Breaking Down BLOCKBUSTER Dejounte Murray Trade To New Orleans Pelicans! Dyson Daniels To ATL!

the NBA off season is in full swing and we have another blockbuster trade to talk about as dejonte Murray has been moved to the New Orleans Pelicans in return for Larry n Dyson Daniels a 2025 first round pick and a 2027 first round pick now this is just a crazy trade at first when you saw the notification dejonte Murray was going from the Hawks to the Pelicans you’d assume maybe Brandon Ingram would be involved in this type of deal because he’s been all over these trade rumors this off season but they’re taking Atlanta Hawks team that is clearly in the rebuild and building for the future and they’re just able to give up some draft Capital obviously Larry Nance and Dyson Daniels two solid rotation pieces but when you’re talking about getting a point guard for now and the future for the Pelicans this is a no-brainer move if they want to go in and help their chances of winning this year I’m going to get to the Pelicans side in the second but for the Atlanta Hawks they just had the number one overall pick they got Zachary race there they had D Johnson on the roster who they already considered an Untouchable asset and then they have Deonte Murray and Trey young as possible trade assets they’re going to trade dejonte Murray get a couple first round picks and a couple rotational players Dyson Daniels he could actually be a building block for the future as well and then as far as those first round picks the one next year 2025 is actually going to be the Lakers pick from the Anthony Davis trade back in the day and then the 2027 pick is going to be the least favorable whether whether that’s the Pelicans pick or the Milwaukee first round pick that the Pelicans have access to but now for the Pelicans side this is where things get very interesting because like I mentioned Brandon Ingram has been the one that’s all in the trade rumors this offseason their GM was saying we’ve seen how things have played out enough with this roster it’s time to make some big changes and that’s what they did they got a point guard they were long linked to a point guard whether it was Darius Garland Trey young or Deonte Murray and they end up with Deonte Murray as they’re going to have a really nice course do jonte Murray CJ McCollum Zion Williamson Brandon Ingram if they bring him back those are four guys that can all get you a bucket and the Pelicans were a team last year going down the stretch that looked like no one would want to face them in the playoffs they went through the plan but the only problem was Zion got injured so their season ended in the first round at the hands of OKC at that point so now the question is are they going to take Deon Murray and just try to add them to that team of last year or are they still going to try to trade Brandon Ingram because they add Deon Murray and then trade Ingram on top of it then that could change the team dramatically Deonte Murray does have some similarities as Ingram they both thrive in the mid-range for sure and you can definitely get some good value for Ingram whether it’s a team like the Houston Rockets or or whoever you’re trading it for and although this Pelicans team just looks so loaded so is the Western Conference as a whole because you have the eight teams that made the playoffs and then outside the teams that made the playoffs last year you you have the Golden State Warriors who could be acquiring Paul George you have the Sacramento Kings who were the three seed the previous year and then outside even that range the Memphis Grizzlies were the two seed the year before they should be back in full swing the San Antonio Spurs have won the future faces the NBA and Victor wanyama he’s only going to be getting better the Houston Rockets are trying to make trades for stars to the Western Conference is just ridiculous they’re going to be teams that think they could legitimately make a run that don’t even make the playoffs they might not even make the play in tournament so the Pelicans they’re just bolstering their chances in the tough Western Conference Health has been the knock on them and what’s held them back in previous years but now they’re adding dejonte Murray to a team that could be very electric it’s interesting to see what’s next for New Orleans
