[BREAKING NEWS] Woj reports Pelicans acquire Dejounte Murray in blockbuster trade with Hawks

the NBA Adrien wowski reporting that the Hawks are trading Deonte Murray to the Pelicans for two first round picks in the future Larry Lance Jr and Dyson Daniels Murray’s a former All-Star all defensive team selection averaged 22 points per game last season big help there for Zion last season Murray had a pair of career highs in points per game and shots made from Beyond The Arc he’ll spread the floor for the Pelicans who had only one player with more threes made than Murray last season that was CJ McCullum big big deal for them you got some breaking news out of the association the Hawks are trading to jeante Murray to the Pelicans that’s per multiple reports in exchange for Murray Atlanta will receive a package including two first round picks Larry Nance Jr and Dyson Daniels dejonte Murray spent the past couple of seasons in Atlanta 21 and A2 points just under 6 and a half assists per game he was supposed to be the answer with Trey young and create a tandem it never happened now he heads to Nola the P Squad that was knocked out of the first round of this year’s playoffs by the Oklahoma City the final year of a 2-year $99 million extension James has a chance to play alongside his son bronny after he was taken in the second round of last night’s drap which would make them the first father son Duo to play in the NBA at the same time D’Angelo Russell also entering the final year of a two-year contract with the Lakers player option worth just under 19 million Russell shot a career high 41.5% on threes last season but struggled in the postseason and staying in La Paul George entering the final year of a 4year $176 million extension with the Clippers George played in 74 games last season as most since joining the Clippers shot career highs in field goal percentage and threes NBA front office Insider Bobby marks with us now and when you look at PG-13 he has that deadline till tomorrow 5:00 p.m. Eastern time to exercise the player opt in or opt out owed $49 million who’s in the running for Paul George right now well Kevin I think you certainly have to keep an eye on Philadelphia they are the team that is sitting in the driver seat with cap space can certainly create up to $60 million they would have room still to go out and fill out their roster if they got landed a player like Paul George four years $212 million I would certainly think if you’re Oklahoma City you would kind of peak your interest a little bit if you were them to maybe revisit bringing back Paul George certainly it would have to be on a shorter contract here and then of course there’s Golden State if Paul George opts into his contract certainly makes it interesting if the Warriors can put together a trade package to get Paul George keep an eye on Paul George specifically and what he does production wise wherever he goes averag at least 20 points per game in nine straight Seasons meanwhile LeBron James has done it in 21 straight years and he has a decision to make here opting in opting out specifically what makes sense for LeBron right now Bobby Kevin opting out because when he opts out of his contract he’ll be eligible to sign the biggest contract in his career three years $162 million that also comes with a no trade clause he would be only the second player joining Bradley Beal with a no trade clause here but the one guy to keep our eye on here is D’Angelo Russell and certainly the decision by James will play a big role in the Lakers off season but D’Angelo Russell has a $19 million player option what Russell does whether opt in or become a free agent will determine what flexibility the Lakers have this off season to add in free agency or possibly in a trade I mean keep an eye too on LeBron James the first player to average 25 points in a season while being the oldest player in the NBA and now he gets the opportunity to play with his son bronny taking 55th overall in yesterday’s draft Bobby thank you so much bronnie family celebrating a very special night and of course today the news on what number he will wear in purple and gold that was announced it is number nine Mike and Frank with much more in tonight’s PTI bonus topic all right Frank you have any issues with the Lakers drafting bronny James I mean they could have waited another 15 minutes if nobody drafted him and just signed him but I understand why they did it it’s the same reason they hired JJ reick they want to keep LeBron happy LeBron Ops in if LeBron’s happy over his next two or three years that’s going to be a good thing for the Lakers my only issue with bronnie James is it the best thing for him I get the history of it playing with his dad it’s never happened before in the NBA I just wonder how some of his teammates are going to receive it is it are they going to look at it as he’s getting preferential treatment if it’s good for his development great I just wonder how he’ll be treated by some of his teammates and remember this you’re the 55th pick Mike know a lot of times those guys don’t make teams I don’t they don’t play a lot look at jayen Hood chafino last year the number one overall pick the guy played a total of 109 minutes and he was that first round pick so I have no idea how much Bron is going to play this year Frank I don’t have issues with the Lakers choosing bronnie I have issues with our colleagues many of them many of them my dear friends who wanted to make it the biggest story since dday we’ve known the Lakers are going to do this for a long time they were going they m they manipulated it it’s fine I don’t even have a problem with that but don’t tell me that that’s the biggest Story the biggest part of the story and heartwarming is bronny James a year after cardiac arrest 11 months coming back and playing and getting ready and going to combines and having workouts and being a professional athlete now that’s tremendous that’s the good news here and by the way he’s clearly had great parenting everybody who knows the kid talks about who he is and how he conducts himself and how he represents himself and he’s in a tough position all his life and he still this kid this wonderful kid he’s got great parenting so what it was going to leave if he wasn’t right there in the same building in Los Angeles that great parenting couldn’t travel to Denver or Chicago or Brooklyn of course it would so I don’t I don’t believe that whole side of the story he’s got to be there in the same building with LeBron no he doesn’t it this kid is ready to go out to the world more ready than so many millions of other kids who are that age who do it because he was raised right as my parents used to say so God bless him I’m glad he is healthy at least right now he came back from something that is lifethreatening that’s the only part I care about all the rest of this the griffy already did The Father’s son it’s great LeBron is going to prevent anybody on that end of that bench fr from being upset that Bron’s there you’re going to cross the old man no you aren’t but I hear what you’re saying is it the best thing for him yeah is it the best thing for him or might some other situation have been better I don’t know I’m asking the question but don’t tell me it’s the biggest thing since dday the biggest thing is his recovery and his continued Health yeah you’re right about that and I think we’ve talked a lot about you know the uh you know Caitlin Clark and the ex that’s on her back there’s going to be a Target now you you have the name James on your back in summer league regular season hope it works out for that’s it we’re NBA free agency beginning Sunday teams being able to negotiate with players starting at 6 Eastern and a couple of big names Klay Thompson entering free agency second longest 10e player with his current team behind Warriors teammate Steph Curry Thompson averaged 18 points per game last season few is since 2013 was moved to the bench for the first time since his rookie year James Harden complet his first season with the Clippers after being traded from Philly to La last November he averaged over 16 points per alongside Kawai and Paul George if he leaves the Clippers Harden’s next team would be his fifth in a span of Five Seasons Tyrese Maxi is a restricted free agent coming off the best season of his career with the Sixers average career highs in points and assists named an All-Star for the first time in his career won the most improved player award Demar D rozan has averaged at least 20 points in each of his last 11 seasons TI for the second longest active shriek behind LeBron James last season he finished second in clutch Player of the Year voting behind Steph Curry Bobby marks back with us here to break things down big weekend in the NBA what factors are going into weighing where D rozan goes for free agency yeah Kevin the one player we haven’t really talked about much is DeMar d d rozan 92% of the regular season games he’s played since he’s entered into the NBA and I think you’re certainly looking at re signing possibly with the Chicago balls but here’s the question can Chicago unload the 3year 130 137 million owed to Zack LaVine the rozan is also looking at what happens in Los Angeles with the Clippers and Paul George if George Goes elsewhere possibly in a signing trade that opens up another opportunity to maybe for D rozan to return home D rozan is averaging over 25 points in his Bulls career Michael Jordan is the only other bull to do that let’s stay in the East to Knicks they’ve been very busy this week of course Mel Bridges locking up OG an anobi with a 5-year deal Bridges and anobi are both expected to immediately join the starting lineup alongside Brunson Mitchell Robinson and Julius Randle who will be returning from injury notable free agents include the backup center Isaiah hartenstein and the veteran guard Alec Burks Bobby when you look at the Knicks priorities right now and The Limited cap space What Do You See yeah they’re operating on a strict budget right now they are roughly $9 million below the first uh apron which basically it hard caps them they have four roster spots so what can you get with $9 million I would expect them to see to sign both their second round picks and then fill out their roster with two players signed to the veteran Min minimum exception of course the one player I didn’t mention was Isaiah hartenstein how can hartenstein resigned I think Kevin you would have to look for trade shooters for Mitchell Robinson their starting center if they can move Robinson that gives them an opportunity to bring back hartenstein don’t count out the Knicks front office they’ve been fantastic especially over the last two years this past season hartenstein won of three players with 85 blocks and 85 steals along with Anthony Davis and Victor weany Bobby thank you so much a going fore spe [Music] foree speee spee spee fore spee for for spe fore spee so go fore 1. David Griffin knew Lakers wanted Trae or Murray.
Pelicans trade Lakers 1st rd 2025 pick to Hawks.
Hawks have no incentive to make Lakers better because they have Lakers pick for 2025.
Trae Young trade is officially dead for Lakers from Hawks perspective.
Wicked movements by Pelicans front office specifically David Griffin.

  2. Smh I really hate that Trae Young didn't escape that team.
Local media treats that dude BAD.
They still blame him for not being Luka instead of blaming the hawks front office.

  3. These young black guys are all the same. I have never heard of this zero. The NBA is only fun because the European players are coming over here dominating These lazy entitled uneducated idiots. Hilarious

  4. I won't pay a quarter to watch whoever this guy is. NBA is just a 3 point contest with guys who can't even shoot 40 percent

  5. Ladies and Gentlemen, as at Atlanta native, this is why I am an Atlanta Braves fan. Do not, I repeat DO NOT put any confidence in the Atlanta Hawks. Period. Yall would be better spending a little more in Atlanta Braves tickets and spending a little more on gas driving to Truist Park basketball stadium, for the Atlanta Braves, in Cumberland, Georgia (Cobb County), in Northwest Atlanta metropolitan area, than spend less on Atlanta Hawks tickets downtown in Atlanta at the State Farm Arena.

The Atlanta Braves tickets may be a little more, but compared to the Atlanta Hawks tickets being a little cheaper, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.
