Do you guys except us to make anymore moves or was the Murray trade the big one?

I actually like the roster Atlanta has put together, but oweing the Spurs our next 3 First makes me a little more concerned about it. Feel like we need someone next to Trae. Do you guys think we do something or was that it?

  1. Didn’t a three-team trade get announced a little while ago today?

Edit: Never mind. It was a proposal.

  2. There’s really nothing we can do. Our biggest glaring weakness is our Center position. Capela can’t guard the perimeter and when he’s like 3 ft from the basket, he can’t recover.

Centers don’t grow on trees. Unless ZR turns all pro this year, we won’t be better than Celtics, knicks, pacers, cavs, 76ers, bucks, and magic. There’s a chance we MIGHT be better than the Cav’s and Magic but at best we will be the 6th seed.

That means, most likely, Trae will ask for a trade at the end of the season. To me, Sarr was our best chance to become better….

Do something? Like what will make us better enough to make the playoffs this year?

  3. I think we have one big one after DJ and some minor signings but that’s the fortune teller in me.

That was probably the big move. Don’t think it’s the last one though.

Clint is not good enough to take us to the next level but let’s not act like he’s mfing Alex Len or some shit. He’ll still throw down lobs and guard dominant bigs like Embiid and Jokic.

  6. They’re almost certain to do something with the centers. Even if it’s trading Nance instead of Capela

    Vit Krejci contract

and fingers fuckin crossed they clear out some space from the aforementioned Center trade to actually use the goddamn MLE this year lol

I know it gets the headlines, but most teams are sitting out the primary FA market unless they have one of their own in there. Isn’t just us.

I do expect us to be active in the secondary market though whenever that comes through.

I’d be shocked if we made a *big* move (ie something that’ll get traction outside of Atlanta), but there’s still work to do on the roster:

    * Vit contract: Given how Landry has publicly talked about him being a part of the team, I’d be shocked if he doesn’t end up with a roster spot
    * Center situation: We have Okongwu, Capela, and Nance under contract plus a team option on Bruno ~~some time in July~~ July 10th. I’d be stunned if all 4 are on the roster, with Capela and Nance being the most likely to be moved. We can’t really use the MLE until one of the three are moved, so any free agency moves are dependent on this.
    * Hunter: Wouldn’t be surprised if he was moved given how much smoke there’s been around him, but you really can’t have too much wing/forward depth.
    * Back-up PG: Does the team trust Kobe as the full time back-up PG, or do they want to sign a vet to give them some insurance?

  9. One of the centers is 100% gone. If I was to give percent chance on each of them being on the roster next year I’d say OO has a 80% chance CC has a 35% chance and Nance has a 50/50 shot. These are completely arbitrary values I made up but they feel right based off everything we know and have heard. If we do move off Capela and don’t get matching salary back I expect at least one but hopefully two free agent signings. I could also see us packaging Capela/hunter and the trade exemption to go after a bigger name but that’s doubtful to me. But yeah one of the centers is 100% gone just don’t know who yet and after that I see another minor move in Free agency

I think we trade a center and possibly Hunter as well. We’re over the cap at the moment. The FO will def do something about that.

  11. No_Internal404

Yes but we have to clear cap first .. expect capela dre or bogi (plz no) to be moved before anything

  12. MiserableSoft2344

Maybe a Bey sign and trade or a Hunter dump. Think Capela’s probably coming back off the bench and be dealt at the deadline.

Worth noting that the Pelicans may need to add a 4th player to the Murray deal for salary matching purposes especially if they want to avoid the luxury tax. That could obviate more moves by the ATL front office.
