Getting Zach Lavine for pennies on the dollar >>>> Getting Paul George and giving up entire farm
Edit 1: Assuming both are healthy for the entire season would you rather have: A) Zach Lavine + keep Kuminga/Wiggins/picks + potentially get picks from Chicago in the trade or B) Paul George + most likely lose one of Kuminga or Wiggins in the trade + lose Picks
* I feel like in terms of skill level and what they offer, Paul George doesn’t and shouldn’t warrant that many more assets than Zach Lavine
Edit 2: I’m a huge of proponent of the idea of “situation matters” in the NBA. We’ve seen it with our own eyes with Wiggins. The Warriors were able to bring the best out of Wiggins to become the 2nd best player on a championship winning team, something that people never would’ve expected from someone who was labeled as a “selfish scorer” “0 effort defender” “doesn’t play winning basketball”. Some more examples, PJ Washington/Daniel Gafford coming to the Mavs at the trade deadline.

Well, duh. I don’t even know how this Lavine thing became … well, a thing in here. Guaranteeing and keeping CP3 or re-signing Klay for the same amount he made last season (both of which are bad ideas, just to make sure we’re on the same page) would unironically be a better use of money than trading for Lavine.

PG13 and Zach Lavine… most $$$/injury in the NBA
I would take Lavine for free yeah but man can either of them just stay healthy? Whatever actually improves the team. I’m all about it.

He may be motivated by a new scene and winning culture too

I will never understand this sub’s fixation on Lavine.
Again, there is a reason no one wants him.
FeelTheRealBirdie
Maybe take Lavine and use the assets that would’ve been used for PG for Lauri instead
jayguwaap1
They both can score at will, Zach plays better defense than PG though
bfolksdiddy
I think Lavine and Kuzma will be a second or third option if Warriors don’t get PG. Team clearly won’t be as good without PG but Steph still gets a second scoring option and we still get to see if Kuminga develops.
ImperialTiger3
I’m not sure why people here want Lavine. The fact is he does not play winning basketball.

I think going after LaVine is a much better option.
Is PG better? Yes, but doing the LaVine trade keeps our options open for a SF upgrade while still massively upgrading the roster.

I would much rather have Lavine over George. Especially if the cost of what the Warriors have to give up is lower for Lavine.

If the Bulls did like ZL, Ayo, and a FRP for our stuff, I think I’d be totally on board

This is the way

If the Bulls attached a FRP, I would HOPE the Dubs would be all over that!
neo9027581673
The Dubs are not one move away. If you can get Lavine, plus a FRP AND keep all of your assets, you gotta do that deal.
Hop830
Doesn’t surprise me because of his contract.
Nessmuk58
It’s a brutal contract. We have to come up with a full salary match. CP3 is an easy $30M, but it is losing a guy who gave us a lot of good minutes last year. And THEN another $20M.
