The Scouting Report on Cavs 1st-Round Draft Pick Jaylon Tyson – Sports4CLE, 6/27/24

uh took Jaylen Tyson with their first pick in the draft it was 20th overall ESPN draft analyst Jay billis with the scouting report on what the Cavs are getting in that first round draft pick Jaylen Tyson a Texas kid that first went to the University of Texas then to Texas Tech and then transferred to Cal he is a strong long armed powerful Wing that’s a three-level score he’s a good shooter but at 66 he’s got point guard skills and an excellent guard rebounder scored just under 20 points a game this last year shooting under over 46% from three and averaged about seven rebounds a game good passer one thing he needs to do is become a more impactful Defender because he’s got the ability to do it but Jaylen Tyson has ability and his ability to score and also to pass his versatility and his productivity and his pick and roll ball handling very impressive he has the ability like you said Jay with his assists three and a half assists per game he can be a secondary facilitator also and we talk about all the time players and how they grow the way they expand their game the way they continue their work ethic those are what keep you in the NBA putting in the work and growing and we’ve seen him be able to do that
