Welcome back first take not Long after being waved by the Golden State Warriors cp3 Chris Paul found a new home in San Antonio according to w cp3 is signing a oney deal with the spurs worth more than 11 million I’m happy for Shannon Uh cp3 wanted to be on a court he wants to play it was Killing him Not getting enough playing time in Golden State obviously the clippers were on the phone Golden State was hoping to package in with Somebody else to work out a deal that could have landed him back in la with his family you know for Paul George or potential Paul George Trade but that didn’t work out but cp3 wants to play he knows he still has something left obviously they need guard play and they need leadership in San Antonio and and RC buford and gre popov made it very very clear they want this brother on the court being The Leader We all know him to be as long as He’s Happy I’m happy love i love the mo for the sps and I love Paul pick and roll w He can teach Castle as he Comes up through the ranks I like this it gives him An opportunity st as you mention to play his 25 to 30 Minutes night on a nightly basis i don’t believe He’s going to play much more than that but it gives him An opportunity to get on the court because he can still provide valuable Minutes He’s a leader He can score He can teach w play the pick and role I like he He’s not as Active on the defensive as he once was but he still can Knock Down shots he still a very valuable Piece I like him going to sp I really do and by the way and by the way He’s not a defensive play He’s Just not What He used to be but He’s not He’s Better Than Most and He’s a born leader you know He’s going to Hold other players accountable you know that about him and he wants to play Man Only Thing that B me about SH i hate the fact that Somebody this great Who’s destined for to be a first Ball Hall ofer I don’t see him in a Championship situation shon Pa is de he had a Conversation with gre pop basically sold him on the culture and What they’re Trying to do there in San anio Chris paul’s looking forward to partner with Victor over there you can just Imagine all the lobs that Victor is going to have from Chris paul’s creation on the office and then as wellis Paul looking for forward to showing everybody that he still elite Point guard in this League I do expect him to go into San Antonio as a starting Point guard I know He didn’t like that role too much there in Golden State He’s A Team Player he did What He had to do but he believes that he very much well still has more in the Tank and he he He’s eager for the opportunity to showcase that What do you think of the move well I’d love the move for San Antonio listen I thought they did Victor a disservice last season with the roster that they put out there and the things that they tried and as wonderful as this season was I think think it’s even better had they put a team out there that was reasonably confident right and and I think they will acknowledge to a certain extent that that was the case and I think this is the first move in showing look We Know We have a generational Talent Uh We’re not going to waste that you know He’s ready to win now and be competitive now Let’s put a team out that that will allow that and I think Chris Paul is a terrific fitz It’s not just the skill set Yes it’s diminished somewhat because of age but He’s still highly skilled more importantly the leadership i go back to What He was able to do with okc When he was there he Taught a bunch of Young talented guys how to win Uh He’s not afraid of being a leader he knows Sometimes you have to make people uncomfortable in order to get the best out of them and I think He’s really going to be perfectly suited to go into that situation with greg popovic and and I think it’s going to be great I would assume There are going to be other deals to be made and I was going to Circle back to some chr was talking about like Keep in mind you know Golden State I still feel like they’re going to do a Sign Trade Because I think That’s the best way for them to their roster Still You Know something We may not even discussed but There’s Got To Be other teams I mean just off top my head If you’re milwa Why aren’t you Maybe potentially Looking to try to get involved in a scenario If I could get clay Thomson I would At least try to explore that because they still are going to need some help in their back cour alongside Dam l And Again Shooting always a premium even more so with yannis and losing mal and losing beasley and That’s my Point so like those are the kinds of scenarios that I think If you’re Golden State they’ve got to really look at because ultimately they’re not going to be able to improve this roster significantly if they allow him to walk in free agency yeah the challenge with the new cba greg with the highest spending teams take a milwaukee or Phoenix they’re significantly restricted the Sign and Trade rules now are a lot more complicated than they used to be which makes it hard That’s What the wanted the League did not want the top teams in terms of payroll to be able to add a lot of Talent So I think clay Sign Trade going out of Golden State makes more Sense to Dallas They have a lesser payroll he slots in easier there um with with San Antonio I agree with just about everything you said I think they did a disservice last Year putting the ball in Jeremy soan hands early in the year I thought that Hurt Victor development they played better as Year went on with trey Jones as the Point guard now Chris Paul Comes in as a starter I think tr slides into the backup roll I really like this move for the they still have some cap Space I don’t think San Antonio done dealing the bill they can Sign Chris Paul either with Space or With An exception if they operate is Over the cap team So I look for the spurs to continue to add Talent because as We Know They have a generational Young Player and when you have a generational Young Player From A front Office perspective You can’t Slow play this thing like a Detroit a Charlotte some of these teams are doing multi-year rebuilds I think you owe it to Victor to
