Jeff Van Gundy played an important role in the Celtics title run ๐Ÿ‘

there’s one person they got a ring with the Celtics this season that would surprise 95% of NBA fans Jeff Van Gundy that’s right the former ESPN commentator got his first NBA championship after Boston won the title last night last October JVG was let go by ESPN after 16 years of calling games with Mike Breen and Mark Jackson and then things began to spiral in his personal life he revealed his best friend died of cancer on the markc Jackson show and his sister-in-law tragically took her own life he admitted he was in an awkward place in his life and he wasn’t sure what his purpose was but things turned around when he was offered a job is a senior consultant with the Celtics by Brad Stevens stev said that Van Gundy was an important part of the Celtics season attending every practice and shoot around and Van Gundy said that this was one of the most rejuvenating things he’s ever gone through and felt Stevens and Joe maula threw him a lifeline and now Jeff Van Gundy has his first ring but it gets even better because now Van Gundy just got hired on tyoo staff with the Clippers as the lead assistant for next season it’s a fitting ending for someone who’s been a major voice for so many NBA fans over the years

Jeff Van Gundy is an NBA champion for the first time of his basketball career.

  1. Porzingis to me, played one of the most important roles. Last year Bam destroyed us. This year he could not do much because Porzingis was contesting him in every shot. Doing good against Bam. It made Miamiโ€™s team be less confident they could win. thatโ€™s why we got Porzingis so we could have someone to slow bam down

  2. Iโ€™m so happy the Celtics gave him a job. ESPN can suck a ๐Ÿ† for how they let him go. Only reason they did was because he would constantly call out the bullshit of the NBA during games

  3. As a C's fan I'm so glad we were able to help JVG, he's been very underrated for a long time and I'm glad he came along on this ride with us. I hope he enjoys himself in LA and I'm beyond bummed he's leaving

  4. I had no idea about this, thanks for telling us and I'm so glad for Jeffโ—
I've met him on few occasions many years ago, he's really cool.

  5. Glad he could find something that could heal and build on his life to help him move forward and live. Esprcially, because the mind does have priority over matter, it's what instructs the body to keep functioning properly.
