Paul George is declining his $48.8M player option and will enter free agency, per B/R’s @ChrisBHaynes

This pretty much narrows it down to a return to LAC, or a move to PHI or ORL.

We gotta go all in for PG would be a crazy lineup with him at SG

Take your ass somewhere else, you couldnā€™t win with KL and Westbrook. Donā€™t come to Orlando and mess up our team chemistry. ā€œI gotta have the last shot, I gotta take the shotā€ trash ass

Get it done Jeff. This is your moment to shine.

Heā€™s literally the best fit in free agency.. the only thing I wonder about is how him being in a different stage of his career and not having won a championship would affect things in the locker room, especially if we donā€™t necessarily have a huge improvement next season

Please pay this man. If you are going to hand out a big contract this offseason, heā€™s the guy.

Pass imo, build a team not a collection of talent. Still no game managers, still no table setters. Offense will be just as lethargic watching multiple isolations again

This is the best case scenario for the magic. I heard that warriors wanted to trade for him and there was mutual interest. But now since he opted out that really only leave Orlando and Philly. Of course he can still resign with clippers if he wants

Look, if PG wants to play in Orlando I think it would be crazy to not pursue it. But I wouldnā€™t consider it likely and if he doesnā€™t come here, it doesnā€™t mean that our FO is just sitting on their hands.

Can we not have a full blown meltdown if he signs somewhere else? The Dejounte Murray threads were so cringeworthy.

If George wants to come to Orlando, then Iā€™m not going to say no. The man can put the ball in the basket and would take a lot of pressure off of Paolo and Franz, especially when one of them is off the floor. Dude also shot a career high from 3 last season.

So people just forgetting that Paolo specifically asked for someone who can play make for him, which 100% isnā€™t Pg

  11. Everything I read on X says heā€™s going to Philly or back to the Clippers.

Am I the only one who doesn’t want this to happen lol

  13. 76ers, OKC, Spurs, Utah, Detroit or the Magic are the teams with money. It is all going to depend on who wants to pay the most.

Maybe he doesn’t want to go to Detroit or Utah so those might be off the board.

OKC can offer the least but have the best roster. Philly and the Magic can offer the most/same BUT our advantage over Philly is that Daryl Morey is not liked among players in the league.

It probably just comes down to who offers the most money and years.

I like the idea honestly but I don’t think a backcourt of Suggs and PG would do anything to solve our playmaking issues. Of course we could get a point guard through FA as well but I don’t want Suggs off the bench

  15. cosmic_backlash

Best I would give him is 3/90 or 3/100…. He might get a bag somewhere, but I feel like this was a mistake on his part IMO

  16. Donā€™t kill me, but what if they are looking to sign George because they are going to package Franz for Young? Franz and Wendell for Young and then sign Isaiah H?

    Young
    Suggs
    PG
    Paolo
    Isaiah H.
    ???

You know damn well this ainā€™t happening. A neutered cat got more balls than the Magic front office.

  18. legend_of_losing

Chat if you were Paul George, would you sign with warriors or magic? I can see arguments for both sides but what we thinking?

  19. Iā€™ll take back everything I said about Weltman if he manages to get this done

  20. philip_p_donahue

Good fit if he can stay healthy. Doesnt anyone else feel its just slightly risky offering him the kind of contract he’s looking for (4 years) when he’s been so consistently injured, and with Paolo and Franz surely coming into big contracts within the term he’d be with us? I dunno just sort of thinking out loud with this whole take haha. Big and long contracts for older injury prone players sometimes seem to have a way of dragging franchises options down with them.
