Is the Celtics’ Playoff Path TOO Easy??

Is the Celtics’ Playoff Path TOO Easy??

so there’s been a lot of talk recently about how the Boston Celtics have the easiest path to the finals in NBA history but one is that actually true and two does it even matter let’s talk about it so looking back through history there have been other teams that have had easy paths to the finals like the 1959 Celtics are a classic example but back then the NBA only had eight teams and six of them made the playoffs so doesn’t really count the 1984 Showtime Lakers might actually be my answer because they Cakewalk through the west and then there are some modern examples too like the 2013 heat if we want to talk about injury luck the 2021 bucks had plenty of that but over the last decade no finals team has had a higher average win margin through two rounds than the Celtics except for the KD Steph Warriors and so where’s the balance between does a team have an easy schedule or are they just good so the question for the Celtics is not being battle tested eventually going to catch up to them because in the case of the 84 Lakers it seems like it did

  1. I am in no way a celtics fan, but i agree with you this is a garbage argument. They tried to do this to the nuggets last season as well, and of course after they won not during there run. You have to be good to win a chip, there's really no argument against that

  2. Didn’t they play 82 games before the playoffs? Didn’t they win the most games this season? Didn’t they win the East and Home court because they were beating teams from the west and the east all season?

  3. Has everyone forgot that the Celtics have injuries as well? KP has been injured all playoffs and a 38 y/o Al Horford is our starting center… This is Brad Stevens proving he's one of the best in the game at building rosters and Joe Mazzula being a great defensive coach.

  4. The 80's Lakers should top the list. The West during that decade is probably worse than the East in this era

  5. I love how the point of the regular season is to make your playoff path objectively easier and now people are complaining about how easy the path is like THAT'S THE FUCKING POINT

  6. Mavericks faced two out of three teams that don't have much playoff which was the Thunder and the Timberwolves. Plus played the Clippers without Kawhi. So they kindoff also had an easy path to the Finals.

  7. 1) Yes, arguably easiest path ever
2,) No, doesn't matter. This is why you play for top seed. Plus missing out on star Porzingus and only losing two games in playoff run is stellar (no matter who you're opponents are)

Only team that I feared them playing were the Nuggets. Wolves would've been close, especially w/o Porzingus
