Cam (Mini Doncic) Spencer

Just watched Spencer's tourney highlights and love what I see. They let us come out of the draft with arguably the most important player on both of the teams that went to the championship. I think there's no way this guy doesn't crack the rotation for us. 44% from 3 on nearly 6 attempts, second leading scorer on the best team in the country, former Santi Aldama teammate. If you watch this highlight video below you can see his craftiness. He's slow but he's got so many shifty little things he does to take advantage. Great passing, a solid spin move that he uses a lot to try to get the open shot, a wild stop move that he uses a lot, and every three is basically right on the line. He's just got crazy craftiness and basketball IQ, I love it so much. This guy will hustle at all times and do everything to get the most ideal shot. What are your thoughts fellas?

He’s a great competitor and has the minimum tools to not have to stretch your imagination in him being a workable player in the NBA. (Almost) Nothing is gifted in this league, but if anyone can do it, bet on the psychotic competitor. And being a real shooter instead of a theoretical one is a plus.

I was watching some of his videos on YouTube, this guy seems like a psycho in the best way.

Him and Vince would be fire.

What if he is our JJ Redick?

Skill wise he’s just as good as Reed Shep (maybe slightly less athletic) and the Grizzlies got him at the end of the 2nd round.

I didn’t think he’d go first round but I really thought he’d have gone higher in the second. It’s not simply that he shoots so well from the perimeter but he did it in the most competitive of situations at the college level.

He’s healthy (*Love ya, DRose, but you gotta play SOMETIMES, my guy*), he’s mature, he’s a true point guard and a fierce competitor. And unlike other point guards in this draft, there’s just no way he believes that he would ever start anywhere in the league. He knows he’s a rotation guy. That makes him well-suited as a backup.

Between he and Wells (*whose game I also like*), I think he’ll see more playing time this year.
