“Hey Siri, who is Bronny James Godfather?”

  2. If you’re taking a pay cut just come to the Mavs bruh

  3. CompetitiveLine1938

Maybe it’s just me but if my son was on the same team as me I would do anything in my power to get him a ring

  4. oh shit Windhorst called this exact scenario on the pod yesterday (except he thought it was only in play if DLo opted out)

Bontemps/MacMahon didnt believe Lebron would take the paycut

  5. giannim24

What are the implications of this with DLO opting in? How much of a pay cut would be need to take and how much would we be able to spend?

Dudes gonna take a pay cut so Rob can blow the MLE on the next Harrell/Vincent.

Tbf I think at 40 he’s allowed not take up a full max. Good shit bron

  8. Syndana23

  9. Janetfisher345

Ah, the ol Lebron paycheck chess move. Makes you think what he’d do for Bronny’s sake. Rings trump everything, eh?

Plot twist: Lebron is signing for the LeMLE

  11. Klay could probably get more elsewhere, but damn if he isn’t the exact type of piece this lakers team needs. Would he accepts the MLE? Dont think so.

I understand money is money and the goal is always to get the most possible, but after 15+ years in the league and having Nike be your primary employer already with a billion dollars, I’m a *little* surprised this didn’t happen sooner. Obviously 50 million is 50 million so who am I to judge. I know it’s different leagues but it’s part of the reason why the Patriots stayed dominant for so long, Brady never took the top dollar (hell if I’m remembering correctly even just the regular market value) and it allowed that money to be spent elsewhere.

All this ruckus just to sign Caleb Martin

    Incoming signings:

    Klay Thompson

    Kevin Love

    JJ Reddick (as a player)

They’re currently right at the 1st apron without Christie and Prince. Even if they let them go he would need to take 12m+ pay cut to afford the full MLE. If they want to keep either of them he’d be looking at like a 20m pay cut and both 25-30m. I could see him taking a few million pay cut if a trade hard caps them at the 2nd apron and that allows them to bring back Christie and Prince, but he ain’t taking a huge pay cut.

  16. Naismythology

How much of a pay cut would LeBron have to take to make this work?

  17. KillerZaWarudo

Correct me if im wrong but the Lakers has like 2 frp they can trade right?

An MLE and if they can trade for another good role player and JJ doesn’t has his hands in his pocket every game and actually call timeout Lakers can be an interesting team next season

  18. gbdarknight77

LeBron would have to take a $16 mil per year paycut for the lakers to get the full MLE.

  19. VegansH8Me

Retiring after winning a chip with your son is the way. Take a cut, King.

  20. Ok-Philosopher9070

What if he took the cut and then LA packaged him and Bronny for some picks and a good player? Interesting hypothetical at least

  21. Smok3dSalmon

How old is DeMarcus Cousins or Dwight Howard? Lol

  22. Creepy-Reply-2069

If he wants to win he needs to sign for the minimum. Dude dosent need more money
