How The Brooklyn Nets FINALLY Start The Rebuild…
what is up everybody and welcome back to ler athletes my name is CH like always another interesting video for you here on the channel today is how to start the Brooklyn Nets rebuild w a crazy trade happened yesterday uh I’m uploading this I’m still I’m still in shock from it because it’s still the day of for me um I’m recording this um a day before it gets uploaded what a crazy shock that Mel Bridges is going to the New York Knicks did anyone expect this to happen before the draft or to happen this fast not not me after the Nets said that it would not happen I am in utter disbelief I can’t believe it still but let’s talk about how the Brooklyn Nets can even get to a rebuild cuz it fully is now rebuild time you have nothing on the team it looks like the tanking season is going to be starting for the Brooklyn Nets you have tons of picks with the Knicks you have your own picks now um with the Rockets it’s worth it in my opinion and I I’m excited to see what the Brooklyn Nets uh could potentially be doing so how to start this rebuild how do we start it well I think the first thing is we’re going to have to trade the older players of course that’s an automatic thing for all rebuilds trade the older players players that shouldn’t stay on a young team that doesn’t make sense to have you know a 35-year-old on a team now in some case scenarios it does make sense we’ll talk about that later um but start with that what should you do next find picks or young players that could really work to be decent in two years um when you I say two years the reason why is because I think when you really look at the pick situation um 2025 2026 you have your own pick after that it’s gone again and I think it might be a swap 2027 I think it’s a swap 2027 cuz the um Rockets have their pick this year so at that time you got to have a be decent at least at least a little bit whatever at least a little bit and um I think it does make sense for the Nets to kind of look at a potential scenario of trading up in some things into finding that good young talent in these couple of years I think what we could really see is off of a you know wemi where they tanked for the Spurs tanked for wemi the first year and then got wemi and now um the second year of tanking um could be just you know helping with youth and then that third year is really when we see a huge jump I think that’s the thing that we could really see for this next upcoming year um but it’s going to be interesting how we really see it um fold up so first players that I would trade what are some players I think I would trade when it comes down to this I have three main targets um and you’re going to actually maybe disagree with me but I think you keep Ben Simmons in the situation when you see the new CBA you see the new salary cap rules all this you kind of need it’s better to fill up the cap than to not Ben Simmons is probably one of the best fillers if you really want to keep a young team rather than spending some money on some other people Ben Simmons makes tons of sense I mean $40 million a year that helps a lot and guess what that’s gone by next year so if you want to by next year try to compete or try and do something you can do it because you don’t have Ben Simmons and you don’t need to do it um I think Ben Simmons is a negative trade asset at this point that you’re going to have to add stuff to actually get something and there’s just no point to do it and you’re already taking team it’s a perfect situation for you so let’s get started with these three cam Johnson’s the first one I have seen this trade being thrown around a lot of times and I think it does make sense I think when you really look at it I think the Grizzlies would really like a three and D type of player that’s somebody that could be a shooter on the side someone that has great defensive skills it makes sense for the Grizzlies if they’re in a win now scenario this could be their starting power forward if they believe jiren Jackson Jr is still the center if they want a center this could still be a great piece for them I still think it would work very well and for the Nets you know cam Johnson is worth that ninth pick I will tell you that if you you don’t if you disagree in a weak draft class he is worth that ninth pick what are the Nets giving are getting just two people that can fill the cap space that’s all you really need from this trade the ninth pick is what matters the most and we’ll talk about what that ninth pick can entail uh for later next a Dorian finny Smith trade now Raj R’s there because cap holded stuff and I need to put in a contract so this could work makes no sense but it does whatever Dorian finny Smith had potentially a team offered two first round picks and they said no to Dorian finny Smith for a trade now that probably looks a little stupid um in my opinion just getting a late first is probably a steal for Dorian finny Smith he does have good defensive and three and D type of aspects but it just just doesn’t make sense for him to really be here on this team like you I feel like you would rather want to trade him than not and a you know the 20th pick in the draft that’s fine for the Cavs that’s another Wing that’s a good 3 andd wing and Cavs they’ve wanted Isaac Coro to be that Wing they wanted Dean way to be that Wing Dorian F Smith can have an option of being that good 3 andd Wing makes sense for me um I did originally want um or sorry sorry they originally wanted two first for him but they declined like I said before um so I’m going to see what they do I think this is a good pickup and I think if you’re wanting players now this is a good way to do it now this doesn’t really become a players now in really like honestly um Dennis schroer is a piece I could see getting cut honestly rather than traded maybe no one really wants him since his 13 mil year but I do believe that um a team might be like well I’ll take him because I don’t want another team to have a chance at signing him so he throws like two seconds for him even one second for him I think the 76er could be a prime example of this where if you want a backup point guard or a good decent starting point guard guard that could really maybe not be the your future guard but for a win now team would work well the Suns even if they even had picks think it could work out well and for the Nets round two uh two second rounders would work probably well for the 76ers to have a good you know guy if you don’t get Kyle Lowry back or to have a little backup uh point guard something like that it couldn’t it might not be the Sixers but any team if you get some value out of him get some value out of him and it’ll probably just be like seconds so what are these offseason plans now that you have these so with the ninth pick you have to draft off potential I think when you’re a team and you’re thinking that um by next year we want at least a you know a really good player to be on this team so then we could look for the future I think you’re going to have to go off potential and for me it looks like now there’s a chance that that’s Nicole topic crazy enough but I think Nicole topic would be an excellent addition to the Brooklyn Nets because if you really look at the Brooklyn Nets right now point guard is Den Schroeder and then you have these guards that aren’t really made for playmaking made for whatever Nicole topic will fit that and I think Nicole topic fits well at being that point guard yes he has probably gone for maybe half of the Season full season whatever it might be but at the same time you have to go off potential and Nicole topic talent-wise is probably top four in this draft top three and I would say pick it it makes sense if you’re a taking team you’re supposed to be bad for next year why wouldn’t you pick this it it just makes 100% sense at number 20 at the 20th pick look for a center I think um when you look at Nick claxon for example he’s a free agent I do not expect Nick Clon to come back to a tanking team like this so find a replacement for him get a good Center um I think Kella wear is a great Center that could be a stretch guy that I think does need some time to really develop guess what you got right now you got a lot of time yees Missy is another one that I could really see um they pick cuz that is a Nick claxon type in my opinion has a very similar build to Nick claxon could work out well um and then last but not least start the tank if you are doing all this try to go for that number one overall pick AKA Cooper flag if you get Cooper flag next season the Brooklyn Knights change as a franchise entirely it makes so much sense for Cooper flag to be on the team um I think that of course we’re going to see some more teams really take this season because it makes more sense for the uh star potential of Cooper flag um and this is just the start of it I think we’re going to see potentially some other teams really really hit the Tank Engine um so what would your starting lineup look like Nicole tobic cam Thomas I do not expect to be moved off this team Luke Canard bjan bogdanovich of course from the Nets trade I’d have an asri here because I think there’s a chance that they get cut um or he gets cut we’ll see at Center position I have Dron sharp they really tested with Dron sharp being the center behind after Nick claxon I would actually probably see them uh really doing that again potentially um or they could go with Kell us Missy like I said uh down low um on the bench you have Ben Simmons Noah Clowney I think there’s a chance that with Noah Clowney and same with DQ wead that these are two guys that are really going to get playing time get some really great um time to on the court these are just players that are going to be able to develop their skills and I think that’s what matters the most is when you have players that you know you drafted before take a risk on them and just keep playing them and see what they could really do and I think DQ white has is one of the players that you could really could have a potential big potential in the uh league and then zy Williams the filler 41st pick I was going to pick someone for 41st pick 41st pick but I feel like there’s probably like no one entirely that we really know of right now like 100% so I can’t really say pick this guy with the 41st pick don’t know what they would want ever to so we’ll have to see um but I do think that this is going to be the start of a huge thing for the Brooklyn Nets and a big trade for the
