Phoenix Suns Sign Mason Plumlee To A 1-Year, $3.3M Deal
first off my girlfriend’s favorite basketball player is Mason plumbley so as soon as I saw this I had to send it to her either way ironically enough all offseason I’ve literally said hey if you’re not going to get rid of ysf nurkic go ahead and get Mason Plumley and maybe another Center they went out and got in the draft Oso uaro who could be the trace Jackson Davis of this draft class A guy who can play the five and four has some really good rebounding chops can score inside and is a really good passer maybe down the road he could extend the range but he’s a good third string big man now the second string big man is Mason plumbley who’s actually been a guy who’s like started for most of his career and then over the last several years he’s been a b a elite backup big man for contenders I mean when he was with the Hornets before he got traded to the Clippers last year not this past season but the before that he was having a career season putting up like a double double and showing off those passing chops but he went to the Clippers and spent like 18 months there and he’s a guy that I think if we look at it this past year he put up 15 minutes a night Five Points five rebounds one and a half assist just under a steel and block a game and the year before that he put 20 minutes a night so I think something between that range him being a guy is going to give you 6.6 rebounds really efficient minutes when he comes in he’s going to score score you know High 50% in terms of like his field goal percentage so he just fits really well with this team and if if they were able to move off of Yosef nage I don’t think they they are because what who are you going to trade him for there isn’t really a big out there that’s an upgrade from Yos nage obviously you want the the Suns would love to have a defensive big but our assumption is you bring in Mason plumbley you have you have Oso yoro and Yos nage hopefully that rotation can be suitable enough cuz what you’re realizing is they have three really good rebounders and I know Rim protection is something that this team has struggled with and I there isn’t really a big man out there that’s going to give you Rim protection you’re going to have to trade for one and all the bigs that you would want to trade for it’s just hard to see a team wanting to trade back or you know to take on yosu to be incentivized to take yosu nurkic’s contract so you have you’re hoping that the combination of Mason and nage Yosef nage and Mason plumbley and then a little bit of Oso igaro in there would be enough because you think yoseph is going to play 30 minutes a night 18 for Mason and yeah so I don’t know I want to hear your guys’ thoughts I think it’s fine
