@Washington Wizards

[Scotto] The Wizards will decline the $2.42 million team option on center Tristan Vukcevic, league sources told @hoopshype. Washington is prioritizing flexibility ahead of free agency and possible trades. Vukcevic, drafted 42nd in 2023, averaged 8.5 points in 15.3 minutes last season.

  1. Before people panic, Keith Smith (the cap GOAT) has covered this before:

    > My guess:

    > Vukcevic’s buyout factored in here, and that’s why he got part of the NTMLE vs the Wizards using the Second Round Pick Exception.

    > Most likely, Washington will decline the TO for next season, then re-sign Vukcevic using his Non-Bird Rights to a 3- for -4-year deal.

    PLEASE bring him back on a modified deal. Offseason has been decent so far, don’t mess it up by getting rid of a promising young player for nothing.

    No point in drafting him if they going to let him go a year later
