waiting for tomorrow 600 p.m. eastern time that is when free agency will open Sixers have a lot of decisions to make but in the meantime the number one Domino aka the Paul George situation is the one factor that could change everything that is the thing that the rest of the Sixers free agency hinges on and we finally got a decision I was just on Bleacher Report like an hour ago saying look I’m waiting on this W bomb that’ll tell us everything we need to know and Paul George had until 5:00 p.m. Eastern today to either accept or decline his $ 48.7 million player option so breaking news ladies and gentlemen as it just came out per W Clipper star Paul GE is declining his $ 48.7 million player option an entering free agency he is planning to set meetings with cap space teams and the Clippers beginning on Sunday night an opin trade scenario is now gone so what we heard from Brian windhorse before in terms of this being a three- team Race right the Sixers the Clippers the Warriors The Warriors are now out of it right there’s only a certain amount of cap space teams that could sign Paul George and if we’re being realistic there’s only a couple cap space teams that could sign Paul George who actually can win right now right you can talk about the magic maybe they’re on the come up you know the Pistons he’s not going there etc etc really what this means ladies and gentlemen is it is now a two- team Race it is either he returns to the Clippers on a 4-year 221 million Max contract or he signs with the Philadelphia 76ers on a 4-year $212 million deal if he goes anywhere else I’d be surprised now again on his podcast he did say he just wants to play the right style of ball we know what happened on TV during the finals with Joel embiid Paul George now it gets interesting and I literally just got this notification so I’m actually going to see here if there’s a follow-up report about Paul George because usually they’ll drop some reports here and again we’re doing this in real time but usually there will be some additional reports that come out like oh he is planning to do this or that let’s see is there anything here no trade talks between Warriors and Clippers George will seek immediate free agent opportunity specifically the Philadelphia 76ers look man I think it’s happening and I said this before right the Sixers didn’t resign any of their own free agents they have the most pending free agents they did not resign any of them they also have not made any trades made any moves but like Kyle nuck said earlier today on Twitter there hasn’t been a sense of Panic with this team right and maybe it’s because they know and they’ve already talked behind the scenes that you know Paul George has interest in coming here now they have to work out the financials but we knew this whole time right Daryl muray is locked in on Paul George he’s locked in on PG-13 the question is does PG want to pack up his stuff come all the way across the country and start new with Tyrese Maxi and Joel andb does he want to win does that give him the best chance of winning or does he want to go back to l where his family sits Courtside during games and stay with James Harden and stay with kawi Leonard and try to keep running that back in La it gets very interesting now also I just saw this as I was getting ready to upload the video so just wanted to throw it in there but it is confirmed according to Chris Haynes that the Sixers are going to start pursuing Paul George tomorrow evening uh I feel like they’ve probably already had a little discussion or maybe you know Joel and be has talked to him but officially the Sixers are in on pursuing him and I’m sure they’ll set up meetings Etc but now the Paul George Domino affects everything but I will say if you miss on PG you got to have a good contingency plan we’ll see what happens I really feel like the Sixers are going to be all in on Paul George but let’s say they swing and Miss maybe he doesn’t want to come here and he goes back to LA what are the options after that as I said yesterday I think they’re going to try to Pivot to Brandon Ingram or there could be another X Factor involved here because this came out this morning from W the Jazz are apparently open to listening to trade offers on lri marinin point number one says Utah was in on Mel Bridges and now teams are going to wonder if they will be sellers Utah would like to keep Marketing in a perfect world but teams are preparing aggressive offers and we know dealing with Danny a is not the easiest thing we also know that it’s going to take a king’s Ransom but again sometimes you have to take the risk and if it’s up to me and it was down to giving up a couple picks in 2030 and 2030 one screw that I’m going all in I’m getting lri Markin and this is the first time we heard especially from a guy like w that he could be on the table and if it is possible I know people keep saying to me all day well OKC can outbid Philly they have more young players Etc I get that right there were other teams that could outbid the Nets you know what they did they made an offer that you couldn’t refuse and when that happens sometimes the team pulls the trigger so if the Sixers can make an offer that the Jazz can’t refuse you don’t know what’s going to happen but right now it feels like the hierarchy is Paul George and then number two is probably Brandon Ingram and the rest is maybe there’s a wild card scenario like Jimmy Butler doesn’t agree to an extension or lri marinan is on the table etc etc it would take a great great deal to pry marketing out of Utah and that makes perfect sense but if the Sixers want to go above and beyond go over the top sometimes you have to take a risk obviously the bar has been set high with some of these other trades but the jante Murray was traded yesterday two picks and two players I thought he would go for more so I don’t know man but things are getting spicy it is now a two- team race between the Clippers and the 76ers who’s going to get Paul George Let’s see if there’s any follow-up reports but at the end of the day man it’s right here what do we think can Paul George help get this team over the top the only thing I would caution about with signing Paul George like I said before is one giving him fouryear Max because you know that kind of handicap you going forward and now it’s hard to build around three stars right if you sign PG say 50 million per year then you know you’re only going to have about 10 to 1213 million in cap space it’s going to be tough to bring other players in and I know everybody says well we need a third guy in case Joel &b goes down and gets injured Etc why would respond to that by saying what if Joel EMB doesn’t go down but what if Paul George Goes Down right and then you have no other way to improve this team if you have three stars and you load all your money into those guys and surround them with like minimums and guys like that well if one of them goes down for the season then pretty much you’re screwed and and we saw that not exactly but we saw it similarly with the Suns how they’re trying to follow that three star method and it just it’s tough it’s tough I’m not saying it can’t work but it gets harder to build the roster but you also have to look at the opportunity costs the alternative options and we heard D Moore he said it loud and clear in his exit pressor there is a better probability to win when you have a third star that is their methodology that’s what he believes and they’re going all in for Paul George so
