Spurs Get A Steal With Harrison Ingram

Spurs Get A Steal With Harrison Ingram

what’s going on everyone so the big name in the draft for the San Antonio Spurs obviously is Stefon Castle uh he is now the foundation piece added to Victor wanyama he’s a guy that can play know really either guard spot I don’t really like the idea of him at the point guard I I see a lot of Spurs fans throwing out like oh he’s probably going to play a point guard I don’t really like that um I don’t think he’s a true playmaker I think he’s a guy that can make plays right he can initiate the offense he’s a guy that can find the open man make again make plays but he’s not really a true play maker and the Spurs keep trying to turn these guys that can make plays and trying to make them a playmaker and it’s just not really working in my opinion but regardless whatever happens with Castle I think he’s going to be huge for the Spurs I think he’s a guy that is going to be excellent on both sides of the basketball he’s a guy that in three plus years could you could look back and go oh he was the best player in that draft like seriously he could be the best player in the 2024 draft he is that good um and excited for his future Spurs future and him alongside Victor wama right but another name that not under the radar for Spurs fans but for everyone else is Harrison Ingram now the San Antonio Spurs I were able to pick up Harrison Ingram with the 48th pick in the draft and I I think this is huge so I did a whole video on Juan Nunes uh and explain kind of the situation going on with him and why he’s not playing next year but um you know go check out that video after this video if you haven’t already seen it but Harrison Ingram I think may have been a huge steal for the Spurs right I mean this is a guy 21 years old so there’s plenty of room for growth upside and potential um comes from a very prestigious program in UNCC right North Carolina and he was a big piece and a big factor there he’s got good size good strength good athleticism right he’s not a perfect player I mean there’s a reason he fell to 48th but he’s a guy that I think for a team that is looking to grow and develop and build this foundation for now in the future and kind of be this young team that can potentially um you know develop in the next great Dynasty or next great team alongside Victor whama I think bringing in Harrison Ingram was a great acquisition I think he’s he’s in many ways a Spurs guy very unselfish uh moves well without the basketball a guy that can you know make the occasional play for others not really a playmaker right like um but he is a guy that can again kind of keep the ball moving I think he’ll fit very nicely into the Spurs system and and the way that that Greg papovich likes to to play basketball and move the basketball um this is a guy that I think has a real allaround game that can really complement just the the rest of the pieces on the Spurs team right this is a guy that you know he’s not he’s more likely than not not starting out the gate not more likely than not not starting year one but he is a very good rebounder for his size um and a guy that could go get bucket uh this is a guy that averaged 11 uh with seven rebounds and 2.9 assists got after on the defense side with a steel of game um he I I just I really like what he brings to the table for this team and another thing I really like is you’re starting to see between Ingram and Castle the Spurs are are starting to add those versal perimeter guys that can defend do the Dirty Work right play B sides of the basketball um because you have what may already be the best defensive player in the league in Victor wiama which is crazy to think about as a rookie but I mean that’s the reality I mean you could have made a a very compelling argument for him to win Defensive Player of the Year as a rookie right I think he probably wins it next year but as you saw with the Spurs last year you need more than just Victor wanyama on the defensive side of things but now you start adding in a castle who’s a versatile defensive guy that can defend multiple positions and out on the perimeter and switch and you know add in a Harrison Ingram again another guy good size good length uh can defend and play multiple positions can defend out on the perimeter can switch right now you’re starting to to Really piece together some quality pieces that come in and Harrison Ingram coming out as a junior you kind of get you know you’re getting a little more adult right you’re not getting some 19-year-old kid that comes in that thinks he’s you know a stud and and best player ever right you know he came as the 48th pick in the draft right and look the Spurs have a history of of nailing second round picks right Spurs have a history of finding those real Diamonds in the Rough and and being able to find that guy that can contribute um you know when when other teams are like ah you know he’s he’s a big development guy Spurs are a team that is known to be able to develop those guys so I I do really like um the fact that you’re you’re really starting to see the Spurs begin to piece this roster together in my opinion um I do think that the Spurs kind of you know I I obviously you need some young talent that you can grow and develop especially with the new Seas CBA right especially with such young team but I’d also like to see the Spurs kind of push their chips in a little more like see the Spurs you know maybe go get some more some more veteran guys to kind of help expedite this thing a little bit right but regardless of whether they decide to do that or not I do think bringing in Castle I think bringing in Ingram um I think it just gives you another guy that can really just just do multiple things and defend in in multiple positions and that’s what they really need right they really need um these these ver this versatile defensive wings and that’s basically what the league is today in a lot of ways just who has the most impactful fensive Wing guys but it’s not just about throwing bodies and guys out there on the basketball court obviously right I think that that’s what’s the beauty of Ingram is I mean they said it in like the broadcast like he is a the Spurs got a Spurs guy and I I really do believe that I think that that is probably the best way to explain it the Spurs got a Spurs guy Spurs got a guy that can come in and play whatever role is asked of him um can play and with you know all the various systems that that pop likes to run he’s a guy that’s going to keep the ball pushing he can defend uh on the other side hit the open shot put the ball on the deck a little bit again he’s a little bit of a project he’s he’s not I don’t expect him to come out the gate and be you know a world beater but I do think he’s a guy that right out the gate can can you can you’ll be able to see some of those gems I think you’ll be able to see some of the like okay this this guy might actually be something um so anyway as always this is a discussion pass question on you let me know your thoughts and opinion down in the comments below what’ you think how do you feel what are your thoughts on um what’s your thoughts on the Spurs Draft period um do you like the the picks which one is your favorite um you know what do you think of Ingram do you think that he’s a guy that yes he’s going to be able to come in got a solid defensive kind of three and D Wing right in the in the modern era that’s what you really need do you really like do you really like this pickup um do you think no like he’s he’s not the guy right I just I really liked the the Spurs Draft right I thought they they kind of got the guys that they wanted trading the eighth pick little questionable right like considering um especially for you know a a a team that you know their star seems to to want to win right now um but you know in just in general I think that uh the Spurs I thought they had a very nice draft think they got the you know their their draft and stash point guard that is that is a real playmaker that can come in you know in a year and and really make an impact you know they got their their running mate alongside Victor whama that can be that establishment piece be that guy that grows alongside Victor um and really have an impact on both sides of the basketball then got another uh just quality prospect that I think can can again be another two-way guy on the Spurs roster that can do multiple things and and kind of fit in seamlessly into the system in which the want to run I I I thought that they had a very good draft um and I was genuinely surprised um but how do you feel what are your thoughts do you feel the same way I do you not whatever it is however you feel I’d love to hear it so let me know down in the comments below that being said if you appreciate yall see you in the next one thank you

Spurs had themselves a draft picking up Victor Wembanyama costar in Stephon Castle. Castle is the pick getting all the attention but the Spurs also got Harrison Ingram and he could be the perfect fit to the Spurs roster and drafted in the second round.

  1. I think the jury is out as far as Castle being or not being a play maker. He was a PG in high school for a reason. No need to rush our judgment on what he is or isn't. Especially before he's even had a chance to show us all that he truly has.

  2. It does not Matter. Wemby will leave anyway.

He will not be patient. He cannot wait for the Spurs to be good.

He will take his talents to South Beach and be Like LeBum James.

    Right?

  3. Parker went #29 & Ginobili went to #57, but they're still HOF's!!! Maybe this guy can follow suit huh?!!!….Spurs4Life baby!!!! 😎🤟💕💯

  4. So murray just got traded away from ATL, spurs picked up a FRP & a swap in '30, 31 respectively. I propose to idea of spurs trading for Jalen Johnson from ATL, forget trae young! Aside from spurs playing the "long game"(see spurs trade for picks 6 years in the future) we OWN ATL by the balls. We could take the whole team with our assets, so why not take a diamond in the rough about to have a breakout year and add him to Victor?

  5. I think Nunez is good, but why get a guy who is still playing overseas. We need a point guard now not later and as long as we keep Tre Jones as a starting point guard we will be in the same spot as last year cause Tre is not going to improve his play he's already as good as he's going to get and he's very good

  6. Victor Wembanyama should be playing for some BIG Market Teams.

He should be playing for the Lakers and be LeBum James' SLAVE like Anthony Davis.

Or he could play for The Knicks. Wemby will make New York Relevant Again.

Maybe Miami. Wemby will bring Class to Miami.

Wemby could also play for Cleveland. He needs to clean the Garbage Legacy LeBum James left on the City.

    Wemby has many Choices.

I think that Wemby does not have enough Class to play for the Spurs.

He is Below David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Sean Elliot, Avery Johnson, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili.

  7. Trading away the 9th pick made alot of sense. This draft class was very weak. In any other year Dillingham would bot have been a lottery pick..so why would we draft him so high and have to pay him 1st round money. So we saved some money, left our options in FA open, and have more draft capital. You never know what can happen 7 yrs from now

  8. We need to just bring in James Harden !!! always averages double digit assist, and can create his own shots.
