[Cowley] And the “King of the Fourth” will be a Bull no more … the Alex Caruso-Josh Giddey trade was the final straw … Bulls continue pushing the youth movement Monday, signing Jalen Smith to a three-year deal.

“the final straw” makes it sound like Deebo pissed at us lmao sorry we aren’t paying you 120M/3yr big bro, go sign with LA so Kendrick Lamar’s prophecy of DeRoz going back to Inglewood can be actualized

  2. J_InTheMiddle

Does that mean that Pat is gonna play on SF and Jalen Smith PF with Vuc on C?

  3. People who understand the salary cap… can we still sign and trade DeMar and get value back from him? Norman Powell or Rui Hachimura would be a nice piece to add

BREAKING NEWS: There is no news to report so here’s an obvious statement everyone already knew.

  5. Da Marvelous Demar Da Leader Derozan. Appreciated his time here. He was a real one. Good luck to him. He was great for the Bulls. Too bad the Bulls weren’t great for him.

  6. BasketRap

He caught a ton of flack that was just fans frustrated at the direction of the team/ownership, but he was by far the best and most consistent player on the team during his time here. Hope he can find a contender.

He’ll always be one of my favorite Bulls. I’ll miss the clutch shots, the midrange, the b2b game winners, the magical 28 ppg mvp season.

First Jersey I bought since Drose. Will miss Demar, thanks for all of the memories.

  9. Tonkathedog

Been clear for a while but gonna miss him. Super fun player to watch during these past few years even if the team wasn’t exactly the most fun to watch

But makes sense moving from AC was the “final straw” since clearly that was AKME getting the green light or finally choosing to take a step back for the sake of youth. No real place for Demar if that is your vision

Fr I’m not believing it till I see it. Until I see Demar signing with a new team, I’m holding my breath

I don’t see how this is really news, but yeah, I assumed trading Caruso so early also served as a “DeMar, we’re pivoting” signal.

Good.get the 3 Bums outta town already… All 3 are career losers..let them go and blame yet another team for their lack of success..

  13. Outside the mid level, no one has money for him. A sign and trade with the Lakers or Clippers makes little sense to me as I see almost no assets that would be interesting really

  14. WITHERDRAGONYT

Damn im gonna miss deebo fr i hope he wins a ring before retiring

I love DeMar, but it was definitely time to move on. He’s not getting any younger and should go actually try to win somewhere while he can. We need to see what all the young guys are actually capable of. I’m actually excited to watch more ball movement and less ISO-ball.

Honestly whatever it takes, move Demar & Lavine. Sick of the stagnation and utter irrelevance. Orlando lapped us for Christ’s sake. There needs to be a sign THIS season that the new regime are capable. If we’re lucky, Donovan will be fired by before 2025

  17. MisterAutomatic

He was the best thing to happen for the Bulls since the D-Rose era. I will forever be a fan. Kill it on your next team DeMar!

  18. Papa_Boat17

DeMar, lavine, Caruso are now on my forever Bulls roster

I’m glad he’s leaving. He’s a decent guy, but he doesn’t fit our timeline or the style of play we should be pushing for. I also think that Patrick Williams would work best at the SF spot.

  20. Although I’m down on the Caruso trade I think they’ve made some good moves otherwise. Retaining Patrick Williams for under $20M per year was nice (between him, Coby, and Ayo AK has done a good job on the RFAs). Jalen Smith also seems to be a solid pickup who on paper brings a lot of what this team needs. I’m not as high as others on Buzelis but for an 11th pick in this draft class I’m good with it.

Still a lot of big picture stuff pending but not a bad start.

i will not miss demar the player. i was never a fan of his game… and even more so the last 10 years where the game has taken another route.

i will dearly miss demar the person tho. magnificent dude, an exceptional teammate and mentor.
