🚨 BREAKING: Bulls Draft Matas Buzelis With Pick #11 In 2024 NBA Draft | Reaction & Scouting Report

[Music] what’s going on guys welcome into the Bulls report my name is Patrick seatman breaking down the number 11 pick for the Chicago Bulls in the 2024 NBA draft as it is Matas buellis actually from Chicago Illinois played his high school hoops at Hinsdale Central and then he didn’t or he didn’t decide or he decided not to go play college hoops and he took his talents to the e League ignite and what a shocker of an NBA draft this has been so far you know as watching the you know draft play out live here you know we saw him Cody Williams Dalton connect just continue the fall and I was okay with either of those three being the pick for the Chicago Bulls but you know a little more on him he is one of the most versatile defenders in this class with length to take on even centers he is you know 6’8 6’9 197 lbs does have a super slim frame so he’s going to need to fill that out um but I think just being in the league and just getting the weight training program that the Bulls have he will be able to do so but he is from Chicago Illinois so you keep him you know in the state he grew up in and you know I really like this pick I think it’s a great move for the Bulls um I think this guy has a ton of upside and you know what the Bulls front office didn’t mess this up like you had two good choices in Connect and buellis and I think this is an indication of where the Bulls are heading I think the youth movement is here in Chicago I think you had the choice of connect and buellis connect being the older more ready to you know play Prospect and they decided to go on the chance they decided to go on the guy with the most Boomer bust potential here and it’s Matas bua says you know the more as I you know watched on this guy throughout my pre-draft process the more I fell in love with them and I think this is a great pick for Chicago you know you needed another wing on the outside and you know it just kind of you know this youth movement of you know now you got giddy IO Kobe white Patrick Williams Matas it’s just the next move right now is obviously going to be trading LaVine hopefully you sign and trade to Rosen maybe you move off V but man the fact that buellis was able to follow to you all the way to pick 11 I mean we were getting reports that the Bulls were planning on trading up for him they didn’t even need to do so they were able to get him at pick 11 I just think it was a great move for Chicago but more on him coming up in just a second but I want you guys to grade the pick for me down below in the comment section give me an A B C D or F you know what I think this is a great move if I had to give a grade I’d give it an a um you know obviously you’re not going to get a home run pick at pick 11 by any means like it’s not you know I’m not saying balis is going to be the needle mover that fixes this blls franchise but right now you got a guy who’s got tons of tons of potential and that’s the word with balis is potential and you know taking a look at his numbers from the g-league ignite this past season was able to put up 14 points a game average seven rebounds 2.1 blocks a game which is fantastic and he uh was able to shoot the ball wasn’t the most efficient at only 44 and a half% but uh you know what I’ll tell you what he shot the ball at I think it was like 27% from downtown this past season but I like his jump shot um he’s got a really valid release Point as they’re showing him being drafted by the bullers right now on live TV he’s got tears in his eyes I mean he was a bulls fan growing up so you know I absolutely I absolutely love the move you know super great at you know attacking Closeouts he was a two-time Gatorade player of the year um as well in high school so I think he’s a big time player and actually Kevin OK coner wrote this up about him saying he’s a versal offensive player who can be used in any scheme because of his high feel as a passer boost upside as a shooter he’s fluid dribbling into a step back from both the mid-range and three and he loves utilizing shimmies and ball fakes to create space from the mid-range and what I’m watching his uh game know I was looking into his tape this past season like the thing I love about him the most is he plays at his own pace he’s super under control and especially when you’re watching a lot of these g-league ignite players it is in an aaou brand of basketball where it’s this up and down pace and you know know it may be hard to you know control the pace but Matas has shown an ability to do so and you know I also love his versatility I think he can play multiple positions and his jump shot like the thing I love also the most he’s got the super high release point at the top of his jumper it’s the same flick of the wrist every single time so even though he wasn’t a you know efficient shooter this past season I think he’s going to be able to develop that or develop that and if he can do that think be you know looking at one of the best players in this year’s draft and you know we talked about this draft as a whole you know heading into it we were saying like you know there’s no real star star in this draft well I think Matas has a chance of be an Allstar and you know he’s got that type of upside he’s got that type of athleticism and plus I just love the fact that he is playing for his hometown team the Chicago Bulls but if you guys want more around the Bulls this offseason as you know I’m assuming a Zack ofen trade or a Nico vuich trade is going to come here in the coming days but make sure you guys are subscribed to the channel help us reach 72,000 Subs I would really really appreciate it as they’re showing buellis he’s got tears in his eyes you know watching the Bulls make the pick and you know that’s just stuff you love to see clearly he has you know he was a bulls fan growing up now he’s going to be able to play for his whole uh Hometown team um you know what position will he play he’s going to be you know probably a forward like that 34 um so I think that fits you know one of the team needs like the Bulls need needed to get younger and they needed a you know they needed more athletic wings and that’s what he is and you know they keep showing him tearing up uh during his interview right now and I’m getting chills just watching it um he can barely talk he was just saying thanks to the Bulls organization and you know I think that was just a fantastic fantastic move I’m getting chills just watching them right now but you know the Bulls they’ve been struggling the past couple of years have not made it past the first round of the playoffs since 20145 so you know they’ve you know it’s been a while since they’ve been at you know the top of the mountain but hopefully with this pick you know right here it helps them just inch their way closer to you know getting to you know that you know hopefully getting to the second round over the Eastern Conference you know finals and you know overall just wrapping up my thoughts here on Matas it’s like you know he was a guy I think I have a scouting report in there maybe of what’s five um you know his Pro Comp I had for him uh with France Vagner and that’s like a you know it’s a ceiling comparison but I think he could you know somehow get there um you know more on him uh we’ll hit up the ringer real quick you know he’s got a little Lamar odm but he’s a connective playmaker he’s got really good size shooting and the ability to play anywhere on the floor you know some of the positives about him he’s a versatile offensive player using any scheme um he’s got super soft touch um and you know he’s a Savvy player who can move you know super well without the ball um he plays within the you know the offense a lot like you know watch a lot of these G league players like a lot of them is just you know trying to get theirs buellis was on the other side of it like he was just playing within the team um and you know some of the you know Pros about him like it’s athleticism you go throw on his tape it’s him dunking on people you know super super freak athlete long Wing plays at his own pace which we kind of touched on which I absolutely love um some of the minuses of him though who is he really as a shooter because he was a freaky shooter until his final year of high school but then his final year of high school he actually hit 43.1% of his threes um and he’s a little loose with his handle caused him to you know have a negative assist to turnover ratio um just because he got stripped a lot especially on his dribble move so you know even if he’s not a primary playmaker who runs a heavy dose of pick and rolls he needs to improve his handle you know no doubt about it if he wants to truly you know reach his max potential as a player but he’s a subpar Defender containing dribble penet he gets ba off the dribble a lot and he isn’t that switchable against quicker players and he’s got a hard time fighting through uh through screens which I think can speak to a slim frame but you know if you give him a couple years you let him develop like I think this could be a pick where we’re looking back on and we’re like man that is really you know that’s a really good move for the Chicago Bulls I just can’t believe he fell to him at pick 11 like we saw the draft you know start shaking out like you had Castle go to the Spurs at four then you had the Shocker of the draft in my opin opinion and Ron Howen going to the Pistons at five Saloon to the Hornets at six and then we were getting reports that you know potentially the Grizzlies wanted to trade up two pick six and draft Donovan clinging that didn’t end up working out quing ended up going to pick seven to the Portland Trailblazers and then also a huge Shocker the Minnesota Timberwolves traded up to pick eight to draft Rob Dillingham as that was a move I did not have on my bingo card but then another shocker Zack Edy heading to the Memphis Grizzlies and then you know I was fine with Cody Williams Matas or Dalton connect and they obviously ended up choosing buellis and I think that was a you know I think it was the right pick for the Chicago Bulls um I think he was the steal of the draft honestly in my opinion like he fell you know we’ll find out that reason you know in the coming days but you know I think that was a I think that was a great pick and just seeing him tear up sees of you know shows to the passion he plays with and you know it’s awesome he’s going to be playing for his home team so I just uh I love The Pick of boal but make sure
