good man yeah I’m glad we made it to Friday I was telling you yesterday that it was already feeling like a Friday yesterday with the draft and everything and uh I’m a little afraid today’s going to feel like forever but I think we’re going to have a fun show and so hoping uh as they say time flies well we are going to have some fun with this so I have a list and we’re going to get into this more so in the in the next segment when we break down all Everything bronnie James bman Jones almost a friend of the show when we were out in Vegas he has really had some things to say about it so I have this list I’m coming up with I want everybody to add to it because I know it’s a very long list as you talk about nepotism and nepo babies with bronnie I have an all neppo team oh wow okay and I will reveal the all nepo team I know I’m missing people is this just an athlete nepo no no allo everything that’s at 1012 that’s in a couple minutes so I know I’m missing people so help us out 9163 39140 you had an aunt or you know not a not a father or mother that’s not a direct relative directly job might just be in the same field right right you don’t play the same sport you know you know I know k j had a son that was playing football really okay Chris you said that ke and Murray some news on the Keegan Murray front with the USA select team to sharpen up the tools of the USA olympic team yes yeah Keegan was uh selected to the uh all to the USA select team uh it’s going to be a laundry list of of players uh you know more so the the lower I wouldn’t say lower tier but just team players that um you know you probably typically wouldn’t think of uh in terms of being uh you know Olympians or anything like that the select team is the team like you said that just kind of scrimmages against the actual big club uh you have Jaylen Duren Cooper flag who obviously is the the biggest recruit out of college right now M Langston Galloway former King and free agent and I’m assuming he’s played overseas uh Nigel Hayes you got Trace Jackson Davis haime hakz Brandon Miller Trey Murphy pmy Micah Potter pton Pritchard Jabari Smith Jr jayen Suggs amen Thompson and Keegan Murray so at the very least I mean you know put the lengthy Gallows the Nigel hazes I think at the very least it’s a good sign that even from the outside looking in Keegan Murray is in the convers like because you know Keegan’s not a big personality um and he’s you know he’s the third or fourth option on this Kings team it’s good to see that he’s not you know I would suspect he wouldn’t be forgotten but it’s good to just kind of get that recognition and and understanding that you know Keegan is definitely seen by everybody in this in this USA basketball scene so most of them are on the younger side yeah for sure yeah definitely yeah it’s usually for the next crop of guys who might be you know making the feba team next and we’re continuing to break down the NBA draft it has come to a close and really a lot of our reactions that we wanted to get to again got overruled be because of the draft or excuse me because of the trade so we are going to break down our final thoughts on the draft with the draft being over and how everybody feels about the draft is it weird that people are saying that the Kings actually won the draft does it make you just a little bit uncomfortable we will break all of those things down Chris you know as we sat here and and did so much breaking down of the draft and the potential draft picks this whole time does it still feel like oh my goodness it’s and it’s different when it’s easy to say and this is why the whole thing made be uncomfortable it’s easy to say this is going to be the worst draft in the last 25 years it’s easy to say that when there’s no faces or names involved right they’re just pcks yes then when you start seeing these guys family you start seeing their stories how hard they worked it feels not disrespectful but man we were talking pretty not we but the collective basketball world was talking pretty bad about these guys and I feel like there might be some winners in there yeah for sure I mean Devin Carter I think a lot of people are are specifically excited about for sure but I think it also depends on situation like people had questions on Rob Dillingham if he was going to be able to kind of thrive in an environment where he’s gonna have the ball in his hands like a ton and there’s gonna be a lot of pressure on him and now he’s on a Minnesota team and so I think that makes people feel better about his Prospect where maybe on the other side of that like people were really excited about Ron Holland and now that he’s going to Detroit people might have a little bit more tempered expectations for it I think that that kind of like you said it’s just now that they’re actual faces in a in a situation and it’s not just taking these players and and trying to uh uh evaluate their their skill set now you can actually see okay where specifically is this person’s skill set going to be utilized within that team system I think people start to feel better about okay I was thinking again like dillingham’s gonna have this wide openen uh uh range that he has to figure out okay where do I fit in now he’s going to be pigeon holded into a certain thing and so it’s just easier to see okay this is where he’s gonna be successful um I and I think it’s more so the backend guys I still feel like no one feels super great about Zachary racee going number one in Atlanta I don’t think a lot of people feel great about Alex SAR going number two to Washington but I think you know you see where CL I I think honestly kingan’s more so in that convers ation to now where people felt like kingan was going to be a Surefire hit and now he’s in Portland with DeAndre Aon and Rob Williams and it’s like well I liked his fit a whole lot more when I thought he was going to Memphis or I thought he could go to OKC wherever you thought he could have landed um besides the situation he was in so I I just think it’s more now people understand more the situations that those people are going to be asked to do and so they feel better about the draft but I still think the highend stuff still think people aren’t aren’t sold on this TR right right maybe it was how they say low ceiling but maybe the floor was higher yeah a lot of role players yes was higher than a lot of people thought Klay Thompson more news coming out of the Klay camp and the Warriors camp in general with some drama with Andrew Wiggins and the Canada team Andrew Wiggins it was a mutual decision from Anthony Slater he is being told for Andrew Wiggins to not play with Team Canada some of that is his nagging injury some of that is the Warriors don’t want that injury to get worse because Andrew Wiggins is on the trading block meanwhile as they wait to see what happens with Paul George Klay Thompson knows that they’re waiting to see what happens with Paul George and Klay Thompson is probably on the way out it seems like it it seems to me like the Orlando smoke is only getting getting more and more and I saw a report today that you know and we’ve we went through that Bleacher Report article of them essentially signing every free agent like they’re goingon to sign Clay they’re gonna sign Tobias they were going to sign Malik Monk and uh it seems like now I’m seeing reports that they’re going to go after kcp who declined his option yesterday and Clay so that still Orlando I mean especially with Malik now out of the picture it feels like clay Orlando is full steam ahead we’ll see you know when onick today Mavericks oh yes i’ I’ve seen that they might have some interest as well they just traded Tim Hardway yesterday so maybe that’s going to be a part of that decision is they’re trying to clear up some space to maybe sign clay I think the the point that both of us I think are getting to and seeing a lot is doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of clay is still considering going back to Golden State it seems like clay especially mentally has seemingly moved on from that situation and if you really want to tick me off Chris I saw something Ramona shelburn was on the Warriors Flagship and she said that kaminga is Untouchable there’s a lot of calls for kaminga and Brandon psky and Brandon p and kaminga is untouchable right and also Brandon pky right and she said to some extent so this is what we’re doing what does that mean so the Warriors He’s Untouchable kind of the Warriors want to contend the Warriors want to go all in yes and K can’t trade anybody kaming is intouchable but they’re gonna but you have to how are you g to trade for PA because everybody wants that that Chris Paul expiring deal which I’m probably under selling a little bit but if we’re talking about Brandon psky being Untouchable then you really don’t want to go all in I agree that that that just that and Mike duny Jr basically said I’m not sure we want to go all in one name Chris as the Blazers draft Donovan and kinging that I find intriguing and I know it’s probably an overpay and I’m not saying the Kings should do it but if you talk about a last chance you situation yeah would you take a flyer again maybe not necessarily for the Kings but I wonder what the league thinks about one DeAndre eight yeah I do Wonder no I know it’s it’s really interesting’s not bad he’s not bad he’s not bad he’s not he’s cooked the Kings before I mean I think people like you know he’s he’s definitely not a bust but he has not lived up to number one expectations and especially when you go in the same draft as you know Luca and Trey and I I you know I definitely think jiren Jackson’s a better player than DeAndre Aon is he’s better than Marvin Bagley but doesn’t necessarily mean that he he’s panned out to where he was supposed to be I don’t know man like I and I know he just signed a contract too with Portland uh when he got over there and so you know that definitely probably changes a lot of people’s perspective on it to me he probably like I would probably rather have Miles Turner than than DeAndre Aon right now so I I kind of feel like don’t let Dave hear you say yeah I know I feel like he’s it’s somewhere in between Miles Turner and Jonas valent Tunis like I think I would rather have Aon than yonas or yes Aon than yonas but I feel like I would also rather have Miles Turner than than Aon and so you know he’s what is that probably puts him like in the mid to low 20s in terms of big man or maybe maybe I’m Mis evaluating that and maybe he’s more High Teens but I think it’s just he’s he’s an average Center he’s good he’s he’s a really good scorer but I kind of feel like nobody’s unlocked what what everyone saw in him initially and I think the problem is now he gets paid like somebody who has to have a certain level of impact and kind of feel like he needs to again kind of be more of that yonas valent chunis like fourth fifth option is he more skilled I know we got get to the other side how much more skilled is he than Zach Edy offensively DeAndre Aiden yeah oh a ton I think a ton I think I mean that’s that’s the thing that is so enticing about Aon he’s got a mid-range jumper he’s got a really nice touch around the rim he’s kind of soft I think that’s been the biggest problem with him is defensively he can slide his feet really well he’s a great athlete but he just doesn’t really physically impose himself he’s never leading the league or anywhere near the league leading in blocks um never really been a a defensive player much at all since he’s been in the league and I think at the moment he’s really just a again kind of like yonas like he he’s just a good offensive weapon but the other side of things hasn’t came and you know especially in today’s League you have to be able if you’re going to be the only Center out there you have to be able to defend and protect the rim and he just hasn’t done that we will get to the other side and just talking about Chris Paul and speak of his name and he shall appear about 10 minutes ago Golden State and Chris Paul intend to move back the date to guarantee the $30 million on his 2024 2025 contract to the start a free agency on Sunday deadline was originally today this gives the Warriors time to keep exploring trade so it gives them two more days yeah am I reading that correct yeah no absolutely yeah I think that they’re just trying to figure out exactly which direction they want to go and you know I think that that’s probably a sign that they’re very very active on the on the trade front because they yeah they’re they’re pretty unsure as to what where financially they’re going to stand and I think that’s really what that’s about is trying to figure out if they’re going to need Chris Paul’s 30 million in order like you said to kind of get to the Paul George salary figure or um if it would just be best and I don’t think it would be to just let him walk and let that $30 million off their books because I’m pretty sure the Warriors are so far into the second apron that even that 30 mil would still put them in some form of luxury tax so on the other side if you are the Clippers why would you want CP3 is it simply to take that 30 million and then try to flip it or because it’s expiring it’s going on I I guess what a lot of people are having trouble understanding is if Golden State can just I think the buyout is five million and get that off their books yeah why would a team want to put CP3s 30 million on their books just to wait for it to come off their books at the end of the season it’s a great question no I mean because I guess you’re Chris Paul and he’s actually playing I I think that I don’t think Chris Paul I mean first off yeah that $30 million is not wor Chris Paul’s worth like especially at this point in his career he he’s not a $30 million player um I kind of think it would I assume it would be yes everything you said I would it’s some combination of it where it’s it’s an expiring contract so it either comes off your your books next offseason or like you said as well you could use it as a trade chip yourself I don’t think anybody is is bringing in Chris Paul thinking yes we just got Chris Paul he’s going to add to our situation and and potentially put us over the top obviously he’s still useful he still can be a point guard that gives you 20 to 25 minutes but you know for that Clipper situation I mean you probably would rather have you know I don’t know how useful Chris Paul is gonna be there this age j harden and kawhai out there as well right because the only way Chris Paul would make sense because Paul George it’s 40 it’s 40 something so it’s 40 something million for Paul George so if you take Chris Paul then you can’t even take Andrew Wiggins unless you give the Warriors something back right so I if I’m the if I’m the Clippers you can figure out Chris Paul somewhere else give me Andrew Wiggins unless get to that $40 million a different way right so I I understand why the Warriors and Warrior fans feel like Chris Paul can be used somewhere I don’t know why it would be specifically used with Paul George because the Clippers because he makes so much right the Clippers kit I want a hall yeah for for for for Paul George I mean maybe we’re seeing a lot of salary dumps happen here and I maybe it’s going to be hey like a version of hey take on Chris Paul we’re only using this Chris Paul contract as the $30 million in order to reach that Paul George money here’s like four first round picks or three first round picks on top of it because we understand that yeah you’re not really getting much with this and you know I I think maybe that’s it and it’s also you know Golden State’s going to be a little bit desperate to get rid of that Chris Paul like to to actually use that Chris Paul contract because let’s not forget that’s the only thing they have to show for the Jordan pool trade and so they have to say you know if you just essentially say yeah we traded Jordan pool for a Chris Paul contract that we just eventually let walk and again like we let it walk but it didn’t really do much for us financially in terms of flexibility or anything it’s already a lost trade now it would be completely useless for you so I think that there’s be an element of Golden State trying to save face a little here and say hey we have we the whole point of us acquiring this Chris Paul contract was so that we could then flip it into something else let’s at least make us feel better by by using it how we intended to use it yeah interesting which I don’t think is I mean and that’s that’s a good bit of me just trying to guess what what their thinking is yeah I’m still thinking Spurs I know the Spurs got Stefan Castle you can learn under Paul George and and then that money comes right back off off the books and you can go and get whoever whoever it is moving forward 916 33914 let’s get to David wants coming up you have a professional basketball father you have all these connections with all these trainers and all these guys yeah and all these places you can go that all these other players can’t and Steph lived up to it Steph broke the the barrier no he eventually did though but that that’s you guys are looking too much at the Steph Curry today but the Steph Curry that what like how how did nepotism help Steph Curry get zero offers and go to David no but I’m but I guess whaton James has went to USC and Bry no no you’re right on that and I guess your guys’s argument is just there’s levels OG to stay healthy there’s less Reliance on OG to be the guy that we kind of saw him in that second half you pay 42 million I I just mean in terms of like there’s not the there’s not the heavy load because you have male there you still have Josh Hart you have divon chenzo you have Brunson it doesn’t have to be you know if if you can afford more guys to go down and you know they already had a ton of injuries last year I I think it’s definitely an overpay if I were even the Kings I would be very very nervous about paying OG and Anie that kind of money but for the Knicks they’re viewing it as this is the final piece that brings everything together and they’re also in a situation where they’re a bit desperate too because they shipped off Emanuel quickley who also just got bagged out by the way and they traded off RJ Barrett so they kind of they had no choice they were hamstrung which is the entire point of at the trade deadline why everyone said be cautious when trading for these Toronto guys because OG had and he was true to his word he said he was going to test free agent at the time you knew you were going to walk into a situation where if you wanted him you were going to have to pay for him and you know credit the Knicks they they were not afraid to put up the money when they needed to so uh hopefully that situation works out for them because I I don’t see many other pivots besides shipping off Randall and and and Robinson yeah and William Llamas on the sack chat is saying what about Isaiah hartenstein I think I saw a report the other day they’re going to try and get him to sign for uh less money than what he could possibly get out in the open market I think OKC uh was rumored to have interest in him and potentially he could get up upwards of $20 million the were trying to do I have learned more about what exactly they’re trying to do but um you know I I understood the logic of hey this is a salary dump and again this is this is in order to make room for very interesting trade that happened during the draft that a lot lot of people probably didn’t even realize happen or make note of it but it did really light the the light bulb went off for me when I saw it and that was um yesterday during the draft Denver traded Reggie Jackson to Charlotte for three unprotected second round picks and when that happened I kind of then more so understood that this was the price of getting underneath either a a a an apron or getting under the luxury tax there’s only a certain amount of teams out there that have luxury that that are underneath the salary cap it’s the teams that frankly when we were talking all season long about who can go get Malik monk the Pistons the Hornets which is the team that uh Denver did this deal with uh Toronto is one of those teams which is why the Kings did this deal with Toronto as we were wondering like why why Toronto why does this make any sense why would you deal with Messiah and let him seemingly win the trade um it’s because Toronto is one of the only teams on that list that had the capability to just absorb cap and not have it affect anything they’re really doing and so essentially how I imagine that situation goes is the Kings say like we all knew even at the time hey we’re trying to make a move or we want to get access to our full mid-level exception whichever one it ends up being we have to dump some salary here there’s only a certain amount of teams let’s call Toronto Toronto says okay we’re willing to play ball but you have to make what is in it for us yes we have the cap space yes we like Davon a little we like Sasha a little but they weren’t necessarily where we were planning to go with this off season how are you g to make it worth our time and that’s where the 45th pick comes in that’s where the second second round pick comes in and I guess you could say if you’re going to comp the Denver Reggie Jackson in three seconds to the king situation you say here’s Sasha instead of just Avon in three second round picks so again I now have a better understanding of just what the market was saying is the price for getting underneath these aprons and Tim Hardaway same thing you see that Tim Hardaway gets traded for a t with a ton of picks in order to get Dallas under a certain salary cap so it’s more just understanding I I didn’t fully understand because the kings were kind of the guinea pig in this of what the cost was going to be to get underneath the salary the salary cap to get underneath the the tax aprons and all the or the luxury tax I’m sorry not under the salary cap the kings are still above the salary cap they’re beneath the luxury tax um so I just have now a better understanding of okay it still wasn’t a good trade I still think you sold low on davon’s value I still think you could have figured out like a different trade for Sasha um but ultimately I I think uh you know it it’s it’s just unfortunate that I think we gave up a a very I shouldn’t say very valuable but a a piece that you really could have used in a different trade just in order to get underneath the cap I get it I just it’s it’s just unfortunate yeah because you bring up Tim Hardaway Jr yeah and three second round picks and I get all that I feel you but I like and maybe I’m too high on them I like Quinton Grimes I like Quint Grimes too and that’s the difference too is yeah I don’t really enjoy Jaden Jaylen McDaniels like I don’t think I don’t think that’s a great piece to get back as well yeah so I I hear you on that I think that this was the deal before the deal as far as what Monty McNair has to do there has to be a deal and I think the thing is there’s no guarantee that there will be another deal because not because money isn’t trying right because it doesn’t work out yeah just simply it just it just doesn’t work out yeah no I mean it gives them the flexibility they want but to your point like I I kind of have until we see exactly what it is because even that could be underwhelming like you know we think that this could be in order to take back some salary via trade but if this is truly just to get the full midlevel at 12.9 and then they use it to get Nai Marshall well then I have to ask would I rather have Nai Mar then you just think essentially think of that as the trade Nai Marshall for Davon Mitchell and and Sasha venkov and I would still probably say okay it’s different I won’t necessarily say that’s a guaranteed better so I say all that to say I I the the problem with reacting in real time is I can only take and we can only take what it is at surface level at and we can try and figure out the reasonings and the logic behind it but until that next move is made I really can’t say this is successful or this is an absolute great deal because like I told Frankie and Brendan and in the round table right now as it currently stands until they make another deal and even in this other scenario they did make more deals this to me just continues to feel feel not is but feel like that Nick stais Carl Landry Jason Thompson and a a pick swap which ended up being they swapped three for five which could have been Jason Tatum versus dearon Fox it feels similar to that because I mean and again the Kings used that cap space at the time they did that move to relieve some cap they ended up signing Rondo and Marco bellelli with that didn’t quite work out the way they wanted it to that’s why it feels similar to me because this is still a a dump and there’s promise on the other end of it but that promise doesn’t necessarily mean it’s 100% going to work out if you haven’t seen our video on YouTube reacting to the trade yesterday go check it out it is doing some numbers I think everyone’s seen it it’s got big numbers it’s got big numbers you guys did good job we want them to get get bigger and look the bottom line is it’s real it’s raw this is how Chris and I reacted to everything and the reason I bring that up is because when I was reading a lot of the comments Chris and it’s funny because you don’t respond to YouTube comments when we when we post Clips oh yes yes I do yeah and I love to read all of them and one of them that I saw they were saying this is everybody is so certain that this is the move after the move and that makes me uncomfortable I don’t deny that it is intended to be the move before the move but it hasn’t been made yet so our job is to talk about what is not not to talk about what is going to happen and a lot of people were saying Chris how do you feel about this or what are your thoughts a lot of people were saying in the comments I don’t know what you guys are talking about Jaya MOS is never gonna put on a king’s uniform a lot of people were saying that as if he’s going to be part of the next deal no I mean there’s there’s also no guarantee I mean yeah I don’t know where where that is where that c he has no value yeah I mean Toronto if you read and you did you read some Toronto reactions to it and they’re they’re throwing parties they’re throwing a parade right now because jayen McDaniels is off their team and you know he had a really bad season for them doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to have uh a Bad season for the Kings or wherever he’s at next season he’s in a contract year uh moving forward I I kind of think yeah I mean it’s it’s it’s a guess that people are having and uh you know I I I understand that but you know I I again we can only take things at face value I think Jaylen McDaniels will probably at least Beyond training camp roster I don’t know if there’s any guarantee he’s gonna be here for game one though fox in around on the sack chat bring Ingram to sack that is at 11:30 fox in a around we will break all that down at 11:30 from the 480 where is the 480 that’s a like a big it’s the Kessler Edwards role but he’s a lot bigger than Kesler Edwards so he’s a little bit more defensively versatile than Kesler Edwards so if if that’s the role that they have envision for him I think that’s great it’s just kind of like a a you know a guy that you throw almost like a mercenary you just kind of throw him out there you’re like we need somebody to to plug this hole I hope that can be his role and maybe he can expand on it but that that’s what I would expect him to do from Jaylen mcdo himself yesterday there’s some audio floating around it’s I don’t know how great it is to play over the airwaves just because they’re in a gym and you know they’re they’re they’re bouncing basketballs and doing a lot of things but basically the Crux of it is jayen McDaniels feels like this is his he does say the words Chris which we never like to hear he does say the words revenge tour he’s talking to his trainer saying this is our opportunity we’ve been here before so he does have something to prove so if he does play I I at least think that we will get the the best version from an effort perspective from Jayla McDaniels and we will see what happens coming up next it’s there also the Kings signed a couple dudes after the draft ended Isaac Jones Isaiah Crawford Boogie Ellis all right I mean Chris how are you feeling about these dudes some of them have some good length on them Boogie Ellis is just you know a guard as well but explosive he was Bron’s teammate he sure was at at USC why don’t you give us the breakdown on these undrafted undrafted players that will be playing summer league yes uh this is a really exciting time you know immediately after the draft everyone kind of rushes to go get the guys uh that I feel like GMS and the scouts really really like and those are the undrafted people uh they it’s just a mad race to go get everybody I’m gonna shout out Kings Herald for this write up uh they wrote a nice little piece on on both of these uh two-way guys that the Kings have just signed Isaac Jones and Isaiah Crawford and we’ll get into Boogie Ellis and just a minute Crawford uh is a 66 senior wing with a reported 7-1 wingspan which is just absolutely phenomenal he played Five Seasons uh with Louisiana State Bulldogs in his final year he averaged 16.3 points 6.2 rebounds two and a half assists 2.1 steals in 1.7 blocks in nearly 33 minutes a game he shot 48% from the field and 41% from three he shot over 41 % from three in each of his final two seasons and uh clearly C they write clearly Crawford’s defensive numbers and deep shot success are impressive the Athletics Sam Vini had Crawford at ranked 56th on his big board and praised Crawford’s defense abil abilities in his 2024 draft guide but says he has concerns about the speed of Crawford’s shot in the release at the next level Crawford has already Allan he’s already become a fan favorite he’s already people are clamoring for him to become the new Keon Ellis uh this is from Global scouting who who usually just does General NBA draft stuff uh they write about Isaiah Crawford Isaiah Crawford was a clear firstr talent in my eyes at 66 with a 67 wingspan The Versatile Wing average 16 per game while shooting 40 over 40% from Beyond The Arc the last two seasons he averaged 2.1 assists or steals 1.7 block this season showcasing his Elite defensive versatility he also averaged over two assists per game these last two seasons an absolute crime he didn’t get drafted so there is a lot of of draft people that are excited about Isaiah Crawford but a ton of Kings fans who have watched his tape or his highlight reel I guess I should say and you know you you look at it it’s a really really smooth shot he is 66 he’s got a long wing span it’s a forward that I think a lot of people have been clamoring for obviously everyone wanted the Kings to draft the forward this is uh this is their way of kind of addressing that uh I think it’s going to be a really exciting addition to the summer league Squad will be a great addition to the g-league squad I think he’s going to do a lot of big things and you see those defensive numbers you know I think that’s that’s the most exciting thing is that he is first and foremost a defensive player but somebody who has a lot of offensive weapons and if you can if you can just figure out how to how to translate some of that to an NBA level you’re going to find a role the other guy is Isaac Jones Jones is an undersized 68 forward uh with a reported 73 wingspan playing three years at a junior college before spending one year at Ida Idaho in his final year at Washington State in his senior season uh with the Cougars he averaged 15.3 points per game 7.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game he shot 57% from the field Sam Vini had him as 69th on his draft board and highlights his strength and his motor and finishing ability but has concerns on how he’ll create offense at the next level Allan both of these guys are defensive uh defensive Specialists yeah and I think that’s no coincidence we’ve you talked about it really yesterday quite a bit uh that that it really does seem like the Kings maybe in a previous life would have gone for these offensive juggernauts but it seems like defense is coming first and foremost and anything on top of that is gravy if you can be a good shooter if you can be a good rim protector I think those are the two things that the kings are more so looking for uh as your as your secondary things that you can bring uh and then yeah Boogie Ellis like you said is somebody who played with bronny James at USC he has signed an exhibit 10 contract which from my understanding is pretty much at the moment just a a higher level summer league contract uh and he will be playing with the Kings I assume here in Sacramento and I also assume in Vegas so uh he’s a guard he’s uh he is you know somebody who uh did get a good amount of run uh with Isaiah Collier out last year uh there were some Scouts that that felt like Boogie uh could have been drafted higher he is a senior uh again out of USC he averaged 16 and a half points per game three assists three rebounds shot 42% from three I’m sorry from the field and uh shot 41% from three this past season at SC he averaged 17 a game last year as well so he’s been a big scoring player for them he is a six-foot guard uh so he is definitely a point guard uh at the next level and could be somebody who you maybe see uh in Stockton as well as I believe uh I I saw yesterday Jordan Ford and Jaylen Slawson are technically because the Kings have now used all of their two-way contracts and I think only have one open roster spot I believe uh that Jordan Ford and Jaylen Slawson uh would only could only be brought back as stocked in play strictly stocked in players uh strictly as summer league invites and they are they’re currently just restricted free agents okay well I’ll tell you this much Chris I’m looking at Isaiah Crawford and I like what I see I I really don’t understand the it’s interesting when you watch him off the dribble his shot doesn’t look as slow as I think the profile mentions but when he’s wide open he takes his time yeah so I don’t really know what to do with that but I like what I see I like the re specs I like all of it yeah and I’m excited to see what he does Isaac Jones as I watch him obviously you know you could argue better competition Washington state in the Pack 12 rip yeah like you said I look at him and offensively it’s a little bit more of a question mark for me than than what I’m seeing from the other two guys but hey look uh any anybody can hit Chris anybody can hit and I have this link here as we talk best undrafted players these are this is from 2021 the 10 best undrafted players in NBA history okay so at number 10 they have JJ Berea okay at number nine they have Jose Calderone all right at number eight they have Avery Johnson at number seven Brad Miller Brad Miller at number seven that is correct wow number six big payday for this guy and a Champion by the way Fred Van vet at number six at number five another champion Udonis Haslam number four another champion Bruce Bowen number three John St Starks number two Connie Hawkins and number one guess said Ben Wallace Ben Wallace Ben Ben Wallace the defensive Savant so you never know what you could find Chris yeah no I mean it’s it’s you know it’s it’s not just undrafted but it’s second round players too everybody just kind of discounts them as uh yeah you know whatever oh what a random addition I’ll never hear from this player again oh they’ll be in stocked in it’s whatever no these guys can definitely there’s no reason why they can’t become contributors obviously there’s a ton working against them uh more so even just the politics of everything of like hey you have we got to try and make our our drafted players or our current players work before we’re even going to give you an opportunity but you know you it’s just about maximizing where you’re at and you know we’ve seen crazy things Keon Ellis again at this point last year was a two-way player and an afterthought I think a lot of people were more excited about nus K’s future with this team than Keon Ellis and here we are sitting today talking about hey I don’t know if the Kings can draft player X because Keon’s got to get some minutes so things can change very very quickly and you know I wouldn’t suspect that these guys are gonna be a major contributor to this team this season but man you just you never know in today’s League I never thought Heywood heith would be starting finals games but there we were two years ago and uh you know he was a really good player for Miami yeah can we get a check on who Sacramento is the first city that he lists one team to monitor for Ingram would be Sacramento the Kings have been weighing paths to acquire various Wings Source it said from Kyle kado that’s a that’s a a typo Kyle kma Zack LaVine and Ingram could be another option for Sacramento to explore or said that is a Ron Burgundy situation right there gotcha um what was that La you said uh two oh oh gotcha gotcha um yeah I mean it it definitely feels like Ingram like I kind of said earlier I mean if if the value of CZ is going to be uh maybe higher than what we think and Brenan I think said yesterday that he he doesn’t necessarily think that you know just because Denny went for that that that necessarily means that kozma is going to go for more maybe maybe they view Denny as more valuable than Kyle kma especially with the contract that Denny’s on um but yeah I mean it definitely makes sense it kind of felt like the Brandon Ingram front was pretty quiet for a minute um yeah and I I think he’s obviously you know if you’re talking about him kozma and Zack LaVine he’s the best player of all of those guys he’s the most talented 100% especially on the offensive end um I think on the defensive end you you kind of have a lot of questions I think there’s more theoretical potential for kman I think as a Defender we’ve seen him be a Defender before obviously in those bubble days with the Lakers um Ingram that’s never been a part of his bag he’s always just kind of been a shot Creator a shot maker and can also really you know I feel like his ball handling is uh pretty underrated as well he can be kind of your your backup playmaking option I think I think you can run pick and rolls with him in sabonis um and I think it would go really well I I do have some concerns and I put it on socials um I I didn’t quite word it how I wanted it to come out but essentially I just kind of think that I have some concerns about his fit in the king’s system uh you know he is somebody who I think you know he really shined when Zion was out which I think is a very very useful tool the Kings need if dearen or or domas were to ever Miss time they would definitely need somebody to kind of be that that star that steps up and Brandon Ingram is more than qualified to do it um but I it’s the the the we call it the equal opportunity offense right I think that’s the thing that has me a little bit concerned uh is you know in this free flowing spread offense is Ingram gonna get the touches that he needs and the touches that he wants in order to kind of be the Brandon Ingram that we need him to be and then on the second side of that as well he’s gonna the whole reason the Pelicans are trading him is because they don’t want to have to pay him that next contract and that next contract is probably going to be a Zack LaVine contract where he’s making 5050 million per year that’s the part that really starts to scare me especially when you tie it into what I just kind of mentioned if he is going to be somebody who’s a second option which I think is obviously fine second options can you know Jaylen Brown’s making 64 million or whatever as a second option so it’s not necessarily that’s the problem but you know with sabonis and with Keegan needing at some point to to get more shots up as well you’re going to be paying Brandon Ingram that $50 million which will be at least for some period of time here the highest paid player on the team you know does that necessarily make sense for this squad to have three guys potentially making over $50 million in Fox when he gets his extension bi and sabonis it it’s it just has me a little concerned I’m not sure if I’m full-blown I’m not doing it I’m not doing it I think bi is a good enough talent to where you figure the rest out later but it’s a bit concerning a dude that seems to kind of Thrive the most when he’s the primary option him as a second maybe a third option I I just don’t know how comfortable he is in that role and how willing he is to accept that well I I’ll approach this in kind of two parts okay the first part is going to be the money situation and I would just think at this point Chris just like you said before it’s pay to play these days and if you’re looking for someone that can be considered a big three you’re going to have to pay them at some point yes it would be to because even even the whatever the situation is okay are you trying are you going to win that championship before kozma’s deal is done you’re gonna have to pay these guys you know you’re gonna have to pay these guys so I think it’s just the the the cost of admission these days and it’s going to happen and we know dearin would then supersede him and and we go from there I really want to take this to the the I guess the question of fit because I don’t know I know there are a lot of versions of the Kings offense you have out there Tyrese halberton in in Indiana with the Pacers they play uptempo things like that but they have a sakam who SE yakum doesn’t need the ball but he’ll ISO as well and it it begs me to ask the question well I understand the offense that the kings run but then I would ask you how many teams or who are the teams that run the type of offense that the kings run that have been to the promised land I I I guess I would say if you’re adding a talent like Brandon Ingram and you’re going to have to pay him should you have a qu should you have questions as I’ve had and we’ve had throughout the season maybe there needs to be some augmenting and tweaking to the offense just on its face yeah for sure I mean yeah it’s something we’ve kicked around a couple times um you know as you’re going to get more talented players who have are are a little bit more accustomed to having higher usage percentage you know the sabonis having the ball and then you making a decision in 0.5 seconds yeah doesn’t really fit everyone’s play style and you know it’s a question of do you want to bring in players who fit your play style or do you want to at some point bring in talent and again like start to adjust from there I think you know as it currently stands I would guess if bi is gonna come in they’re gonna have to at least relinquish it a little bit maybe that’s still one of their core principles but you know they they will have to run more pick and rooll because do need to take advantage of Brandon Ingram having the ball in his hands and isolating sabonis and bi to run their own pick and roll on their own isolated side and and take advantage of that and maybe you know weaponize that a little bit I think the Kings definitely would get into these LS and these of rhythms really of of just kind of going through the motions with their offense and when it shots aren’t falling the offense would get stagnant and people would would just be chucking them up sometimes and uh it it definitely needs some adjust in for sure I just don’t know if there’s any signs that that’s going to happen I mean we think it can and you know it would make sense for it but Jordy was the defensive coordinator the offensive coordinator and J Triano is still here yeah not saying Jay is you know this has been the system J Triano runs his whole life and he doesn’t know anything else he I’m sure he can throw some adjustments into it but just in terms of you know personnel there hasn’t really been changes that would suggest that’s the direction they would go not saying they wouldn’t but there’s just nothing right now showing that that would be the case right and we had this conversation with the Mike dantony office as well but to be fair Mike dantony he had more to go off of could could I get to the promised land I’m so close we’re getting to the Conference Finals we’re doing things like that when you look at what the kings are doing right now and you see okay well we you know with this current regime dearen going into his eighth season now not not eighth season with this regime but okay we were the three seed and then yes injury but and then we didn’t even make the playoffs I I don’t think that’s enough to say well we’re not going to take because that’s the thing if you look at the three names that we keep kicking around we’ve asked the same question with all three I think we’ve landed on kozma being the easiest to probably figure it out but when it comes to Zack LaVine and Brandon Ingram to a lesser degree K kosma all three of those guys they’d have to learn to to kind of fit that system and I would just say yeah somebody said it on the sack chat as well I mean I the Warriors had a bit of a system yes they got Kevin Durant but I I saw those issues when I was in the Bay Area we all did in 2016 when it wasn’t as free flowing towards the end of the game and it’s time to get it bucket the Kings don’t have enough bucket getter so if you’re asking me hey do do the kings need to dial this back to you know accommodate bucket Getters I would do it in a heartbeat you know I would do it in a heartbeat so you got to figure it out life is about life is about changes life is about being able to to be flexible and you’re not able to be flexible then the game is going to pass you by because these names are all these names that we keep okay fine maau Bridges is probably a name that would be easier to fit the system and we just saw what what he went for so and and I don’t and I don’t even know if maau Bridges makes you as good as the team with cusma I have no clue yeah all I know is that I can’t sit here and say we’re we can’t do something or the question marks that I have get fully bypassed by the fact that I want another bucket getter for the kicks yeah no and I mean I think of a closing lineup of fox monk Brandon Ingram Keegan and sabonis and I’m licking my chops like you talk about you know in in the final minutes having as many shot creators as possible those are three guys who I’m very comfortable having the ball in their hand and fox Monk and Ingram and then you just put Keegan out on the corner you have uh Malik out there possibly if he’s not one of the people on ball in beyond the perimeter as well that’s really scary you got sabonis clearing the lane setting screens and and keeping them open in the pick and roll I I think that’s a fantastic lineup and yeah I would definitely hope that you know they can get a hey maybe we run this offense for 42 minutes but the last five or I guess it would be 43 minutes the last five we have to I mean just because and it ends up naturally happening because things get tight and coaches stop being a factor players start to take over but I would guess in general they should probably even outside of those last five minutes they should run more ISO if they are going to bring specifically Brandon Ingram I think Brandon Ingram would be wonderful in a pick and roll situation with uh with de Mona sabonis or even I I would love to see some it doesn’t have to just be sabonis setting screens if we can get some guard screens going we can get Keegan Murray involved in some pick and Pop I think this offense can go to Crazy different levels they just have to be willing to experiment with some things and maybe go through some lumps first if you look at the Personnel that is probably going to be moving and grooving right Kevin herder oh he really fits a system he might be out the door Harrison really he might be out the now you’re coming with likeon Ellison Mitchell’s already gone you got Keon Ellis you got Devin Carter guys that are going to be different within this offense so don’t think I’ve ever heard him talk actually I know nothing about brand I yeah I couldn’t tell you where he’s from uh obviously know he went to Duke um yeah anything about his personality I can’t tell you any of his likes I can’t tell you if he’s a golfer or anything like that don’t think I’ve ever seen a commercial from him no I don’t know if he’s an Adidas guy or a Nike guy I would assume a Nike guy kind of feels like he’s a Sacramento King he could be he definitely could I think he would like it in Sacramento in terms of I mean especially yeah this is a dude who played in LA and yeah we don’t really know much about him so he might enjoy the low-key lifestyle a lot more than uh than what you know some of the other NBA players of his caliber might I I I think he he would enjoy it um yeah it’s just kind of I mean but we also just don’t know because we don’t maybe he does like to be in the Limelight maybe he does like to have attention on him but you know we just we just don’t know 530 I think Ingram would be a great fit because he’s actually a great playmaker and passer look at his assist numbers are actually quite good oh we watched we watched him make some really nice plays against the against the Kings yeah six times six on six different occasions yes we definitely watch that all right no more procrastinating okay it’s this simple Chris but okay when I say it I get to explain it as well okay I’ll let you explain it I will hold reactions and facial expressions until after because it’s one of those trades where if I add something else it’s going to feel like too much okay but initially you’re probably gonna say the Bucks would say it’s not enough but hear me out okay I had two version okay the Kings receive Brook Lopez who has one more year on his deal and Bobby poris who has two more years on his deal Brook Lopez at 23 million Bobby poris for 12 a. half million for the Toyota Corolla package straight up Harrison Barnes and Kevin hder the money works and that’s it that’s it so the Bucks they want more versatility I’ll give you more versatility Harrison Barnes we know he can do some things offensively he can shoot the three ball defensively he can guard uh the the forwards as well Kevin herder you add some shooting I feel like they’re going to move on from Pat I know they want to move that that piece as well if not you keep some shooting you get off of that Brook Lopez deal for for wing and you you don’t want to go off Bobby poris but yeah and and and what I was gonna say was if the Bucks say absolutely not you give him a first good that’s it um I yeah I don’t think Milwaukee says yes to it I think that they first off they’re not like really replacing those guys like I think if they get rid of Brooke and Bobby they’re going to need some form of a big in order to replace him because I don’t know who their other Center options would be that would be my guess is that they would look for at least one of those forwards I think Kevin herder makes a lot of sense for their team HB he’s gonna be a bench player for them no matter what they’re not GNA start him over uh over over Chris Middleton they’re obviously not going to start him over Giannis so that’s the only one where I I don’t really know what he would do for Milwaukee though we probably asked that question about where he would what he would do for 20 of the 30 teams in the league so um I yeah I I feel like Milwaukee just wouldn’t feel great about trading two guys who are pretty important to their title run for two in terms of playoff success pretty unproven guys too I just don’t know how they would be able to sell Harrison is a long time ago but yeah yeah yeah maybe uh yeah I think they would probably want more even a first round pick I feel like they would just Brooks exping it would just feel a little empty to them I think he’s 36 yeah yeah he is he’s he’s 36 but I mean they still would want something I I mean I’m not saying these two aren’t usable they’re very usable players for sure I just don’t know if that’s filling the holes that Milwaukee needs to have filled and I’m also pretty sure that Milwaukee doesn’t have uh a lot of a lot of cap space either so these are kind of the ways that they have to make moves and I you know those are in a way of kind of in a weird way those are their versions of Kevin herder and Harrison Barnes It’s just had a higher level those are their best trade chips to potentially get a different team or get yeah make their team look different I don’t know if that’s the route that they would look in in order to kind of reshape what they’re looking for but I I definitely think Kevin herder has to be involved and I think Harrison has to be involved for the money but I I feel like you got to th you you know this is a situation where maybe I wouldn’t want to do it but like if you throw in a Keon Ellis maybe that starts to make them uh a little bit more excited he’s on like no money at all and so that’s just kind of like a a trade sweetener if you will um yeah I mean I I think maybe that could could could maybe get Milwaukee a little bit more interested in it I don’t think it’s like throw it away put it in the garbage all right I put Keon in there Harrison Kevin her and Keon yeah for Brook Lopez and Bobby because that then also starts to ask from the Kings fan side of like because 100 out of a 100 Kings fans are doing that trade yeah and I think that probably tells you Milwaukee it’s not a good deal for and so if you throw Keon in there and it then becomes Barnes herder Keon for Brooke and Bobby I think that’s kind of starts to level things out a bit and I think King’s fans would then start to wonder like okay well I like Keon and I don’t want to just get rid of her like what then you ask really what does Brooke and B and Bobby bring to us because now it feels like we’re getting rid of something too and yeah I mean in terms of what they are giving you I I definitely think that it be something the Kings could use uh Bobby would would probably replace Trey Lyles fully um so maybe Trey can get involved in this too instead of maybe Harrison or something maybe you can work make those work out um I I think it’s interesting and I think they could maybe they could at least have conversations we know Monty has made or or almost made a deal with Milwaukee in the past and then eventually did get Dante dienzo in the building so there is previous relationship as well uh with the king’s front office and Milwaukee front office so this could definitely be something that’s at least discussed between the two sides I I definitely don’t think it’s something that’s you know throw it out no Allan you’re living in Crazy Looney town or anything like that I’m trying something here Chris okay actively cooking same deal but in instead of Harrison Kevin herder Trey Lyles Keon Ellis and a 2026 first round pick yeah I mean I think that’s that’s um that’s something I could see it be a matter of how do they how do they view Trey LS would kind of be the uh the the exercise that Milwaukee would have to go through I think personally I would probably from Milwaukee’s perspective I’ll take Trey lyes who makes probably half what Harrison Barnes makes and I’ll take that that extra first round pick uh and you get Keon that that I think M probably gets Milwaukee a little bit more excited because Trey is more of like a back you know exactly what Trey is and Trey knows exactly what he would be walking into where Harrison like we kind of said is in a a bit of a limbo in between uh with that team I think that one might make a little bit more sense for Milwaukee but you know I you know I’m I’m also speaking from a king’s perspective of things so maybe maybe somebody with a Milwaukee perspective might say that does for us or like oh my God no I would much rather have Harrison bar yeah well look and and here’s the thing now you you figure out who people deem touchable or can’t be uh you know I brought up the Nai Marshall signing to me it’s got to be one of these Brandon Ingram Zack LaVine Kyle kma Jeremy Grant names that they’re bringing in I trust that that’s what’s happening right now and I also I mean I really do trust Mon’s um at least his his scouting department and and the people that he has working with him in the front office I trust their eye and I think you know Isaiah Crawford as funny as it is the fact that I think there’s so many people on that are you know piling on and saying this is again another really great move and you know you can watch yourself and and definitely feel those same things I still trust that they know what they’re doing that they know NBA talent and and you know I think that’s why the jayen McDaniels thing is a little bit confusing uh but I I still trust that this front office is going to bring in the right people because they’ve been very calculated they’ve been very patient and I feel like when they do make moves they make it purposeful which again is part of the reason why I was so confused by yesterday is you guys are so so meticulous so many deals haven’t gotten done right why was this a deal that got done I think was something that took me a while to even just get over that IAL shock and saying all that I I just I I believe that all of this patience will pay off and that they are going to bring in a player that’s gonna get a lot of Kings fans excited so I’m I’m still in Monty we trust for now though that thing can definitely change really quickly and I’m not just gonna blindly say oh no you know Monty brought in Zack LaVine and I I think you know if Monty thinks he’s going to be great then then I think he’s going to be great I’ll still definitely have some push back and you know if they bring in somebody that I don’t think is a big enough caliber player to do what they want to do I I will definitely call it out I definitely am not less confident in Monty McNair but I don’t know that I’m any more confident in him with with the draft and I think it is worth the question you know we had a caller I believe it was David earlier say that Monty has a type and he likes these and we’ve heard it from people on the text line and the call line before he likes these guards he that’s what he likes right and it just because it doesn’t mean that dein Carter wasn’t the right pick but I think we could say Monty probably was a little excited when he had an excuse if you will to take a guard because who would have known that it could that that he would drop this low so I think that’s I think that’s a real thing as far as the rest of the off season and offseason acquisitions you know Chris I’m not really sure how much control Mani is GNA have because you talk about a Zack LaVine who all of a sudden Zack LaVine the Bulls are now and maybe they’re postering a bit but the the Bulls are now saying oh well we might hold on to Zack LaVine we actually think he could work with Josh Kitty and and Kobe white and everybody that were bringing in and Matas bu right and and if nobody wants to pay it we’re not just gonna give him away and now you have Kyle kumman well we’re bringing in Malcolm brog did and maybe we try to make something happened there and K kusma has said he wants to be in DC so if those guys decide to stay or those teams decide not to move those dudes then then you’re looking around thinking okay Mon’s gonna have to wholly overpay like the Knicks did and because right now it’s gonna be everybody going for Brandon Ingram and M’s either gonna get priced out or he’s not which means that he probably would have to overpay just like an auction you know when somebody say exactly a million dollars and everybody else gets quieton one exactly it said all right well two million and everyone says well it’s not worth two million so I’m not doing that so it’s not that I’m it’s not that I’m less confident in manty and I’m not more confident in him but a lot of it doesn’t really have to do with him has to do with the market yeah exactly and and that team that he throws an offer to it’s gota view that right it’s kind of what we just did with the Bucks it’s like I can throw what we have the best of what we have but it’s still on that other team to want that back and feel that that’s good value for what they’re giving up too it’s a dicey situation I mean I I I’ll ask you this do you have confidence that a deal is right around the corner because to me a deal like yesterday might suggest that that you don’t make that move hoping okay hey let’s do this first and then we’ll address the business now that we have the flexibility right I would personally think that you do that deal knowing okay we have the structure of something to get done and the only way we can get that done is by first doing this move in order to clear the space so I ask ask you do you think that there is a move that’s already done or something that they feel like is right around the corner from being done or do you think this thing I’ll give it a week do you think that there’s a that this deal that we’re thinking is is is coming do you think it comes within the week or maybe even as soon as Sunday I think it’s possible but again it depends on how those first hours of free agency goes and everybody be by your phones cuz it’s going to be nuts on Sunday I think that that is why I don’t know if AAL can be that close because of the big players in free ages yeah no I mean that makes sense like I mean clearly the Warriors still don’t know what they’re even going to do with the Chris Paul situation which is why they moved it back I mean it seems to me like there’s just tons of people on the phone I I should probably also throw Paul George into that that list of names too because there’s no reason why if you’re kicking the tires on Brandon Ingram and and Zack LaVine and all these guys I would hope that you’re also still kicking the tires on Paul George I don’t think the Kings to kind of what you were just pointing at in your your previous point I I don’t know if they’ll have the the means to get a deal that’s looks better than what the Warriors could potentially package together but I would hope that if you’re willing to ship off with the assets that I think it’s going to take to get Brandon Ingram I would hope that you’re still willing to say hey well what could we give a team like the Clippers to maybe get you interested in giving us Paul George because again like we talked about yesterday I don’t know if the Clippers should be in any rush to give the Warriors Paul George that should almost maybe be like we talk about with the Knicks and the Nets deal if I’m the Clippers I’m saying okay like yeah your deal as it currently stands is better than what let’s just say the kings are offering but I would rather give him to the Kings for a little bit less than give him to the Warriors and and have to live with oh my gosh can you believe the Clipper I mean the same way the Bucks just gave the the Celtics a by giving them Drew holiday do you want to be in that same conversation of oh the Clippers just give the Warriors another run at at a couple titles by giving them Paul George or you can send him off to Sacramento and people can have a lot of questions and if it works out then no one’s going to be mentioning what a what a fool the Clippers were people are going to just talk about wow the Kings did this and no one really expected people had questions when Paul George joined them like is that really good fit will he be happy wow look at the success of just that situation without the Clippers really being involved so yeah I think if if I’m the Kings I’m kicking tires on everybody if I’m mon I’m definitely interested in all of these big names but it’s it’s on him to get the right one at this point because you’ve put yourself in a situation where people everybody everybody in Sacramento is expecting something to happen and I think especially after last offseason you can’t come out here in the next season and say hey Nai Marshall and a rookie and and you know here here’s a couple random flip-flops that we made within the rotation I just don’t think that’s going to be enough to get people excited and Jaylen McDaniels and jayen I keep forgetting Jaylen McDaniels come on what about Jaylen McDaniels his brother right his brother and I would say another name Chris who also has an eye on it Malik monk yeah for sure I gave up a lot of money and nobody made me yep but I’m sure there were some conversations say Malik you are not going to come back to the same roster right exactly yeah and I would hope dearen too like dearen you know as he’s waiting for his extension you know we we got reports that he’s not signing his extension this off season you know you can make him feel a whole lot better going into this season and telling yourself you know if you go into next season and don’t make any moves and you guys fall short of your goal Daren Fox can easily say well well what are we doing here you guys really aren’t giving your best effort if you go out and get Brandon Ingram you go get a Paul George and you know whatever injuries happen or whatever again things don’t end up how you want it to end up at least he can say well you know you know it’s all Nuance so maybe he will still say no I was saying I wanted results you guys didn’t get results but I would think especially with how dearen has treated his time in Sacramento I would guess he would say I appreciate the effort I appreciate the fact that you like we you know putting expectations of Derek white and Drew holiday on Devin Carter isn’t fair to him and I know that’s not what king Kim English is trying to do he’s just trying to get this fan base excited about the guy that he’s seen put in the effort and do things similar to those players I keep saying look right now what I’m expecting from Devin Carter his rookie year is like Davon Mitchell really like how how well can you fill what Davon was giving and can you be a better version I mean that’s obviously the Hope here they moved on from Davon I think the hope is Devon will be a better version a bigger version of Davon to me that’s what I want to see first and foremost then we can start to move on to okay is this guy like a Josh Hart is he having that level of impact where he’s definitely a a fringe starter somebody who you know creates havoc on the offensive rebounding front but is also a fantastic perimeter Defender can he be like a Bruce Brown in the sense of he’s playing bigger than what he is I feel like Josh Hart Bruce Brown those are realistic comparisons for me that’s like I can easily that’s not projecting anything insane it’s not saying he’s gonna be an Allstar or anything and I think it’s fine it’s perfectly fine to say hey if this dude is gonna pan out to his fullest extent if we’re talking hey what is everybody’s absolute cap and and you know if they if they accentuate every skill they have what do we think it could be that’s where I’ll start to hear the Derek whites the Drew holidays maybe Tony Allen fits more in the in the Bruce Brown Josh Hart realm but I feel like if Kings fans your expectations to for me from my perspective shouldn’t be Derek white Drew holiday those are I mean they just won a championship mainly because of those obviously Tatum and brown but right those two were heavy heavy contributors to that I don’t want to put that level of expectation on dein Carter right now can he just fill the role that he’s being asked to fill that’s first and foremost then we can try and figure out okay how high do we think this guy’s ceiling can go yeah and it always reminds me Chris and I’m trying to remember what the actual quote was but I just think dab o Sweeny with deshun Watson when he said they’re passing on Michael Jordan I think he said that when DeShaun Watson got drafted he said you’re passing on Michael Jordan or something he was pretty good he was not Michael Jordan he was I mean until he wasn’t yeah yeah yeah I think it’s more just your coach is always gonna hype you up when you leave I mean these guys because it’s good for their resume too Kim English can take this to recruits and say look I Devin Carter was a part of our our our organization a part of our our school our community and we got show but it’s very similar to me to these quarterback conversations when you have Trevor Lawrence getting bagged out and Tua Tua obviously Tua should feel kind of disrespected I mean they still no choice and I like Emanuel quickly but that’s just a going rate these days yeah no I mean I’m gonna ask you a question I just want you to answer it surface level who do you think is a better player SL who would you rather have Malik monk or Emanuel quickle Malik monk Malik Monk’s making $78 million Emanuel quickley is quite literally well I shouldn’t say quite literally because it’s not but just about a hundred million more than Malik monk Malik signs for $478 quickly signs for 5 175 like that’s insane to me and to your point like you know that a situation where clearly Toronto isn’t paying quickly off of what market value is they’re paying him off of we don’t have another option and in the same way that I I described it for the Knicks that they had to do the OG deal because they were a bit hamstr strong in that Toronto is like we gave up OG and got this guy back we can’t just lose him because that’s that was the big trade piece from that move and so you know both teams kind of got not screwed but they kind of were were their hands tied behind their backs they had to do this deal and I think it’s crazy that quickly gets that big of a deal you know I’m with you I I like Emanuel quickley but what are the odds that he exceeds the value of that contract maybe maybe maybe he meets the value of that but there’s a zero% chance that you’re GNA get any actual return on value for that Emanuel quickly deal there’s no way and you know how he’s going to at least meet the value because that TV deal is going to bump everybody else up right so then you’re going to look at Emanuel quickly making 30 mil and dearen fox making 60 mil and say that’s not so bad maybe yeah that’s not so bad Mak sense you know so maybe it’s one of those thinking hey this looks maybe not great now but this is going to be the norm in a couple years and this is why people like Kyle Draper and and people around the league are saying this is turning into Monopoly money it it’s remind me of the Bay Area it’s the Bay Area you try to buy something in the Bay area oh I got priced out all cash off off that’s what the NBA is turning into it’s nuts yeah it’s it’s absolutely crazy I don’t you know and I’m glad that the Kings for the most part have avoided it I know a lot of people weren’t thrilled with the sabonis contract last year and the fact that they just kind of gave it to him without you know with without any real reason for bumping his pay in the last contract but you know I I think it was to avoid this like if sabonis were to hit free agency this off season the Kings again would have been a team with their hands tied behind their backs because they would have been in a situation where there’s saying well we have to keep sabonis because we got rid of Tyrese for him whatever sabonis wants we have to give and it could have been maybe even like upwards of10 million more than what sabonis ended up getting I’m totally fine with him in that 40 million range throughout the duration of his contract and especially looking at these other deals like yeah sabonis is making as much as oan and newbie Deon sabonis is a much bigger impact player than OG and anubi and that’s no slight to OG but that’s crazy to me and that’s I’m I’m I am very glad that the Kings have been able to avoid that but like we talked about earlier with Brandon Ingram I kind of feel like that that that bill is coming due pretty soon at some point to what you said like this is a pay tolay league and it feels like that might be the price of admission if the Kings want to get to a certain level with all that being said y does it make you rethink the Zack LaVine situation possibly especially depending on what the kings are getting back in terms of assets because you again if they’re going to pay Zach if they’re GNA end up paying that money anyway whether it be to Zack LaVine or Brandon Ingram if you’re saying hey you might have to give up a significant amount for Ingram and just get Ingram in return versus you make a deal for LaVine yeah you’re still giving up maybe the similar pieces that you gave up in an Ingram deal but you’re getting LaVine and since we know Chicago’s in a hey we need to make this work out for you because that’s a big pill to swallow you’re getting assets on top of it you could maybe say that’s the more desirable deal if it just kind of depends on how you feel about Zach’s health and then how big you feel like the Gap if you feel like there even is a gap between LaVine and and Ingram’s talent and the fit too I mean I I definitely am more willing to consider it especially thinking of it in that light um it just depends on and it’s a thing we haven’t had any semblance of a clue as to what it means but it depends on what Chicago thinks is making it worth the king’s time is it one first round pick is it multiple first round picks is it maybe a young player even though Chicago doesn’t really have many enticing young players that’s the thing that could maybe set that LaVine deal that LaVine deal value over the top for me by the way Nate we have a name for the winner yes Rob he calls into the show occasionally uh he I believe he called in early this week your question is is did Monty McNair admit that he made a mistake in what as he moved Sasha was moving Sasha admitting that I I made a mistake I guess yeah in a way for sure like I I think it’s uh I which is obviously fair to him he deserves that uh and I think it was just a situation of like okay if you really really are prioritizing getting playing time and getting reps over potentially eventually maybe ending up in a situation you’re a role player for a good team then yeah I can find you an Avenue to do that I think it was a mixture of him saying yeah this didn’t quite work out how he wanted it to and a mixture of Sasha saying I want a bigger role and if not can you go find me one and this is him saying okay you’re kind of this this is him killing two birds with one stone essentially it is both admitting not defeat because I think he’s probably still believes Sasha is a good player but it’s him just kind of saying like ah you know it definitely didn’t work out how we wanted it to how we expected it to um we’ll give you what you want and it also helps us as well so I think it kind of serves multiple purposes all in one yeah and and like you said you know if you’re going if you’re going to move somebody if you’re G to be in that situation don’t mess around and Sasha I don’t know if it brings any truth to the stuff that we heard or if it just just means that Monty doesn’t really care to find out and mty doesn’t care to let anything else get out so yeah I I I’m I guess a little bit confused as to how people feel about the Sasha situation but ultimately I think that he wasn’t there long enough for people to have as strong of feelings as maybe a Davon Mitchell sure yeah I think uh I think people probably feel like he’s a bust or like it’s over for Sasha and that we saw the best that he’s going to look but I I just think that he was very very uncomfortable this season I think it can still definitely work out for him especially in a situation like Toronto where he’s just going to get tons of minutes I think somebody will see the value and I think it’s just about comfort with Sasha and once he’s kind of Mo feeling more like himself which I don’t think here in Sacramento he ever really felt like he could he could be comfortable like he could take a breath it always felt like he was fighting for something trying to prove something here um and I think with having a a prior relationship at least with that Toronto coaching staff I would assume he probably at the least feels like okay these guys understand me they’re going to Value me and we’ve talked about how much is Sasha a ownership or or or a front office Guy versus how does Mike Brown feel about him I think Mike Brown clearly was not the biggest Sasha supporter and I think maybe in that Toronto situation they would be more excited to get Sasha those opportunities yeah and family on the sack chat saying only 20% of the Euro League MVPs have made an impact in the NBA I don’t know if that’s specifically correct but we read off the names and it wasn’t as if Euroleague MVP definitely means that you’re gonna cook because again I wouldn’t even count Luca I don’t even think you
