BREAKING NEWS | Chicago Bulls Sign Jalen Smith 3 Years $27M | How Will He Impact The Bulls ?
the Chicago Bulls have made a signing they signed Jaylen Smith to a three-year $27 million deal how will this affect the team moving forward and is this a good signing let’s talk about all that more on today’s episode of the windy city Breeze Sports Talk daily let’s go [Music] now if you are new to the Channel please hit that like button please subscribe to the page we do talk Chicago Sports Daily on this channel it’s the only Channel talk Chicago Sports how Chicago talk to make sure that you get in tune with us man so the Chicago Bears go out and make a signing that I am in favor of I think this is a good signing a name that the second he was let go from Indiana I was like let’s do it right like that’s a name that I would love to get in the building and that name is Jaylen Smith per Adrien walowski he was signed to a three-year $27 million contract with Chicago Bulls sources tell ESPN Smith’s agent at clutch Sports reached a deal with the bulls front office overnight so this was done late last night probably which I’m glad they didn’t release the details on this until the morning I’m tired of waking up middle of the night and doing videos on the Chicago Bulls and and all these things that they’re I’m I’m sick of it 2 a.m. we’re doing videos they they do this to me every year but still uh this is a good get for the Chicago Bulls in my opinion though you go out and you add somebody who’s got some size who who brings a little bit of option at the power forward or the center position he’s 610 215 lbs we’re going away from that small ball mindset right we’re actually getting big guys in here that can actually move the floor and run with the ball and be able to be efficient and all of those things I think that this is a good get for the Chicago Bulls because one when you talk about a guy who in his time has had a very up and down career in Indiana right gets the Indiana the first year uh he was traded midseason from Phoenix get the Indiana that first year they’re playing him 24 minutes a game and I thought the kid played phenomenal in his first real time as an as a starting or or he was still kind of back and forth but for the most part off of the bench but getting some more tick right 24 minutes a game in that time 13.4 points uh one block a game which you love to see that uh was also able to rebound the ball uh 7.6 rebounds per game and then shoted at a 53% clip and 37% from the three-point line while taking the most threes of his career so when he was given the opportunity and it was only 22 games in Indiana this was not a lot right this was him being traded from Phoenix to Indiana it was not a ton but in his limited moments in the NBA you saw him when he got his most tick be the best version of himself and you know what I understand why Indiana let him go cuz I know that’s the one thing a lot of L of people are going to think well if he’s if he was that good as a as a young player why Indiana let him go well you got better players over there in right you got a guy like Pascal seaka in last season uh you already had Miles Turner there you you they’ve got some bigs on that team that make a lot of sense for that team and so that’s why to me you saw them let him go right and and I think that you saw the reason why you looked at Jaylen Smith as a guy like listen is he going to be here like how is his role fit he probably saw more for himself they probably realized that we’re not going to give him the opportunity that he sees more for boom here we go everybody be all Kon by ey about it and we’re going to move on he now signs with the Chicago Bulls for a three-year deal and coming off of last season his numbers last season percentage wise was some of the best of his career his minutes were yet again back down to 17 minutes a game though right not a ton of time on the floor still able to make an impact though which is something that you love to see nine points per game last season shot at 69% from the free throw line which is actually his lowest of his career 42 2% from three on 2.4 three-pointers he was knocking down basically won a game and 59% from the field overall so Jaylen Smith a guy who can go out there be incredibly efficient can run the floor can be able to play give you some defense as well now the defensive rating last season was not phenomenal 116.2 so need to see that improve but I think like I said with more time with him actually being a part of a real rotation and let’s be real I can’t take anybody’s defensive rating on Indiana seriously because they all sucked the defense last season for most of the Season till the end of the year but I just I I look at Jaylen Smith as a guy who the the positives outweigh the negatives to me and I think that this is a really good signing by the Bulls I’m actually excited to see Acme go out and make this signing because the other thing on top of it is it’s still a commitment to the youth movement we’ll talk about some that some more as well but let me know how you guys feel about the signing in the comments below do you think this is a good signing for the Chicago Bulls do you think that the Bulls made the right decision here I’ll be down there talk with you guys as well make sure that you guys hit that like button subscribe to the page leave that festar review y’all know what to do uh here’s why I love this as far as a commitment to the youth movement right I think this is a good get for the Chicago Bulls because we haven’t seen him play a ton of minutes now he’s played a ton of bench minutes played a ton of roll minutes right but we haven’t seen him play a ton of minutes and to me at 24 years old the sky is still the limit for this young man now biggest concern with Jaylen Smith that there has been is haven’t seen him play a full season just yet he has kind of gotten close he’s he’s met our threshold once right me and Hayes always say 65 games you basically played a full season in the modern day of the NBA right like if you’re able to knock down 65 games have at it right have have a great year you had a phenomenal year because guys are sitting left and right even though we saw that die down a little bit last season and maybe that will continue moving forward I actually hope it does continue moving forward but when you look at this right like 68 games games uh two years ago 61 games last year he started half of the games two years ago and so his numbers took a little bit of an uptick um but in his time in the season that he was traded from Phoenix to Indiana 51 games overall right so to me I think that this was a guy that you may have a little bit of concern with injury-wise a lot of those injuries did take place mid-season he was able to return to finish out the season and things like that so I’m not as worried about the injury numbers especially when I see 61 and 68 games like I said like you had a for the modern NBA you were able to be out there for most of the season right as long as you’re able to finish the season shout out to you um but I think here’s my biggest thing when you look at a young man like Jaylen Smith you saw the numbers uptick you saw the role that he can play on a team when he actually gets the opportunity to do that and in Indiana there were just too many play you’re not starting him ahead of Miles Turner right now you’re not starting him ahead of Pascal kakum so there wasn’t that opportunity for him to do that so you also look at okay moving forward now with the bulls what is his role going to be is he here to take Patrick Williams job let me stop you there no he’s not taking P Will’s job like we we already knew what the conversation was around P will the second he got signed to a $90 million deal he’s going to be there right but I think on a three-year deal with this kind of value $27 million over three with that kind of value right like you’re talking about possibly getting a young starting power forward starting center type of player or somebody who can work working off of the bench to me if you end up moving niik lavich in that deal that people are trying to get done with that the Chicago Bulls are trying to get done trying to move on from him um if you actually are able to get that deal done I think you could see the Chicago Bulls be able to go out there and put jayen Smith in as that starting center and feel confident about what he brings to the team how he’s able to go out there and impact this team in the right way impact winning should we say right like that’s the thing to me how are you going to impact winning I love seeing him in a set with Josh giddy that like that’s the first thing I imagine being able to set some pick and rolls with him being able to roll to the bucket and finish at the bucket strong um I think the giddy opens up his game a little bit more as well as far as being able to knock down the jump shot knock down the mid-range those are things that you want to see him continue to add to his game but to me this is this is a phenomenal signing for the Bulls and I think this is a is a big name I’m not going to say a big name but it’s a it’s a piece that seems like it fits too perfect and I’m just happy that the Bulls were able to actually go out there and get it like I said let me know how you guys feel in the comments below let me know your thoughts do you feel like this is a good signing by the Chicago Bulls do you feel like this is a another mid-level signing it is what it is right he’ll impact something on this team or do you feel like this is something that the bulls actually benefited from I’ll be down there talking with you guys as well I feel positive about this signing I think you got this young man of the Great Value and I think this young man still has a lot that he can show in this league let me know like I said your thoughts as always man it’s your boy path designer back at it again y’all stay safe out there Chicago C Red Nation stand up peace

I don't mind it. Lessens the blow of losing Caruso
Now We need to go get a Luke Kennard,Grayson Allen, maybe even Klay Thompson..
Good signing.
We needed size at the 4.
We finally have a real PF.
🛑Josh Giddy🛑🤦🏾♂️
As long as Billy Donovan is the coach, nothing is going to work as a matter of fact he probably won't play that much just like Andre Drummond didn't
So they're younger now what? They are going to stink for the next few years at least
Good signing.
Still need to get rid of Vuc and Zach.
I am in shock. Since when do Chicago sports organizations make good front office moves????
He's a thaddeus young type at best
I am glad we signed a "3 & D" big. We need 2 more of them.
in the modern NBA, you should just spend 10-15M dollars on 3 & D bigs (total of 30M-45M) and then load up on wings.
Big money should be spent on 3 or 4 perimeter players who cost 20-50M per year.
If we trade vuch and resign Drummond we good
This was a really good signing considering he was a former top 10 pick in draft 2020. He has the potential to be something whether it’s a starting or off the bench role. This is exactly what the Bulls have to do. Hopefully, they can trade either Vuch or LaVine. Maybe sign James Wiseman as well.
Solid move!!
Get Vuc and Demar off the books find a shooter, and a starting center and give Javonte Green vet min, probably trade Lavine at deadline in Feb
It doesn't matter the Bulls are still going to be butt cheeks!
Yes good sign
Giddey for Caruso, allow Drummond to walk then sign Jalen Smith $9mil per, Levine and DeRozan wants out 😂😂😂 you guys certainly know how to make other frustrating organizations look good
Bulls traded Caruso to OKC with the most 1st round picks for josh Giddey allowed Drummond to walk to Phly after Daryl tried trading for him in February sign Jalen Smith $9mil DeRozan and Zach wants out why did you guys miss out on Tobias Harris?…😂😂😂
