The Memphis Grizzlies Just Did EXACTLY What The NBA Feared..

the Memphis Grizzlies are breaking the NBA and I don’t think people realize what this team just pulled off the Grizzlies are doing the unbelievable and from defense to offense this team has everything figured out the Memphis Grizzlies just did exactly what the NBA feared and that’s what we’re going to talk about in this video Zack Eddie is a fascinating Prospect standing at 7′ 3 in without shoes with a 7 f 10 in wingspan and weighing 299 lb he boasts the tallest longest and highest standing reaching this NBA draft class he’s been dominating and improving each season at the college level what’s particularly interesting is that Donovan kingan who shares many of the same question marks as Edy regarding the transition to the NBA’s pace and space style is almost guaranteed to be a top 10 draft pick probably top five it’s puzzling how kingan often gets the benefit of the doubt compared to Edie some people argue that this player archetyp is outdated in the modern NBA but I disagree look at someone like Steven Adams Eddie could have a similar impact if he reaches his potential in 2022 the Memphis Grizzlies won 51 games with Adams playing 76 games and starting in 75 averaging 26.3 minutes per game he was a crucial though underrated part of that team’s success both on and off the court in the locker room he’s a mature and positive presence on the court his screens are invaluable for guards who rely heavily on pick in roles it’s no coincidence that Jah Morant and Russell Westbrook had their best statistical Seasons playing alongside Adams he’s dedicated to setting effective screens every possession which along with his rebounding is his main role on the court I believe Zack Eddie should model his game after that style Steven Adams known for being one of the strongest players in the league thrives primarily due to his basketball IQ he may not be the fastest or the highest jumper but his understanding of positioning for rebounds sitting screens and playing defense makes him highly effective these skills have allowed him to average 26.8 minutes per game and start for several successful playoff teams throughout his NBA career Zack Eddie hasda potential to be an even better version of Adams if he focuses on the right areas of improvement Ed’s basketball IQ is frequently praised and it’s impressive considering he only started playing basketball seriously at the age of 15 his footwork despite not having a lifelong background in the sport is remarkable moreover he has a clear understanding of his role and capabilities without any ego in an interview Eddie said I think it just comes with kind of realizing who I am I’m never going to be the wiry 7 foot guy who can play like Kevin Durant I’m a 7 fo4 300 lb guy I’m built to be in the paint to carve out space to protect my area and that’s what I’m going to keep doing I think there’s a lot of people in the NBA that do stuff like that Valen sunin zubac Steven Adams guys who had a lot of success in the NBA being those paint presences I’m going to stick to who I am and I kind of know who I am by focusing on his strengths and understanding his role Eddie can become a valuable asset in the NBA much like Adams as he moves to the next level Zack Eddie must continue improving his Mobility while it may never be his strongest attribute understanding where when and how to position himself defensively will be crucial his size is a significant advantage and with the right defensive support he can be effective however if teammates struggle to navigate screens consistently his Mobility might become a liability therefore his success will partly depend on the defensive Talent around him the most critical aspect for Eddie is becoming a consistent and productive player as a roller this involves setting great screens and exploiting mismatches by being an elite play finisher he has the potential to excel in this area the third and most important swing factor in his game is developing into an effective and consistent short roll passer if Edy can become an above average passer who makes quick decisions he can be more involved in the offense and potentially serve as an offensive Hub his ability to screen players open and then find the open man if the defense shifts towards him could significantly enhance his value on the court one fascinating aspect to watch is how Zack Edy who was the focal point of Purdue’s offense transitions to the NBA at Purdue he received post touches and backing down opportunities on nearly every possession Whenever there was a mismatch it was clear that it was Eddie’s time to shine this constant Reliance on him as the primary offensive option made him a central figure in their strategy it will be intriguing to see how he adapts to not being the central focus of the offense in the NBA this shift could allow him to conserve energy and focus more on aspects like offensive rebounding defense and becoming a more versatile player conversely it might affect him negatively if he’s used to being the go to guy and needs that roll to find his rhythm and confidence on the court ultimately I hope Eddie lands on a team that fits him well and is motivated to experiment with him giving him ample minutes to develop and learn from his mistakes one promising sign is his 70% free throw shooting which is impressive for a big man especially given the volume of attempts his form at the foul line is fluid which bodess well for his shooting potential considering the current state of the NBA there’s no reason Eddie shouldn’t be attempting three-pointers down the road not necessarily right away or even in his rookie or sophomore Seasons but within 5 years he should be a threat from the perimeter he doesn’t need to shoot a high volume like Brook Lopez but developing a respectable three-point shot is something I believe he can achieve I hope his future team believes in that potential too additionally it’s it’s important to consider how Eddie’s role might evolve over time in college his sheer size and skill set made him a dominant Force but the NBA presents a different level of competition and physicality coaches might initially utilize him in specific situations to maximize his strengths while minimizing his weaknesses this strategic deployment could help him build confidence and adjust to the PACE and style of the professional game as he gains experience idy could expand his role and become a more integral part of his team’s overall strategy moreover Eddie’s work ethic and attitude will play crucial roles in his development his willingness to adapt and embrace new challenges will determine how quickly he can adjust to the NBA if he approaches this transition with the same determination that he showed in college there’s a good chance he will find success the support system within his team including coaching staff and veteran players will also be instrumental in his growth having mentors and role models who can guide him through this transition will be invaluable Zack Edy’s Journey from being the focal point of Purdue’s offense to finding his place in the NBA will be an intriguing one to follow the potential for him to develop new skills like a three-point shot while leveraging his existing strengths such as his free throw shooting makes him a promising Prospect with the right team and support ity could become a versatile and impactful player in the NBA continuing to evolve and adapt to the everchanging Dynamics of the game I don’t necessarily think Zack Edy will become a star player but I believe he can be a valuable piece in the right situation who knows he might even develop Beyond expectations NBA teams seem to have concerns about his defensive capabilities Jeremy woo noted Zack Eddy’s defensive Mobility remains a concern for the produ Stars game in the eyes of one NBA front office executive with Eddie the fear is about his ability to guard in space when guards turn the corner on him and his ability to recover and get back into the play you might have to commit to gimmicky defenses this is a common concern for many big men such as yam Ming and more recently ALR singing of the Houston Rockets over time players adjust with NBA training and eventually improve in these areas if they don’t they may see reduced minutes or struggle to stay in the league that said Eddie brings a lot to the table with his size skill set and potential for growth his offensive abilities particularly in the paint and his rebounding skills can make him a significant asset for a team that knows how to utilize his strengths while mitigating his weaknesses with the right coaching and development he could evolve into a very effective player moreover it’s important to remember that not every player needs to be a star to have a successful and impactful career role players are crucial to any team’s success and Eddie could very well carve out a niche for himself in the NBA his work ethic and willingness to adapt will be key factors in his long-term success overall I truly believe Zack Edy will have a long career in the NBA he has the tools and the potential to overcome the challenges that lie ahead let me know your thoughts in the comments and if you enjoyed this video please leave a like And subscribe don’t forget to check out my other videos and most importantly have a great day peace out
