[Mazur] Multiple people within the organization have told me that they believe DJJ is a done deal so they don’t feel obligated to start free agency with him anymore. There is a mutual sense of loyalty between camps after this season’s success. Jones has made it known he wants to stay.

Maxi and Josh I hope you like San Francisco 🙏

I don’t think it’s ever a done deal with klutch involved. All I know if he doesn’t sign with us, he better not go to the lakers for less than we offer him.

Don’t know how legit this guy is, but Nico said he is priority 1A and 1B. DJJ when he 1st got here said he had been wanting to be here for a while. Then when asked a few weeks ago about re-signing, he said he wants to be here. Unless things changed quickly, I have no reason to believe he wasn’t sincere in saying that. Anything to do with Klay will not affect the MLE.

Famous last words? Let’s hope it’s real, though — one would think this implies that they had already reached an agreement on a ballpark number.

  5. Prob means a Grant acquisition is dead in the water at this point.

Maaaan I really don’t want our big FA move to be 34 y/o post ACL/Achilles tear Klay

There was an interesting technical note in [Fischer’s](https://sports.yahoo.com/how-paul-george-remains-the-key-to-the-free-agent-market-164152629.html) article today:

    >All this tinkering [dumping THJ] originally had that backdrop of trying to reward Jones off his minimum-salary contract of 2023-24, but that will now feature some complications after the bouncy wing terminated his previous representation on June 26. By letter of the players’ union, ***Jones technically cannot sign with a new agent until 15 days after filing the paperwork to make a change in agency — which won’t be until after the NBA’s moratorium period is long over.*** It’s a developing situation worth monitoring.

That seems consistent with there being some sort of an agreement in place already. Most of the cap space (and larger exceptions) around the league will already be spent by then.

I need this to be real please, basketball gods

Is the pen to the paper? Then it’s not a done deal. Has mavs media learned nothing over the years

Love to read this, but doesn’t really mean much until they put pen to paper 🤷🏻‍♂️ mffls remember deandre 2015

I don’t know, he didn’t turn into prime Kawhi during the finals like I demanded.

Nice! This seals our offseason. Djj coming back on mle and s&t for klay as a 15ppg 6th man for green (seamlessly replaced by grimes) and maxi (our biggest loss lol). Add to that the 2nd year jump for lively and maybe a little bit of playability from omax. This team should be aiming for 57-60 wins and a top 3 seed next season

Mavs have NEVER counted their chickens before …

Hope this goes their way, if it’s even true.

This tweet has the potential to age poorly very quickly.

  15. Since he’s been our free agent, we’ve been allowed to negotiate with him this entire week and both sides should be fairly happy with where things are at, one way or another.

Essentially, it just means we’re not going to be speed dialing his number at midnight and instead will focus on fighting for Klay or whoever else

  16. Really though DJJ is a great dude, but i dont think we can get to next level if hes our starter. I think this is his ceiling at 27. He exceed all expectations by being a starter.
