the Warriors those are just teams that are kind of around the Kings that’s not even talking about the teams who are still ahead you know ahead of Sac so the pressure is on and that’s where the 13th pick tonight becomes so fascinating from Sacramento standpoint it’s like what direction do you go here th this draft I think a lot of people going into are like oh this draft sucks it’s going to be one of the weakest drafts The more I’ve watched some of these players in this draft the more I go there’s some good players here there maybe players who can help you now but there are also players you could take a swing on and be patient with but if you’re Sacramento does it make more sense you keep the 13th pick and Shop the 28 pick or the a pick outside of that to make a move and then in addition you draft someone at 13 a night or are you going crazy and shopping them all I’m fascinated to see what happens the reality is something you went back to Fox sabonis are you maximizing their Windows what are you trying to do here because status quo is not going to get you anywhere if you do not make the Right Moves this off season if you you don’t aim to improve your roster and work on the shortcomings that you had last year the kings are going to be playing or Worse that’s all there is to it and in the tweaks I I again I remember last year I was excited about the small tweaks that were being made even last year um I was optimistic I guess I shouldn’t say excited I was optimistic um I understood the whole Chris DTE great human being by the way I understood the whole angle behind Chris DTE and that he played one of his best seasons around sabonis in Indiana so why not bring him here let’s see what he can do um Sasha V zenov I mean a EUR League MVP sometimes you just never know how that game’s going to translate also different opportunities different minutes all the different things javelle McGee that voice someone being vocal in the locker room on the floor but like when you’re not seeing the floor a lot that’s something I always tell you I’m like you have to have that voice that is also getting those minutes as well so again I understood the idea behind some of these moves but like you don’t get another chance to like really kind of screw it up and just have the oh we thought they were going to work out like you have to have the assurance and I understand you might not have the Assurance with who you pick at 13th if that’s the direction they go but at the same time you better figure out the right tweaks around dear and fox because he also isn’t re or he’s not EXT signing the extension but not just because of that there’s it’s a business decision as well he can make more money all the things but um but yeah he wants to make sure that Sacramento is doing the right things around him shout out to everyone hanging out with us live tonight it’s going to be a fun journey together give me a hell yeah we will get through this together appreciate you guys being here um get through this Sagar in the chat Morgan you giving Deuce buckets was legit oh thank you I know you you know G that was so fun I it we just we went out to Roosevelt Park and I was shooting the [ __ ] out of the basketball in that first game so Deuce was giving me a little space I’m making it over him and everything by the way and and let me just say this I think Duce was getting so mad because one time he like he just totally not I didn’t like cross him over but he ate [ __ ] like going after a basketball and I was like are you okay he was like yeah you [ __ ] that’s what he got up and said to me I was like who oh somebody’s pissed and then that’s not exactly what happened yeah it is this I slip okay I’m going after a loose ball and I slip the the cord’s slippery we’re we’re playing outside dirt whatever I slip she go are you okay like I like I’m like some bumbling idiot out there I don’t know what I’m doing I just s whoa yeah you dick I’m fine that’s what it was and like this is what’s so funny what’s so funny about the video montage Morgan put out right is it starts with me absolutely with a beautiful chase down I’m getting back in transition sprinting my ass off I blocked someone’s shot sh oin in Discord hey with my left not left-handed I’m there making plays I scream by the way grab that ball I push now we don’t even mention the fact that when I pushed got the ball ahead got the ball back might have blown the layup that doesn’t matter he did blow the layup okay but here’s the reality then Morgan puts all these plays of the first one I gave her a little bit of space she hit a shot okay yeah she should I give her some space I’m going to keep her honest a little bit I should know better I should play up but again we’re playing pick a ball the next one my teammate needed to switch out he needed to switch out I switch he goes and cuts to the basket leaving Morgan wide ass open three ball bang it’s like okay the next the left side that was next one you just hit a you you’re on fire that’s nothing I could do and you tip your cap but then what you don’t see for some reason the phone must have fallen to the ground whoever was recording it dropped it and didn’t do any like weird lost footage where she was like my dad locked up locked the [ __ ] up she could she couldn’t touch the ball he dude it was such [ __ ] he denied me the game two and game three game four we ended up being on the same team together so then when we were in the pick and roll action with us we’re like we murder like no one can stop that action but game two and three yes you denied me the basketball I couldn’t do anything and I didn’t need to show the people that we were having fun watch watching me just be on fire I appreciate you guys being with us as we talk about our a pickup game so fun it’s been fun playing pickup basketball on weekends uh at Park um 13th pick there’s a lot of talent here and we’ll preview it a little more with perneel in just a few minutes too uh as the Draft starts at 5 o’clock we’ll be here for the first round it’s weird tonight right you’ve got night one and then tomorrow day two the second round moves to day two used to be all in one night I do like the idea that it’s not all one night because that’s exhausting we’ve done many of these streams like 12 hours long it breaks up but it’s weird that tomorrow at 1 is the second round of the draft going to be interesting to see how that unfolds because everyone you know ESPN’s going to be like bronny watch where is bronny well bronny watch has already started even for tonight because they just they just don’t know and it’s so it’s so interesting when they are talking about this person because they’re not talking necessarily about his game and you can tell like in some ways that they want to but they’re also like you know he shot 26% from three but I mean this is a guy that also was coming back from whatever happened what you’re falling into the Trap of talking about himing sorry sorry guys for tonight day one of the draft night one Kings picking at 13 okay um like I said earlier it trying to figure out who the Kings like dude some of the they’ve released a lot of name I shouldn’t say they’ve released names names have been leaked out whether it’s agents or the team of players that they have worked out and it’s been a wide range range had Zack Ed in last week Zack Edie a very polarizing name when it comes to the NBA draft you know what Zack 80 is gonna be a solid player in this league he is 74 and people look at him and go oh he can’t play yeah he actually moves a lot better than people give him credit for and I don’t know how much stock I’m putting into the three-point shooting at the NBA draft combine but his movement I’m like he looked comfortable shooting the ball from three I understand the challenges that come with him as a player in terms of like hey you get him in the pick and roll what’s that g to look like when he’s in drop coverage what’s how’s he gonna move when they attack him all definite concerns for sure he’s going to be able to play now him at 13 for Sacramento I I’m not in love with that idea just from the standpoint I just feel like you’re drafting a backup center you got sabonis and unless sabonis is coming back as some mobile stretch four launching threes left and right knocking them down mhm they not they’re not really playing together no and I think looking for that for valuable depth there’s there’s a lot of importance to that right um but at the same time I think when you look around the league and as you got deeper and deeper into the postseason 2 you saw how much like the skill players were seeing a lot of time on the floor and just added so so much in some of these big pigs are getting played off the floor uh even in the situation with Minnesota get it’s it just depending on matchups there’s some matchups where it’s like holy [ __ ] they did everything right it made s go bear and cat together it all made sense and then there’s moments where it’s like oh um goar you know the way that they are bringing goar out and he’s going and drop coverage and someone’s just hitting a midi on him all these little things so I see so much importance with like skilled players in this draft and long players in this draft and how many times are we gonna talk about wingspan tonight because we should talk about it at least a hundred times but I do see the importance in wingspan especially when you look at a team now like the Knicks Zach Ed is like a 7-Eleven wingspan I’m talking wingspan perimeter wingspan maybe Zack Ed is a beast dude I like him great he the the comp that I don’t remember who who dropped the comp on Zach Ed but I did like the bigger Zub Bots like dude Sol player man yeah no imagine if he started launching threes if that was his gimmick he’s launching threes I guess in transition’s a problem can he keep up with the speed of the NBA I’m Ru for the guy because I think so many people look at him like there’s no way this guy can exist in today’s League oh I disagree with that I’m more I’m more just that was me being Kings focused no I hear you some of the Kings ones well they worked them out they did work out Zach Edy Ron Holland g-league ignite uh some of the mock drafts have him going to Sacramento he’s an intriguing Prospect and we we we’ll talk to Bobby Gerald later tonight but Bobby Gerald for hoop obsession. comom does his like big rankings where it’s not a mock draft he ranks all the players he’s got Ron Holland number one my thing with Ron and it’s my thing with really some of these prospects in the draft is just like if you can’t shoot in the league how do you make it and at this point the three-point shooting hasn’t been there for Ron Hollin uh at least in the G League last year but I know you w you watched him and you were like dude you love what he does in transition intensity yeah size yeah the wingspan uh he’s able to deflect get his hands in the passing Lane on the defensive end stay vertical and he’s still so young so think about if he’s put into the right situation and is just like uh soaking in all this knowledge of how to become better and better especially at the age that he is at and then you go to the offensive end he’s still crafty enough to I guess if he’s moving without the basketball to find a way to finish at the rim and then in transition it’s like you’re just not going to stop him which is a beautiful thing um is this king’s team looking to still push the the Pace push the ball where like that would be such uh a dominant Force for them in transition an Unstoppable force in transition maybe but I think too it is scary when they liable when it or their liability when it comes to not being able to shoot the basketball in today’s NBA yeah and then you have players in this drafts who are just lights out Shooters but you’re like yeah but can they do this like Jared McCain from Sacramento the guy could shoot the shell the ball but you go is he going to be able to hang on the floor and defend at the next level in the NBA everyone Raves about Jared McCain’s leadership his character oh just such a good guy but then we just get the size issue right he can shoot the [ __ ] out of the ball though yeah I’m obsessed with him I’m obsessed I’m obsessed with him and I I think I became a little bit more obsessed watching him on the the red carpet leading up to the draft and obviously his fashion Choice absolutely stunning The Painted Nal just a man that is so secure with himself like that is the the the confidence that he has to cool can he play basketball at the next level that’s what I care about I don’t care about that’s cool he’s comfortable in his own skin he dresses well can this guy play in big moments in the NBA Morgan Reagan that’s what I want to know tonight League fits he would be number one that Reed sheeper from Kentucky could be a top three guy shot over 50% from three-point land disgusting one of my personal favorites and most people would say he makes zero sense for the Sacramento Kings especially considering they brought Malik monk back yeah is Rob Dillingham can I just say I I don’t even know if he’s going to be gray at the next level all I know is this guy is such an exciting player to watch why wouldn’t he be though like he he talk about someone guy but that’s okay I weigh 165 lbs I weigh 165 lbs but I can break your ankles and somehow get by you and if I can’t finish at The Rim who’s going to be open for a spray three and he could shoot he can he’s crafty there’s a lot to like there and even defensively he does compete but you run into some of the same issues right yeah can’t who’s he guarding at the next level yeah well I I think you know but God his handles are like I was reading NBA the NBA had this like a draft media guide and they asked some of the players their favorite players and Rob Dillingham was asked his favorite player he said Kobe his favorite Kentucky Wildcat Malik monk I was like I you see the similarities in their game bounce I mean he is just so bouncy out there on the floor um and that’s fun and I I think but but yes I’m not I I I think watching the Kings lose to the Pelicans six time correct six times last season you really really got to see their flaws and when they were playing against a long team and even for dear Fox de like de here’s like hey hi I can’t you know what’s funny I can’t do it all like especially when someone’s long herb Jones whoever that is defending me and it’s just harder for me to get by like they take up more space like it it just imagine those big old guys in the Pelicans trying to defend Dillingham coming at them huh they could Good Luck Good Luck they could he’s 6 foot 165 lbs God yeah I I I hear you on that it it’s just a philosophy thing too right if you’re the Kings because we this is like the biggest cliche when it comes to draft is like do you draft for need or do you draft the best player available you you got to get a player right like it’s also tough going God how do you walk away from tonight if you’re picking at 13 and not addressing the wing position if you’re Sacramento whether that’s via trade or that is with the pick how are you not trying to address that tonight and it’s a clear weakness of this team yeah but they also have plenty of weaknesses sure and a lot of teams have weaknesses there’s not a perfect team out there um it’s just it’s tough when you don’t have there’s certain teams out there that have multiple or two one two three tier one players uhoh the Brooklyn Nets have stay busy of course they trade Bridges yesterday they trade all those picks well it looks like they are reigning Nick Claxton to a 4year $100 million deal he is returning to the Brooklyn Nets four years1 million get yours a 96 of that is guaranteed according to Shams chirania well good for Nick claxon uh another guy off the board that’s the one that’s you know the one kind of crazy thing now with this change in free agency is you’re able to talk to your own free agents I like that prior to the start of free agency no it just means that like free agency day could get kind of boring like it who all these guy oh Malik’s done siakam’s done OG’s done Claxton what’s give it I need some stuff to talk about on June 30th oh my God it’s not about $25 million a year for claing that just seems like a lot it it but that’s where we’re at in the NBA 25 years old 25 is the new or the old like 9 million a year huh 25 mil yeah if you make like under 20 mil and you’re an NBA player you’re broke like by today’s standards it is it is so interesting when you do look at some of these contracts and how things adjust over time and that’s why when you see maybe a a tradable piece that has a Team friendly contract sure you want to go in that direction but at the same time Deuce I think like we’re we’re getting to a point where everyone has to spend their money mortgage their future it depends on where you’re at if you want to stay in the like the Kings they’re in this spot where they’re they’re like oh instead of being the middle we’re like we’re on we can be more on the rise but we have to make change like you have to make change a question what and we could post it to the live chat as well we’ll get to the super chats too thank you um the Blazers just added Denny ABIA in a trade all right 23 years old does that mean they’re they’re shopping someone like Jeremy Grant who makes a lot of money I said last year when he got signed by the Blazers like he got that much money he’s not a young man anymore but you know I’ve been on the Jeremy Grant train for I feel like 3 to four years now I loved how he his role he he played in Denver I love that he bet on himself he could have gotten the same money in Denver I like to go to Detroit so he could show what he can do that turned into another deal he gets in Portland but you think about him at the four SP spot the length the versatility of being able to defend a couple of positions I like Jeremy Grant how old is he now because I feel like every I mean it’s lot of money every time we were talking about a lot of money yeah 30 okay um he’s 30 man see I can go back in the the day where there was a a stretch of my life where it’s like man I would love Aon a Flo on the Kings and then by the time the Kings got Aon AO that it wasn’t Aon AO anymore no I mean it was but you know like the old version Oh that nice I would have lik that six years ago that’s what I worry about I know no and I think I think with Jeremy Grant like for a lot of people 30 is like in their Prime still though you know what I mean like it just depends depends on what’s their contract uh and how much are you actually paying this person for how much longer and for him yeah expensive but if you trust that he could help move the needle in the Western Conference which he I think paired with this squad I absolutely think he would I absolutely think it would make the defensive end better I think having another person that I mean he can get a bucket no and so it’s that and he’s a good three-point shooter what I what I do love about J what I’ve I’ve always been a fan of his because of how he came into this league as a raw ass Prospect and he turn like if you go back and look at his college numbers he didn’t take threes at all like non shoot he was like an athlete and then he continued to work on his game and turned into a really productive player who made a lot of money now how do we feel that since let’s see like 2020 2021 you’re the games 54 games 47 games 63 games 54 games he’s also played on teams that have tapped out early yeah you know in the season and he gets he gets the he’s he’s got a sore right whatever was Detroit and Portland that’s the thing he has had some legit injuries along the way to some concussions yeah so know how that is let’s get to a Super Chat uh Josh donates 10 bucks appreciate you give me a hell yeah thank my stock on Ed is very high I think we need a defense to stwart one of the more interesting things I’ve heard is that we might make a trade for beef stew Isaiah Stewart from Detroit I mean he had some toughness he’d fight somebody um no I I’m not even disputing that I I mean I think Ed could help the Kings for sure I just taking him at 13’s tough for me especially with some of the other players that could be in in that window you know it’s like what role are you if you Draft Zack Ed at 13 What role is he playing in Sacramento next year I well back up big to sabonis you’re not playing him and sabonis together and you’re that at that point you’re looking to still develop and you believe in your internal development for years to come and I personally I love I love going in that direction I’m a very not patient in all aspects of life but when it comes to basketball I’m very patient and the only thing that pushes me to not be patient are you guys and when you guys start bitching to me about like not enough enough that that and then like it gets in my head a little bit like are they not doing enough but then I go back to my basketball days and you remember like what makes a good basketball team and I get it the NBA is more of a business it’s not just basketball anymore and some some front offices aren’t going to have the same leash so there is no patience involved because they’re going to lose their jobs if they don’t hurry [ __ ] up and that’s I always get get worried here in Sacramento just over the 16y year playoff drought you know where it was just so much bad basketball and there’s so much turnover it’s still I’m still triggered it still all scares me so it’s like yeah I never know what’s going to happen and I get if you have to fall under the same it’s a business got to do your thing otherwise everyone’s going to lose their job appreciate everyone hanging out with us tonight it’s still early too we’re going to have some fun watching the NBA draft together um I’m going to just see if our guy is here oh pil is ready to go my god um let’s see here let’s make sure it’s all good on my end let’s turn him up uh look at his shirt there is our guy pril pril how are you tonight can you hear us um I’m doing great okay um but it’s very early in the morning so I’ve been awake for about three hours and so you guys need to know first things first peral this is the first time we are sharing your last name because you were a minor in previous Adventures of the NBA draft for the audience and for me pronounce your name so I don’t mess it up uh pral celap celap celap pil chellapilla 18-year-old on his way to Cal Berkeley but you know where he is tonight this guy is a Madman mad this guy tonight is coming to us from India he is on a little family vacation in India what time is it in India it is I’m think it’s 5:116 a.m. you are too to uh you are sick just like deuce you are a sick human being and I get it though it’s the NBA draft it’s an exciting time but before we get there too congratulations on on Berkeley we are so so happy for you so proud of you that’s amazing thank you so much yeah it was honestly a huge relief for a second I thought I’d be going out all the way to Indiana for college and then got the Berkley accepted so only two hours away from two hours away from two hours away from home hell yes well we’re excited for you and we’re excited for you to be with us throughout the night talking NBA draft um you are obsessed with basketball you’re obsessed with the draft how are you feeling headed into this draft let’s start with the Sacramento Kings at 13 and some of the possibilities there do you think they have a chance to get someone pretty impactful yeah um there’s three guys that I really like well I’d say four um braon Holland is my number two guy on my big board he is honestly amazing um defensively he will transform this team with his activity defensive playmaking Talent the athleticism um he’s like I would say the opposite of a Harrison Barnes he needs to add more onto his Fram he’s not as strong but the athleticism the ability to play at that low man position the instincts are all incredible he’s fantastic on ball I think he has a talent to be an all defensive player in the future um and then offensively there are concerns with the shooting but he’s a really really underrated cutter he didn’t play with like an offensive Hub really he didn’t play with the point guard in G League he was the main Creator actually but cutting talent and his ability to find spots recognize movement off the basketball would be really impactful in Sacramento and I think with that Talent with that ability he would play from day one at least Off the Bench and fit in really well with this team you know we talk about how young he is do do you think he could find a shot after just developing in overtime in the NBA um yeah I don’t think he’s 23% bad that is for sure okay um his like shot uh the the the difficulties of shots he was taking was like it was a ton of Pull-Up stuff didn’t really have a Creator like I said so it was sort of just him trying to create his own shot as like an 18year old 30% usage r as an 18-y old is pretty ridiculous let’s be honest yeah and um 60% of his shots were unassisted for a guy that’s still trying to figure out the the the ways to create with the basketball in his hand with his innate Talent obviously it’s it’s difficult right I think he’s he’s still not a great shooter um but he’s not 23% bad and I think there is shot to develop there there’s some funkiness with his mechanics his off hand is like kind of weird I think he shoots like this with like the ball like completely being covered by the offend um but there is still potential there he’s shown some real flashes of creation talent and I I I really am super high on him if he develops a shot’s and also a player without doubt where do you think he plays in the NBA he’s probably more of a three four he he’s going to be a wing if he develops a shot he can play even the two with his defensive versatility and his atticism but right now he’s a wing and I the reason I really like Holland is I think it gives Keegan more of an opportunity to be as that low man rather than being like the perimeter guy for us um and obviously he won’t start right away he will be coming off the bench he just isn’t there as a shooter teams will just completely ignore him maybe in his first year but with this cutting talent and with with the ability that he has in the open floor it’s absolutely Worth to take a shot I mean he’s just that can’t miss in my opinion prospec in this draft and I mean with with that Talent with that athleticism he will Transit but man you’re getting amped up i w i called one of his games uh when the g-league ignite they were in Stockton playing the Kings and I called one of his games and he was just a monster in transition and the thing that jumped out to me about Ron is you know you you have to check yourself watching these guys sometimes with g night he is an 18yearold kid at this point and he looked like a grown man I mean he is going at players who are strong who have some good size and it looked like he was just chucking them off of him to get to the basket it’s disgusting in transition so Unstoppable in transition I was saying this they didn’t guard him at all though and well that but also I was saying this to dece before he came on pral I was talking about well I mean maybe the Kings keep pushing the pace and their offense uh keeps going in that direction with that identity of being that fast-paced offense getting things in transition I mean that is basically what they would need to do with him on the floor correct without a doubt it’s it’s putting him in places where he doesn’t sit in like a corner the entire time can just ignore him you have to use him in movement especially in the half court get him on Cuts get him in in some sort of action so that he’s threat as like a rle man maybe as like a cutter as something because if you keep him just sitting in the Cor Corner defenses are not really going to play him and in transition he can run he can get out there he’s a lot threat seeing monk Fox and Holland in transition that would be absolutely incredible like come on but um yeah the main way to keep him engaged and really a threat offensively is you got to use his athleticism and you gotta keep him in the offense keep him in some sort of movement if you just sck him in the corner he’s really not going to do anything and he’s going to be a liability so um to start gotta just keep him involved and as that shooting develops he’s just becomes an incredible tool on both sides of the both sides of the FL for you we’re about eight minutes away from the start of the NBA Draft before we get there there are a couple of more names you’d be interested at 13 for Sacramento who are they Cody Williams is by far one of the most interesting prospects in this draft he’s really really skinny let’s be honest um there were times when you would just get flung off um especially in the offensive end when he’s trying to finish at The Rim but the aggression and the talent as a finisher is pretty remarkable giv his frame he shot 70% at the Rend this season as a 684 that’s looks like he’s what 180 pounds I I don’t even know but he’s really really skinny but um the lateral quickness the length he reminds me a little bit of jayen McDaniels if you look at that length that frame the way he moves defensively um he’s he’s a very good athlete he’s very quick um and shooting potential is there shot 41 42% % from three obviously on low volume but sha looks good sha prep is fantastic he has a potential to be a really solid three in D wing with like potential to be even more than that I’m actually higher than him on the guy that’s projects be number one uh Zachary R mostly because I think he has talent to be more of a Creator than ret does and if he falls to 13 that’s an absolute steal he will be fantastic in the NBA I feel like it’d be shocking if he fell a 13 though really yeah would wouldn’t that be a big surprise the night if he fell and of course for people who don’t know that’s Jaylen Williams’s brother who with to Santa Clara of course is on the OKC Thunder and uh you know Cody Cody’s what 18 19 years old too so a young guy just played one year of college ball at Colorado one of his teammates uh some people brought up as someone that could be a target for the Kings Tristan D Silva where are you at on Tristan I think he’s going to be absolute role player in the NBA it’s just not for Sacramento um the main reason why I say that is the defense was solid in college but the big thing that I keep coming back to is he’s a 694 with a 1.8 block percentage he doesn’t really play the Lowman all too well especially disrupting shots um he’s a smart player he’s Savvy he’s a really smart cutter so offensively the fit I think is really good it’s just he doesn’t provide enough for me defensively for me to take a shot as a shot at him at 13 I don’t think he’ll provide enough as like an on ball Defender I mean he’s good he’ll struggle with quickness he’ll struggle against speedy speedy guards and that means you have to really play him as a lan and keep keing at that perimeter defend Prim ster as where he’s right now and he’ll do good things as like a disruptor especially with seals and stuff and making good reads but it’s just not there vertically which I think will challenge him at the NBA level to be really excel at that place but um I think he’ll be great I think he’ll be a role player from the start he is one of the most complete players in the leag in in in the class he’s really complete offensively secondary play making fantastic shooting fantastic I just don’t think he’s there for the Kings right now how do you feel oh did you have something I was just going to say I just love his passion and the the homework like the guy’s locked in with the draft by the way and doesn’t mean he’s going to be right about everything but I’ll tell you what I’ll put pral up against anybody oh yeah around the world this man is sitting in India at 5:00 in the morning and he is dropping draft knowledge smacking you and to face left and right and I know we always say future NBA GM if you want it you know what I mean like we never would ever put that pressure on you you’re just you are you know so much would daddy deuce be disappointed if you w in nbhm yeah gross oh my God that is daddy deuce it’s not as creepy anymore oh cuz he’s 18 got it got it okay um pral I was going to ask you about Zach Ed we had some people in our chat talk uh uh about Zach e and then obviously just knowing that if he was just I guess my thing for you is more of the fit in Sacramento that is the number one thing we talk about like like who cares if even they are actually going to go in that direction I’m more curious what your thoughts are if Zack Ed was drafted at 13 for the Kings um he would give a different dimension especially I think on both of ball but he doesn’t pay with a bonus and I think that’s the biggest thing if you’re drafting at 13 for a backup center I don’t really know what we’re doing here um he’ll play maybe 15 16 minutes a game like that that that’s like that that that’s being generous at most like he doesn’t I think he’s actually a really solid Prospect um he’s underrated by a lot he’s overrated by a lot in my opinion um but the touch size finishing fact that he’s only playing basketball for what like four or five years or more than like six seven um he’s still not a finished project uh Prospect but um once again not for Sacramento um there’s things we need and and there there are things that come back to as like an evaluate especially for the Kings it’s looking at positional need and skill need um Zack Ed fits some like skill needs with the rim protection with the touch with what he can do as like a screen Setter with what he can do as like a foul drawer but he doesn’t fit a position only we have an all NBA level Center that will eat up a majority of the Minnesota play and he just won’t make a big enough impa right so um I think he’ll be solid I think he’ll be great there’s some questions I have on his ability to handle like NBA speeds uh he’s a good processor but his body doesn’t move as quick as his mind does I think um he’s a little bit slower and he’ll struggle in five out offenses but he’s a game wer and I think he’ll I think if he’s taken in the top 10 I think he’s more deserved than some people think obviously he has a lot of hate being a massive like foul drawer annoying player to play against people call him just his size but the touch is unbelievable I mean he can hit anything within five feet I feel like I mean it’s automatic and he’s he’s he’s a really solid prospect it’s just op so we are like 90 seconds away from this draft starting um before we get to the draft and we’re going to be bouncing with perneel and out throughout the nights he’s picks come through uh who who’s the other guy on your list that would make you really excited about if he was there 13 for the Kings um I’d say tjan Salon um the reason I say that is because the fluidity of his movements as 69 7 foot2 Wings spin is absurd I mean he moves like he’s like a 66 forward I think his motor um the context of his development as a guy that played um for for a really good team in in the top French League um is is really really intriguing to me I think that if he can develop as a shooter and the on ball flashes are real it would be freaking fantastic by the way pral hang on we froze for a second I don’t know why you’re still here so you you hang on I’m just going to plug some we got a new pc I don’t know why we froze you’re still here our just our camera hold on hold on one second let’s see fix I think you have to hold it longer no no no okay we’re going to see hey I like that face though we have I love that everyone can hear us uh why would it just freeze now huh look at us this is us right now freezing well that was us moments ago technically technically that was the past right as the draft is starting yeah yeah I I don’t know why that happened oh good here’s what I’m gonna do here’s what I’m do I’m GNA turn off the camera turn it back on Morgan they can still hear us okay so well I mean then I might as well just okay peral then I’m gonna ask you this even though people can’t really see you right now um what what do you think oh my God it’s okay do you think the kings are going to draft somebody or do you think they’re going to still end up trading that 13th pick wow um I think it’s more likely they draft now with the um Denny of diaa trade because that probably means K just not on the market anymore um and Jeremy Grant I doubt he’ll get traded as well I could see it being a possibility but with the contract size doubt the one guy I can see them making a move for cam Johnson but um I think it’s looking more and more likely that they keep the pick and make a swing with some of their other assets outside of 13 um we know that they try to make a move for Caruso which didn’t pin out but um I I I really do think they keep the pick and if they keep the pick I pray I pray they draft someone with some potential as um and some guy that can that that that won’t like depreciate as an asset um uh to to like kind of paraphrase what I’m saying by that is um generally dra like older players which means um you don’t see like that sky high potential that’s loved in the NBA um and um I I I would like a prospect that can sort of develop and be seen as an asset moving for that we can use and trade and stuff okay PR we really appreciate you we are also trying to figure out why the hell uh we’re Frozen are we are people can hear us but they can’t see us this is insane this is insane and I’m trying to figure out what the best play is here cuz I I have no idea why the camera would just stop like that well as the Draft starts I think we should let perneel also go watch yeah yeah no no he’s going to be in and out okay that’s what I’m saying that’s what I’m saying uh Morgan how about you talk for a second okay oh I love talking and I’m just gonna or I could walk through this the draft is starting right now I don’t I’m just trying to figure out I was going to say why don’t you try actually physically turning on and off the camera oh no no would you look at us we are Frozen um anyway okay as the draft is starting I’m going to start putting on my YouTube TV which um sponsors the NBA Finals as everyone knows let’s see YouTube TV boom boom boom we appreciate you guys being here hit the Thumbs Up And subscribe as we try to figure out what the hell is going on with her camera um we’re going to figure that out but anyway did anybody watch the uh red carpet leading up to draft night show because one I know I already said that this at the beginning of this I fell in love with Jared McCain even more but his back and forth with Richard Jefferson was hilarious and I was like just laughing at the TV like it was comedy we could be in business what wait that’s so great how did you do that I just I don’t know man just let it happen Okay so anyway let me finish this story before so anyway so Richard Jefferson he’s uh talking to McCain and he’s like he’s like yeah so when you were back in college uh JJ and I made a side bet and then he looks over at Cassidy because she’s hosting he’s like are we even allowed to say his name anymore on this show anyway and he’s just like making all these bits all these jokes I was I was actually actually entertained uh leading up to the draft so I’m glad you were and I’m sorry I’m not as focused I’m just trying to get this all sorted out how can you not focus on me at the same time while you figure out our camera situation H we got a new pc and uh because the other one crapped out and I don’t know why the camera froze like that all right fix that fix that okay we’re starting we’re starting why the hell did that happen man oh hi Bojack all right but here’s the other problem I got to do this now I felt like last year we had some stream uh problems too in the beginning I’m going see if uh I can I think perel just shook his head and said you did yeah yeah yeah you did hold on I just want to try something see God it has the old stream up okay okay I have an idea guys I appreciate you guys uh bearing with me as I try to fix this on the Fly it’s not ideal to be fixing on the fly but I’m going to do it here and you just go like that and then you go o you’re doing great Bojack loves it you got to resize it and then you got to resize it this is what you call versatility okay this is what you call versatility is my ability here to do this on the fly as the NBA Draft starts keep us Post in the chat the biggest thing you could do to help us out by the way hit the Thumbs Up And subscribe that’d be huge does everyone like my haircut no thanks [ __ ] off this is oh I see they even made you do this it’s all messed up we are all messed up right now which is just fantastic fantastic oh uh figure this out as a Draft starts where’s my draft there it is oh all right we we we’ll figure this all out appreciate you guys so much um I think I know now with perel there we go hi perel can you hear us okay thank God uh yeah I can hear you guys you guys sound working has the first pick happened yet nope uh silver is talking about I don’t even know where okay good we’ll check in with you after the pick all right we figured this out guys for now appreciate your guys’ patience I have no idea why the hell that froze that makes no sense at all uh we can also bring up the ESPN audio so you guys can hear it as we hang out and have fun watching the NBA draft together as the Hawks are on the clock okay so we’ll we’ll keep an eye on that as well okay Stephen A the repor is on the stage okay how’s everybody feeling in the chat right now just about the Kings at 13 how are you feeling about this draft overall are you stressed about it are you anxious about it do you think it’s going to be all okay do you think a trade’s going to happen let us know in the comments we have not had a w bomb in a little bit also we’ve had trades that have happened we’ve had some signings last night you had Mel Bridges going to the Knicks the Knicks followed it up today by getting OG on anobi yeah he signed a new deal 4 years 212 million year 1 36 year 2 39 year 3 42 year 4 45 year five 48 we also had to trade today the Wizards trading Denny abdia to the Portland Trailblazers in exchange for Malcolm Brogden the 14th pick a 2029 first round pick and two second round picks and a free agent signing the Nets are bringing back Nick Claxton on a 4-year $100 million deal and as it stands the Hawks are on the clock who are they taking at number one I love it also I saw I don’t know if that was out there today too that poor zingis probably won’t be playing the start of next season yeah that’s hey that’s where the Knicks are looking like people like oh do they have enough to beat Boston is porzingis going to be healthy next year Al Horford is a year older you can’t worry about that you got to go in with the group you have the Knicks have a talented team I think they’ll be just fine in the East especially with so many question marks in the East who else is legit in the East the Sixers don’t even have a complete team at this point what’s going on with Miami Indiana also Atlanta Hawks watch party that was packed it was packed they got the number one pick good for them I mean yeah they good for them be excited who who’s going to go number one well it sounds like Zachary Rize is going to be the guy at number one from France and he’s getting a lot of attention right now but I think so much attention’s also on what are the Hawks doing from here will Trey young be traded at some point this off season is dejonte Murray on the move are they picking a new Direction there was some talk that maybe alexar would be the guy at number one but he didn’t want to work out there he canc his workout last minute looks like he’s going to be going number two to Washington based on some of the reporting in the leadup to the draft when Alex SAR was asked about it uh on the red carpet leading up to the draft he was like you know everyone has tape on me they have the tape that they need on me and it was just like okay okay I mean you you believe in your ability and I mean you’re also kind of saying maybe that you don’t want to go somewhere I don’t know so we do have a report from Shams I’m going to say this Now spoiler alert that’s what we can do for people who don’t want to hear a spoiler okay spoiler spoiler alert the pick is in Zachary rochet will be the number one pick in the NBA draft let’s go to pril right now after I turn down YouTube TV pral what’s your first reaction you had just talked about him a little bit how there’s some guys you like ahead of him what do you think about him going number one this is probably the lowest a guy has got this is the highest a guy has gone for where he’s been like placed on my draft Bo I’ll be have him at like 14 um I don’t think he’s a top three level pick I’ll be completely honest um the shooting is solid spot of shooting is great he has shown really zero movement shooting ability right now the defense is really sound but you’re drafting number one with the idea that you’re trying to make a swing for like a top level tal right they have perimeter defensive needs I understand that but he just isn’t best player available right they’re drafting with the hopes that he’ll be this like transformative Wing that we’ve seen a lot of teams draft at like number one number two spot but no real handling Talent right now doesn’t really have that much playmaking shops right now finishing is so so but he and and the athleticism in the advantage creation I just don’t really see right um I think it’s a smart pick if they want to like continue trying to push for like a playoff spot but if you’re going to going to trade away treyer dejon and make some moves I don’t see the vision I mean I know SAR had some like questions on whether or not he’d want to like go here um but um so s was a clear number one even with that I think You’ try to go with like a reed shepher or a Ron Holland or um or or some other guy that can like give you some more of a ceiling because I think Reese Reese ceiling is more Capp Than People realize um still like once again didn’t show that handling didn’t show that Advantage creation that you would like to see out of a potential number one pick I honestly grade this like a c and that’s being a little bit generous um hopefully he can develop that stuff but um yeah I had him at 14 I had three other wings or four other Wings ahead of him so I want to see a little bit more from my guy than I’m taking in the top I’ll be completely honest I know this draft isn’t super strong but still you’re drafting more for need than for talent so I’m G to go a little bit on in on you when you do that yeah and it’s just trying to figure out what Direction the Hawks are trying to go here too is kind of confusing because there’s so there’s been so much talk about Trey young and de jonay Murray for a while now do you think do you think something like this though too like they don’t go for Ron Holland becau because of narrative too because they want to make sure that they aren’t the laughing stock or you know anything like that’s happening yeah I just think let’s hear the official announcement Zachary rash rash he really wanted rash rash r r it’s rash i r that’s fine I have the pronunciation for me too you son of a [ __ ] it’s it’s Z now he feels confident about cussing since you turned 18 um R anyway we we have God damn it Adam Silver we have a big man on the board next Alex SAR who could be going number two we’ll find out but Rize going rash going number one overall to the Atlanta Hawks yeah so pral you know hearing not necessarily your disappointment more so your analysis of the fit and just like maybe what direction that they want to go either way like it’s a good basketball player he’s a good basketball player you just feel like you just have no like there’s no Identity or explanation of what’s next for the Hawks really yeah and like I I really don’t understand the pck because there’s like questions of going to Rea but Ray is like a higher floor lower ceiling type of guy right now I mean like there’s once again there’s no real handling flashes that I’ve seen right that make me think wow that guy can be a high level Creator at the NBA which is what you want out of a wing size good uh length good defensive Talent is there but like I think he caps out as like a three andd guy um and obviously that’s the most sought off sought after like comp in the NBA we saw um the Knicks trade away five first Shawn pin for three and D guy three and D guy Mel Bridget but I don’t understand the pck when it comes with what they’re trying to do right are you trying to rebuild or are you trying to contend you’re shopping there’s rumors you’re shopping young you’re shopping Murray but then you draft a guy that’s more of a win now guy and you draft for pit I I don’t see it right SAR should have been the pick in my opinion if you don’t go SAR you probably go Holland or Shephard or or I’d even go with like potentially a Stefan Castle wouldn’t be bad Clingan would also make sense but it’s still the same questions I would have yeah it I you’re not the only one high on Ron Holland of course a lot of people were high on him headed into this before this season right when he went to g-league ignite he was a sought after guy um why do you think he is not he’s a guy that could be in the king’s range is it really boiling down to the the questions about the shooting and he had some questions on decision making if we’ll be honest um he made some pretty stupid decisions but I talk that up to being an 18year old Creator as you know as an 18-year- old Creator yourself you know you make yeah yeah um he there was times when he would just take unnecessary shots like pull up threes in transition when you had a guy in your face um running into traffic um but he showed real growth throughout the season right the playmaking really developed you saw the vision you saw him trying to figure out like oh there’s a guy right here I can make this pass the processing develop right um but it was really the decision making and like the lack of control in some aspects and the shooting that I think makes him fall a little bit people have some concerns on his finishing which I don’t have the same concerns 55 I think it was like 54 55% of his Baskets at The Rim were unassisted which will not be the same in the NBA he was creating a majority of those shots so he was putting himself in in like lanes and traffic that would be just him trying to figure out how to get to the rim in unassisted situations when you have NBA level spacing which you didn’t have it’s a different situation and with the Hawks right if they went with Holland I think they can provide him some of that spacing right Trey young is an incredible shooter dejonte Murray can shoot the basketball he would probably play with like DeAndre Hunter into his bases shoot the basketball V down bonovich right he would be able to play with the creative where I think he’d be able to flourish right um Holland needs structure and obviously Hawks don’t have a ton of structure but with try young automatically you have a creator that can give Hall in the basketball help him flourish right so that’s good I mean Reet makes sense if you want to contend but with all the RS coming out with Lanta thinking of you know blowing it up doesn’t make sense from an identity focus it doesn’t make sense from moving forward for like potential maybe a re appreciate you so much P we’ll check in with pel in just a minute too because the Wizards are on the clock and it looks like they’ve made they’re well they haven’t officially made the pck but of course Shams has has found out about it one of my favorite Parts about the draft and maybe it’s something I’m appreciating now as I get older my advant age d i just seeing his family out there like all these people’s families like dude what A Moment Like This is you dream of this goddamn yeah you dream of when you’re playing about I’m going to make it to the league and get drafted not you get drafted you get drafted number one and you played in France pretty badass is and I think sometimes too when people have so much [ __ ] to say about the 10th guy on the roster and even and you know they want to talk about his game or whatever it’s like these people have this moment of playing in the best league in the world and to be able to experience this moment of everything that they did to get there with their family it is really cool uh Tyler in the chat appreciate everyone in the chat by the way hanging out with us you guys are the best with saying that W Cooks all day Shams cooking now you know what if W wanted to cook during the draft he would I think there is obligations now with ESPN where you know ESPN’s like w can you not spoil this [ __ ] man you’re working for us we want people to watch the draft and Shams doesn’t have the same obligation Shams like I’ll go ahead and put that out uh if we’re going to go ahead and dra grade W Shams early part of this first round of the NBA draft The Edge goes to W because he broke the news last night of the trade of bridges the OG news he broke the Portland trade today with obia he’s on fire right now he’s he’s money from the transtion transaction game he’s money pick is in with the second pick in the 2024 NBA draft the Washington Wizards select Alex sar from to France over Elite Australia’s wild of so there you go Alex SAR going to the Washington Wizards they also have the 14th pick tonight in the draft after making that trade with the Blazers let’s check in with perneel perneel Alex SAR you you just talked about him and how you would have liked him number one potentially for the Hawks what what stands out to you what are the Wizards getting in alexar fantastic dig in my opinion he is my in my he is the best player in the shaft I think um especially from a potential wise especially looking like maybe five years in the future the fluidity his defensive impacts right now the shop blocking instincts um and and the athleticism will translate right away he’s an NBA level athlete his fluidity in his motions is like 7 foot one ridiculous he moves like a wing um um there’s like flashes of creation the splashes of like some shot making from especially from deep and if that develops he’s an all without a doubt um he will come in as a plus Defender right away which I think will trans really help and transform this Wizards team which needs like a shot blocker and needs some guy in the middle that can hold it down I have some questions on his frame he needs to get a little bit bigger A Little Bit Stronger but I mean his instincts and his his shot blocking Talent is UN he will be a fantastic player he show potential to move along the perimeter be switchable the fluidity in his motions is fantastic like I said so um yeah fantastic pick by Washington um he will Shore up some of their weaker Defenders and like Jordan P really help out in the rim protection aspect but um yeah this is this was this should have been the number one pick fantastic by Washington and another guy from France do you even do you and another guy from France yeah that’s it’s wild team team France has you know what that’s going to be well actually would he anyway I’m not even going to get into that um but I was going to ask for the Hawks if they had gone with SAR do like do you think they were avoiding that because of um what they already have going on with their big like what what what do you think was the reason they wouldn’t just go with someone that seems so obvious to so many there was like a lot of stuff that came out with him like refusing to work out um with with Atlanta because of um there’s stuff with like Nick wrestler being like the guy and and um uh and their agent I don’t think isn’t sar’s agent isn’t like super in love with Atlanta uh that’s something I heard I honestly have no definitive proof or evidence on that um but uh honestly at number one you just got to take the guy I mean y really really well he would fit really really well in Atlanta um they need a center they need Rim protection they need athleticism at that position Queen capella is getting old and he provide so much for that team watching Trey young and Sar play together would be so much fun but um yeah I think um honestly I hope the best for R but I think five years down the law down the line you’re you’re gonna be wanting SAR like Atlanta would love to have s um I think re will be a great NBA player but I think SAR is the has the most potential in this draft also really cool to see Alex sar’s brother Olivier SAR who is with the OKC Thunder organization we’ve seen him play on the OKC blue in the G League uh he was there at the draft just watching his brother get picked number two uh by Washington number three is where it gets really interesting right the Houston Rockets are on the clock so much talk are they going to trade the pck oh what’s going to happen here it sounds like they are making a selection here at this very moment Shams did spoil it oh we can wait on it if you want and why wait I I’m just very sensitive to people in the chat because there’s definitely a mixed thing but people are talking about in the chat too so it’s then let’s go all right spoiler alert if you don’t want to get spoiled I’m going to play this and be more excited by in Reed Shepard’s going to be the guy according to Shams chirania Reed shephards the Sharpshooter from the University of Kentucky shot over 50% from threep Point Land interesting he goes number three overall according to Sham shiria the official pick is not been made just yet so at the moment no trade by the Houston Rockets there have been so much talk that they’re being aggressive they’re looking to move things but as it stands right now doesn’t look like they are going to be making a trade um let’s see just trying to get to their someone in the in the chat let us know about uh Frank Mason the former King he just tweeted played this young guy in France this past season no way he’s the number one pick in the draft LOL but I guess that’s rough man oh my God yeah that it I mean well he’s just being honest he’s just giving his uh yeah opinion just giving his opinion just dropping some stuff on Twitter it’s not very nice played this guy last year he sucked uh I’m looking at let’s see okay I’m just looking at Reed Shephard Reed Shephard yeah and we I was just going to wait for the official announcement before we go of course you were well fun it’s fun Us in let’s go to the commissioner the24 NBA draft the Houston Rocket select Reed Shephard the University of Kentucky so Reed Shepard is the guy for the Houston Rockets that’s where he’s headed sounds like at the moment he’s a Houston Rocket what’s your take pral on Reed Shepard um shooting is absolutely Elite um he is one of the best shooting prospects to come out in like the last like three four years 52% from three 51% on pullup threes um 51% on pullup mid-ranges um and it was on 52% on 4.4 attempts too it wasn’t like two attempts or like three attempts he shot the ball on volume he made the ball like pretty much half the time which is absolutely ridiculous um he shot prep fantastic his hands he was a stock monster he got his hands on the ball off um playing off ball a ton um really smart as like a playmaker he sees the floor really well uh really good connected passer secondary playmaker um uh they’re real questions on his size and his athleticism especially laterally um but going to a team in Houston that has guys like amen Thompson even Fred B Le is a dog on defense um and Jabar Smith Jr who’s really solid on the perimeter as well as in the paint as like a Defender that will sort of hide that capability and he can just be a ball he can be an absolute monster breaking a plays being a playmaker on that end and um he was really he’s really competitive he will compete on that side of the ball so it’ll look better at times than he is he will still struggle against those quicker guards but he is fantastic he will be NBA ready from the start he will contribute right away and I think in the future he is that replacement for them and probably we’re looking at like amen Thompson Reed Shepard ja SM Jr is their like and I’ll PR is their future four if they don’t make that for Kevin Durant and that’s a really really solid top four if you if if you’re looking at Houston for the future yeah and he comes from a basketball family too like a lot of players in this draft um how much do you buy the shoot I mean look the results were there last year with a three-point shooting 52% it was not on like you know 53s the guy was this was high volume three point shooter to at 52% but some would point to the high school numbers not as good blah blah blah do you buy the shooting what do you think he is if if you don’t buy the shooting um the ways I wouldn’t buy the shooting is if the shot form is in consistent prep is weird he took a lot of them on open open shots and isn’t like fluid and quick in his shooting form but none of those are concerns for he is quick he has good shop rep it’s consistent he’s G on catch and shoot he’s put in pullup he’s really good everywhere and all the other indicators who was a solid fre throw shooter um touch around the rim was solid and yes the high school numbers weren’t great he’s not going to be 52% in in the NBA level obviously but there’s no doubt about M he’s going to be at least like 38 39% in the which is pretty damn good in the NBA you’ll take that in the NBA and so he just super yeah go ahead he so so basically he can rely on so many other things uh for because of he is that of athleticism there’s a lot of other good things obviously to his game being a top three pick that um that you would just want on your team if you’re any team in this NBA in the NBA oh yeah without a doubt I mean he he’s just a really smart player um he has great feel for the game he sees the floor really well he’s very good on his rotations which is why his hands are so good he just knows where to be meaning kill find a spot in the league right um if know where you’re going and you can shoot the basketball that’s generally all you need to be a rotational player so um and and I think they really would love the shooting and the connected passing he’s really solid offensively so fitwise it’s there for Houston he will contribute right away Off the Bench they kind of needed that venge C too and for future fit I think he fits in seamlessly with Al man Thompson al man is the foil to reach sheer he’s athletic he’s great defensively he’s a fantastic playmaker and GRE Shepard is not as athletic but really smart defensively and a fantastic shooter so I think this was a home run pick for Houston if they end up keeping re sheeper I think it’s a really solid pick I’d probably give it like an a the Spurs are on the clock right now it looks like they have uh made a decision according to Shams who of course has the pick already looks like it’s going to be Stefon Castle from Yukon can we give some love to the people hanging out and watching us live tonight Morgan Reagan give me a hell yeah why didn’t you do the little you know what you’re right my bad you know I was getting too Eed up according to Sham spoiler alerts Stefon Castle is going to be the guy for the San Antonio Spurs they’re also at the moment going to be picking number eight overall if you’re in the chat right now and you haven’t hit the thumbs up dude hit the thumbs up it doesn’t cost you anything to hit the thumbs up all it does is help our Channel grow make sure you subscribe to the channel we’re going to be here for the draft all night Sacramento Kings selecting at 13 which way will they go we even had a trade yet cuz the Spurs be making a trade soon the Pistons could be doing some things too who the hell knows what’s going to happen tonight will the Kings take a swing or will they select the player at 13 what direction will they go we will be here for it let me talk to you thank you guys so much for being here yes yes um why isn’t it your usual desk of people are they going on tomorrow like Malika and yeah that’s a good question I don’t know if they they mixed it up this year okay maybe I’m you know what maybe I have I’m watching oh you know why I’m watching the ABC feed of it oh and not the ESPN feed where’s the ESPN feed what’s going on I just was so confused I don’t know why I’m not seeing the ESPN feed in front of me my not there you go there you go oh and then silver just made it so we missed it uh yeah Stefan Castle from Yukon is the pick for the San Antonio Spurs Bobby Hurley they’re at the draft after s no no Lakers did I say Bobby you did I meant Danny Dan Hurley there you go uh they’re watching as he’s got a couple of guys that could be drafted all right Stefon Castle going number four overall to the Spurs what’s your reaction to that one prio um Talent is very good he’s a great defender on ball really tenacious um one question is on fit but you’re in the top four draft BPA so I’m not mad about that at all he wants to be a point guard at the NBA level he didn’t show too much of the handling there is some vision and playmaking talent there but um one thing that I think San Antonio struggled with last year was they didn’t have a true like point guard Jeremy San ran the point guard a lot Trey Jones ran it after the so exper was like so so which obviously made sense um but um if they’re gonna play him at the point guard I have questions on how he can develop as like that Handler playmaker I think he’s more of like a guarder wing but he’s super duper talented defensively he is incredible very very good on ball Defender um he’s great anticipation good moves well laterally smart off the ball um and um shooting isn’t there I think it can develop though um uh but but I I really do like him as a prospect I think this was the best possible pick at the moment it’s just I’ve have questioned where they’re gonna play him if they play him at point guard I don’t think he’ll be that great right away but I for sure think he has potential to right he played point guard in high school he didn’t play it in college but um the tools are there it just matters on whether or not they’ll develop yeah and is he willing to put in the work you know the San Antonio Spurs have a culture they obviously have one of the most exciting prospects generational Talent Victor wenyama you’re looking to surround him and you’re looking to grow something and if you believe that this guy can bring a competitiveness to the table that he brings um an IQ playing in that offense that he played in Yukon he could bring that to the NBA level I could see why the Spurs went that direction and they do have another pick coming up at number great and just an effort guy I mean yeah I I think there’s so much value into those type of players especially like you said when you are looking to develop especially around a generational Talent like wemi and what else do they do you know they’ve got other guys that can move you think about Kellin Johnson could he be on the Move who knows what the Spurs are going to be doing uh right now the Pistons are on the clock at 15 at number five we have not seen any spoilers at the moment moment um going to be interesting as we get closer and closer to the king’s pick what’s Your Gut tell you Morgan in terms of do they keep the pick or do they trade the pick I’m I’m just going to go with what the theme of the night seems to be and um they’re going to make a pick at 13 I think they’re going to trade it okay I mean that’s what I thought I’m nervous though I got to be honest as we get closer I get nervous I don’t feel nervous you know why you get nervous is because of History you know I mean like you said it’s like they make the playoffs one year and then they miss the next year and you’re like oh wait that wasn’t a fluke right and you don’t want it to be fluky you don’t want all of a sudden like bad trades to happen or Miss draft pick so I’m just anxious and guess what you’re not going to know if it works or not until October or whatever anyway guess I guess that’s where like I I think a lot of people say the night before the draft and what I love is where they feel anxious and excited is that you feel this hope right everyone feels all everyone around the NBA feels hope um and I think I don’t feel like whatever they do with this pick will be the end all Beall to the next the I guess will be the thing that moves the needle to they’re going to have to make more moves much yes like it could be the start which that’s always fun hey we love a good start but yeah Detroit has a new front office they do not at the moment have a head coach after letting Monty Williams go it’s been a lot of change for the Pistons over the years they owe him a [ __ ] ton of money a lot of money um we are not hearing anything at the moment oh W is popping on the screen we should just check in huh what’s the timeline in which we could see a new head coach in place oh Malika one candidate that the pittson are playing to interview in the coming days uh New Orleans assist associate head coach James bgo he and langon worked together there uh this past season but right now Trent langon is Fielding a number of calls at number five uh for the Pistons several teams have been trying to get up uh in for the chance at getting yukon’s Donovan King and among those teams the Memphis Grizzlies at number nine uh they imagine clinging plugging right into their starting lineup uh but right now Detroit’s Fielding those calls Charlotte would feel them too if C gets I’m going to say right now we got probably the spoiler of all spoilers tonight do it wow what the Detroit Pistons according to sham chirania at this moment are going to be selecting Ron Holland from G League ignites the look on PR’s face this is a guy that had been mocked to the king some people there was even one report earlier today that said he was sliding down draft boards well surprise surprise a guy that was a highly talented High School Prospect goes one year at g-league ignite able to put up big time points but losing a ton of games looks like he is headed to the Detroit Pistons I know you like him peral we’ve talked about him a lot tonight are you shocked by this pick at number five wait hold on we don’t hear you why am I not hearing you he’s so shock I was muted I was muted um um this is probably the worst place for Holland to go um he needs structure without a doubt he needs spacing without a doubt and um he needs like a app it’s like he just needs structure without a doubt um he he just needs a team that can put him in the right spots a team that can feed him the ball without him having to create his own shots and stuff and man the Pistons aren’t really bad Kate is fantastic but outside of that they’re a massive uncertainty Aur just can’t shoot neither can Ron neither can Duren Duren um neither can really Ivy um they’re like you bunch of incredible athletes for sure it is a new front office though we should note that that this is a new front office that could be trying to reshape things in their their Vision too yeah yeah um but like I don’t this team will be like the worst shooting team in league history unless they make a move and get some Shooters but this is by far the best like Talent most talented guy in the draft so BPA fantastic job Detroit the fit is comically weird right now I’ll be honest but um you know what I’m not even going to like hate because Detroit made the right move this was the guy they needed this was a guy that can really transform their team defensively with oor that is going to be absolutely frightening for NBA defenses like two six foot like six plus wings that are incredible athletes that’ll just swarm all over you I mean they’re going to defend everything um and then obviously will make duren’s job a lot easier I think defensively they’re not like a top even like 15 unit even with the inexperience it’s like going to be a problem with coaching um without a doubt but um yeah the fit offensively I would love to see simply see how they figure that out because man they cannot shoot the basketball I just I just I feel the worst thing about it to me is like the whole it’s situational for so many players that I mean everywhere at any point in your career oh we just do have an update uh this is from Adrien wowski about a potential trade uh another team’s working to move up and secure Donovan kinging sources tell ESPN Portland looks like Portland is looking to move up we don’t know what the details are of course they made a trade earlier today Landing Denny abdia in exchange for the 14th pick excuse they they sent brog in the 14th pick and a a first round pick in 2029 along with two second round picks but right now they’re focused on trying to move up to get clinging they don’t want to so do you think they’re trying to move up up to like the 13th spot and give the Kings Jeremy Grant somehow no no no no no no they’re they’re trying to move up in the so Portland is drafting right so they traded the 14 right oh they traed that’s now with Washington they also have the seventh pick so they they’ve got the seventh as well so they okay so so if they remember they have DeAndre Aton on the roster too so there’s a lot of moving pieces at the moment that is so okay well this is crazy right now okay going back to Holland though uh pral because I you know we talk about situational and just it could be at any point in your career but for him as such a young player that needs that type of structure the right type of uh I I don’t know coach coaching staff culture so then he can develop in the correct franchise in very very meaningful years of his NBA career do you think if they pick the right coach he could still do that oh abs absolutely and that’s basically going to be contingent on both assar Thompson’s development and Ron holl’s development which is why I find this pick probably this will be the this is the most interesting pick in the draft because I want to see how try I don’t know how pronoun the name buly it’s Tron lingon right um I want to see how he will build this coaching staff and build the team around these like two super raw but super talented wings um Let me let me preface this one more time this was absolutely the right pick he is the most talented guy on the board this raises their ceiling like tfold he is easily the best guy in the draft in in in on the board right now it’s just I I’m unsure if he’ll be able to reach that potential in Detroit and I pray he does because he is an absolutely enjoyable player to watch and he’s a fantastic young basketball player and this pick seemingly blew up a lot of mock drafts because I don’t think I read one mock draft that had Ron Holland going number five it seemed like most had him in the teens like maybe I I I saw a lot around the Kings range so he is going five overall with the Hornets on the clock at the moment and we’re still waiting to see what’s going on because W reported just minutes ago that the Portland Trailblazers are trying to move up they are slay to pick seventh the Hornets are on the clock right now at six and they try they’re trying to move up to secure Donovan kingan so this is fascinating I I am this is this is why we live stream for the NBA draft and free agency this is a ride oh my God it’s a ride it’s a ride indeed and the kings are slay at the moment to pick 13th overall man huh yeah I’m getting nervous I I’m not I getting nervous I’m not nervous I’m not nervous I’m just I’m very curious I wish it would like speed up Tanner’s right too hit the like button hit the thumbs up all it do has helped this channel grow we got 900 people watching us live but the kings are slated to pick a 13th overall rizet goes number one SAR goes number two Shephard 3 castle 4 to the Spurs Ron Holland blew up your mock drafts you mock draft people he goes number five to the Pistons with the Hornets on the clock at this very moment according to Jake Fisher Charlotte is trading back from number six to number nine with Memphis wow so w could be wrong W was saying it was going to be Portland trying to move stop doing too much WJ no idea if he’s the source or not but uh you know what he just quote tweet and said apology Charlotte is working on a trade back to nine so who that who the hell oh Jake all right so we’ll wait this is this is the time it gets really really fun with these NBA guys trying to beat each other to the punch my God that would be like wow the he got ahead of himself yeah that’s why think before you tweet no or just know I have a question do I go pee now go go pee now oh my God what peral the check jobs on Twitter okay don’t temp me I don’t want to I don’t want to I don’t want to spoil it for the chat okay let me see let me see oh okay yeah we’ll wait for Deuce um um I never know how to say his name though uh soon as do left too that’s hella funny I know he’s like should I pee now yes yes you should um that actually that that’s not fantastic dude so I am yeah I’m like not like deuce where I’m like anxious I’m very I’m fascinated by all this but I’m also ve I’m very Cur like can’t we get to 13 we are almost halfway there practically halfway there dce Shams [ __ ] what do he say what do he say the pick is in what it didn’t pop up on my phone oh no wait wait wait wait wait wow salon’s going Salon are you kidding me Peril didn’t say it so he wouldn’t spoil it until you’re back Jean Salon is going to be drafted coming up at number six wow God perneel again another one of your guys who was mocked kind of in the Kings range at times and I know he’s been kind of all over the board too but you talk about guys on your big board we were talking about hey perfect world for the Kings maybe salon right maybe uh Holland here we go Salon going to the Hornets um I think Salon is actually a really good fit for Charlotte um he gets to play with the Creator he’ll get a ton of bball reps which is what he desperately needed and it’s a little bit more structure than Detroit let’s be honest um still a lot of uncertainty with that team but getting to play with Brandon Miller and ton Salon imagine if they both develop as the creators that I think they can possibly be that is a monster Wing Duo and um yeah Salon will give you a lot of I I mean he’s a guy that I think needs reps um the motors is there the fluidity all the athleticism all of the um innate Talent is all like just showing him flashes but you give him more reps and he can develop as like the Creator that he show flashes of uh he showed a lot of interesting flashes as like a mover without the basketall as like a cutter um with like the ball in his hands as like a Handler and um the shooting is like not great I think he’s at like 31% right now but he’s shown like flashes of that as well he’s un know but with all the tools he has he could be something incredible and is really good place for him to grow into that yeah they’ve got a new coaching staff there too and when you watch this guy play his confidence level he plays hard but you mentioned the shooting isn’t quite there yet it doesn’t look like the shots broken by any means it just wasn’t super efficient he’s not afraid to take it and he launches from Deep on the floor he’s got tremendous SI you feel like he’s super raw and to me you know this at number six this is a swing here right because I this could either be like a oh my God they got a start or a complete bus because he is that raw what position is he playing next year what’s that all the FL okay yeah yeah okay yeah I mean his size alone I mean being in Sacramento for the California class that too that will be fun oh yeah we get Charlotte um yeah his his size alone I know I know when you get a raw player and especially when it’s like that high up in the draft like again you are believing in your your developmental coaches you are believing in your coaching staff you are believing in that internal development and what you can ultimately do with that Squad so and I mean that that body type alone it I mean that’s why whenever we do talk about the sacrament of Kings I know and we talk about length and all the thing it’s like 68 217 lbs they said it’s just yeah yeah and it’s it you got to be patient with him no doubt about it but there there is something there that could be very special uh also something that’s kind of special we’ve had three Frenchmen drafted in the top six of this draft which is pretty crazy for the game has just expanded it is a global game so much International Talent now um I don’t think any mock draft had him going this high though right like I I think I saw him like eight or nine but no one had him this high so now we’ve got two players yeah who were mocked much lower or a little bit lower at least going five and six with Portland on the clock and it seems like unless there is a trade that’s about to be made that Portland has their eyes on Donovan kingan from Yukon we’ll find out uh once things get put out there on social me Media or on TV and one thing I want to add with Salon is um him getting on ball reps which he will get a ton of in Charlotte will do wonders for his development like a raw player like a more raw player that sort of needs to develop as like a Creator and a processor he needs all reps um uh unlike Holland who was more like we saw him as a Creator and we saw that he’s just not there yet decision- making wise we haven’t really seen Salon there so we need to see how he is as a decision making with the ball in his hense how he is as a Creator to see where to go next with this development and he’ll get so many of those opportunities with Charlotte to grow as that Creator to grow as that type of player right him and Holland are very similar in that aspect as in I think they can both be high level like creators with the basketball uh creation and space creation and like creating shots for themselves but um very different in how I think you should approach them development wise so needs the Bon F he was more of an off ball guy in Chet basket because they were contending but and and he played with a lot of heart played with a lot of like just played hard but in Charlotte he’ll get a different type of look where you’ll see them sort of prioritizing his development which they didn’t do that much of in ch basket um we’re getting one update here sham shiria is reporting a little bit of a spoiler Portland picking here at number seven Shams is reporting that it will likely be Donovan kingan from Yukon the big man from the University of Connecticut interesting too because um they have DeAndre Aon well they have exactly they have DeAndre and I mean bye-bye yeah bye-bye slash it’s also like you you want to make sure that you are gathering bigs that you actually maybe believe in and want to continue with in the future but uh with kingan you know I was telling Deuce this I wasn’t watching full games of his but watching even some of his highlights there was just like there’s certain things about his body movement that just wasn’t wowing me what what is your take on him as big yeah he’s not the most fluid guy he’s he Lumbers a little bit he’s big strong like a big big dude seven foot2 like I think 250 60 pounds um there’s he’s not the most bluid guy he’s not going to be able to like dance along the perimeter but as like a drop coverage big in today’s NBA fantastic um makes great reads has great shop blocking intins he’ll be a fantastic shot from the start um he’s good as like a pick and roll guy on the offensive end as like a rim Runner but you sort of like know what he is as of right now um smart processor had like a I think he was six in CVB in Block percentage will block shots pretty well great screener and he is a smart player Yukon runs a lot of different schemes and a lot of different things on Def and offense and he’s shown the ability to run with them and seems like a really smart player with like high IQ right so he has a place in the NBA not the high cealing guy but I think he’s probably a better fit for them especially with scoop on um on the offensive end and the defensive end then Aiden so uh solid pick not like a super wow type of thing but um there was some rumors that they go after Ed which I thought would be really interesting but um kingan is good kingan will be an NBA player I think for uh long period time he’s fantastic as and it’s interesting Portland lands him officially at number seven Donovan King and going number seven to Portland San Antonio at the on the clock at 8 Memphis coming up at number nine there was plenty of talk in the last couple of days that Memphis and even in the last few minutes that Memphis was trying to move up to get kingan it doesn’t sound like they were able to get that done so kingan is going to the Portland Trail Blazers and now you wonder where does Memphis go from here you know what does the Spurs do at eight it’s also intriguing too like M does Memphis if Zach Edy is there do they go Edy at nine if they were looking to get a big like Clingan yeah I think they could or I also could see them trading back for maybe uh KS Messi who I think is a really intriguing raw Prospect plays really hard um or or I could see them going for donon Holmes even though he’s not really their type he struggles as a rebounder um but they they have a clear need for a big and I still think they’ll chase that whether it be Ed or holes or Missy or maybe even a CLW who knows um but yeah we will we will see with Memphis I do think that um San Antonio will take a guard here and I I predict it’s gonna be Nicola doic I predict oh and of course he had the ACL injury so he’s going to miss next year um so they could be patient with that and but when it comes with like a playmaking point of view um he’ll struggle as a Defender right without doubt in my mind I mean he’s not super quick ACL ter puts even more questions on his lateral quickness they hit him a lot at um mega basket um but um that like on the defensive end he was just not put in like actions he was like put on like weaker def we weaker offensive players um but with San Antonio they are they have so many defensive weapons de Devon vasel Stefan Castle I mean Victor one minyama where you can have Nicola toic be a bad Defender and let him flourish as that SL AER that Rim pressure that playmaker that he is I think he’s a fantastic fit and he is probably the best guard right now for that team I can also see them going Rob Dillingham from like creation aspect as like Dillingham is also fantastic playmaker he has a lot of Malik monk in him and he will make a lot of highlight plays with Victor wamaa but I think toic is a guy he also fits their r as like a taller bigger guard too so that’s my prediction for now foral Jim in the chat just brought up an interesting name a guy that a lot of people thought was they pegged him to go to the p fi was modest buellis who is still on the board at this moment too who was Ron Holland’s teammate with G League ignite he is still on the board at this moment if the Kings get m b I’d be completely unexpected but I’d be incredibly happy if that ends up being the pck um I mean I didn’t peg him at all as a guy um he is so big super long I mean you’re talking about like he’s like what 69 610 like a seven seven foot Wings spin I mean the size of is really fascinating if he ends up falling he’s a smart player great cutter versatile um he’s a jack of all traits he can do everything I think um and he would fit that low man that we would need at on the offensive end really well like he’s great on rotation he’s a smarter player he still has some work to do as I think an on ball guy and overall a and shooter but there’s so much talent there I think he would be a fantastic pick um I have a stat here I think he like obviously sabonis is Fant fantastic um as like a playmaker on cuts and stuff 75% on shot attempts after Cuts so fits perfectly next to sub bonus um and and he shot the ball really well from three in high school so there is potential there um but yeah I would really like m m on the Kings I really didn’t even have him on radar for being honest so now when you look at some of the players that are still on the board that maybe you thought were going higher are are you to the point where like yeah the Kings should just use a 13th pick or you still open-minded to them potentially trading this pick tonight um depends on honestly buellis um Holmes and um uh uh uh Cody Williams right now yeah I would say depending on where they go um if they’re still like around there by pick 11 Pick 10 I’m I’m fine with taking the pick as on the contingent that we take those backs um if it’s like I I have I I mean obviously guys like I TDs is not for the Kings I would be disappointed if he’s the pick wear is the most interesting prototype in I like him man I know you’re mixed on khilar I used to be a lot higher on him I watched more games after a conversation with some with the guy on Twitter and realized that the motor just isn’t what I thought it was The Rim finishing isn’t what I thought it was but when you look at the Prototype of kware you’re like wow this guy reaches the ceiling he is the best fit for this team man we got we got an update we got an update at the moment wow this is very interesting San Antonio was selecting Rob Dillingham from the University of Kentucky but but he could be on the move according to Shams to Minnesota really hey man Minnesota that’s not right I cannot wait to see what this deal looks like if Minnesota gets this done because I would love Rob Dillingham with Minnesota think about they got that old man connley who’s so good at kind of running things but having Dillingham come off your bench and create and not have Anthony Edwards to have to do everything you’ve got Defenders around him that maybe make up for his lack of size and that’s another guy Dill they said Dillingham in Holland we’re dropping today let’s hear the pick from Silver oh my god with the eighth pick in the 2024 NBA draft the San Antonio Spurs select Rob Dillingham from the the University of Kentucky now we’ll wait to see at the at this moment the Spurs pick him but he could be on the move to Minnesota according to Shams this feels like a pick that would be on the move right yeah yeah yeah but even if it stays in San Antonio I kind of like the fit I mean creation is there he’s a really solid playmaker um he had like a 1.9 assist to turnover ratio average I think around four four or five assists um let me double check um yeah 30.5 assist percentage fantastic playmaker I think um underrated in that aspect shoot the basketball has an in between game so even if they keep him he’s solid I would be completely fine with him as the pick and if he moves to Minnesota that team is going to be absolutely a joy to watch we do have some updates coming in left and right we do have something involving Sacramento that’s just a rumor we’ll get to in a second whoa says Minnesota has traded for the eighth pick in Rob Dillingham so he is going to the Minnesota t-wolves what is going back we don’t know meanwhile the kings are slay to pick 13 Jason Anderson from the Sacramento be says he is told the kings are still engaged in trade talks involving the 13th pick in the draft the two names he is hearing right now Kyle kosma and cam Johnson so see Buckle upma I thought he’d be completely off the board with them t with them going for pick the bo team so that’s interesting very interesting stuff so we will wait uh to see what unfolds here at the moment Dillingham is headed to the Minnesota tea wolves waiting to see what that trade looks like but I I mean that’s fantastic that is absolutely fantastic you think about their challenges last year for Minnesota right Jordan mcgoffin they picked up Morris but they just lacked someone else to create for them especially come off the bench as soon as M Conley was injured and then it all fell on hey Anthony Edwards we need you to be the point guard so not only do you need to do everything but then also what defend Kyrie Irving or whoever else he had to defend there’s just so much energy that he had to give especially in that postseason so being able to rely on another point guard that is so bouncy is so fun and has the same type of dog mentality that I feel like so many others have on that Minnesota Squad wow and what better place for a small guard that will struggle defensively to go to the longest team in the sport with the best defense in the sport like come on it’s a match made in heaven he will be fantastic there he I I I think he’ll really develop with Mike Conley that coaching staff Anthony Edwards as a Edwards as a mentor as well I mean fantastic pick fantastic proactive move by Minnesota that isaw hold on we have another update so we’ll we’ll hit more about Rob Dillingham we don’t know the details yet Minnesota moves up to eight they just land Rob Dillingham in the Draft Zack Edy is going to be off the board with the ninth pick spoiler alert according to W and chams Zack Ed is headed to the Memphis Grizzlies Memphis failed to move up for Donovan King and they go we’re getting a big no matter what Zack Edy getting drafted number nine overall let me just tell you something about the mock drafts this year Rumble them up light them on fire they are all [ __ ] this year it’s all over the place this is the NBA draft this is why we’re live give me H yeah God I love this [ __ ] now it gets so interesting because there’s some pretty talented players on the board for the Sacramento Kings we also have an update about this the trade the t-wolves are trading a 2031 unprotected first and a protected 2030 pick swap to the San Antonio Spurs for that’s Rob Dillingham so they go they’re really betting on this core then they are completely betting on this is the team to win the CHP I mean I I love Rob Dillan peral I mean this guy when we were watching him I’m just he plays such a sexy style of basketball the creativity all of it the handles I mean his ability to finish at The Rim even with his size like the understanding one thing but then also like think about if he can get that deep in the pain and then throw it up to one of his L threats right it’s yeah it makes sense yeah he’s he’s just a he’s a Savvy offensive player I mean the creation the handle the passing the in between game five 52% on fls um with one attempt a game the pull-up shooting he has it all from an offensive point of view right um and and with Minnesota who has structure who will let him really run things on that end Off the Bench it’s it’s really a match bait in heaven it is a perfect fit I think he will really flourish um with with some Freedom playing with an playing with all the Defenders they have meaning he doesn’t really have to worry that much on that end you could see another Malik monk type of player really develop in Minnesota man I am really excited to watch that team next year yeah and hey let’s also talk about this they you talk about the picks in the future let’s not lose side of the they they gave up a lot of picks to give Rudy goar Tim Conley that front office is all in I love them picking up Rob Dillingham you got to go for it the West is open right like you don’t feel like you’re that far away ant develops you got him coming off the bench Dillingham that is nasty uh Zach eedy to the Grizzlies I mean what do you think about that little that little move especially after losing out another big um yeah I mean he’ll provide a lot of similar things to cling in and I think it’s a perfect fit in Memphis I won’t say perfect but it’s a really good fit um uh there’s some concerns I have with their preter shooting JJJ has aggressed every single year as a three-point shoter but jaw is such a gamebreaking like athlete that I don’t think spacing is gonna be that much of an issue since you kind of have to guard him like anywhere because he’ll just get to thr in an instant and job with Ed is so interesting to me because I mean with his quickness his ability to get Rim pressure in an instant and Ed down in the paint as like a guy that is incredible touch as a guy that can set massive screens that’s freaking interesting that’s awesome yeah I mean think about even like yeah it’s it it I like it I like Zach Ed I know a lot of people in our chat have been saying oh all throughout today how much they like Zach e talk about Zach e he’s a polarizing guy he totally is and I don’t think he’s necessarily the right fit for Sacramento good for him he uh you know is going to the Grizzlies and everything but now you’re seeing with even some of these rumors coming out with Sacramento that they’re really intrigued with an established player well what I’m really interested in too here and someone our Super Chat shout out to Josh doing five bucks he had a trade idea it’s probably doesn’t work financially but we’ll we’ll have fun with it wait we have an update first uh we’ll get to his Super Chat Utah is selecting one of PR’s favorites Cody Williams with the 10th pick so Modis buellis is still on the board D connect is still on the board there’s some interesting prospects still on the board potentially for Sacramento coming up here pril uh that we could talk about in a second I do want to get to Super Chat okay this person was suggesting maybe packaging up the 13th either with herder and HB for uh kuzma in the 14th pick I don’t think that would be possible but it’d be interesting if Sacramento was able to like move down a spot and still get kozma I just don’t think that’s a possibility I think kozma is going to cost a little more than people realize yeah and why would Washington want to do that like why would they be like oh yeah no that’s great we’ll take HB and Kevin herder like that’s the direction that we want to go in I did say this to you before I said if they did go with HB they’re getting that veteran leadership in their locker room that has seen a lot of chaos Jordan pool all the different things going on within their organization but at the same time yeah I don’t think that’s going to move the needle to get C okay so the spoiler from Shams is that Cody Williams will be going number 10 overall to the Utah Jazz you’re reaction to that pral um they’re trying to build Minnesota south or Minnesota West I would say um because that team is so long um Cody Williams Taylor Hendricks Larry marinin um John Collin Walker Kesler all these guys are what six eight long Wings fans and Cody will develop under will hardy I’m sure he know he is a really smart head coach he know how to use it but I have questions on how much time he will get and how much development he’ll get right I think he might be a g guy from the start especially with how they treated tayor Hendrick’s development but um I I worry about the fit to an exent but talent wise he’s the best player available always take best player available especially in the rebuilding so um he I think he has a chance to flourish it’s just I have questions on how much ref will’ll get oh just being because it’s in Utah yeah because and they have a ton of guys at his position too he’ll be playing behind Larry he’ll be playing possibly behind Taylor Hendricks and I think I I could totally see them playing at the two and really getting him refs as like being that two guard of the future but it’s a really interesting fit because Keon is a bigger guard um Cody Williams 68 Long 7 fo One Wing spent Hendricks is long L Marin is long I it’s an interesting team they’re building there and I think with his skill set especially defensively it would be fantastic because they really need a POA guy as well point of attack guy so um yeah I I I I have questions on the fit but it was the right selection so I’m not too mad about it his his brother is there and they have a five minute handshake it’s super cute it’s what and I know we already talked about families being there but what a cool moment for this family also you get another son in the NBA you’re back at the NBA draft insane yep really cool okay so uh interestingly enough Chicago is on the clock coming up then you got OKC and then Sacramento holy [ __ ] this is I think they take buellis I think they take Chicago isn’t he from that area is he isn’t he from like he grew up in Chicago right oh yeah for sure for sure and um with like all the uncertainty with Patrick Williams and where he might go and and in his impending fre agency I could totally see them going for like another for raw for that can really develop as like that jack of all trades guy thaty can that can pretty much do anything and um I don’t know where they’re going they’re another team that seems kind of rudderless with their identity um like trading away a win now for Josh GID who um is obviously still a very raw player he’s only 21 years old and but still trying to like contend to because they want to like start him and they want him to be like that playmaker with dear d r Roan still like being in tox to bring him back and like keeping him a lot of uncertainty with Chicago but buzel is I think is probably the guy and guess what peral is absolutely right modest buellis is going to the Chicago bowls according to shams shiron Modis buellis and W has confirmed that Bulls are focusing on Chicago Kid Modis buellis yeah I mean I I I called his first g- League game last year and you see the flashes uh for sure and talking to people who have known him for a long time it’s like he’s a competitive guy he’s a talented guy and I think it’s so hard to judge some of these g-league ignite guys based on last year’s Team Construction a little B they just not had a good year and maybe people are sleeping on someone like Modis buellis but he was a guy that was projected to go much higher a lot of people thought he was going to go five and I mean if you’re Chicago you get a HomeTown kid added to your team and maybe a surprise to you this is a huge win for them yeah and and Peril it’s it it I I mean how many times have you you know talked about him excited about him but also it’s the same thing that you said about Holland and not having the right pieces around him with the G ignites so not being able to to Really showcase everything that he’s capable of doing oh yeah the only guy in G League that I think was probably used to his role was Tyler Smith because he I think they Ed him pretty well but outside of that I think almost every single one of their PRS was miscast right um a guy that was a big draft favorite before um was Eon almana who was absolutely miscast and now had to take his name out of consideration because he got no buzz right um and bzal was similar in that aspect right um I think they didn’t have enough spacing to really give him the opportunity to shine with his with the ball skill flashes that he showed right and and they it was just a mess and I think there is still a little bit more structure in in Chicago similar with the Pistons um a lot of uncertainty in Chicago but unlike the Pistons they have structure they have a head coach they have consistent Playmakers on the basketball so um I think bzal will thrive in Chicago I think it’s a good fit and it’s it’s a really solid pick they once again to probably the best player available for their skill needs so um yeah I’d probably say an a pick there for Chicago it’s heting up here you know you’ve got OKC on the clock then Sacramento uh really interested to see what happens next uh dlan conck is still on the board at this point where where are you at with him perneel ah um the movement shooting is undeniable um but what does he really do outside of that is the main question I’ve had for connect throughout this cyc right um he’s like what six foot six there are some athleticism there there’s some athleticism there um as like with with the length and the ability to just move without the basketball and stuff but he’s not a vertical athlete he doesn’t really playmake um not fantastic allball Defender doesn’t really get Rim pressure he’s a mve intruder that’s kind of it and he’s pretty much finished Prospect as well um wasn’t a tremendous Rim finisher either like I wouldn’t I wouldn’t love the D connector pick for Sacrament I’ll be completely honest um I’m with with the way the draft has gone I am pretty much officially team train the pick um the only guy that I’d love to see the only guy that I’d love to see in Sacramento is donon Holmes because I think with his weaknesses and with what our coaches have a show M Keegan he could really develop into a guy that can play with sabonis but there’s still some uncertainty there but he’s the only guy that I’m right now keyed on as in If You’re Gonna Keep the pick he’s probably the guy the guy who’s who’s also kind of in that range too who I really like is uh Devin Carter but like from a king’s fan perspective I don’t know anyone would be excited because but his defense and you know you look at him he’s 6’2 oh no a small guy wingspan 68 wingspan dude the guy is long he’s so athletic he is so just draw fast moves so quickly on defense great leaper I mean Devin Carter is the safest pick in the draft in my opion be the Derek white of the draft tow pitch is still on the board as well that’s be noted and toit would be if the Kings went with toit I’d be intrigued that would be something out left field I’m not I on toit I’ll be completely honest but um it would be an intriguing pick to say the least but question is that is not win now at all that is the opposite of what we want to do but the fit would be interesting from like a non- Kings fan perspective and thank you to the live chat and everyone that is hanging out chat it up weed ITC on the board the king’s going to make a trade big excited go Kyle kma be on his way to Sacramento could cam Johnson be on his way to Sacramento we will find out in the next few minutes if anything big happens holy [ __ ] holy [ __ ] holy [ __ ] um let’s see also if you have not yet done it hit the Thumbs Up And subscribe we are be he be here I don’t know why I I can’t talk I’m getting so I’m so excited uh make sure to hit the Thumbs Up And subscribe all does help us be here all effing nights we’ll be here all night oh God yeah I I I’m very fasinated to see what they do if they make a trade here just don’t don’t mess it up please don’t mess it up I mean what would be messing it up to you right now giving up like three first for KOA or something crazy you say that in no and like it’s I I’m sorry like people are dangling these established pieces around the NBA oh never mind this is also hey Chad I want you guys to give a nice H in the chat for perneel who is live tonight not from his house in Northern California he is live in India in India on a family vacation where it is I don’t know is it like 6:37 in the morning now 645 645 and you you you’re awake huh you’re Juiced oh yeah uh I don’t drink caffeine I drink coffee for like the first real time today simply so that I can say y oh my God oh my God we’re such bad influences and he’s killing it no uh I I had like I I got somewhat hooked on tea in carola they have like tea plantations there so I my aunt made me coffee this morning simply so that I can like stay aake for this but um dude yeah it’s very bitter I’ll be honest it’s very bitter oh God hoping this Kings decision isn’t bitter uh also we’ll check in with Bobby Gerald in a bit after the kings make a pick too so while full coverage from pernil and then we’ll check in with Bobby Gerald and then pernel is gonna be sticking with us too oh my refresh refresh we refresh give me some sort of clue I’m I’m scared I am thank you I’m scared too oh there is literally no one I want so I’m scared they’re going to mess this up would there be anyone that you’d be like holy [ __ ] excited for or you you’re just like um donon Holmes is the only guy i’ get somewhat excited for outside of that um take him at there’s no one in the I mean I’d be really intrigued if we went with like a Devon Carter and we with the Isaiah Collier I would be like the fit isn’t there but oh my God he is fantastic yeah he is he is number four of my big board he is I like a yeah he is fantastic and like that’s the one guy that I’m like regardless of fit I’m okay with it you know what because he’s like he is athletic he there’s some there are obviously some questions with like the USC had no structure so I’ll be honest the shooting concerns I don’t think are as bad as they are there was really no spacing there 37% Kat and shoot Rim finishing is like kind of iffy not a good free throw per fre the shooter but I think there is potential there it’s not a bad looking jumper super duper athletic the best Advantage Creator and space Creator in the draft incredible in transition he’s just a dog and I think he’s this he’s going to be the SE draft wherever he goes and if you want to build with assets he’s the guy you should go for in my huh but once again that is not win out that is not a guy it would be really it would be like a thing out of left field which I wouldn’t be mad about as like a draft as a big isaah Coler guy but um that would be it would be wild at 13 in my opinion I like him he it would be the questions are with the shooting if you’re a guard who can’t shoot that’s scary to me um but he’s so young and talented and he’s got an NBA body I I like that aspect I like his confidence um there’s a lot there’s something there it would be it would be completely out of left field and it would be something I wouldn’t be mad about simply because I’m an Isaiah CER lover but it would be very confusing from what the Kings want to do with this team right like Isaiah Coler would be a pick where you’re still drafting like kind of conservative not conservatively but you’re still drafting like BPA but not like positional skill we got an update from sham chirania Oklahoma City is taking Nica topic number 12 overall that’s the gidy replacement that is the Josh KY replacement oh my God and now we oh my God okay the kings are on the clock too uh the the it’s not officially uh topit just yet but nula tow pitch is going to the Oklahoma City Thunder and they’re like hey you’re coming off an injury cool chill we’re good we can we can bring you along what what do you like about that pick for Oklahoma City it’s a really good spot for toit and um obviously they don’t really need anyone right now um they are really set on their rotation they’re really set on their guards um with Kus bringing in Caruso um but he’s a guy that I think could be really interesting in that like Josh gidy role as like that another initiator that they could have and he is a better scorer than Gat yeah he’s a worst playmaker but he’s a better score and um I have real questions about the defense but once again okay he’s a fantastic defensive team Shay G Alexander Alex peruso L Dort um jayen Williams chck holgren you have really good defensive pieces that will hide Nicola to so um yeah fitwise it’s there and it’s it’s it’s a smart pick Sam prey always drafts for the future yeah if you look at every single one of his picks especially in this range he looks at what they can become he doesn’t really look for wi now BPA type of players he always drafts younger so it’s a very s pressy selection it’s a Smart Pick and three years down the line I think it could be solid I once again not the highest on top pitch I think his ceiling is a lot lower than what people think he is because he’s really not a shooter he’s really not a Defender but the burst the rim pressure the playmaking is all really intriguing yeah and I mean you talk about how he drafts for the future it he’s put himself Sam prey has put this organization this roster in such a great position to be able king of asset management he is the king of yes no it’s it’s funny I was talking about him with deuce the other day and I’m just like how how can every GM try and mirror themselves after Sam presty what he does I understand it’s not apples for apples with every single organization you’re not going to have the same Long Leash with an owner or you’re just not going to have the same assets from the past or whatever it may be but at the same time like I feel like he’s he’s had the patience but he also has the smarts and all the above okay so the kings are on the clock uh well not officially yet but we we talked a lot about uh D connect is a guy that is still out there that was projected to go a bit higher here he is on the board um you you kind of talked about like what else does he do here’s the one thing we do know about Monty McNair is he’s big on I want shooting this guy can shoot but then the question is what else can he do he is still on the board at this point do you think Sacramento passes him up are the Kings trying to make a trade holy [ __ ] as an evaluator I hope they do I hope they trade the pick but um it’d be easy to talk myself in Connect because he’s such a fantastic shooter that’s something that every single team needs it would be fun to see him play but like it’s a C- selection you’re drafting a guy that won’t really appreciate as an asset you’re drafting a guy that will is is is in a position that we already have and you’re you’re he’s not really a Defender which we kind of need right it means you’re probably signing on to another year of harison barns as that four which I don’t think is a recipe for Success because as much as I love the guy he’s a fantastic person he’s a really solid offensive player when he’s aggressive he’s just not there defensively so um yeah I have I have genuine fears for these next two minutes like this is probably the most scared I’ve been for a draft since the baggley donic conundrum oh my God that’s not that my that was franchise altering this is kind of like this but this could also be to an extent franchise altering if if you look at it in the long term right because Jen Fox put it out there that he wants to see Improvement um obviously that’s just some negotiation tactic I don’t take any stock in that but the fan base wants Improvement you take a guy like connect yeah and why wouldn’t de want that too you know what I mean so this is a pivotal night for the Sacramento Kings so I hope they make a decision to choose a side choose a place and not be as conservative as they’ve been in the past we should note that if the kings are talking the Nets and Nets have been very active right trading Bridges they’ve resigned Nick Claxton today uh the other team apparently they’re talking to is the Washington Wizards about Kyle kosma that’s been reported forever uh the Wizards also made a trade earlier today with the Blazers they sent Denny ABIA to Portland in exchange for the 14th pick uh and Malcolm Brogden in a 2029 first round pick along with a couple of second round picks so both teams that maybe the kings are talking to are pretty uh active at this point we are just waiting and waiting uh the broadcast has not officially announced the Oklahoma City or did they officially announce it they did they they yes they did so the Kings will be on the clock officially now and here we go oh man brighten I am scared let me talk if you’re in the chat Let’s Get Good Vibes going give me a hell yeah give me a hell yeah give us something good tell me something good oh my God just everyone take a breath like don’t don’t what Morgan it’s a big deal don’t pre-think bad things no no we don’t get pre-ad here we’re not pread but there’s it’s an anxiousness it doesn’t mean it’s bad it’s just anxious you’re just like what’s going to happen PR’s been up uh for like three days in India yeah you know he hasn’t slept refresh refresh refresh I’m nervous I’m nervous I don’t like the cash consideration jokes that’s not happening oh my God please if that happens I’ll probably cry oh no if that if it was just cash I would log off there would be no continuing the broadcast oh wow whoa whoa whoa whoa so at the moment is gone there is no trade at the moment it looks like the Sacramento Kings are selecting Devin Carter number 13 overall in this draft okay we all as of right now as of right now we all we all like Devin Carter yeah we’ve all decided that um really he plays bigger than he is very interesting that that would be the direction that they’re going unless they’re moving other pieces other guards um thank God it’s not like w just saying connect W just saying the Kings have had significant trade talks around 13 but are focused on Devin Carter so hold on I’m just retweeting our pod right now so people can watch us live on social media talking about now holy [ __ ] we got a lot to go over talking well I’m glad I liked I really like Devin Carter um I think all of us were in the same place though because of all the rumors and everything going on that we were ready we were ready for the next move and the next move being trading for an established player obviously as of right now not seeing anything else they couldn’t get something done or whatever it may be this is not going to be a popular move it’s right tonight it’s not because the reality is you look at all the king’s weaknesses and you go wait a guard you know what I mean and you you’ve got dearn Fox right you mentioned Davon Mitchell you still have Kevin herder on the team Keana Ellis correct you know we just resign Malik Monk and you take a guy who I I love Devon Carter love where does he fit in this team where is he playing that’s what I’m trying to figure out in this one I have no doubt this guy plays like you said mot he was fantastic at Providence he’s a great defensive player but like more moves are going to have to be made if this is it you’re not you’re not this is not moving the needle to me propelling you in the west it’s just not and I look now all the moves have to be made tonight but we’re just dealing with what we know right now and if Devin Carter is the guy he’s a good player who’s going to last a long time in the NBA you’re just trying to figure out where does he fit with this team my question is is this a Tyrese hurn pick or a Davon Mitchell pick last time you drafted a guard and when you have a ton of guards it went two ways you got probably the most transformative player this team has drafted in a while that completely changed the course of the franchise right um and became a star level higher than a star maybe even Superstar something would call him or you got right one second PR NBA draft the Sacramento Kings select Devin Carter from Providence colle I’m thankful it’s not like a guy that we reached on that would um like I once again I know there are a lot of dog connect F but he doesn’t do the things that dein Carter does in both Sid Deon Carter is a much more complete player than dog connect and not just that I think Carter it makes sense why you draft Carter looking at what you got what they try to go for with Caruso right um Devin Carter and Alex Caruso are very similar players especially with the way they play defensively and um my thing is what does this mean about kobby Jones um kobby Jones and dein Carter are incredibly similar players yeah um I think Carter is probably the better player right now but K’s a better playmaker K’s probably more complete offensively Carter is better defensively but um what does this mean for Kobe Jones um my biggest critique of this front office has been their Asset Management they do draft BPA no matter what which is fine that’s how you should go and draft but normally when you draft BPA you still struggle in retaining the assets that you have at that position right draft DAV Mitchell High he hasn’t he’s depreciated as an N because he hasn’t been able to show off the skills you draft Kobe Jones with the potential that he’ll be something great but he will also sort of depreciate with Devin Carter here if you end up keeping him right he will play for sure he will be a piece you have a really really really good guard rotation right now but it’s it’s it’s confusing I I there’s a lot of things that need to happen because you still need a wing you’ve been needing a wing for like two three years and I think they and that still continues to be a need and I think they’re what they will probably say is they believe that he could defend NBA wings with his length and his physicality and and maybe he can a little bit but he’s still he’s not a wing he’s not I mean he’s he’s still I know he’s long 68 and a half Wings ban I believe um great rebounder I mean he Aver was nine rebounds a game last year he’s a dog he is I mean if you watch this guy play defense it’s disgusting and what’s good about is we all love davon’s defense but this guy has the length correct to contest right he he’s able he was a Steals and blocksy you talk about stocks we saw a lot of that from him at Providence it’s just again you’ve got a lot of guards here and you’re going did you address some some serious weak has that physical wingspan like we keep talking about but he also has the ability to get the deflections to use that basketball IQ on the defensive end um effort guy great energy all the things that we’ve already taled I mean someone that is averaging what you said nine rebounds a game as a guard it’s like he is getting in there he is being you know crafty doing whatever he needs to do to make sure that he is getting in position to get the rebound I again really like Devin Carter it’s another guard as of right now yep and His official Wings clear up the log on guards His official Wings band is 68 and 34 and we’re going to go down if they go have an interview with him we’ll check it out Malika Washington is sending Denny Adia okay we know about that so Washington is on the clock right now and Shams is reporting they’re going to go with Bob Carrington someone I really like fantastic Bing is going to go 14 to the washingt wizard some people projected him kind of in that range um we’re get we got a lot to go over tonight talking about this king’s draft pick we’re going to keep an eye on everything that’s going on keep you updated on on these draft picks but we’re also trying to make sense of what just happened with the Sacramento Kings we we saw some of the names maybe that they were connected with go a little higher they end up going with Devin Carter from Providence and I’m pulling up Sam vini’s kind of breakdown on him I think it’s good to to go over some of this stuff um honestly it’s he’s a fantastic player but it feels deflating yeah no in peral that is so fair to feel right now cuz like I’m I’m told even when deuce the other day was or like a few weeks ago was like Morgan you have to get to know Devon Carter a little bit more and I’m like another guard Deuce I don’t give a [ __ ] about another guard and then he started showing me more and more Devon Carter’s game I watched a game all the things and I’m like I really like Deon Carter and I still said to do so but I hope that they trade for an established player that’s not the case yeah and not like once again Deon Carter is a fantastic player but the question is is he for Sacramento right yeah um you have so many guards Davon Mitchell Kevin herder is still there Hy Jones you think is a guy Keon Ellis developed incredibly well where does Devin Carter slot in right you need to trade at least two of those cards yeah without doubt in my you Davon Mitchell if Davon Mitchell and Kevin her are on this roster from at opening night there are going to be a lot of problems on on on what’s going for right because you can’t really play like three of those guys together consistently and hope to field a long strong defense especially in the way that today’s NBA is going everyone’s getting bigger everyone’s getting longer the Kings seem to be going in the opposite direction and the reality is this too is like you’re adding another guard that means so you had the 13th pick that you could have traded no you select a player there okay so now you have that now if we’re talking about the Kings making Trad significant trades to address those weaknesses that we have all seen for the better part of a year and a half now it’s going to mean like a 28 2028 first round pick a 2030 we’re going to go out further and you’re going to have to risk a little bit there to make that swing at a player that you like but I’m with you guys like it’s it’s a really mixed feeling I did um a little p I did an interview with this Memphis Grizzlies uh website where they were doing like a mock draft and this was before monk resigned and it got to the Kings at 13 I said Devin Carter but my rationale was like Hey if you lose Malik monk maybe you make some other tweaks there like I like having a guy like Deon Carter on the team and I still it doesn’t take away how I feel about Devon Carter as a player but you’re just looking about how this is this this thing is currently constructed trying to figure out where are they trying to go here and like I I put myself in like dear and Fox’s shoes we had talked about this in the piece athletic like this is dearn Fox while he’s been in Sacramento has seen the front office draft Tyrese Alberton Davon Mitchell and now Devin Carter and that’s got to be deflating as we already said it has to be a bit you know what I mean like you’re going you wi go give me some way out you know um it doesn’t mean that I think Deon Carter can help this team but the reality is like other moves have to be made otherwise they’re going to be a playing team or looking in be the other moves I mean this is one of those situ ation where it’s like okay if you feel like this is the better guard that you want to go forward with um on your roster then what other guards are you trading what other moves are you making because if it’s deflating for anyone else that is out here then it’s definitely going to be deflating for someone like dearn Fox who maybe has been even a little bit more vocal about hey want to make sure we’re going in the right direction if I’m going to um it’s the frozen screen I know yeah yeah yeah oh yeah I’m I’m I’m bouncing around a little bit because my guy Bobby Gerald was uh joining us and he’s getting logged in and I was trying to I had this all set up earlier today but it’s uh you know after our thing froze it’s totally messed up how we’re doing the triple box so um I’ll get it all figured out yeah you will um you guys talk yeah but so pral like I think you and I like I think all three of us I think a lot of us feel the same way I would say the the only difference is I feel optimistic that it was Devin Carter that was drafted but I’m like under the impression like okay moves are going to be made well they have to be I mean you can’t yeah they sorry sorry go on prel yeah um man I mean I think he will be fantastic for this defense without a doubt I mean he’s a really good allal offender fantastic High motor great at recognizing things off ball as well he makes plays defensively will generate seal will generate blocks from well not not much obviously he’s a shorter guy but like he’s a really good guard shot blocker and um the shooting reminds me a little bit of Kobe Jones right first two years of college wasn’t really a shooter this year he developed a little bit but it’s still like not a complete jumber there’s a little bit of a hitch in a shot um The Hope is he develops that but like once again you’re seeing kind of a trend with Monte McNair and his drafting style of drafting really tenacious smart highq cards and struggle as Shooters um but but um man I I think that it makes sense with the Alex kuso interest that I mentioned earlier um he will be transformative for that defense it’s just you want to also develop Keon right you can’t it’ll be difficult to develop both because I don’t know if you can play both of them together I think you possibly can they’re both really really long they’re both really really good defens to be in tenacious but running a lot of three guard lineups again unless you make a trade and you need to make a trade Davon Mitchell Kevin hter Harrison Barnes I’m sorry you guys were fantastic Kings but like got to be got got got to get another Wing got to get a guy that can really help you on the backi so we’ve got pil with us and we’re lucky to be joined also at the moment by Bobby Gerald from hoop obsession. um the Kings just make a pick we were taking a look at your big board earlier I didn’t even look to see where Devin Carter was I was kind of focused on Ron Holland because he was in the Kings range at in mock drafts he ends up going number five overall but let’s focus on the Kings at 13 Bobby what what’s your reaction to this pick of Devin Carter yeah um you know I like Devin Carter I think you know you and I and and mo had talked earlier about Tim uh the first time when we originally talked to him maybe a month or so ago um you know he’s got the the long wingspan so you know people are looking at well he’s only 6’2 but he’s got that 68 and 3/4 wingspan you guys hearing me all right everything yeah okay yeah um so 68 and three quarter wingspan pel good to see you man um good to see you too right on um so don’t look at the 6-2 wing uh 6-2 height look at the wingspan um and he’s a tough guy I don’t know if you got how much you guys talked about all this stuff but um he set the uh draft combine record for the fastest three quarter Court Sprint in history and he’s that kind of an athlete 42 inch vertical um his father played in the NBA for a long time Anthony Carter and so he has the pedigree and you know he knows he knows what it’s about and I’ve heard that he’s you know a lot like Davon Mitchell in the sense that he’s a little bit of a perfectionist as far as his practice goes you a guy you almost have to drag out of the gym um so I think from that standpoint he fits in all the people who wanted a dog you know if he if he ends up staying on this team you got a dog here I don’t think there’s any question about that um you know the shooting is is going to be the thing was it real last year he he’s improved all the way all the way uh through the college ranks and I think shot it at like 37% from three last year so he’s one of those guys that um you know he’s he’s a gym rat which is something I’ve always been uh in favor of someone who loves the game of basketball so I think there’s a lot of positives we can you know we can look at here was a little deflating you know that Ron Holland went so early I was kind of hoping maybe there was a chance um so uh you know that’s it but perneel who was your who was your guy and and what did you you think um I at this point uh with with all the trades that all the moves that happen I wanted Cody Williams I wanted Ron Holland I wanted to Johan Salon um simply because their wings they’re long they’re athletic and they could really help like maybe not right away but once again you’re talking about Asset Management you’re talking about building a team to the extent of like OKC and all those teams that have all these assets where they can move really easily where the Kings really aren’t there yet right and also they can develop and play next to Keegan and sabonis um um so it was deflating seeing um all those guys go and then seeing us take another guard but I think Carter is probably the best guard to take if you’re going to take a guard without a doubt especially for the way this team is built um he is a really a transformative defender in a sense um he does everything on the defensive end um great smart player um great on the backline he averaged I think one block a game 2.8 stocks with 1.8 steals um High block percentage as a guard a lot of Derek white because he does everything I mean uh he I think the playmaking is solid I don’t I think people underrate him in that aspect he has good Vision he’s a smart player fantastic rebounder for a guard I mean you’re talking about nine rebounds ridiculous um and the incredible athlete I mean he’ll get you RI pressure instantly which is something this team needed this team needs Rim pressure because Fox is you know you’re seeing fox develop as like a mid-range score and he’s going a little bit away from his Rim pressure his Rim attempts every single year has decreased um so Deon Carter will add that other aspect and um he’ll play fantastically next to Malik Mon and it’s just once again roster construction wise this is not the right pick but talent-wise absolutely great pick right so you need to make moves outside of this you need to trade either Kevin her Kevin herder Davon or like HB to get a wing right it’s been something I’ve been saying repeatedly Bobby that well and going off of that Peril because Bobby that’s what I was wondering your opinion on that when you saw Devin Carter drafted at 13 are you under the impression that the kings are going to be very aggressive in making other moves since they are so guard heavy it seems pretty crowded you know you wonder about you know Keon Ellis and Colby Jones and you know it’s there’s just a a wealth of depth of guys that are similar uh right now so so yeah I mean ideally I think if you could flip one of those guards for uh you know last NE is saying you know someone who can get in that power forward a wing small forward power forward you know type type position uh someone with some length you know for me it’s been pretty simple for the Kings um you’ve got to get better and more efficient where Harrison Barnes minutes you know were um I would love to see Harrison Barnes if he does stick around on this team I’d love to see him be the guy who comes off the bench and and plays 15 16 minutes a game I think he’d be a top tier guy in that role U but I but I’m past the point where um you know he should be playing 30 minutes as a starter you know so I just think that’s the path to uh more efficiency I also believe that if uh monk just plays more you know last year um and really yeah right for the last two years it’s it’s like let’s get those minutes up you know let’s not leave things on the table here there’s um you know I’ve I’ve some this tune quite a bit people are sick of hearing it but you know a hit at uh at the end of the game and then overtime is could be a hit at the beginning of the game you know I mean why play with a hand tie behind your back if monk is good enough to finish and good enough to be your guy in overtime and he’s clearly one of your three or four best players for crying out loud why are we screwing around with not playing him as you know as many minutes as he should play and usually that starts with with starting a guy so I think the Kings can get better uh in that guard I think they could get better replacing Harrison’s minutes um with someone who’s more efficient and maybe now this is some more Capital that you have or some you know some something more to play with uh in your guard depth um that maybe open something up um you know you you obviously can’t can’t think they’re done no yeah and the cool thing with Devin Carter I think is it gives more opportunity to play monk in those three guard lineups um because of the length because of of the quickness because of the ability to play in the backline right he plays bigger than he is which is something as much as I love Davon can’t really do because of the size because of the uh size limitations right so if you’re swapping like direct swapping not thinking about who you’re adding at the wing direct swapping Carter for Davon in those minutes in those rotations you can play more three guard lineups with Carter Keon Monk and fox whatever three guard um combination you want right and I think if you keep cutter that is the team you’ll see you’ll see a lot of smarter but way more Scrappy lineups where you’re just going to be a bunch of dogs trying to get after the ball with Keon Fox and Carter hounding people on the perimeter which I think will be a joy to watch but um you can only do so much at the perimeter if you don’t have a guy in the backline being able to really lock down the lock down the pain a little bit play that back line defense play it at the nail which Barnes really can’t do so need to make some moves but Carter does excite me as a defensive prospect that can really develop this team’s identity at that per which we saw Keon at too right you can see identity forming on the defense of Carter and Keon and fox yeah I don’t think we’re going to have to worry about this not being a Mike Brown guy you know what I mean like oh yeah gonna be a Mike Brown guy and that’s a thing I mean don’t you guys think that’s a thing yeah oh there’s no doubt about it he has an expectation he wants guys that are going to get after it and you know watching Devin Carter what I you know just you look at the the numbers that’s fine but I was just more attached to to what he was doing defensively just blowing up screens I mean this guy is Relentless getting around screens you guys obviously saw more of them than I did do you think he can guard multiple positions in the NBA because of the length he has and the strength he has do you see him defending ones and twos could he defend a small forward depending on the matchup where do you think he kind of fits in there I think ones and twos and some of the smaller small forwards I mean you know at the end of the day you’re talking I say 68 and 3/4 wingspan so that is right I would say 69 is the wingspan of an average shooting guard on a winning team um I did that a a while back was I broke down all the the wings spans of everybody at the different positions in the NBA but just on the winning teams I don’t care what the losers do so uh and when you look at it it’s 67 for a point guard it’s 69 for a shooting guard it’s 611 which by the way is Dom’s Wings span that’s for small forwards that’s crazy and it’s 72 for power forwards and 74 for centers so that’s kind of give some people the idea of the deficit from a wing stand standpoint that that domas plays with each night and by the way you know getting back a little bit to the uh the dog thing I to me the Kings don’t have a toughness problem domas sabonis is a tough SOB you know what I mean like he’s I I just don’t know many players that are tougher than him now he might not show it he might not pound on his chest and yell at people and and do all that kind of stuff you know which maybe I don’t know if I’m getting my dog references confused here and I I kind of get what people mean but Davon Mitchell to me is a dog Trey lyes is a tough customer um sabonis is a is a really tough dude so um you know and now you’ve added another guy who I think has that mentality um you know to to really get after it so uh I like him I think it adds to the depth um I think you know he’s come a long way as an offensive player but you’re going to hang the Hat on the defense and I’ve been doing this a long time 26 years now actually this is my 26th uh draft believe it or not I started send sending out my little reports perneel when I was uh it was 1999 I sent out my first and no one paid attention to it at all there was I don’t even know we had the internet I guess we did um but yeah I sent it to like Jerry Reynolds and Danny a and a few other people and I I don’t even like Jerry’s cool enough that he you know let me know that he he read through it but like I don’t even know if Danny a ever saw it or not but anyway um the point is I’ve been doing this a long time and to see Devin Carter with a defensive rating that’s like I think it was 5.0 points better than the team defensive rating that’s a big number for a guard um which speaks to the kind of Defender and and Scrappy guy that you’re getting I want to update the last couple of picks too for those hanging out watching the draft going what the hell you going to tell me about the other picks just the Kings yeah we’re in Sacramento we’re going to talk some Kings of course but uh after we saw Devin Carter go to Sacramento Bob Carrington goes 14 to Washington Miami some talk about are they going to go with a guard they end up going with khil wear from Indiana they just agreed to a new deal with bam out of bio2 but khil wear is very intriguing and then 16 overall Philly they’ve got a lot of roster spots at this point they’re going with the Sacramento product Jared McCain is going to Philly at 16 that is just being announced right now by Adam Silver and that means the LA Lakers are on the clock maybe they go with Tristan D Silva um I guess uh just talking about Carrington wear and McCain anything jump out between those three right there those sele selections go ahead um uh yeah uh I talked a little bit about bub I think he’s a really good player and I think it’d be very good for him to go to Washington where he will get a good amount of onb reps he’s the type of guy that will need more development need more ingame being able to figure things out with the basketball right so um super duper smooth great score great pullup game but still very raw very uncertain a lot of things develop right he’s still growing and going to rebuilding team means he has the opportunity to grow um uh kle we real quick um I was a lot higher on him before like the last two weeks fell a little bit with some motor concerns but the heat are the perfect place for a guy to develop a love for basketball and really come together in that sense as a a motor a guy that really tries the culture for Miami is a perfect place and a perfect fit for kle wear right and with his tools that seven seven Wings spin seven foot the fluidity with which he moves and all the innate rimi Rim protection instincts and the shooting like the shooting flashes it’s a great pick I think it’s really solid um um Jake Fisher actually accidentally pointed out Jared McCain as the pick and it was really funny because he had made a mistake earlier I just want to point that out and his comments are roasting him I feel kind of bad for him but um uh Philadelphia with J McCain solid um they need another I think shooter I don’t think he’s a real Creator um he’s not he doesn’t have that burst um but uh he’s a team leader like I mean that guy when it comes to intangibles he’s the best guy in the draft and he’s a joy to really talk to see on Tik and see on social media apps and the shooting is undeniable probably the best catch and shoot guy in the draft it’s going to be a joy to watch him next to tyus Maxi and jolen beid you know feeding off of that those guys attention as like a catch and shoot guy reminds me a little bit of Patty Mills and um I think Philly’s a great place for him to go yeah I like khil wear uh quite a bit as well he would have been my second choice behind Devin Carter at that point you know when as far as what was left on the board um and and yeah that’ll be interesting to see how he does in Miami because you know they don’t play around with uh you know being in shape and and being a professional so good for him because you know I think there was a a lot of uh talk about him not being uh ready to be a great Pro after his freshman year up at Oregon uh and then he transferred to Indiana and we heard a bunch of good things that he um you know was locked in and so now you know if a team like the heat believe in you if Pat Riley’s giving you the stamp of approval that’s that’s pretty darn good in my book so uh and Jared McCain yeah what a you know he just seems like such a a great human being um you know a good kid and a great shooter for me you know I think he’s always going to be challenged defensively even though he tries hard you he just wasn’t he didn’t win the genetic Lottery um and so as much as that shot is there uh I think he’s always going to be a guy that’s going to have to you know the teams are going to pick on him they’re going to go at him and make him prove that he’s tough enough to you know to be an NBA guy but love the shooting and as perneel said love the uh love the intangibles with Jared McCain no doubt about it and Bobby I I asked you to come on and talk about the Kings pick too and I know you love watching the draft so if you need to dip out like go ahead uh I I completely understand too I’m like I’m over here they got to ask you about this guy this guy this guy this is your night and I want you to enjoy so I’m going I’m going to hang just a little bit more with you and then and then we’ll we’ll check out but yeah I have it on above here that’s why you keep seeing me look up like you’re like what’s wrong with his eyes we’re just hanging out this is just a hangout so I don’t care I just was being respectful of your time as by the way perneel is watching us hanging out with us live from India this morning he is what yeah oh that’s dope I know I know you little BB the world like technology is just dude so cool so cool oh man um with Devin Carter too I God it’s just I am so tonight you know cuz I I I’m with you guys I love him so much as a player I guess I just in my head was just thinking so much about a wing or a potential trade that Devon Carter after the king’s select or sign monk again I’m like they’re not taking a guard here they’re not taking a guard here but if he was on their board as best player available okay I I get it um it it just take the best player available and figure it out later that that is what I mean we we say that you guys we do say that every draft what do you guys think his ceiling is because to me I think his D white his ceiling is Derek white you’ll take that yeah yeah I would take that you’ll take that I’ll sign up for that I just think his I don’t I don’t feel like he’s gonna be like a terrible NBA player I think War’s case he’s a rotational guy he’s gonna be in the NBA for a long time yeah um I think in my opinion he’s the safest guy in the draft um simply because of how hard he works I think the shooting will translate um really worked on it throughout his time in Providence you saw genuine growth Year bye and I mean every single team needs a guy that will play every single play with the same amount of intensity yeah and that is what Devin Carter is right he plays every single play with a 100% um constantly going after loose balls I mean he’s like I saw a tweet that said he’s a 9010 guy not a 50-50 guy in those 50-50 balls that is absolutely the perfect way to describe him right he will go after every single night and the defense is undeniable that will translate without a doubt in my mind right and with the Mike Brown fit he is really like a Mike Brown type of guy I think Devin Carter is like I Davon Mitchell upgraded in the best way to put it right because he will give very similar things to Davon on that end with the on ball pressure the defensive talent but also give you other things with his ability to be a weak side shot blocker as a guard really good as shot blocker really good as a rebounder right and and the shooting stuff is probably a little bit better than Davon because of he he was a better freut thr shooter in college than Davon was dve was around 60% I think Carter was around 75 74% right which obviously is not great but it’s still like an upgrade over um davo he showed growth every single year in shooting so still I have Bobby what about what about two him being like an older rookie you know three years of college ball and we keep talking about like being a Mike Brown guy I just feel like the mature uh of what Mike Brown would want with this roster right there too yes uh Dalton connect finally goes to the Lakers there uh yeah Morgan I I agree um so he he was uh he had his 22nd birthday March 18th um so yeah 22 years old and then again you know his dad was a point guard in the NBA Anthony Carter and so just from growing up in the NBA and being around the players and the gyms and the lifestyle and understanding the demands and all of that I you know he’s he’s readymade to come in as pernil said a very safe pick in that regard um 37% of his three-pointers this year 74.9 uh at the free throw line um one of the things that that I always look at actually a couple things I referenced it earlier the defensive rating was a full 5.0 points better than the Providence team defensive rating and to me that’s uh one of the best indicators is to look at a team’s defensive rating and then see you know the off and on um 1.34 to1 assist to turnover ratio which is solid for a shooting guard not great but you know solid um we we mentioned the athleticism and then the other uh analytic piece that I look at a lot is box score plus minus because it’s just you know pure off and on and so you know the Big East had Donovan cling and all the guys from Yukon Carter finished second in Big East uh box score play plus minus he was sixth in the entire NCAA in that category so you’re talking about a guy again who’s affecting not just on defense but also offensively um truly a two-way player not in the sense of g-league NBA but two Le two-way as in the sense of offense and defense so um I think the whole thing is going to be whether or not he shoots it you know whether or not he can shoot the three-pointer uh from NBA range at that continued 37% if he can then um he’s going to be in good shape and looking at his numbers last year he started at South Carolina last two years at Providence last season average just under 20 points a game averag 8.7 rebounds 3.6 assists 2.7 turnovers one block in just under two steals per game shot 47% from the field 37.7% from three-point range and then the free throw percentage that you guys both mentioned just under 75% from him his dad of course played 13 years in the NBA and is currently an assistant coach with the Memphis Grizzlies Anthony Carter so yeah I I think Kings fans are just they’re going to love Devon Carter like he’s going to be a fan favorite you can already see it at Golden One Center when he’s diving on the floor for a loose barall getting a reap he’s just an energy guy like you will love how this guy plays he I mean he he plays kind of the way he looks right I mean he’s got the the crazy and was he’s like Richard Jefferson shirtless tonight was you know whatever these kids kids as the young as the young kids say as the young kids say he has Aura he absolutely has Aura yeah yeah so um Sacramento yes 100% I think they will love them some Devin Carter and I think the other reality and this is always tough to say on a night like this where you know fans and we’re all sitting here going wait try is something going to happen kma this this this it’s like this is the NBA draft right like trades can still happen tonight they can happen tomorrow and day two the first ever day two of the draft you’ve got free agency coming up trade season this is transaction season the next few weeks so it doesn’t mean that this is the final team it doesn’t mean hey kings are opening up with 17 guards coming up in October that does that that not necessarily going to be the case um but I am fascinated to see how they build this up because they definitely have a lot of guard yeah they must have their yeah this this is an interesting stat Carter averaged more rebounds than Clingan and Philip palski so you really do get a transformative rebounding guard at um at at Pi 13 and that was an area I think we struggled with outside of sabonis you don’t really have any high level rebounders bars is not a good Reb let’s be completely honest hegan solid but Carter gives that other aspect as he crashes the board he just gets after which is really really fun yep 100% I’m with it um the pick is in from Orlando Adam Silver going to the stage number 18 overall will be Tristan D Silva from Colorado Jak Fisher got something right what’s oh Jake fiser actually got that one okay um yeah that’s funny yeah I had heard 17th or 18th I kind of thought that’s where the Silva would land there’s a lot of people that really love him I think he’s super solid just solid like Call of solid right as Jason Ross would say um he’s uh he I mean he shoots it uh good free throw shooter all that kind of stuff um you know he just yeah he his defensive rating was I think even with with his team’s defensive rating and I so that’s where I I was I kind of was maybe a little less on Tristan to Silva than other people I thought he would be a late first rounder um but you know we’re at that point and this draft was crazy crazy that way like where there was definitely guys that you could make Arguments for in the teams that might get picked in the 40s and vice versa you know so um it it’s all over the place there there’s definitely a few guys uh remaining that are sleepers to me Jonathan mobo from San Francisco is someone who I really like yeah he can’t shoot at all but he’s like a point Center um and uh so he’s interest green coed yeah and uh Enrique Freeman um from akan like some un real Underdog dudes um that I I’m just hoping one of them somehow to the 4 is one of my guys dude yeah he’s another one like he ended up I do a thing um called the checklist where I check all the important stats to me and he he was one that truly checked the boxes you know there’s everyone talks about that he checks a lot of boxes and then you go back and look and you’re like not on my not on my chart he does it so but this is a guy isah Crawford definitely from Louisiana Tech that does check the boxes he knows how to play there’s no question about it’ be another good sleeper to to keep an eye on there at 45 I do have a teeny bit of inside knowledge that the Kings like Jamal shed I or at least I know someone in the King’s organization really likes Jamal shed okay so could you imagine that another another guard at 45 no actually I can you know what I’m going to say yeah why not hey everyone’s going big at this point we go small um he what one thing too on on D Silva I mean you think about for Orlando they need shooting and that guy can shoot it and God they’ve got a lot of size I mean you think about Vagner B Caro you had the Silva to the mix I like that pick for Orlando it’s really funny that every single team is going towards sides you have Orlando Minnesota Utah all getting bigger all getting bigger guys and then we out here have seven guards on our roster nice all all I’ve asked for even going into this draft I kept telling Deuce I’m like hey a lot of like a lot of things were exposed against the Pelicans you saw what they couldn’t accomplish against length well if they add some length they’ll be able to do some other things in the NBA like you just you need length develop length like in in let’s get length and 100% And it’s just you know they didn’t listen to me well they got something L at a guard spot I mean but even and even even that’s the thing I think if if there are people in the chat who haven’t seen Devin Carter go actually watch some of his game because when Duce told me he was 6’2 I was like ah [ __ ] and then I saw him and I was like wow this guy really does play so much bigger than 62 and he knows how to utilize his wingspan and I just I truly I’m with you guys I love so much about his game um but yeah that that g that position that G is going to really screw with some people until some other moves are actually being made so um I would say for people that are like feeling upset or mad like don’t get pre-ad don’t get pre-ad oh yeah no you can’t you got to roll with the punches here I mean with the with this team especially you know it’s it’s uh there’s there’s still lot of time to to make things happen and to do things we this is far from a a completed project so and it’s not like they weren’t trying you know I mean they they tried to get uh Alex Caruso it just didn’t happen so yeah I mean and that’s that’s the thing Bobby A lot of people are like so sick of like the oh the almost trades and here’s my question when can we get mad yeah no I hear you but I’m also like for all the fans I kind of push back on that just a little bit because it’s like it wasn’t that long ago that you had one of the biggest Blockbusters you could possibly imagine you know what was it two seasons ago and some when you pull the trigger on the deal that get you get you some bonus so um people have short memories and I want the Kings to be good in you know this year but I want them to be good in 2028 too you know and I don’t I don’t necessarily think you have to mortgage your future to just make a deal for the sake of making a deal I mean um you make deals when when the right pitch comes you know what I mean when it’s when when it’s so when it’s domos you know deal like that where uh he felt like this was something that I just have to do is too good to be true almost and um and so he did the deal um I I just don’t think you you make deals just for the sake of making deals and so you know I’m glad that we didn’t hear anything about there were a few guys like Jeremy Grant someone who who who doesn’t interest me um I’m not the biggest kozma guy Nei I yeah so he’s a 33% three-point shooter you know that’s nine attempts too right like it’s not like he’s shy about it you know and he’s 28 years old and I I worry a little bit about what the chemistry might look like there when you you got a guy the Kings don’t need more scoring they they need they need a guy who can play almost like the four spot that you don’t even have to run any play for that’s just you know running around getting rebounds and cutting and slashing and dunking and playing defense I to me that’s what the kind of guy that we need we need someone who will get the rebounds that Harrison just can’t get anymore Ron Holland I wanted Ron Holland so bad yeah my thing with CZ is like I I hear you guys because I the shooting for sure and sometime the shot selection is not great part of me is like yeah you get him in a winning environment again and you know he he’s tight with Fox and his athletic ability I I know he likes pushing the ball he can be a nice playmaker can you tap into something there defensively where it’s like a little better there there’s some stuff I could and his contracts like pretty reasonable too right no that’s where I liked it I’m with you deuce on that like um it’s a he’d be an upgrade from Harrison like if it was just Harrison that’s an upgrade on offense that’s an upgrade on defense in my mind um but again I just wonder so you that’s good now that you know though that fox and CZ are are cool they’re that yeah that’s what I’ve heard I’ve heard theyve got a good relationship but that could be big I worry about I worry about the buyin for kman especially on defense he chose not to go to m the Mavericks who ended up making it to the finals um he chose to stay in Washington despite getting singar offers for like contending bigger teams I think he likes the spotline I really think he likes being able to be the guy that can just shoot a bunch of shots how much every he wants and being in a situation in Sacramento he’s the fourth option right yeah you have Fox you have monk you have Keegan you have probably domas ahead of him too he’s the fourth scoring option maybe fifth scoring option and I wonder how much will actually buy in right pral I think since he experienced such [ __ ] basketball last year with the Wizards like in chaos I’m sure I don’t know but I would I would think that his mindset would shift like uh this actually wasn’t as fun being the guy on a bad and losing every single night you know like where where sometimes fun basketball is I mean basketball is fun when you’re playing as a team when the ball’s moving it’s flowing it’s not just having it in your hands and especially when you’re playing with unselfish guys and you’re not just it’s like dear and domas it’s you’re not playing with Katie and book you’re not playing with Kyrie and Luca like where where they’re gonna just be ball dominant they’re willing sometimes to pass too much so it’s like yeah like but the but but my Counterpoint to that is he had he played in a winning environment in like a ball moving environment in LA right my my point is I think he his mind shifted since experience washingt experiencing Washington he he he got a lot of [ __ ] for playing in LA from the fans right um because because he struggled a little bit here and there and La fans are ruthless so I think that might also have a bad taste in his head but obviously we’re speculating here we have no idea what goes on he no idea but um but I’ll say this he does I guarantee you Kyle kma doesn’t think of himself as the fourth option on on you know what I’m saying so that’s being 28 years old and the way he likes to get his Jacks in you know I just think I just don’t know I just don’t know that that’s who’s the upgrade you know that’s I like who’s the upgrade because then you start going to like different names I know you’ve mentioned Obi toppen as someone uh you know Jaylen Smith has been brought up his teammate to like how do you upgrade that spot because like I’m with you guys I think we’re all I think most fans agree it’s like that spot has to be more athletic there has to be a little more versatility there some length how do you upgrade it before you answer we just want to uh throw out there jacobe Walters headed to the Toronto Raptors with the 19th pick and the Cavs are now on the clock um I I guess like how do you upgrade that spot is the question I I I really think that Obie would be a great answer you know I I’ve been pounding this drum but it’s you know he’s a 40% three-point shooter so that’s significantly better than kma gives vertical spacing which we need yeah and uh right and and he’s not I like his personality like I think he’s the kind of guy who could come in and he doesn’t know any better he’s never been a starter right he was behind rightfully so behind Julius Randall in New York rightfully behind Pascal SE yakum in Indiana um and now I think it’s at the point where he’s 25 26 years old and it’s time for him to be a starter he according to my uh who Obsession calculations uh by position he grades out as like a low tier starter at this point that’s an upgrade from Harrison Barnes that’s an upgrade on offense that’s an upgrade on defense it’s a guy who wouldn’t disrupt I don’t think the chemistry of fox zonis monk Keegan um I think kozma there’s a chance that kozma could really stifle some of Keegan’s um productivity um you know they kind of play similar positions and because kozma’s gonna take so many shots uh you know I just think I just think Obie would be that really nice guy um to to go make a run at and you know I the financials and all that kind of stuff that’s not for me that’s not my area of expertise I don’t I I don’t know all that I think adding Obi would also give you like another incredible Athlete on the team Deon car is incredible Malik monk is incredible Jared Fox is incredible you’re really adding a ton of athleticism at the forward position which I think you need and um he’s a guy that will play his role and another guy that comes to mind I talked about this before but it’s cam Johnson and um obviously the Brooklyn Nets want picks we have players we don’t really have picks but cam Johnson is another guy that will fit the role he is probably he would be fine playing the fourth option he shoots the basketball well he’s a smart capable Defender um and one thing I find interesting is with Devin Carter Keon El dear Fox Keegan Murray you’re sort of drafting not for Rim protection but Rim deterrence all these guys will limit paint touches right meaning you can somewhat you’re you’re starting to see the Kings develop a roster or you can somewhat get away with not having like a true rim protector at the four because you have all these incredible guard Defenders that will just limit the pain touches that will limit the drives right down the middle right and will force people to go Baseline and with that opportunity cam Johnson would fit in he’s not the Best Shot blocker obviously but he is a smart defender on the nail he’ll disrupt plays he’ll play his role and and he won’t get beaten off the dribble like HB does so um he’s another guy I think we should keep a lookout on as a potential option if Brooklyn will take The Herder DAV on whatever um deal that we have dangling right now I love when we throw the you know what’s funny too you guys I was telling Deuce this yesterday I was like I was like after you see even someone like Mel Bridges in how much uh future picks that the Knicks had to give up for Bridges who has never been an All-Star which by the way I would give my left arm for Mel Bridges to come here to Sacramento so so like but my point was is that I feel like no matter what everything’s going to be expensive and I know you said it Bobby you’re like you know I don’t want to I don’t want to jeopardize the future I feel like we’re going to get into a point where it’s like you do need to you you need to risk the future just so you’re making sure you’re your timeline with dear and sabonis uh and even Keegan in his development like it just all and and Monk and his in his new contract like just so it all makes sense like I think there might come a time when we’re talking hopefully that we’re talking about a trade where it’s like the Kings had to give up so much but it’s what you had to do PJ Washington Dallas had to do the same thing just to get PJ Washington everyone um okay but so so I’m glad you said that so so Morgan I hear you 100% but but let’s look at that let’s look at PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford I mean neither one of those guys are great right they’re they’re kind of a couple guys and so that’s that’s what I’m saying and they catapulted Dallas all the way to the Western Conference Finals um you know obviously on the heels of Luca and Kyrie but nevertheless it wasn’t working they did a little bit of tinkering and they added these guys so you know but the Mavs had to give up a lot for PJ Washington they gave some some picks to the future I guess but that’s my and I remember I remember the chatter around that was like oh they to give a lot for PJ Washington I would have given up that much blah blah here’s the bottom line the bottom line is they got there it well they got there and it’s like that people are going teams are going to have to give up a lot sometimes for even some of these players that you don’t think you need to give up much for and that’s right whether it’s azma or Cam Johnson or whoever I just think there will be more of a future being a little bit uh jeopardized or taking a little risk there especially for the Sacramento Kings I don’t know though who I’m speculating no absolutely and I hear you and I think that’s you know the fans want something to happen and they they want to you know make a trade and and get something done right now today um but but again it like if if you start Malik monk you ought to be better I mean he’s healthy so we lost some some games to him and herder at the end of the year you still won 46 games so you know and and how many of those games did you lose to by a free throw here a free throw there uh a stupid Rotation by the coach yeah um right so so monk uh you know we get we get Monk in the starting lineup we’re we’re not playing with a hand tied behind our back you get a guy like OB actually plays almost every single game right yeah and and uh right you’re not jacking around with Keon Ellis bringing him back from Stockton and stuff like that so I to me there’s there’s a path you’re 46 wins and and I’m just saying I guess my point is Dallas gave up a lot to get a couple of guys that to me are just okay guys and yes it did push them over the top but maybe you don’t even have to do that maybe maybe there’s a way you can do it you know a little addition by subtraction somehow Harrison is is I love Harrison but somehow he’s traded or whatever yeah and and uh maybe you attach some draft Capital to that and that gets you you know the your your your wing that you’re looking for someone to replace his minutes um but I’m just not sure that you have to go that the Kings have to go crazy to be a little bit better better to a lot better and and again I want them to be good in 2028 and 2029 and you know all through I just don’t want them to get in one of those situations where you’ve given away all your draft capital or your roster is constructed that you’re in luxury tax territories and and stuff like that because um you know you’re trying to build a super team when really you’ve got some really good players and pieces here right now just needs to be a little something right a little something that can replace those those Harrison minutes give us some more efficiency and then we keep on trucking down the road and I guess that would require some more patience from the the fan base um and nobody has that in 2024 I’m the old guy here no I I’m with you on a subtle tweak at that four spot could go a long way for Sacramento and if if you can do that you also hope I think that they’re betting on is that Keegan can take a jump and if Keegan you know who knows what he’s doing this off season he’s we know he’s in the gym always working if he’s able to develop his game and his offense even more than he did last year and be more efficient than obviously he was in his second year then that kind of changes things for Sacramento too it’s just I I think they they they almost need that right they need Keegan to be like a legit scoring option and still provide what he was able to provide defensively last year with with the dev Carter pick it just means Keegan is all the more more Spotlight on Keegan muray and I think another foil to Devin Carter that just will go under the radar is if Fox ends up being gone for whatever reason once again this is just a very small probability Devin Carter’s fantastic Assurance right um you’re still having like a super young talented guy that can come in and play really well and developed really well and it just gives more Assurance cuz Fox is unknown obviously I fully believe he’ll resign I fully believe he’ll stay in here for forever because I obviously he’s our franchise guy but it just adds more Assurance in that in that sense of like you still have a guy in the wings that can take over if need be I I sure hope he’s here for a long time and the only thing about that that that scares me a little bit is is the rich Paul angle because Rich Paul you know he’s got designs on big things for all his clients you know and he might think if Fox wasn’t in Sacramento if Fox was in a bigger Market maybe he would be getting some more votes for Allstar maybe he would be getting some more all NBA votes and stuff like that and that affects pocketbooks um you know in this day and age so the rich Paul angle is the part I don’t I think dearen would be fine here you know he looks like he likes Sacramento and would love to be here U you know long term as evees Mei goes to the uh New Orleans Pelicans here I’m just getting a look at yeah and another guy Jaylen Tyson California Califoria brookley Al oh yeah who who what pick was that who had that that was Cleveland 20 20 to Cleveland yeah Cleveland yeah Jaylen Tyson gave us a reason to watch cow this year it was like what we’re watching cow games what the heck that hasn’t happened in a while we got Andre there next year Andre so yakovich that’s right I for he transferred I will be I will be at hos Pavilion a ton watching gay all there 100% Bobby he got into Berkeley perel got that’s dope yeah super dope congrats I’m automatically I’m automatically a Jaylen Tyson fan simply because simply because he is a brookley Allen without a doubt that’s cool you gonna live in the dorms and stuff there or or you got housing or yeah yeah um gonna live in the dorms I have like family there too so it was it’s I’m I’m majoring in data science so it’s like a top it’s the top one school for my major 2 was just a perfect situation sports sports industry is good there I can get connections ton of stuff with where I want to go in the future sweet you remember your uh your little minions like me and do Mo when when you rule the world right absolutely absolutely right on right I’d say that to do Mo too actually what I what we need is we need some of Mo outside shooting I you know I I’ve seen those highlights Morgan killing Satur it’s so funny because like for me my shot my release is just so much lower cuz I’m so I’m not as strong as I used to be and my handles are so sorry like my left hand is UN looks pretty good to me well thanks I it’s just it’s funny when you just don’t play anymore and you’re and you’re just you just used to be so much better it’s so sad I just I wish oh my God there’s like a part of me that wishes I just kept playing every single day but oh are you hey per are you reacting to a trade is that what you’re reacting to right now yeah Denver traded up Denver traded up to 22 to take Don Holmes and another thing um Devin Carter’s number two in the US on Twitter and trending which is really funny wow wow it has to be the look it’s got to be the look right it’s 100% the Providence fans they are going crazy on Twitter I guess because he is number two in the US in in trending on Twitter which is pretty ridiculous wow that is ridiculous so it looks like the trade is going to be the Nugget sending the 28th pick the 56th pick and two future second round picks to the Phoenix Suns who could use all the assets possible because they gave up so much um and Denver has been connected with Don Holmes a lot in mock drafts and they get size yeah I really like I had him I had him in the top 10 actually I think with his skill set the the the shooting Talent room protection his touch his his ability screens and play as a rle man play Within Pig and Pop um and I think uh we’ve seen guys like he can develop as like lateral movers if he can develop as that he would be a fantastic for he’s a tweener my biggest concern is what is his role at the NBA level he’s too small to be a five is he fast enough to be a four but with that coaching staff with that coaching staff with playing with Nicola yic I think he can develop in that aspect I think it’s a great spot for him and I think he’ll start off as like the backup five for sure and um Aon Gordon gives a lot of sides at the four position so you can see him not struggle as much but um he has a ton of room to grow there with yic as like an underst so it’s a great pick I think it’s a perfect fit and I I’m really excited to see how he will play moving forward yeah I was one of those guys I it was right there with you as far as I grappled all year with is he a four is he a five is he a four is he five his body is there’s some flashes of like switchability but it’s is he fast enough yeah I agree he he has a body of a four but when I watched him I was like I’m watching a center you know that’s that’s kind of where and and if if he did move a little more fluidly and I really believed he was more of a four I probably would have had him you know higher on my board I think I ended up with him 15th you said you had him 10th he ends up going 22nd here um but just overall a really skilled guy another guy who man if you look back I’ll read you guys this um off of my website just because it’s kind of funny all the all the stuff that uh Ron Holmes did um I remember in writing this report so uh this season Holmes led the Atlantic 10 in scoring rebounding shot blocking field goal percentage effective field goal percentage true shooting percentage free throws made free throws attempted and he led the A10 and box score plus minus the last two years so I mean that’s that’s a dude that’s a that’s a player for you right there you know they I mean he’s the the Atlantic 10 is what it is it’s not the greatest you know conference or anything like that but you’re talking about a real offense defense guy who was affecting um you know good quality basketball in a lot of different ways in Don Holmes and I feel like from Denver’s perspective where they’re at too they’re in a pretty compromising spot with the salary cap with this new apron rule where they they got to get guys on on better deals and so finding someone that you can give a contract that’s you know guaranteed at a reasonable rate at number 22 and not just like drafting a rookie someone that I believe they they think can play right away that you could slot in there and give them some meaningful minutes is big for Denver trying to keep this going and kind of stay in Championship contention because this is getting tough for them you know kyp is a free agent are they going to be able to keep him with what you know he’s going to cost that could move him in the second apron territory so this team building is so important and to get guys on rookie deals that can help you now is vital especially for the for these teams that were trying to win yeah 100 100% it’s that was a big part of the Pacers roster construction um that it that has worked well for them as they have all these guys on you know their rookie rookie contracts and um like I like I said that’s just not my so I need to sit down with you guys and get some some cap knowledge you know about this apron and all this kind of stuff maybe at maybe at Summer League you guys go school me on on some of that yes are are you going to Vegas hell yeah I’ll be there go July 11 through the 17 I come back from India like four days before summer league starts I will be sleeping for like all those four days let’s be honest jet lag when you come back is ridiculous oh yeah Vegas at at age 18 or 19 probably isn’t the probably isn’t isn’t the greatest you you want to give it a couple years and then when you absolutely it’s absolutely in my in my plans to make it out of Summer League once I once I get a little bit older and make make a little bit more money to mat for myself oh my gosh you have to it’s just pral like you will nerd out on so much basketball oh my gosh it’s that’s it’s like people always ask like because I get excited about about going to Vegas for summer league and people like yeah Vegas and I’m like no no no screw Vegas I just I love that you just have hours and hours of basketball and it’s all in this one place and and you don’t have to get hot because really as soon as you get into the gym it’s all air conditioning and then uh Thomas and Mac and there’s like there’s like everyone in the industry there too it’s like especially as someone that’s want to like move up in the Sports World so like for me that’s absolutely on the books that’s something I want to do because that’s just that’s just some place where I can just meet new people meet new people that are in the world of basketball and make new connections make build really build my network 100 if you’re a young if you’re young and a go-getter and you want to make connections that’s definitely uh the place to do it there’s there’s no question about it that’s one thing I feel like that and uh hoop Summit is something that I’m really interested as well yes yes up in Portland no no question about it yeah I love Vegas I can’t wait to can’t wait can’t believe it’s already it’s already here man you know just uh I’ll give you a bit of advice if if you would know Sean Cunningham just stay away from stay away from Cunningham and his Libations yes at the chandelier bar oh I know that i’ I’ve done that very same thing with him did you eat the did you drink the one with the flour Mak every drink the that numbs your Tong tongue it’s a stupid flower that numbs your tongue in a drink and he just like it’s his favorite thing to to tell people to drink it’s hilarious yeah but yeah so Sean is so funny yeah and I he’s never got me with any of that stuff I’ve just heard the stories so yeah I figured I’d pass that along but yeah so many uh so many cool people walking around and different things to do and just non-stop basketball and you get to to to you know see all these guys that you’ve looked at on tape and and really there’s there is nothing better than seeing these guys in person you know I know as much time as I’ve spent on the draft um this year there’s going to be two or three guys that I’ll go to summer league and I’ll be like gosh darn it why didn’t I rate that guy higher you know what someone’s gonna someone’s gonna wow you or do something that you know you’re just like there’s just no there’s nothing better than seeing players live and in person you can’t duplicate it the year that Palo banero was drafted and I got to sit at the scores table for was it King’s magic yeah the classic overtime game between Bano and Murray going never forget and I remember just being like I had no idea poo bangero was actually this big like he he is just a beast in person and I was like didn’t know that and I’m so glad I know this going into the season because it just it gave me just even a different perspective on someone who already such a good basketball player 100% yeah he he walked in the gym last year not playing I was like he grew again I remember tweeting that I was like this dude is massive and then you see little things like I was I tweeted earlier tonight I’m gonna miss seeing Jerry West you know Jerry West he’d be there from the tip off of the first game you know all through the day sitting down there on the Baseline in his seats and um you know it just uh just seeing some of the icons and you’re walking around in a hotel lobby and it’s like hey there’s the Matrix sha Marion hey there’s Sam casselle there’s you know all these different guys that that you’ve kind of grown up you know watching and and admiring and and there they are right in front of your face it’s just um it really is an amazing time and something to look forward to and now we’re gonna get to look forward to seeing some Devin Carter dude out there I think the Kings play maybe I’m not supposed to know this but I think they play first day Friday uh and then they’ll have the weekend off and they’ll play again uh I think three times that week Monday Wednesday Friday so that sounds accurate yeah yeah that’s what you guys heard too that’s what I’ve heard yeah okay see and I can’t get in trouble because I’m not paid by them so um I can I can spill some beans every once in a while yeah then you got the California classic before that so yeah it’s something completely off topic but um a frier is like another religious related thing so we now have Monk and a frier and also is a place of worship so amazing that’s great for now so a monk and a frier that’s hilarious I heard people saying they thought we should get a castle for the you know for the king so that would have been cool so donon Holmes ends up going to Denver we know that right now the Bucks are on the clock with about two minutes ago with the 23rd pick then you got the Knicks on isah clier goes here that’d be kind of awesome I’ll be honest yeah I was I thought maybe he was a candidate to go to Phoenix before they end up trading down man what a what a difference it makes too from the beginning of the year to right now like if you looked at mock drafts and stuff right at in September yeah Isaiah Coler was one two three on a lot of people’s boards and and you know it it just shows you again what a difference a season can make remember like remember like two years back Kendall Brown was like in the top 10 for like most of the mock grafts and then he like fell all the way into the second round yep and now he’s kind of like yeah where where is he is he I think he’s in Indiana does that sound right yeah plays with the g- league he’s he’s still very raw but um I I liked him to an extent in 2022 but um yeah talking about Coler um I’m still very high on him I love the tools that he has love the athleticism he is the best space creator of the draft in my opinion he will create advantages like nothing super quick where transition he’s just a dog and defensively there are questions on his stiffness and his body movements he struggles screen navigating which will be a problem in the NBA um I think but he’s a great communicator he’s a really is a big motor guy and the playmaking is really underrated I think he has great vision I’ve seen him make live ball passes like nothing and um the turnover aspect is a bit of a problem with how USC was constructed I think USC did have no favors with the fact that they had like three guards on the floor at all times um yeah with um uh with with Boogie Ellis like Ronnie James and and another guy I’m forgetting his names but yeah they they did really know favors and I think at the NBA level if he can develop as like a shooter he will be a fantastic player um there’s a good number that I indicates like maybe some help as a shooter he struggled somewhat at The Rim he struggled as a finisher but 37% in pull-ups and I mean 37% on kenchin shoots and there was some intriguing flashes a pullup jumper with um I posted a couple on Twitter actually but um he he is my guy in this shaft I have him at four in my big board I’m super high on him and he needs to go to a place with structure I think if he ends up going to milwauke that’d be perfect well breaking news from Shams you do want a spoiler I can give you a spoiler it’s not going to be him it’s going to be Aj Johnson from Australia’s NBL via Fresno California ilar that’s according to Shams hour is a guy I just couldn’t get there with he’s he’s got the shot Creation in the shake um he played really well one day of the combine Aj Johnson did but he’s young and uh you know he’s he’s young and athletic and uh he can really dance with the ball and so you know maybe he’s one of those guys uh but I think he definitely needs some time um really limited numbers in Australia and the numbers weren’t that great um so it’s it’s it a little bit of reach I find it curious that they didn’t take it Defender especially point of attack Defender Johnson just isn’t there as a Defender right now um I didn’t get to watch a ton of him but from what I watched I saw like he’s fluid he’s a good athlete um and but he’s still raw like there’s some flashes here and there once again I don’t watch too much of him but I from what I know he’s just not really a Defender and I don’t see the fit especially late in the draft and talent wise yes but he’s still a project so as a team that’s contending I don’t see it but once again I don’t have too much Insight on Johnson so you have to fil me and if I’m missing on anything I just you know they’re going to try to say he’s a point guard but you know he’s I don’t think he’s a point guard he barely had more assists than turnovers super aggressive um in his four Rays to the basket um I think he will benefit from playing with better athletes that are capable of playing fast in the NBA and he does have that quick twitch you know athleticism that that others simply just don’t have 38 inch Max Bert um you know I said I foree someone gambling on Johnson early in the second round it ends up it’s late in the first round I just think he has a long way to go but if the skills ever catch up to you know his athletic ability as a runner and jumper you might have some I’m surprised they didn’t go after one of those like defensive guards I could have seen them taking like a Jamal shot simply because how much of a dog he is on the point of attack or oryan Dunn would have been transformative for them especially since they need like someone that can really move on the perimeter because Dame struggled Malik Beasley struggled and it really affected them defensively um you saw it with like how tyres hon was able to force them and inces Andrew Dem hard in the playoffs so um yeah I that’s probably one of the more Curious picks in the draft I want to see how that plays out with where they put him if they choose to put him in the G League or maybe bring him off the bench as some sort of like low impact guard um but yeah they still also have like Andre Jackson who I think is a very intriguing Prospect that’s like a guard Off the Bench that is beening defensively but also need some developmental minutes and developmental time so looks like we’re going to have a trade by the way uh looks like we’re going to have a trade according to wge the the Knicks are trading the 24th pick to Washington we don’t have the details George it’s gonna be kesan George going to the Washington I love kesan George so they got kesan George and tonight earlier they got uh bub didn’t they get BB earlier too that was the other yeah they’re loading up on these raw raw raw younger that are still growing into their bodies Kean George was a former point guard that grew a ton and is now 67 610 wingspan I mean shooting length fluid athleticism age all there um I really love the flashes that he showed he’s super young he has like passing Talent you see the vision you see the handle um and and I I have questions on his defense obviously I don’t think he’s quick enough to really guard like super athletic wings but he still plays with motor and plays with like int and I really do like that selection I think Washington is coming out as my winner so far I love the picks that they made they’ve been super aggressive and they’ve really gotten after some players that I really do like and for the Knicks they just mov down two spots the pick is they they move down from 24 to 26 so they still have back-to-back picks instead of 24 25 they go 25 26 in addition to that they pick up the 51st pick in the second round so o one before the Warriors so for the Knicks it makes it’s like cool we’ll probably just still get our guy we’ll move down a spot and get another asset cool yeah dude they are crushing right now huh the Knicks oh man dude it’s uh it’s been fun to see you know especially it’ve been such a joke of a FR draft it’ be so funny if they Jeff Ryan done simply for like the seventh perimeter Defender ever it’d be hella fun that’s who I’ve seen that’s who I’ve seen him mock the most too was Ryan Ryan done to the Knicks Tomo would love that More Wings let’s go go out there and defend but just think about the Knicks for so long it’s been just chaos for them and I feel like last year was just such a magical year they had so many injuries they just kept fighting and then to see them be aggressive not only at the deadline but now after it’s like yeah go get Mel Bridges let’s get those Nova Knicks together let’s resign OG we’ll figure it out and you know they still have some additional moves that they could make you know with pieces on the roster they’re gonna be fun next year yeah I think they mooved to uh the second highest uh odds or second lowest odds in the East now behind the Celtics to to win the Eastern Conference according to Vegas so um you know these moves in the last 24 hours uh jump them past the 76ers at least as far as the eyes of the the Vegas folks are concerned so they’re gonna be they’re G to be right there it sure looks like it you know one thing I do love about tonight I be because I was mixed on the whole like day two of the draft mhm we’re not even to the end of the first round yet I’m actually glad it split I am I kind of like glad it split like that was my first we’ll have a little break right little refresher well and that and I get to take a nap no that’s it that’s Deuce is going to go pee I mean like I I I looked and I was like wait three and a half hours and I’ve been in this chair cuz we started at four and I’m like I just need to like get up for a second you know Absolut and I I swear like last year or I don’t know if it was last year or the year before I mean we’re doing like 12h hour streams where we’re just like there so I you guys are wackos anyway right I mean you know that you you guys have have it like me I think with your we’re just all basketball junkies here okay I mean even everyone that has like been here for so many hours with us thank you so much we see you in the chat I know it’s it’s so funny there’s there’s obviously a lot of Kings fans uh in the chat NBA fans as well but uh the Kings fans you just hear the mix things always and um and I’m still I’m still just like I I’m feeling optimistic that like something else is going to change something else is going to be tweaked or moved and uh I think when you see what’s going on even in the Eastern Conference with the Knicks being so aggressive and their belief of what they can do this next season coming up I’m just so curious what other teams in the East are going to do like like for example even the Pacers like you made the big move and you got past gyakum but you still get to see like well it’s probably not going to be good enough even if everyone was to take well maybe but I feel like more teams would figure them out in the sense of slowing them down early and not allowing them to push the pace and not playing to their identity I don’t know I don’t know anyway it’s just just my thoughts of what other teams are going to do in the east as they see the Knicks be aggressive yeah it’s uh it’s a it’s a fun time to I mean it’s always a fun time I I get crazy about all this one of the funnest things to me is sometime after tomorrow we’ll start putting together those summer league roster spreadsheets you know what I mean like who’s the who’s the undrafted free agent who’s gonna go there and who’s who’s the guy that got drafted like three years ago that didn’t work out that’s coming back to summer league and is gonna you know try to get it done so um I love all that stuff I mean it’s definitely uh just fits right into my OCD so the Knicks are on the at 25 after their 24th pick ends up going to Washington for George as we talked about so the next two picks are scheduled to be the Knicks then uh 27 did that end up getting moved right because that was now I’m trying to like keep up with did Nick in talks on moving number 26 sources tell ESPN of course they are okay well maybe that’ll be our Sacramento Kings trying to get Ryan done oh my God that would be fantastic don’t you think Ryan Dunn would be the perfect fit player for the Sacramento oh my god without a doubt in my mind he can’t make a shot to save his life but yeah yeah for sure it doesn’t matter cuz he does everything that you need on the backline transformative Defender I agree he’s one of the best like like I said 26 years of doing this and he’s he’s definitely in my top I I said top five I maybe I need to rethink that I think he’s in the top five Defenders I’ve ever looked at um and so that’s really saying something about R in my like my like last like what four years of doing this second best after one B ridiculous so what what would the deal wimy how would they get that W yeah yep after wimy um and so yeah I you know and the other thing about Ryan dun too is I think there’s a chance on the offense nobody looks think right nobody looks good playing for Tony Bennett like I mean you could put Johnson on a Tony Bennett team and he screw him up somehow you know what I mean they they would find a way to score 35 points at the end of regulation you know what I mean it’s just they just he just is the no F he’s like the Billy Donovan of college basketball you know it’s just uh not a fun not a fun guy to play for so I think there’s a chance and Ryan Dunn’s shot really doesn’t look awful to me the numbers are terrible ton of confidence he lost a ton of confidence this season one on yeah and the stuff I read about him is he was actually in high school he was a good shooter that’s what they okay so that’s what I I was reading I think it was in the athletic they did their breakdown on him yeah and also with dun he’s like he’s a solid cutter I mean he is a smart player he knows how to move without the basketball he knows how to get himself in good positions and he’s it’s just like he needs more confidence as a shooter he really lost confidence as the season went on and if you look at the frame and like everything about him defensively it makes me want to take him like right now so we we do have an up to from W the Knicks are planning after having talks to keep the pick at 25 and 26 so no Ryan done quite yet we want Ryan done we want we end up getting Ryan done this goes from like a I would say the king je not like a be because I really love Deon Carter but like big questions Ryan D makes this automatic this is what this is what’s so fascinating about this whole conversation tonight is because I I love Devin Carter I’ve been watching we watched full games of him I did I was telling Peril I don’t know if you’re here yet Bobby but the Memphis Grizzlies do this thing where they go like team they pick one person from a team to do like a mock draft and Devin Carter was my pick and I was also thinking Malik monk was gone but there’s so much to like there and I think fans are going to love them but I I told Morgan early I said if they draft a guard it’s not going to be popular it’s going because they’re going to see the G they’re going to see 6’2 and you nailed it Bobby yes he is 6’2 six a 3/4 wingspan and it’s not just oh he doesn’t know what to do with the wingspan the guy guards so I’m excited about what he can do but now I’m more fascinated about all right what are the other moves and that’s why us talking about height is seeing you know your your vision where your eyes are that’s that’s where the height plays into whether or not you can see over some but we play with our hands we play we’re here right we’re here we’re we don’t play with the top of our head coach Bobby yeah I mean it’s really good point no but I mean it is it’s to me one of the one of the most important things I’ve done that’s helped me as far as scouting players is is paying way more attention to wingspan than height height really doesn’t even matter to me anymore to me it’s about wingspan especially if we’re talking guards and wings and then standing reach is a big deal to me if you’re a big um that’s just how I look at it so like I tweeted earlier today I don’t know if you guys saw it about you know we’re circling back to the sabonis thing but the average wingspan of a A Center on a winning team is 7 foot4 inches and domas is 611 I tweeted all those 16 teams uh and the wingspans of all those centers and it’s kind of like you know one of those what’s wrong with this picture and domas is the only one in that group that’s under seven feet with the with the wingspan he literally has the wingspan of a small forward yeah um you know that’s but you know he’s he’s OB viously never going to be a small forward he’s a rugged dude who maybe could play some power forward someday um I don’t know what you guys think about that but um you know if do you think domas could ever be a guy who plays on the floor with a big what what P peral just said are targeting French guard pone diet I still don’t know the name but daier daier Di D that’s a fun fun fun selection I mean yeah I mean his main issue right now is defense so he goes to a team where they prioritize defense and can develop him as a Defender I honestly really like the pick Tom thibo hates it he’s like can you play defense now but yeah um yeah go back to your question going back to what Bobby said do you ever think sabonis could play in that power forward position I mean Duce and I have discussed this so many times and he he would have to be able to shoot the three consistently and stretch the floor because I feel like and really it’s stretch the floor like how about just shoot shoot the shoot the jumper consistently being able to make sure that you can be out there and be confident and I know last year what he ever two one point something three game he shot a good clip but he can shoot he to shoot it like four times a game yeah and so like that he’s got to get the volume up yeah yep yeah and so I don’t know but like it’s like does he have that mind set to to change that is that going to screw with the way that he rebounds the basketball like I just don’t I don’t know but like I love it because I think he’s a smart enough player um and he has such a good feel for the ball like being able to push the ball up in transition like he can he can dribble the basketball well enough and if he kept uh getting better with that skill I don’t know maybe yeah I I’d love to see it I I I wonder you know how often they practice that way or if they ever screw around with it you know I think we saw it maybe just a couple of minutes here and there um you know one time or or a couple times it’s SL of Center out there with him but you you didn’t see enough of it um I would love to love to see that happen sometimes and then would he be able to defend the four absolutely yeah that’s the that’s the big question that is the big question yeah y um we saw him do a little bit like we saw him in that position in um in Indianapolis um in Indiana with Miles Turner and I don’t think he’s mobile enough to really defend the four which is the main M main main knock which is why that whole thing with Indie just didn’t work out it I guess it would depend on who the five is yep you know that’s that’s what it matters you know I mean if you have like a super LEL five then it’s a completely different question but yeah if you have a guy that’s plays primarily in drop which is what turn does show that’s why I I you know I didn’t know if they could and I again I’m not the college basketball expert but I watch Khalil wear play and I’m just like so intrigued by his ability you know he could he shoots a three and like he played on a team where they didn’t shoot many threes I think that the say I heard is that they were near the bottom in the NCAA and three point makes per game they made like five a game as a team which is insane but you saw his ability to stretch the floor and I thought defensively like he moved well and his timing at blocking shots is great I don’t feel like he was ever hunting like I watched his match up against Zach Edy his second match up against Edy and dude he took the shots from Edy he was strong he didn’t back down I was intrigued by someone like him and I don’t know I just it to me it all hinges on will sabonis take more threes he’s capable of doing it and I think I’ve always said this with sabonis since being in Sacramento it’s a confidence thing he can shoot a mid-range shot and can make it he just doesn’t and Y the switch has to go there and I don’t know what that’s going to take every time they give him three feet when he’s at the elbow like he’s 17 feet out or something like that if they give him any space the first thing he does is he he’s looking back for you know who am I going to give this ball to and set a screen and you know do my my dribble handoff or whatever it is and you know how am I going to run this action and I think his first reaction needs to be I’ll open shoot that thing I mean right I mean he’s he’s he can make what what’s his free throw 70 low 70s or something like that it shouldn’t be much different than that he ought to be able to make a high high high percentage of those shots especially and then the three-point shot you know we’ve we’ve seen it come along but just not as fast as as I’d like to see it come along I I I agree he needs to get the volume up on that it’s too formulaic that I feel like three-point shot is too formulaic he needs to be in the right place right pocket for everything to like look good and make you can see him thinking about it like huh he’s he’s like leg here it goes I’m ready to shoot and I will shoot now now yeah that’s that’s Dom’s three-point shot and I love him don’t get it twisted at all I love domas I’m not don’t don’t want him out of here just trying to find a way to maximize uh you know the roster and and maximize what the kings are capable of especially on the defensive end and I think they’re always going to be challenged if he’s their if he’s the back you know the backside of the defense yeah you nailed it it comes down the wingspan it’s it’s never I think there’s a misconception it’s like oh sabonis is a bad defensive player it’s like well you know he tries I mean he busts his ass he is one of the best defensive rebounders good communicator as well he yeah exactly and the the fact is he’s just doesn’t have great length he’s just not a long guy and so he’s not going to deter a lot of shots at The Rim yep 100 100 all right you guys I think I’m gonna thank you so much for hanging out with us tonight man appreciate you so much your insights we encourage everyone to check out hoop obsession. comom you know bobb’s going to be covering the summer league too so he’s going to have summer league notes Galore like he does every year he spends so much time uh covering this stuff and so I encourage you guys to check out his work Bobby thank you so much man thanks Bobby I appreciate you too as you know and and it really does mean a lot to me that uh that you have me be a part of of some of your stuff that you’re still throwing me some bones even though you’re big you’re amazing so as I always say I I want you I want all three of you to remember me when you’re running the world so all right appreciate you man all right peace happy draft day yes there’s a one and only Bobby Gerald we do have a trade update oh the Knicks are trading the 26th pick um to Oklahoma City and they’re going to be selecting Dylan Jones Dylan Jones um will be going to the Oklahoma City Thunder we don’t know the full details quite yet okay okay see Dylan Jones writing this down 26 and then the Knicks so the Knicks just w moving stuff yeah active how’s the chat feeling right now just about this in I’m I’m I’m trying to feel the mood of Kings fans I felt like the instant reaction was we are so pissed Stan Carter I’ve seen some positive stuff but I definitely see a lot of people who are not happy in this I it sounds like it’s like what Peril said that with the Providence fans and that’s why he’s trending it’s like they’re so excited for him and they’re excited for Kings fans too oh man okay uh Travis says hey I’m chilling Jim says me the mood is we love the player we hate the pick oh okay let me ask you this if they but if if they make other moves you still hate the pick I mean obviously this was the roster that was opening night we’re all looking around going what the hell is this guard guard guard short okay uh Tanner says patient need more assets okay okay uh chudley says Monty shot an airball okay you haven’t watched Devin Carter next uh Felix said I wanted uh Zack Edy yeah and Zach Edy ends up going higher than I think some people anticipated right so Zach Ed ends up going ninth in this one uh to the Memphis Grizzlies and The Grizzlies have been searching for like another big post stepen Adams right St okay what do we got pral what spelled his name wrong but um the Oklahoma City Thunder have selected Dylan Jones yeah with the 26th pick in the draft and he is a he honestly he seems like a very Oklahoma City Thunder player I mean he’s he’s awesome uh length fantastic rebounder playmaking Talent uh Rim fresher um and and and he’s a great passer uh I he’s not the most explosive player but I mean he’s smart he’s an older obviously played at Weaver State Weber State he’s an older player but that that’s a really cool pick I really like that pick he has to be the the the first player drafted from Weber State since Dame Lillard I just made it up but it’s probably accurate wow he looks like a a a a bigger build little giry oh yeah he’s strong strong I mean I say this cuz I don’t know much about him at all but um but I guess we will because he’s going to be with OKC so I think I think the angle I think the angle looking at here is with both of the selections is way making and um without KY you lose some of that wait I just want to share this real fast just for the trade of Dylan Jones OKC is sending five second round picks to the Knicks for the rights to select Dylan Jones 26 five there’s prey’s like f all these picks you can have the second rounders that’s hilarious I still have like 20 more second be honest that’s hilarious um bronnie James hasn’t been drafted shut up shut up Morgan uh Minnesota is on the clock at 27th the first round is almost over so we got Minnesota Phoenix Utah and Boston left and if I’m not mistak Minnesota take Ryan dun and then oh [ __ ] dude if they walk away with Rob Dillingham and Ryan Dunn tonight don’t forget they have Leonard Miller who was my like I had him at 13 or 12 last year and they still have him in the wings developing in the G League like come on man I I love them picking Dillingham so much it’s not even funny it’s just like so and they didn’t have to give up the pick this year they have a future one they’re all in on this group and they should be like this is this is the time and you need a guard and you want him on a rookie contract es and if you’re thinking about oh this guy has upside I mean there’s just so many layers to this especially with where the cap is going for them um it’s going to be an expensive team so to have a guy as talented as Rob Dillingham there God damn it’s impressive uh but they are on the clock now by the way after the first round is over Morgan and I are gonna hang out and talk about do a little recap on the king selecting Devin Carter and we’ll talk to the chat as well it’s nice that we don’t have to deal with the second round tonight I know go ahead PR it’s kind of wild but Coler might fall all the way to the second round oh my God I forgot about Isaiah k uh while we wait to see what’s going on there is some quotes from Devin Carter our good pal Sean Cunningham did put out a quote from uh Devin Carter just a bit ago uh he says I think I’m a winning player I’m a win now type of player when he was asked about what he brings to Sacramento said he loves doing the Dirty Work and looks forward to playing alongside Fox Monk and sabonis love that love that shout out to Providence they are changing they we got a whole bunch of Providence fans rooting for the Kings now let’s go that’s awesome you guys your guys’ following will be replaced with uh Providence SP will replaced of all the Portugal following that was lro yeah and then uh of course when if Sasha leaves we lose that following to oh man what a what a sad time let’s uh let’s get some of the chat what’s the chat feeling tonight let’s see I’m going to check in with the chat if I can pull it up somewhere so I can see see it um whoa oh whoa see every time I want to go I get a whoo from Minnesota selecting Terence Shannon Jr at number 27 all right uh obviously there was a lot of talk about him because he had some legal issues um he’s been through a lot this year I’ll be honest yes it’s a lot of offb stuff that he went through um talking about the basketball player um he’s he he’s another one of those scoring guards that that Minnesota has targeted in the draft right you talk about the burst all the scoring talent that He had he was a fantastic slasher for um Illinois he was basically their offense at large portions of the of the year but the main problem I have is you have a high usage guy in college that doesn’t really play make the basketball or shoot the basketball to them right so you’re going in as like a pure slashing guard that is oh so so defense not really there not really there as a playmaker not really there as a shooter it’s just pure scoring right so um obviously they need that they they need more of that scoring punch Off the Bench but um once again what will he he will need to develop one way or another to really make an impact in the NBA and he was just a couple of weeks ago uh found not guilty of rape so you know I think there’s a lot of people who like his talent and with all that going on that obviously hurt his stock a little bit okay until that was actually um that news came out a couple of weeks back so there’s just a lot going on there now he gets an opportunity oh my god oh your guy Phoenix is selecting Ryan dun at number 28 I had hope I had hope I’ll be honest this is so weird because they still don’t have a point guard yeah there there’s some talk that maybe you’re thinking Collier at that spot uh for them even I I I saw a lot of like Tyler kic buuz and he would have been really perfect because he’s undersized yes of and a lot of H siiz guards don’t only work out he’s limited as a Defender but fantastic playmaker and he would have fit perfectly um Ryan Dunn they still struggle defensively so Ryan Dunn does give them that other different like different different different um Dimension especially with you have Durant Beal B scores man um when you look at the shooting of Ryan Dunn how concerning is that going to be for him like is that is he going to be able to play year one for the Phoenix Suns you’ll see him in like a matis style type of role if anything um it’s concerning for sure if he doesn’t develop as a shooter or even as like a playmaker or finisher um not playmaker I mean finisher and like Rim pressure type of guy he won’t really have a place in the NBA you can’t play one side of the ball and expect to get major minutes right um B has develop to become at least some sort of a reliable player because he’s a spot up shooter right not shooting on the line but still is able to make some threes here and there for for uh tra for the trail then Ryan dun will have to follow a similar rule as gamebreaking as his defense is you can’t be a one-sided player in the NBA and that even with that I still want him for Sacramento which should show how good he is defensively he will be a transformative player in the Min plays for for Phoenix so now with the Suns taking Ryan done after moving down they they are selecting where the the Nuggets were slotted uh the nuggets in moving up to get to Ron Holmes so we got a couple of picks left Utah is slated to select and then the Boston Celtics the defending Champions will uh wind down the first round of the draft and then we got the second round 1 pm. Pacific time tomorrow with the Raptors on the clock first I will not be awake no no no um don’t blame you so looking at what’s kind of left out there in the first round peral are are there guys that you think I mean we talk about Isaiah col you got Philip hsky still on the board klech is still there there’s some the guys that were projected to go in the first round available here for for these final couple of picks yeah uh Tyler Smith still on the board bill shyan I think will be a super impactful player for a really good team he’s a fantastic movement shooter um really smart playmaker just really smart player um uh he he’s a great guy that I think teams will still love to have K as I mentioned earlier um interested to see Johnny Fury yet I thought a team would take a chance on him um and Isaiah Crawford as I mentioned earlier um I had him in like the late first round so this is around the time he goes but still on the board could be really interesting for the Kings to get him KJ Simpson who I’m super high on another guy really good shot creation three level scoring ability uh undersized of course but he could once again pack A- punch Off the Bench and um I think Kevin mcculler Jr is a guy that I’m high on forr consensus and I think he is a really good Defender really really sound questions on his shooting and um questions on what he can do on the offensive end but um he is a fantastic secondary playmaker and I think he has a spot still that that that teams could really talk I really would like the Kings to go out him we are going to wrap up the first round and once we’re done with the first round we’re going to put a bow on this and then we’re just on the round in general and then we’re going to hang out and talk about the king selecting Devon Carter cuz you know obviously that the pick happened then we Bounce Around the draft but we’ll definitely oh my God Utah Jazz are targeting isah colier at number 29 that is fantastic you love that pick huh why you PO for that yes yes oh my God Utah is getting a absolute demon I mean Utah took two of my top seven guys with with their two picks I had to at four I had Cody Williams at seven and I mean um man that’s awesome handle he’s good handling he’s strong quickness Advantage creation him and K George will be super fun to watch that is a fantastic pick and I am super happy going into a team that really develop him does it make them better next year in the west um potentially we’ll have to see how they use Collier but man that is a fantastic pick I am super excited to see that team play I mean you have Larry you have Cody Williams all that size all that athleticism it’s going to be a lot of fun to watch peral gets me excited to watch other players or these other rookies he might be like a g guy but it’ be fun hey you know we’re all about the G so we have one pick left then and it’s GNA be the Boston Celtics if you have not done it yet hit the Thumbs Up And subscribe shout out to everyone who has been here the entire time actually if you’ve been here riding with us this how long have we been on here over 4 hours and 7 minutes let let us know give us a hell yeah hit the Thumbs Up And subscribe we appreciate you so one pick to go in the first round then for the first time ever we’ll have day two of the NBA draft coming up tomorrow at 1 pm and we’ll hang out and just kind of watch it and P see if there are any trades it’s not going to be as crazy you’re not going to get crazy analysis tomorrow no we’re to hang out pral is goingon to be sleeping yeah Peril will be sleeping and I mean and not to say perneel gets me excited about these second round draft picks obviously but I think there will be just a lot more of hanging out going over everything that kind of went down throughout the NBA um but it will be another live stream and I feel like we don’t have too many of those too many more in this offseason no no we’re GNA have free agency too it’s going to be a lot of fun can’t what oh my God what Jake gayon uh he was at the draft and talked to De Carter so play that in a little bit too huh hey look at thatuh make the pig let’s go been here since 4:30 okay hell yeah I appreciate you guys all these people thank you so much hell yeah yeah Mitch said we just drafted Josh Hart hey that’s a good that’s a fun call I mean and that’s the thing you look at those Knicks teams that I know they just added those wings with OG and of course Mel Bridges but it’s other guys who play Big remember when OG was out you’re looking around who else is going to play Big Dante D venzo plays big right Josh Hart plays big these aren’t like some six nine guys out there they’re just tough I Kings fans are gonna love Devin Carter there’s just there’s no doubt they’re gonna love Devon Carter it’s not even about that it’s it’s more about okay there’s another guard I mean I’m sure de Fox is thinking the same thing okay is there other stuff happening too or we come into the season with all these guards that’s not going to this this next week will be really telling y about what we do where we go with forwards and trades and stuff yep I agree I agree um we are still waiting one more one more pick do you think we keep this stream going or do we like do a new one keep this stream going yeah absolutely we need to like pause for a few and no no no no keep this stream going tie it in a bow yeah good night night P peral what are you going to do today um I have like um I have to do like some last minute shopping and stuff um I have to get like some of my clothes tailored um I have couple things I need to do after I get off probably gonna take a nap and um I got invited to get on Good Morning Sacramento tomorrow morning to recap the pick with uh Cody so another thing that I’ll have to do uh more more more more basketball stuff so excited about that too love Cody that’s so great that’s awesome oh I love that for you that’s so cool that’s funny uh in in the chat Tanner was like watch Boston do what Bill Simmons said to do his idea was that uh the Celtics should draft Brony and hold him hostage oh yeah I mean you could dangle that in front of LeBron we have your kid come on I mean why not be Petty uh Scott said you needed and you got another small guard I get it man yeah I mean the offseason’s just getting started you know this was the first step all right draft next free agency and its trades you those you didn’t get it yet in free you didn’t get it in the draft how are you going to address it in free agency And Trades that’s what we’re all going to be watching because yeah if you look at what the roster looks like on June 26 you’re going okay are they better than last year the answer would be no so we’ll see what else they do coming up here yep with the 30th pick in the draft do you think all the same people are going to be doing the broadcast tomorrow night I don’t know it’s and it’s tomorrow it’s a 1 or tomorrow day sorry tomorrow afternoon whatever I hope I wake up to something fun I I know you will I think anything is with these picks is fun to you you’re as long as it’s not another guard I’ll be excited about something I I for some reason I’m always able to see the good side and in and even like taking another guard for the king it’s so true it’s so true yeah yeah this I’m I’m really glad I knew about uh enough about Devin Carter and his game and I was excit I was genuinely was excited about him and but I just kept saying to do but like like if they don’t have to draft a guard then like you know you know and then today as it just like kept coming down to the wire the rumors were there but it felt like nothing was getting done Edy goes nine as well and it was just like okay best honestly seeing like Cody Williams and um Matas bazel go 10 and 11 was like a dagger in my heart that was crazy uh the Celtics have made their last pick too the final pick of the first round this is according to Shams it’s going to be Baylor shyan going to the Boston Celtics what do you think about that one huh yeah uh I mentioned him like five minutes back he’s a guy that contending teams would love to have smart player can shoot the basketball he’ll slau in in that rotation right away and I think that is such a Boston Celtics pick because he’s high IQ can play multiple positions smart playmaker shoots the basketball well uh he won’t be the greatest on ball Defender but they have so many good Defenders it won’t really matter that much that that’s such a B on Pi that that that’s that’s good I think he’ll be in their rotation from day one or he could be okay a ton of like really good rotational yeah it’s it’s another team that even if he’s not you it’s just a guy that’s you know under a rookie deal this is important for this team to keep it going you know and um it’s going to be vital to hit draft picks like this especially in the the late first round for these teams that are putting so so much money out there with brown and Tatum they got Derek whes extension coming up Drew holidays deal like so it’s a lot of money going out there so anyway yeah yeah and yeah I I think I think he has a chance to be in that rotation um obviously the Celtics have like really high tier rotational players that can do a ton of different things so shyman really fits that bill for what what they look for in their rotational pass perneel dude you killed it tonight man um I just want to let’s take a quick moment and thank who woke up super early he is in India on a family vacation not only did he join us for the last 4 hours plus the guy crushed it with analysis on like every single player every single player great homework he’s the man yeah no you truly you I mean obviously now we’ve known you for a couple years and you you’ve always been so great but then to also see you just get better and better and better each and every year and just just everything that you have coming toward you I mean I know you’re going to Berkeley but everything else that’s coming toward you for for to you in the future I’m just so excited for yeah and thank you guys so much you guys were like the jump starter for everything that happened in a good way I told us to do this earlier but like getting that first chance on that first pod um like in the 2022 draft kick started my path to getting into Berkeley getting where I in for my future and honestly huge thanks to you guys cuz I’m only in this place because of the chance that you guys gave me to start I mean it’s it’s not true but I’m glad you feel like we could help you you’re super talented I would have just thrown you on if I thought you sucked uh I knew you’re talented and you just had to get that opportunity and you absolutely crushed it so we’re happy to see all your success I know a lot of people who have listened to us for a long time have seen you grow up from being like this 15-year-old so now you’re 18 headed to cow that’s badass so um congrats to you enjoy India enjoy your family and um Good Luck on Good Day Sacramento tomorrow as well yeah hope I hope I’ll get more people to get convinced over the Deon car especially the ones that are do um thank you so much I’m gonna go take a nap see you guys you deserve it all right see there is peral let me talk to him give me a hell yeah yeah dude he’s so great oh my God the first round of the draft is over it’s over and now we’re got to talk a little bit bit more about Devin Carter well I’m going to rap a little bit about it if you don’t mind Morgan Reagan rap a little bit about it I’m just like talk about it oh yeah no for sure um because you know the draft is so rushed it was how long ago was that pick I feel like we have to like collect our thoughts a little bit I know I kind of regret doing it this way but it’s fine seriously because I’m like oh should we pause and do something like I don’t know I don’t have you see keep it going I yeah like what what else do you need to like function in your head you know it’s like it’s all fresh well cuz here’s to take you guys behind the curtain I’m thinking about so we put the audio version out of this for this later as I can’t even talk right now so we’ll do a Devon Carter audio podcast too and we’ll piece together things that Bobby and Peril said too yeah yeah but I’m thinking like that’s going to be I’m going to have to like put this that we’re about to do now with those things for video as well out there that’s and that’s totally fine and I think this to take you behind the curtain this is how you’re going to do editing no no no so when you start the music and you go do some all welcome in blah blah blah um first and for uh you know or do you want I say you get to them at the end you get to so then we talk all about it and be like for extra Insight or you start with them I’ll figure it out well no cuz then I think you just throw throw to them in the beginning or throw to them at the end throw like throw like here’s instant reaction from um you know our conversation when we had Instagram no it’s fine I know what I’m going to do I’m going to record that stuff after we’re done with this part okay oh my goodness are you okay appreciate you guys being here for the live stream you guys are the best give me a hell yeah also shout out to Willie Brown who said Deuce is a hottie I know a lot of people feel that way we appreciate that Willie thanks wiie you’re the only person that has put that on the chat know it’s that was the only time I’ve read it but it’s it’s been mentioned multiple times tonight so very cool to to see that all star says deuce needs a beer yeah I I probably do need a beer um okay let’s have some fun you ready hell yeah all right do some Mo oh midwater yeah let me I need to write down when you’re starting us too 418 Jesus Christ 418 all right de and mo with our reaction to Devin Carter being drafted coming down in three two one hit my music they tell you what they know de and mo de mo mo the Pod that you know welcome in to the deuce and mo podcast recording this after the conclusion of the first round of the NBA draft Sacramento Kings with the 13th pick so much noise could they be making a trade we heard Rumblings a little bit before the draft that they were talking about a Kyle kozma trade they’ve been connected to Kyle kozma for years we also heard cam Johnson has a possibility as the Nets are blowing things up and starting over trying to accumulate assets but when the Kings got the boore there are questions which direction were they going to go well at the number 13 pick they go with a guard hey Devin Carter from Providence 62 193 lb was drafted by the Sacramento Kings with the 13th overall pick there’s a lot to go over in discussing this pick because he’s a guard and I think all on the surface you’re going what the hell did Monty McNair and the Kings just do yep you’ve got dearn Fox yeah you do you have Malik monk who you just resigned to a four-year deal still have Kevin herder Keon Ellis daveon Mitchell Colby Jones a second round pick that you gave a four-year deal that’s a lot of guards well I’d like to announce something right now it is June 26 there is still free agency in trades that can come but we all know the Kings needed Wing help they did not get it in the first round of the draft what’s your first reaction to the Kings adding Devin Carter from Providence first initial reaction was guard you know the Big G it’s up there all the things the good news is I watched some Devin Carter weeks ago I mean I watching you know a couple games highlights all reading everything about him I’m like whoa he’s not just any guard like sold when I saw his wingspan sold when I saw the way that he really carries himself out there on the floor he plays so much bigger than he is he 62 with a 68 wingspan 68 and 3/4 wingspan so sorry on top of that he uh was averaging over nine or nine rebounds per game last year so he has a nose for the ball knows how to get in there um so this guard in Devin Carter I was a little bit more excited about but it’s like you already said at the beginning of this you said there’s so many different angles to break down because I go okay great love Devin Carter love his IQ he’s a dog all the different things that we just mentioned but what tweaks are going to be made because you you you can’t win in the western conference with a roster full of guards right that’s the problem and you know I’m trying to map this out in my head and let me be clear I I like Devon Carter in fact I did a mock draft with uh someone from the Memphis Grizzlies who’s going like picking someone from each City and I was picked at 13 I selected Devin Carter yeah my rationale was you know they’re probably losing Malik monk um I think Devin Carter is going to be a fan favorite here I’m going to just set that out right now people are going to love this guy yeah because he is a dog and yes we that term gets thrown around a lot nowadays and people are going to obsess over the 62 part of it he’s got a 68 and 3/4 wingspan and he uses all of it he is Relentless relent on the defensive side of the ball he’s just Relentless all the time yep you look at his numbers last year at Providence his third year playing college ball started at South Carolina before going to Providence he averages under 20 points a game let me read this to you because it sounds like it’s a mistake he averaged nearly nine rebounds a game as a 6-2 guard 8.7 rebounds 3.6 assists he also averaged just under two Steals and a block shot 47% he was 37% from downtown now the shooting thing right there you may want to look at because he he took a big jump in year three in college before this year he was 29% from three and then 26% from three his three-point percentage has gone up so is his free throw percentage you hope that is trending in the right direction it’s not just a fluky thing and he’s you don’t want him to be a liability obviously on the defense or the offensive side of the ball but you know you think about the Kings there was a that rumbling about they were going to take 13 and TR it for Caruso I mean you could see like some Alex Caruso in Devin Carter a little bit with the his ability to defend the question I I have is you know can Devin guard as many positions I don’t know about that I think he can guard multiple positions Alex Caruso is an all-nba level defensive player he’s done that I do think Devon Carter has that upside with his L length and physicality his rebounding his ability to push he plays with energy the guy is everywhere the feel for the game just like you said his versatility on the defensive end right the strength that he plays with and um I I didn’t think I was going to be this optimistic if a guard was drafted but I truly feel like Devin Carter is just a different type of basketball player that excites me and then obviously his dad uh being around the game for so long has helped him be around the NBA game for so long and just understand it at such a different level 22 years old he turned 22 in March so he’s uh an older rookie if you want to put it like that but also I always look at that as being a more mature rookie right uh so I I look at all these different things his upside him defensively um what he could maybe provide on the offensive end I know some people have said well 6’2 isn’t he just going to get a [ __ ] blocked at the rim and it’s like because he does play with link because he is a smart guy he knows how to get it up off the backboard he knows how to use his strength uh to battle in whoever else it is to get into the paint and make sure he’s shooting over people he’s an explosive athlete too I want to read you a portion of Sam vini’s breakdown he does a draft guide for the athletic every year this guy is crazy with the work he puts in and this is just one person’s opinion but figured we’d share it his strengths Carter is one of the best athletes in the draft class he possesses an exceptional combination of explosiveness lateral fluidity and functional strength those traits along with the motor and toughness allow him to play much bigger than his listed height he’s extremely quick and can get up vertically his development uh trajectory has been meteoric in part because of his competitiveness and his work ethic he improved his points rebounds assists field goal percentage three-point percentage and free throw percentage every season in college he also processes the game quickly with fast reaction times on both ends of the court on top of that has great length we’ve already mentioned this 68 and 3/4 wingspan the guy is long he says those attributes translate in Carter being one of the draft’s best little things players he’s a monster rebounder for a guard skying above traffic to secure contested boards he constantly Dives on the floor makes second and third efforts to recover on defense or get extra possessions for his team he is fearless tough and values the ball Carter defends guards as well as you’ll find and has potential potential to be among the NBA’s best down the road he blows up actions on and off ball he battles at the point of attack using his quickness and strength to stay in front of opposing players while also crawling into their space and disrupting their dribbling he gets over screens at an elite level taking the appropriate routes to stay in the play Morgan he never stops fighting he’s got great hands which means he’s always a factor when recovering a lot of offensive players underestimate his speed getting back into place leading to a ton of block shots yep one block a game for him last year in college Carter will give up size against bigger wings but it doesn’t feel that way because they have trouble going through his chest he can switch across one through three positions in the NBA according to Vini one through three and should even be able to match up with many fours we’ll see I mean seeing him play against some of these some of these players um in college it was like oh he’s he’s really strong he knows how to use his chest he knows how to use his body but then on top of that knowing how to use your arms right and and using that to your advantage and actually like capitalizing on that that physical ability that you have you see him do that and like him being able to recover and obviously block some shots if someone is quicker than him does get by him it’s that length once again and how many times have we’ve been talking about length for the Sacramento Kings and we’ll address what this means for the roster and take a look at the other spot stuff in a bit but focusing on Carter for a second if vini’s right and he does have the capability to guard one through three yeah that’s that’s going to be big for Sacramento the four I I I feel like that’s a bit of a stretch but I think there’s a strong belief in his strength and his compete and his length if you have that type of Versatility on the defensive end of the ball especially with the growth that Keegan made last year dear last year the emergence of Keon Ellis it’s there’s some pretty intriguing options for the Sacramento Kings and Mike Brown to utilize out there yeah I mean there was there was a time when I didn’t know I I I called so many games of Keon Ellis with the Stockton Kings and I was like I don’t know if his game will translate the right way in the NBA like is he going to be confident of all these different things the opportunity was given to him in the way that he developed internally within this organization has been fantastic but then something that he has as well is that wingspan he has those long arms the ability to just like a nose for the ball knows how to get in there you know digging digging whatever it is to disrupt someone that is dribbling the basketball and I feel like with someone like uh Devin Carter you you are getting someone that is already there you know and so now if you have that other that internal development with the other things and then you put him in a defense where he is just making the perimeter defense even stronger because he is so versatile it yeah it’s I like it in the NBA you got to win possessions you got to get stops and you got to get rebounds he can do both of those things that’s what’s exciting as San Vini goes on the right this Morgan Carter is the epitome of a defensive playmaker despite being 6’2 he blocked more than one shot a game in each of the past two seasons and average just under two steals per contest on top of his ability to get his hands into the opposing players hands he’s also tremendous off ball that’s good he’s constantly in the right position active when helping excellent at timing his digs in the drivers and clever playing that cat Mouse with them by stunting before recovering the shooters he’s also a great backline defender despite his height effectively bopping back and forth to confuse driving guards he’s quick and active closing out covering space quickly and on balance while he sometimes blocks shots that way he always navigates the balance of cont testing hard or staying on the ground when offensive players try to attack his clothes out he also uh he can also face guard or chase around dangerous shoes because of his skill getting through screens yeah I I mean it’s all the things that you love in a Defender now how is it going to translate at the NBA level with some of these bigger bodies I mean you know we have these questions obviously they have the belief that it will translate just fine but again watching him last year you can see see how much bigger he plays how strong he does play now you want to talk about some of his offensive stuff and we still have weaknesses too okay I want to go over this this is great we the I want to trust the experts here and so that’s why I’m going over some of this stuff offens Carter improved every year as a score and shooter most important skill set will be the three-point shooter while stroke doesn’t look great it goes in often enough to believe it will translate to the next level he drill 37.7% of his nearly 73 Point attempts per game this season and many of those tough shots uh tough those were tough looks due to being the top of opponent’s scouting reports like he is the guy that they were worried about he drilled 40.2% of his catch and shoot threes and showed some potential to launch off movement making eight threes off screens this season so he goes over some of the shooting stuff also says he’s effective pull-up shooter he hit 34% of his nearly 100 pull-up threes perc energy including making 41% of his 44 pick and roll three-point attempts and 36% of his threes off handoffs he navigates ball screens well demonstrating the ability to come off the pick patiently and and making sure to keep either his man on his hip or explode to the rim said he was an elite finisher at the basket last season unsurprising giving his strength and athleticism he threw down 25 dunks last season including a few posters but also made 65.9% of his overall shots at The Rim so the guy’s going to finish at The Rim he’s going to go strong and to finish nearly 66% that’s great well and that’s the thing that if you watch him play too not only with his shot is it a high release with his wingspan it allows him to shoot over some people right whether I mean they’re the same height the same size whatever um it allows him to elevate a little bit more and I think even at The Rim that’s what I would notice is some of his some of his shots that he was finishing in the paint it just felt like he was always reaching up always had the advantage with that wingspan he also says that he thinks Carter’s passing is more of a positive than a negative so long as he’s the secondary ball handler out there rather than the primary initi initiator uh some of his weaknesses of course the size gets mentioned NBA teams prefer 3 andd players like Carter to be more in the 66 range it hops that Carter plays bigger than his size but his height limits the type of lineups that a team could construct while using him as a high-end role player he came in the comine at 6’2 and one qu without shoes say he’s not a creative ball handler compared to NBA guards that’s something to watch for sure his turnovers were a bit high at 2.7 so the context does matter he had to lead Providence offense without many creative scoring guards around him especially after the friers Lost Bryce Hopkins for the season so they talk about that um he also isn’t sure about the shooting he’s shown just one season of positive sample his underlying shooting metrics this season all look good even at volume but he’s 22 year old he’s a 22y old with a hitchy shot who made less than 30% of his threes in his first two College Seasons yeah okay well I I and you know I think even looking at some of those uh weaknesses even the ball handling for example when I hear some of these things I go okay well that’s not the role you you expect him to be in right but you also want him to be able to get stronger in that area and I do from what I’ve seen with him feel like he will work hard to do that and he’s a smart enough player to get there now his overall summary on him is he thinks that he’s he says he’s one of his favorite draft guys in the class his basketball character is off the charts yeah unbelievable competitor possesses a crazy work a e ethic awesome Defender who will be switchable and aggressive at the point of attack across the perimeter those traits are even more valuable in the NBA he reads the game very well drastically improves his shooting said he had a lot of regrade on him and thinks he turns into the kind of guy every coach demands their front office to pick up in the offseason love that really quick we froze yep and look oh this is just crazy tonight I I can’t even explain this whole freezing thing it’s only happen this is the second time it’s happened but I like that you finish that and then hold on guys we are getting to our other screen this happened one other time before let’s see if it works and then we’ll continue our conversation about about Devin Carter um man jeez Deuce is plugging and unplugging things to try and make things work this happened one time during our live chat too we got a new pc but I don’t know if it’s just the programmer or whatever is happening but this is why you try this [ __ ] out before the season starts let’s see yeah we coming back people so weird a this is a [ __ ] train wreck I’m just to be honest I’m really not happy right now what you who you guys you guys are going to see the worst of me right now so sorry I’m just what no no no no still good it’s there you go you go you want me to fix it this is insane this is insane um and I know hold on this up hold on now we’re good just fix this [ __ ] TW come on don’t be don’t you’re fine oh my god dude hey all good so annoying I know I know I know I know we’re good if you guys understood what I’ve gone through with computer issues this week it’s hasn’t been pretty yeah all right I don’t even know where to go I do I don’t even know where to go I do Mary told is telling me to calm down you calm down Mary tell me to calm down you calm down don’t calm down Mary you’re you son of a NOP you are fine I’m kidding Mary um okay so we had just read s vini’s uh thing there you go okay s vini’s thing boom okay you’re just so sced over okay there we go come on so we got Sam vini’s perspective on Devin Carter there’s a lot to like there yeah ABS I just from the standpoint when you’re talking about a guy’s motor his energy his personality and why he’s one of your favorite people like you love having those type of guys on your roster so yes there’s a lot of good things about that now when you start thinking about the Sacramento Kings and how they’re building this out this is what people are struggling with a little bit is like okay like yeah I see why Devin Carter would be helpful but when you have all of these guards you you haven’t addressed your weaknesses tonight what what what would you say to those people who are concerned about that at this point oh well um your concerns are valid absolutely valid and I think my only push back would be is to be rational about this too when well I know I know well cuz I saw some like really evil things of course and I’m just like ew you’re all giving me the ick right now like it’s not about it’s not not about even trying to convince you to enjoy this pick or anything because here’s where I’m at I go love this pick Devin Carter right there with the 13th pick okay you feel like that was the best player available especially with the way that this draft was going hauling going fifth I mean like you had so many different picks PE that went higher than expected right ed9 and then you get to 13th best player available Devin Carter and Kings fans go what the [ __ ] another guard valid now this is where I go I go okay what tweaks are being made what moves are being made and I think a lot of the conversation that we have had today since this pick has been about that and I think the work is not done but I think there has been so much trauma around the almost trade in the almost moves over the years that people are like well I’m not going to believe it until I see it too well here’s the other struggle I have okay because we listed all these guards Fox Ellis herder Mitchell monk even if you want to put Colby in there I mean they gave Colby a four-year deal last year after drafting him okay so there was some thought he would be involved in in this so and then you’re adding you’re adding a draft pick in Carter okay 1 2 3 4 5 six right six seven that’s that’s seven right there okay Fox is playing we know this monk just got a new deal he’s playing let’s just say Dave yon’s out of the picture okay next let’s say he gets moved like hey you know we tried it Lottery guy we got Carter okay he’s gone fine herder if he’s there yeah and Ellis and Carter where where are the minutes coming from you know that that to me is a challenge you know and then you start going into this like let’s just say oh well like Carter can replace davon’s minutes well Davon was playing like 15 minutes a night yeah so that there’s not a lot of minutes there and so when you’re taking a lottery pick even if you think this guy can be impactful your roster is just so imbalance right now and so that’s why it’s vital that if you draft Carter he needs to be playing more minutes how do you get him to play more minutes well you got to make some drastic moves that’s why so many people are looking at a wing option not necessarily in the draft it could have been in the draft they could have done it in the draft or get some size in the draft but they also could have tried to make a trade not saying they didn’t try but they weren’t able to execute getting azma or Cam Johnson so now they’re left in a situation where you got Fox Ellis I want Ellis to play right you have herder herder helped this team not a ton not as much last year but we know what he can be capable of after having a career low season last year Davon who knows what what’s going on monk is going to play Heavy minutes and then you gave Colby a four-year deal so that’s where I’m struggling right now is that’s a lot that’s seven guards we just talked about that struggle is valid because it’s not like I I doubt that their mindset is like all right the way to win the West you go small that’s how you do it no but at the same time then you do have to question this roster construction and you go what aggressive moves are you make can you make can you make cuz that’s that’s the other thing too do you and I have talked about this a lot lately es especially seen the night before the draft Mel Bridges go um a lot was given a lot of future was mortgage for muel Bridges and I said to you I’m like anybody is going to cost a lot right but you have to be able to give up stuff as well and I think so many kings fans always go can’t you just trade Harrison Barnes or Jon like they just throw out anyone’s names and it’s like well it takes two to tango you know the other front the other organization has to have a place for these people have has to have a want has to make sense with their roster as well so I think sometimes we get caught up in a lot of that when really it’s like you just have to be willing to in my opinion and I’ve never been like this before but I think the time is right to maybe take some risks and even if it means being risky with your future and maybe give up some future picks like the 28 pick the 2030 pick depending on who that player is but we’re seeing how costly it is to to get some of these guys and I you know I’m looking at the rest of the draft and you know you’re going okay well what would you have liked to have seen him do you know I like Devon Carter a lot you know I I that’s where it’s so tough I like khil wear a lot and he ends up going 15th to myami and of course Miami gets him which I even get a little irritated CU I’m like oh Miami see some probably going to be a damn good player and there’s questions about his motivation at times when I watched him battle Zack Ed in the second match up between Indiana Purdue I’m like this guy has what you love in a modern day big like Not only was he dealing with Zack Ed size at 74 this guy can step out and hit threes he can protect the rim he’s a vertical threat he’s got size a legit 7 foot he’s got the wingspan so that would have been more of a look I understand that you’re like oh how do that work with sabonis could they play together sure here’s what I know you do need size now you added another guard but also with where the development like that was going to have to take place with him as well just like his rawness and I think even I mean we talking to other people even talking about how him developing with Miami and within that culture and just how perfect that will be for him um at this point of his career you know and and not to say that it wouldn’t be the same in Sacramento but at the same time you do look at Sacramento too and you look at someone like Devin Carter and you go okay it’s not a big but it’s also someone with like at least length you know and he s Vini thinks he can guard one through three I saw someone the chess saying oh he just said in an interview he can go one through four um let’s uh hear from Devin Carter he was with Jaye gayon CBS 13 who was in Brooklyn covering the draft got an exclusive one-on-one W with him uh let’s hear what that sounded like with Jake gayon from CBS 13 and and Devin Carter King Devin Carter from Providence going on the 13th overall pick just what was it like hearing your name here in Barkley Center uh it’s a surreal feeling you know just all glory to God uh blessed me throughout my whole life and uh just ready to get to work ready to bring some championships to Sacramento and uh trying to win honestly what have you heard about Sacramento and the Kings um I love Coach Brown I love what he does with uh the players uh his relationship with the players um just uh you know how competitive they are and how well connected well bonded they are and stuff in the locker rooms and stuff so uh just looking forward to being a part of that Brotherhood so I don’t know have you heard anything about jiren fox damont sabonis and just the style of play that they play over in sack um you know they lot of two-man game sabonis is one of the best bigs best passing bigs in the NBA honestly might be the best uh de Fox fantastic point guard high IQ very explosive uh great player Allstar I mean what more can you say you know Kevin herder shooter it’s a honestly best organization I could happy wanted to go see so so you were saying you worked out for this team in Sacramento previously how do you feel like your game fits in with Sacramento um honestly I think I fit in just by my versatility my two-way ability you know able to lock down the other team’s best guard or whatever may be I able to switch one through four um and then I think that uh just on the offensive end I’m somebody who can create their own shot get my teammate shots if they uh you know help off the Gap and everything uh just somebody like I said somebody’s coming to win so that’s the most important thing that you’re getting with me coming to Sacrament a winner were you expecting this at all to to go to the kings were they on their last yeah they were honestly number one so I’m this is the team I wanted to go to this a team I told my girl my dad my aunt everybody the team I wanted to go to so I mean God couldn’t have planned us out any better biggest question out of everything though is have you heard of the beam and are you ready to L light the beam I’m ready I’m ready I’m ready to like the bean de there’s Devin Carter with Jiggy he was always my number one pick as well I just thought that was so cute how about the which thing I’m not trying to be jaded you know you know we’ve been watching the draft for a long time yeah what else is he going to say h well they weren’t really on my list but I seemed kind of J he’s like I told my dad told my girlfriend I’m sold that he wanted to be here and you know I do there there is a and look I get sucked in this I’m guilty of getting sucked into stuff like this but you know he’s like oh I love Mike Brown yeah I I love how his relationships with players I’m like dude yeah that’s an easy guy to roof for yeah it’s funny how we talk about this tonight right because we read Sam vini’s breakdown like oh my God and then you start looking at the roster go huh and then you see maybe a couple of guys that maybe go after you’re like well would that been a better fit look if Devin Carter comes to Sacramento and he plays a vital role in getting this team to another level because he brings legit defensive versatility he said in this clip he says he can go one through four M we’ll have to see that I don’t know here’s what I do know he can guard and he can guard a couple of positions maybe a few if he can bring that that’s going to be huge for the Kings and now it’s on the front office to clean it up there you go I I don’t need seven guards I need I give me a just somebody with some size someone Bobby Gerald mentioned Obi toppen it doesn’t have to be crazy here okay but I need some more length I need some more athleticism we got the guards covered we got some dogs we got dearen Fox Keon Ellis Malik brings that I need some more length yep and size and toughness I think it size for me because even when he has the confidence of saying like I can guard one through four like there’s this part of me that goes I’ve been wanting length for so long and I feel like I shouldn’t underestimate his length especially when again when you look at a guard that is 6’2 that is averaging nine rebounds per game that is elevating and shooting over people that is so versatile even in well in college defensively on so many different people because he has the length and the strength um yeah it’s it’s again it’s always nice when you hear the Rook say the right things and it makes me smile and now Monty’s got work to do and I guess that’s the biggest thing is like the draft is the first part of the off season this is officially here I guess if you want to rewind the first official thing they did was reach a deal with Malik monk to bring him back which was important to do and now the draft night one’s done what can you get get done in the next few weeks free agency and then trades it this is an important stretch you see what’s happening in the west there weren’t a ton of crazy deals today but you know you you even saw Denver move up and get Don Ron Holmes which was very interesting right you saw Minnesota make an aggressive move jumping in a trade with the Spurs to get Rob Dillingham who I absolutely love this guy is so explosive and fun just an absolute bucket that’s a team that was one of the best teams in the west just got a young explosive guard yep point guard I mean you know a guard but like someone who can obviously handle the basketball and create and just make someone like Anthony Edwards even better um yeah when you when you look around the Western Conference uh that’s just on night one of the draft we haven’t gone a free agency yet we still don’t know Brandon Ingram’s future right Paul George could he land with the worse the point is these teams in the West are damn good Memphis Draft Zack Ed today right they’re just better they’re going to they should be a lot better than they were last year with all the injuries everything that they had to deal with Houston what what do they end up doing with some tweaks so the point is you have to have to find ways I mean I don’t know I I call me crazy but I’m going to be shocked if the Kings tip it up opening I like well they’ve got seven guards and maybe they can clean up by the deadline yeah that can’t happen no and I’m with you on that because I I even think even if you are a believer in the internal growth in development or leap of Keegan Murray being um someone that is just a different type of confidence next year scoring the basketball being aggressive who I mean who knows if Malik Monk’s role even changes like does he become a starter like there’s a part of me that I’m like I don’t know could that happen um so there’s all these different things that can change that can move but you have to have tweaks and moves and not not just like oh we picked up some future assets you got to have things different for next season you have to do that while dearen Fox and domas sabonis are in their Prime you got to do that right after you reigned Malik monk Keegan Murray in his third year like it is just so important especially on a night that you do draft a guard it’s not it’s not about making even just like oh let’s just make a fan base happy no no winning will make the fan base happy and you’re seeing how competitive and difficult the western conference is and it this just doesn’t feel like it’s going to move the needle right I think it helps but yeah just as it’s currently constructed that’s what I’m saying yeah June 26 I’m with you on thate 26 and something I said when the pick was made is like if you’re Deen Fox tonight right yeah we we read the stuff in the athletic where it’s said hey Sour’s close to situation he hasn’t SED the extension yet he wants to wait to kind of see how this this roster is built out there’s really a push to try to build this into a winner so Monty since he’s been the GM since with dearn Fox there given dear an extension drafted Tyrese drafted Davon you know Colby and then you know tonight de dein car it’s which it’s just that’s that’s the thing you know it’s like is that that that’s a tough sell tonight but you know if if there’s a bigger picture to this which leads to hey man we were able to upgrade the four spot we got more athletic we added some legit size we’ve got more versatility and on top of that like we cleared up some of this this these guards that we have and we’ve got defensive versatility where we have people who can defend like I mean I look at if you have Devon who can guard let’s just let’s say he can’t guard one through four okay say he’s one through three okay well last year do we not see Keegan Murray defend Steph Curry yeah and other guards multiple positions all right dear has the ability to defend multiple positions Keon so you start having that type of defensive versatility that goes a long way I saw someone in the chat goes oh cool we got a Davon replacement here’s the difference between Davon Mitchell and Devin Carter Davon Mitchell does not have a 68 and three quarter span that that’s just different right and as tough as Davon is on Ball even on bigger guys at the end of the day Devon Booker is going to turn around and hit a jumper on him because there’s just no length there and so if you have that length that can go a long way and that physicality and you hear about how good he can be off ball as well so I think there’s a lot to like about Devin Carter like Devin the player is going to be a lot of fun to watch yeah but and I’m excited about the prospect of him as a player we’ve been watching him throughout the draft process it’s more just all right like I need to see I need to see the full picture now I I just as it stands today I’m like okay it’s like when you’re you’re doing you’re switching around your bedroom or your living room and you’re switching Around furniture and it’s like you have some missing pieces or it’s just like it doesn’t work and he’s like I need to see the full picture cuz like this is giving me anxiety like that’s where we’re at we’re like I don’t like the couch over there I this rug is not going to work a lot of these pieces are way too small in this living room it needs some life some girth yes just like that King’s fans are going to love Devon Carter yeah just just wait you guys it’s that for the people who are on the fence about the pick in general I I I actually think less people are on the fence about the pick it’s about Devon Carter the player I should say it is more about okay well I want to see like what else are you going to do cuz we’re now when you watch this guy play he’s going to bring energy in life and I think that’s so important to have I think sometimes the Kings lacked that it was like it was hey Malik can you give us something off the bench and we don’t have the spark from anybody else I think Devon adds another layer to that and when you have a guy who’s going to bring it on both ends we SP so much time talking about what he does defensively which is great but it’s the rebound his ability to push his I don’t give a [ __ ] I’m going to go ahead and pop this transition three oh I can go ahead and attack the basket finish at The Rim I can go dunk the ball there’s going to be standing ovations for this guy in Sacramento now front office make the other I love it we’ve we’ve said it so many times because we’ve been I mean we’ve been talking for five and a half hours now you know like since an hour before the draft started and with so much anxiety going into what the kings were actually going to do and starting to lean toward the excitement of okay maybe they’re going to trade for an established player and this is the direction they’re going to go and then when they did end up going in this Direction with Devin Carter I am excited about this player but I’m also absolutely with you inv validate anyone else’s feelings out there that are like but there’s going to be changes right absolutely there should be someone chat was mentioning Bobby poris yeah yeah if Bobby if the Bucks are really trying to let go of Bobby poris on a team-friendly deal he is a level of dog and toughness that this team needs a guy that will square up and fight somebody too but he’s also a good basketball player and you know the four spot you don’t NE you don’t have to have a star there it’s if you think Keegan if you’re bet is that Keegan’s going to turn into being like a legit offensive talent and that having more Defenders around him take some pressure off him there too allows him to focus more offensively and he could thrive in that role and then the guy at the four doesn’t have to be a high volume guy but can that guy hit a three-pointer yeah can he play tough can he get a rebound that’s kind of what you’re looking at from that position if you’re not swinging and getting some star that I don’t even know who that would be at this point but I’d be cool with Bobby poris yeah I’m completely with you and I’m so glad too that we got to talk to um perneel and in Bobby Gerald tonight with a little bit more insight on everything uh when it came to Deon Carter and their excitement toward it too yes that was a lot of fun we are going to be live again tomorrow at 1 pm for the second round of the draft if there’s anything that breaks before then you know we’re going to be live we’re going to drop stuff we’re going to be on a lot I I saw some people asking about Monty McNair’s press conference and I you know I don’t hey are you going to carry it live I don’t see it live anywhere um um I don’t know that they are doing it live so I would love to but I don’t think that’s going to be the case to oh wait that was 26 minutes ago did we miss it I do want to see I would like to hear some of it Morgan Reagan yeah I don’t know why I said you’re friend I don’t know either oh why isn’t it working yeah they canceled the countdown yeah I don’t know maybe they’re having technical issues but I haven’t seen any of the reporters tweet any comments from uh Monty McNair tonight so H who knows what else is going to happen uh but uh just a little preview on tomorrow’s stream we’re gonna obviously talk about anything that’s crazy that’s happening see what the Kings do with the second round pick but we’ll just hang out and talk about what Monty had to say everything that’s going around the league yeah ideas for the Kings we’ll talk to you guys too in the chat oh love ideas ideas are so fun well we appreciate you guys so so so much but we got to go happy NBA draft day everybody see y

Maybe Devin Carter is the best of Davion and Keon combined. Davion or Keon (or both) may be on their way out.

go talk to this guy! So far, his thumbnail from 3 WEEKS AGO is 2/3 correct
Wrong move once again. Wasting time drafting 6'3 guards that wont play. Sacramento should have drafted Bronny James.
Great pick!!!!! Devin Carter is a game changer
"Why play w your hand behind your back? …if #MalikMonk is good enough to finish, good enough to be your guy in OT, he's clearly 1 of your best 3 or 4 best players, for crying out loud, why are we screwing😢 around with not playing him w as much minutes as he should play? And usually that starts w starting the guy." 🫡 I"m with Bobby Gerould! I sing that same tune. Sandra Hammel from RI
Would love to know the guests' names and twitter handles. I have picked up Bobby, as a first name, but not his last name. Especially since this is so long and haven’t been able to listen from beginning and pick up the guests' names. Edit: Caught the full name: Bobby Gerould.
3:17:32 a breath of fresh air from both guests. If anyone is supposed to be treated like they're beyond reproach, this version of the Kings will plateau between mediocre and great
Praneel needs to learn when to interject and not cut people off so much.. love his insight though
