The Jazz Need To Draft This Player
the Utah Jazz are currently entertaining the possibility of moving up to the fifth pick and making a deal with the Detroit Pistons in order to get Stefon Castle which I personally am a big proponent of if you are a fan of the channel then you would already be aware of that if you’re not welcome my name is rith Hoops I cover NBA basketball I have a concentration in the Utah Jazz game specifically as of late but I’m covering all things and all teams in the off season with that being said let’s go ahead and figure out what the ins and outs of this draft are going to look like in relation to this situation and break it down in the most concise way possible that being said let’s go ahead and get into this [Music] [Music] one so obviously some people are really high on Stefon castle some people are really low on Stefon Castle I am one of those people that are extremely high on him now the Utah Jazz are allegedly trying to move up to the fifth pick ahead of the Hornets and make a deal with the Pistons because there’s already some positive Rapport as some will remember fono was actually traded from the Utah Jazz at the trade deadline to the Pistons but this is all contingent on Reed Shepard also falling to the Spurs at four because if he doesn’t then Stefon Castle will be a more likely piece for the Spurs to end up selecting because they are in need of a point guard much like the Utah Jazz are the the biggest thing that makes me feel like this is an extremely high possibility of course the Jazz should want to trade up but then you also need somebody that’s going to be willing to allow you to trade up and bag Stefon Castle is because you see a world where we just had Mel Bridges get traded to the New York Knicks and it wasn’t very likely that he was going to end up number one getting traded to Utah to begin with and number two resign with Utah as a result though does that mean Brandon Ingram Julius Randle Zion Williamson Paul George or any of those players on the big game hunting list I don’t think so and there’s not very many people that are going to be superbly available at a ready rate that I’m sure Danny AG is going to be willing to pay as a result that just means that we really missed out on any possible opportunities so the question then becomes do you want to trade l marke in or do you just want to keep him and play him a minute restriction kind of situation for this year and the opportunity for us to have Cooper flag in the next season as the draft comes up for 2025 and then you have a culmination of himself alongside Stefon Castle Taylor Hendricks and konay George or do you go ahead and trade away lry marke in and exchange for you know four draft pick seeing that maal Bridges went for five in a couple of pick swaps and many League executives are considering L marketing to being the same ballpark or Stratosphere as a maau Bridges type of trade either way because I know a lot of people aren’t necessarily sold on Stefon castle and I’m sure that a fair number of people that this video will end up reaching have not seen my previous video where I broke down his skill set I’m going to do him the due diligence of breaking it down just a little bit right here so for those that don’t know was an All-American in high school and he was effectively turned into a role player at Connecticut and Yukon obviously ended up winning again in the national championship game and in this season he put together the scope of 11.1 points 4.7 rebounds 2.9 assists he also had .5 blocks point8 steals he shot 47.2% from the field despite shooting also 26.7% from three-point range so it’s not necessarily all Glitz and glamour but it’s a thing of him being the type of player that you want on your team if you watch tape of Stefon Castle numbers aside he looks like a dog when you think of the All-American players from high school you think somebody that comes in understanding that they’re that guy feeling like they’re that boss they can do what they want to do they’re going to play mostly offense and they’re going to give a little bit of effort on defense here and there but overall if the game doesn’t matter to them they’re just not going to care much about what they need to do for IT Stefon Castle doesn’t look that way on film he looks like he’s taking every game personally his matchups he fights through screens he plays up he plays down he communicates well he’s also 6’6 in 215 lbs which means he’s 6’7 in sneakers and at 25 lbs that’s a pretty stdy frame especially coming into the NBA and the way the league is these days so he puts in the effort and wants to be great on the defensive side of the ball offensively I know he has a talent he does have a little bit of a stiff motion when he’s outside the three-point line inside the three-point Arc it completely disappears and his mid-range looks buttery smooth now from the outside of the arc that’s why he obviously shot that 26.7% and so his mechanics still looking good is what makes me feel comfortable with him being able to grow in that fast set of the game understanding that he also was forced to play at the shooting guard position even though he arily prefers to be a point guard I think that buls well for the Utah Jazz because you have Keon George who played in college as a shooting guard as well but isn’t necessarily the same level of playmaker that Stefon Castle would be so being able to move Keon George to that shooting guard position and having Stefon castle at the point guard position playing the role that he feels most comfortable with and using his honestly Elite for his draft class level playmaking sense it makes me feel a lot better about a lot of things and because the Utah Jazz were struggling defensively this is the type of guy you need somebody that doesn’t feel privileged to be in the position that he’s in he’s going to come in day one work his butt off already has the intangibles but will not rely on his intangibles to be the main thing that allows him to get minutes on the court he’s going to be a dog out the gate and I appreciate that in that same vein though that means that something has to be given in order to move us up to that fifth pick a lot of people I made a video about Walker Kessler potentially getting traded because that’s gaining some level of traffic and for the right price I do think it could happen and in that same vein does that mean that that the Pistons would be willing to trade for Kesler admittedly they have a culmination of young talent that is really impressive to a certain degree but they are still a bad basketball team at the current moment so Walker Kessler I don’t think solves their shooting Wes but he does present them with a defensive big that would allow them to elevate their game to some standard and some degree I think that it would be prudent to trade Walker Kessler and maybe one of the late picks that we have in this draft in exchange for that fifth pick with the Pistons I think that’s very reasonable and I’ve heard a couple people discuss that as a result you could see as I said Lowry marinan also getting traded if that does end up coming to fruition the most likely Suitor being that a lot of teams do not have a tremendous amount of capital is looking like the Thunder because the Thunder will likely end up having the opportunity and this was suggested by Bleacher Report of course so give take it with a grain of salt but also understand that it is a reasonable deal to be had they suggested that the Thunder could send Cas Wallace Lou Dort the number 12 pick in the 2024 draft right here along with the top six protected Philly pick from the 2025 draft to go along with lastly the 2026 first round pick from the Thunder themselves I do think that there could be a mixture of different picks that are potentially offered maybe not necessarily the number 12 pick considering the fact that the trade hasn’t yet happened and the draft day is upon us now but I wouldn’t put anything past Danny Ang in their front office because they’ve been known to do some interesting things that we either do or do not approve of and sometimes it works uh sometimes it doesn’t but for that same reason I think that Stefan castle at five makes for a great move it just comes down to whether or not they’re willing to give up the necessary pieces in order to get the job done and then ultimately what it will cost in order to make the Pistons feel comfortable with doing that deal and then of course as I said before that requires that Reed Sheard also falls to force so that the point guard hungry Spurs don’t end up feeling like they’re pressured into a situ sitation where they have to take Castle when that isn’t necessarily their preferred person either way though I can live with having Rob Dillingham because he is the person that we are currently slated in most mock drafts to take at 10 but I prefer that not to be the case because I love the defensive upside that Stefon Castle has and I believe that in this era of NBA basketball being able to play defense at a high level will end up paying dividends when you get into playoff basketball and when your players are completely matured because yes offense is great but without a substantial defense to help back it up there’s only but so much you can do in the NBA with that being said let me know what you think in the comments below as always I’m interested do you like Stefon Castle do you feel like I did him Justice with this breakdown is there anything that I forgot and otherwise if you don’t prefer Stefon Castle or you don’t think they should trade up who do you want to take at the 10th and subsequently with the later picks in this draft that being said ISS your boy R Hoops go and smash that like button subscribe and turn on post notifications and as always good morning morning good evening and good night no matter where you’re on the globe watching thanks for tuning in and I’ll catch you guys in the next one peace [Music] [Music]

In this video we discuss the opportunity of the Utah Jazz front office to move up from the 10th pick in the draft to the 5th pick in a trade with the Detroit Pistons in order to secure Stephon Castle. Castle is a shooting guard at UConn that could serve as the elusive elite point guard with terrific 2-way ability that the Jazz have been searching for. This may lead to them having to trade away Lauri Markkanen though, which ultimately could be one of the biggest prices to pay.

Thanks for the video!
castle for Kessler and pick? not a fan of such trading up for a guy with 27% from 3, especially i think we'd need to give our 10th pick. lets get topic and keep kessler instead, especially he is great on slicing adter th screen, that jazz uses a lot
If we donāt Make Key to the Castle a thing! Ima be sick!
The 2 bigs go as expected and castle going 3rd!!! Is +4,000… Good luck to you and me….. Bad boys for life š¶āš«ļø
I never saw him play so i cant say much abt his skills on the court.
But this i do know. It not matter that much who they will draft. Jazz not compete before that player rookie contract is over. When it is over, that player leave anyway if he want to compete. Or Ainge trade him for new picks sooner if he is any good. Ainge dont want good players, he want picks.
Id love Kessler and the 29th for the 5th pick.
I can't believe Jazz passed Nikola Topic for 10th pick.
Collier was nice for 29th as someone with high upside.
