Breaking Down The New Look Minnesota Timberwolves Team After Drafting Rob Dillingham & Shannon!

welcome back to another NBA recap video first round of the NBA draft is in the books and there’s going to be a couple teams that I’m highlighting individually what they did some teams that I think came out well in this draft and one of those teams is going to be the Minnesota Timberwolves so last year obviously they made the Western Conference Finals it was an incredible playoff run they lost in five to the Dallas Mavericks but they got there cuz Anthony Edwards was a superstar and their defense was not just good but historically good number one all year but despite this and them getting to the Western Conference Finals they just had a middle of the pack offense throughout the year even with Anthony Edwards so what do they do in the draft they go all in on offensive Firepower and get two guys that can create their own shots and be instant bucket togethers so going into this draft they had pick number 27 in the first round and pick number 37 in the second round they kept 27 and 37 for tomorrow but what they did is traded a 2031 pick obviously it’s very hard to map out what’s going to happen in the future but Anthony Edwards would just be 29 at that point so there’s a good chance that timberos are still very competitive as an is in the prime of his career and the peak of his powers and what they did is they traded up to get the number eight overall pick which is Rob Dillingham out of Kentucky one of the best pure bucket gathers in this entire class so the Timberwolves they had a need their dream scenario in this draft would be to find a guy that can sit under Mike Conley learn from him then eventually beat the successor to Mike Conley for the point guard of the future and Rob Dillingham could be just that they didn’t wait till 27 to do so they didn’t have to trade up for Tyler KCK or Isaiah Kier they’re going all in for a guy who could potentially be the best guard in the draft as far as scoring he can pass he’s a little undersized but with the Timberwolves defense in that culture that can only help him a ton so Rob Dillingham can be a big fit and they always say if you want to bet on something bet on Kentucky guards there’s just laundry list of them Shay gild Alexander Devin Booker Tyler hero Emanuel quickley Tyrese Maxi there are so many Kentucky guards that have worked in the NBA John Calipari even though he’s not there now he was a big part of Rob Dillingham dillingham’s development and we’ll be sending him to the Timberwolves like that and he’s going to be playing in the same back court as Anthony Edwards right now going into a winning system right away so that can only help and he’s also just 19 years old so this isn’t just something that’s going to help them be Championship contenders now if you’re talking about an he’s only 22 years old he’ll be 23 when the season starts he has a ton of good basketball before he even hits his Prime and Rob Dillingham is 19 years old they have a really nice core even besides them two that the timber roles are building then with the number 27 overall pick they got another potential self-c Creator that’s Karen Shannon Jr obviously had some off thec Court things that seemed to be in the past at this point but at Illinois he had a huge career he made a very nice run to to the Elite 8 where they just got eliminated by Yukon and March Madness but he was absolutely dominant and it’s another guy that can just bring them instant offense you’re talking about a team that made the Western Conference Finals with just a middle of thee pack offense if they’re a top 10 offense this next year or going forward with Anthony Edwards making another leap Rob Dillingham Taran Shannon as potential contributors this Minnesota Timberwolves team could be using that defense and using the strength of a developed offense and could be even scarier for years to come um
