that’s right there’s something for everyone every day all summer long visit fanduel.com locked on to get started the Dallas Mavericks trade for Klay Thompson we’ll talk about what he brings to the team we’ll talk about what he can do what he still can do and what he can’t do anymore uh there’s a little bit little bit of that with a Klay Thompson signing we’ll talk about what the deal is with the Mavericks are you know getting themselves into right now with the Mavericks sent out we’ll talk about how that sort of shakes up we’ll talk about where the Maverick’s roster stands now we’ll talk about U all that kind of stuff we’ll talk about the pivot moves that the maps don’t have to do now that I was not happy I was writing a list of pivot moves the M make and I was like oh no I don’t know about that but let’s start here the Mavs trade for Klay Thompson is reported by Adrian wowski three years $50 million is the most they could offer him three years not four years I think is important the Mavs get Klay Thompson he’s 34 years old yes one of the best three-point shoters in the NBA still Yes 39% on 9 threes a game last year really great he solves a problem for the Mavericks the Mavericks needed another shooter the Mavericks needed another scorer now one thing the Mavs are going to have to do is change their playbook a little bit yes Klay is going to get a ton of open threes now yes Klay is goingon to help the Mavericks spacing wise because how do you leave Klay Thompson open the Mavs you know teams playing the Mavericks in the playoffs were leaving Derrick Jones Jr leaving PJ Washington leaving Dante XOM leaving Josh Green all over the place imagine if one of those is Klay Thompson now solves a problem for the Mavericks great love that solves a a problem for the Mavericks and that’s when I look at these transactions I say dides it solve a problem that this this team had and if you get to the end of it you go oh I don’t know that it did it’s fun it’s fun did it solve a problem but this one does it absolutely does it’s an improvement think about it as the improvement over Tim Hardway where Quinton Grimes is the improvement over Josh Green maybe Naji Marshall is the improvement over Derrick Jones Jr we’ll see in time on on both of those but you know Klay Thompson is going to be an improvement on Tim Hardway Jr and that’s where we are right now with this team but I think more importantly than Klay Thompson coming in and solving a problem on the court for the Mavs one of the big things Nico Harrison said when he came in to be the Dallas Mavericks president of basketball operations he had this interview with our own WFAA he sat down with them and he said this phrase probably seven times during the interview and we all cracked up so much that it’s been on the board ever since Dallas is going to get a seat at the table Dallas is going to get a seat at the table think about where this franchise has been in the past it was 9 years ago I think yesterday June 30th maybe July 1st that the report came out from Chris brousard whether true or not Mark cubin tell me if it is or not email me text me whatever that Mark cubin was driving around downtown Dallas freaking out wildly texting and calling everybody he could to try and get DeAndre Jordan to agree to come to the Mavericks he had agreed to a deal and then he went back on it and then the whole thing with Blake Griffin and the chair picture in the house and all the Clippers joining together and if that’s not en clipped that show then uh that’s that that’s a bad move on their part because I would love to see that happen in some kind of dramatic fashion but there was that there was the missing out on on Carmelo Anthony there was a missing out on Dwight Dwight Howard with the ridiculous you know cartoon superhero uh thing that they made for him like the thing that they made for him there was the going for Mike connley and Hassan Whiteside in the same offseason and missing out on those guys there was going for Darren Williams and Mark Cuban going to Shark Tank and not going to that meeting Nico Harrison and Michael Finley went to California to meet with Klay Thompson they went they had they knew what they they wanted when they realized that the Derk Jones Jr situation was probably going to get a little more complicated than they thought they pivoted Klay Thompson was their number one there’s also been reports that the Mavs were going after kcp and that he was their number one and when that became a little more complicated they couldn’t do that they pivoted and instead of just going with one track mind one trck mind of we’ve got to get this guy or it’s nobody else remember in 2020 how many of us were sitting there we’re sitting there listening to this hurts to talk about because I was I was one of them we sat there listening to Danny Green’s podcast in 2020 and I know we didn’t have a lot to do do with them at that point we were bored in the house and I’m in the house bored but we were all sitting listening to Danny Green’s podcast trying to figure out if Danny Green was GNA join the Mavericks or the Lakers and how many times have the Mavs lost free agents to the Lakers the heat the big markets and the Mavs just got one yes he’s 34 yes he’s on the back end of his career yes he’s two injuries removed but the Mavs got a free agent that the Lakers didn’t I think that that notable and I think that niik Harrison came in and said Dallas is going to get a seat at the table and they did for one of the best free agents that they could the one of the best free agents they could get out there I think that’s important it’s a small it’s maybe a small thing to you it’s maybe a small thing to uh to people looking from the outside in if you’re a you know a Warriors fan watching this you’re probably like why are you making such a big deal about this well for a long time the Mavs were like a laughing stock in free agency they would do this thing called plan powder where they would save up all this cap space they would have all this cap space and then they get nobody and then they pivot to all right well let’s bring in uh let’s what do we do now let’s get old Darren Williams now let’s uh instead of spending our cap space let’s just give porzingis a huge Max contract that we don’t know if he’s going to be able to fulfill because of his injuries and we’ll have him fill them that space But the Mavs got a deal done and Nico Harrison got a deal done the Mavs Dallas is going to get a seat at the table they did and I think that that’s notable and I think that’s great for the this franchise they just went to the finals and Klay Thompson according to adri wowski said that the Mavs were uh Klay Thompson had fouryear offers for more money different places we’re not not sure if that one of those was the Lakers but he had four-year offers for more money but decided that he wanted to take less because it was offset by the ability to win a fifth Championship the Mavs were looked at as a contender by Klay Thompson the difference in state taxes between Texas and California I I don’t know if you’re up on your state tax code things but uh it’s it’s significant it’s a very big difference if you’re making 16 million a year like Clay’s about to it’s a really big difference so between that and so I think that that that should be looked at as a win [Music] too breaking news the Mavs having no state taxes in Texas finally lures them a free agent after all these years of people saying that that could be a factor could it be a factor not having state taxes it should be looked at as more of a factor now finally is we a free agent the map’s getting Klay Thompson and Dallas Dallas is going to get a seat at the table getting a seat at the table I think is important for a championship guy to come in to bring that experience to bring the three-point shooting to solve the problem that he does I think all that combined is significant for this Dallas Mavericks team they’ve now got the Streamline front office where there’s not as much owner interference again email me Mark cubin if you’d like to discuss that but it goes Patrick juman is the governor the owner of the Mavs tanico Harrison Michael Finley and all and everybody in the front office it’s streamlined now they went in got it done there was not all this well let’s stick with let’s stick with Danny Green and maybe he won’t make a decision but he seems like Danny Green’s waiting for Kawhi Leonard and if he doesn’t do that then all of a the maps have become a more a more interesting option the maps have become a more viable option for team for players and free agents out there and now it’s been proven that the Mavericks can be a destination I think that’s significant for the Dallas Mavericks significant for them going forward and significant for them now now what does Klay Thompson bring to this team what does he not bring to this team because I think that there are some things we have to sort through what should we expect from Klay Thompson what can he bring we’ll talk about all that and more coming up you don’t believe you shouldn’t be here today’s episode is brought to you by FanDuel FanDuel Sports we has all kinds of props and odds and things that you can use to get in on the action this summer talking about sports all kinds of things uh I don’t think I think Klay Thompson didn’t change the Mavs odds to win the West I think it actually went down they’re plus 500 right now so if you’re feeling good about the Mavs winning the West with some of the additions the Mavs made they still have a couple other things they can do you can check that out as well um bronny James still has a tab on FanDuel I don’t know if you’re still interested in bronny James after for the draft but you can go check that out right now there’s all kinds of boosts and bonuses daily and all that stuff they’ve got uh the Euro 20 or 2024 on there the the soccer tournament they’ve got Copa America on there as well so all kinds of fun stuff WNBA you can check out as well the Dallas wings are an 11 and a half Point Underdog against the storm going on Monday night but check out fanduel.com and get in on the action fanduel.com fanduel.com my first shot my first make [Music] thanks everybody for hanging out this un lockdown Maps being part of the show part of the raccoon Squad listening every day appreciate each and every one of you for checking out the show Daily five days a week all throughout the offseason maybe I’ll go on some vacation at some point but the Mavs keep giving me things to talk about so this is why we’re here Mavs went on a finals run and in the finals run one of the biggest things all throughout it was oh my gosh this team just needs one more shooter they need one more scorer and how much time do we spend in the finals and even before that going can exom just can Hardy just can Tim Hardaway just just just give us like you know five minutes here or there just two threes can you just give us two threes here or there he just knock down a couple shots and they got it a couple times Hardy in the you know in the Timberwolf series got uh Tim Hardway gave it to you in game two the Thunder series which is a huge game huge swing game for the Mavericks in that series exom gave you a couple in the finals but they just needed that one knockdown guy they needed that third score and Klay Thompson yes he’s 34 years old he’ll be 35 in February he’s been back two and a half years from the Achilles injury and the ACL injury and all those and back he’s actually recovered pretty nicely from those last year he averag about 18 points a game 39% on nine threes a game shot 50% on twos which is not great but he only took like five a game so you’re not really asking him to take a lot of those a couple step inside the line attack a close out and take a little jumper if he’s got space for him great he can hit those shots for sure you’re not going to ask him to create a lot of offense which I think is is one thing that we want to talk about something he doesn’t bring the Mavs did not get there go get me a bucket score they don’t have that thirdy they still don’t have that third guy they’ve got a third option to do that they’ll have to increase their playbook a little bit because forever the Mavericks for at least since Luca and Kyrie have been on the actually since since Luca and Brunson were running the team basically under Jason kid it’s been Luca is the scheme and the guy that replaces Luca in the lineup when Luca sits on the bench is the Luca now they did this with Brunson and Brunson turned into what he is now they did this with uh McKinley Wright the fourth who was put in the situation we like I go in there and just cook he was like oh my God right now like yes they’ve done this with Hardy they’ve done mean they’ve tried this over and over again with guys and it just doesn’t work You’ got to create some kind of offensive system for this and I think they’ve got to open the Playbook but they didn’t really have guys to open the playbook for the Mavs have had a lot of these role players that are just come in knock down a shot maybe attack a close out but mostly not mostly just standstill Shooters and it’s been by Design because Luca creates the most catch and shoot threes most wide open threes in the NBA he just does so for everyone that I’ve seen a lot of takes today that have been what are how does Klay Thompson even fit into the Mavericks offense doesn’t it like the Mavs offense could not be more different than the Warriors offense that’s true there’s less ball movement there’s less sharing of the ball here and there but you know what Klay Thompson’s going to get a bunch of wide open shots and if you want an aging Klay Thompson to still be running around on offense and trying to have to run through he used to be the guy that ran the most in the NBA ran the most miles in the NBA I don’t know if that was true this past year but he used to be the guy that ran the most they still have the hustle play they still got to have the the hustle like measuring plays like that he drew he ran five miles in a game Kay won’t have to do that as much in Dallas now they they’ll want him to do that a couple times here and there and they they’ll have to open up the playbook for him but they can now I don’t think you were doing that for Tim Hardway Jr he’s not the same kind of movement off a screen shooter the Mavs desperately wanted him to be and they ran some stuff for him and so now the Mavericks have this incredible spot up shooter incredible guy that they can run off the screens do all that kind of stuff he’s going to be a veteran he’s the oldest on the team by a couple years I think he’s two years older than Kyrie who was the oldest before two years older than Maxi too consant professional he’s going to come in he’s a four-time champion so now the Mavs have Kyrie with a championship and clay with four that’s experience right there they needed that another voice in the locker room that’s been there before you’ll have Klay Thompson and Kyrie sharing 2016 stories and sharing 2018 stories or the finals and all that that’s going to be fun for them I think he’s I think a change of scenery for Klay Thompson also is going to be great he’s been in that Warriors locker room for a long time he’s been with some of those guys for a long time he’s been with Draymond Green for a long time the Mavs don’t have a Draymond Green clay clay if you’re listening to this the Mavs don’t have a Draymond Green if they have someone close to it I it’s not there’s no one close to it this is a chill locker room I think he’s GNA fit in really well guys that enjoy playing with each other uh they did have a Draymond Green his name was Grant Williams and he’s he was gone last year so they don’t have that guy anymore I think he’s going to love playing with some of these young guys because they just fit his his Vibe I think that it’s going to be a good fit for him I think he’s going to it’s going to be refreshing for Klay Thompson I think now so he brings three-point shooting what does he y his down year last year was 39% from three that was a down year for Klay Thompson on a Warriors team that didn’t have a lot of creation didn’t have a lot of you know shot creation for others and all that kind of stuff now what he’s not so he’s he he did force it too much at times in the Warriors offense last year he was a little more selfish tried to get his own shot he is in a contract year so he was trying to f figure out how to do that and all that he would take you know some contested shots off the dribble and things like that I think the Mavs will have to put him into a more defined role and I think that the Mavs have done really well to do that but will Klay Thompson want to do that will he want to will he come in and want to get some shots here and there he’s got a longer term deal now three years so Jason kid this is his time now you’ve got another quote unquote ego I don’t know that Klay Thompson has the the biggest ego but we know that he felt disrespected by The Warriors we know felt disrespected by that deal we know that he felt some type of way about the way that they treated him and that’s why he’s not there anymore so there’s some kind of ego there so now it’s on Jason kid all right this is not a minimum drik Jones Jr type Guy this is not a Tim Hardway Jr been around the block and knows that he can be yanked from starting lineup to six man to not playing and all that like this is Klay Thompson so now this is on Jason kid figure out how to deal with it he’s going to be a starter absolutely he’ll come in there’s no way that niik Harrison got through this whole this whole thing with without promising that Klay Thompson would be a starter I don’t think and so now he comes in and they’re going to have to figure some stuff out because one of the things that Klay Thompson is not going to bring is Elite defense like he used to like five years ago he was on the all defensive team he was looked at as an elite point of attack Defender he was looked at as a guy that you could win a championship if Klay Thompson was your best perimeter Defender he had Draymond behind him and that helped him for sure but he’s 34 years old now couple of like should be career- ending injuries and he came back from him but he’s not that guy and so starting Luca Kyrie and Klay Thompson is going to be interesting how do they make that work your best perimeter Defenders are all going to be coming off the bench except PJ Washington you got PJ Washington but he’s a he’s a four so I don’t know where like don’t your but I still think they’re best perimeter Defenders I still think that Naji Marshall and and Grimes are going to be their best perimeter Defenders and they be coming off the bench all right but between Klay Thompson Quinton Grimes Naji Marshall Dante exom PJ Washington is that enough point of attack defense to make it through a regular season absolutely I’m not worried about that it’s playoff time what does it look like and so from the beginning of the Season until the end of the regular season we got the maps have got to figure out one does this all work did we get enough offensive creation did did that work can our defense still work all that and then how do we get better point of attack defense and all that they’ve got some pieces to work with Jason kid’s got something to figure out with that because clay it doesn’t just solve that problem he solves their three-point problem he solves their one more option on offense problem he solves their if Luca has a crazy play and a crazy pass and he throws it to a guy and that guy misses the shot like it ruins his clip it ruins ruins the fun of that they’ve solved that problem a little bit because Klay Thompson is going to be one of those guys that can knock down that shot but they didn’t solve their defense they actually they actually made it kind of a little bit more of a question and that’s kind of tough because he’s solid defensively he’s not going to be a liability but he’s getting older and he’s had those injuries he’s not as quick laterally as he used to be he’s not Elite like he was before but he can still be a credible Defender so now you’ve got three of those guys that like can be credible Defenders Luca Kyrie and now clay but at least he’s going to be a smart Defender you know that you know he’s coming and he’s going to know exactly where he’s supposed to be he’s going to learn the system I think that that that is not going to be a problem and the map system on defense can make bad Defenders or not great Defenders look better than they are the sum of their part you know the the hole is more than the sum of their parts on defense so I think that’s a positive I think there’s two positives for for Klay coming to the Mavericks now he doesn’t have to run around as as much on offense anymore expend all that energy so maybe he’s a little bit better than he was defensively last year CU he’s not has to do so much on offense you don’t have to Pound The Rock and you don’t have to run around a million screens just to create one open shot Luca’s going to create that open shot for you and guess what you’re not going to have to move at all how about that clay stand there clay clay stand there I don’t have to run all over the place no you don’t stand over stand over there and I’m gonna I’m gonna do all this stuff and I’m going to create that shot for you and every once in a while that’s going to be an incredible thing and so we’ll see we’ll see how it fits but I I feel good about the fit I feel good about just the the asset management of it that they upgraded from you know Tim Hardway Jor to Klay Thompson now does it solve all their problems no it solved some of them created a little bit more questions but questions that could be answered in the regular season and the Mavs coming up we’ll talk about still got some first round picks still got some room to sign guys and let’s talk about this deal because Josh Green went out to the Hornets let’s talk about that deal and more coming up you don’t believe you shouldn’t be here shut it down let’s go all right Isaac let’s get into this deal so the deal kind of is like slowly making its way through slowly making its way through uh and there you know W reported the deal was uh that the deal was done and then everybody was then all these Warriors reporters and Chris hannes were like hey it’s not done it’s not done yet but this is what the deal ended up being so the Mavericks get Klay Thompson three years $50 million deal to be about like 16 million the first year I believe they’re the Mavs are also going to send out Josh grain to Charlotte the warriors were not interested in Josh Green they didn’t want to do a sign and trade where they get somebody back so they wanted to clear money they waved Chris Paul and his 30 million dollar they have now gotten rid of Klay Thompson’s that that fan basee is going through it right now Josh Green goes to Charlotte and the Hornets sent back two second round picks one of those second round picks will go to the Mavericks so now the Mavs have two second round picks because they had four and then they sent three for Tim Hardway Jr and Quinton Grimes and now they got one from the Hornets so they’re going to get one of those second round picks and then another one of the second round picks goes to the Warriors The Warriors are like we’d rather have one second round pick and all the financial flexibility and not have Josh Green yikes tough one tough for Josh green uh it’s stinks to see Josh Green go I was a believer in him I I liked what he brought to the team he was one of those guys that he got brought in as the the 19th pick and a lot of those don’t pan out but he was picked before guys like Tyrese Maxi tough one Desmond Bane from TCU Texas Christian University tough one that was a brutal one and so he got compared to those guys all the time because the Mavs Miss Sadi Bay went a pick right after him that’s the guy I thought the Mavericks should have picked on draft night he kept getting compared to those guys but at least he was a guy that was solid and thinking I was sending locked on Hornets I was sending Doug Branson some like not notes and thoughts on on Josh green and one of the things I was remembering was how like timid of a three-point shooter he was when he first came in and how confident of a three-point shooter he is now night and day difference I think that’s commendable and I think that’s something that was cool to see and cool to witness and cool to watch cool to see him you know have those stories where he was working out with uh you know Kyle Lowry in the offseason in Las Vegas and all that kind of stuff and so I’m sad to see Josh Green go but I’m not too sad because Quinn Grim is gonna replace everything that Josh Green did and I think he’s going to be better at it so the Mavs one to one replaced him so whatever you were concerned about oh man the Mavs are going to miss Josh greens this they’re goingon to miss Josh greens this Quint Grimes does that he does all those things and I think Naji Marshall does the passing of of Josh green because I don’t think Quinn Grimes has the passing ability that Josh Green did but nji Marshall definitely does and so they replaced that they replac that with two guys that could be better than him and so the Mavs aren’t missing too much in this because I think Nico Harrison’s done a really good job in do taking what the Mavericks had which was not a ton and getting some guys so now you look at the lineups that the Mavericks can throw out there and I think that Lively will start we’ll probably do some shows on that and all throughout the offseason all that we can debate that if we want but I think that that Lively starts Luca and Kyrie obviously start Klay Thompson’s definitely going to start PJ Washington’s going to start it’s a pretty good starting lineup offensively if Lively steps out and starts hitting some threes that’s a great offensive lineup you’ve got spacing you’ve got attackers and luuk and Kyrie creators you’ve got you know I think PJ Washington’s gonna add a little bit more off the dribble Klay Thompson can do some stuff off the dribble so for as much as Warriors fans complained about him at least he can do some things off the dribble just don’t force some of those shots Derrik Lively can a post up and obviously be a roller and all that like they’ve got a lot of options on offense that’s a good starting lineup coming off the bench Gafford will probably be one of the first off the bench you got Quinton Grimes Naji Marshall two of your best perimeter Defenders so you got different options with them you can play both of them together you can play both of them with Klay Thompson and Luca like you can you can like play Naj Marshall at the four you can do a lot of different things like that Maxi kba Dante XOM Jaden Hardy Dwight Powell omax Prosper coming into you know his second year this season and then AJ Lawson you got one more roster spot to do something something with you’ve got about $4.4 million in the mid-level exception they they used some of the mid-level exception to sign Naji Marshall so they’ve got another spot there’s some guys the Mavs could go after and maybe we’ll talk about that a little bit little bit later on the show but but yeah the Mavs have another thing to to do but they’ve pivoted pretty well you basically turn Tim Hardway Jr Josh green and Derrick Jones Jr into Klay Thompson Quinton Grimes Naj Marshall it’s not bad plus you didn’t lose any of your first round picks that you had think you had two that you were able to trade you have two second round picks and you started with four so that work that worked out pretty well and now you’re stuck under the first apron so you’re not going to be a tax team Financial flexibility you’re stuck under it so you can’t make you know a ton of moves after that like you can’t go um yeah you can’t make a ton of moves because you’re hard cap because you signed and trade for Klay Thompson but they’re still under the first apron which I think is great and especially great for going into free agent or going into free agency next year going into you know trade deadline this year great love what the maps have done you can go get a Spencer dwy to add that extra shot creat creation you could go get a uh you know you could go maybe try and trade for like a TI sign and trade for well he can’t sign and trade but you can go and try to get a Dennis Smith Jr with that you just want that one more guy there some interesting options there but I’m I like the move for the Mavericks I like what they did Asset Management wise Jason kids got some problems to figure out 100% not a perfect deal not a perfect deal at all but you’re not going to find a like a perfect deal at this point Klay Thompson yes he’s 34 three-year deal at the end of this he’s going to be getting close to 38 that’s tough he’s coming off some injuries couple years ago you worried about that but I think overall I think it’s a good it’s a good deal for the Mavericks I think they made some good moves and I think that that Jason kid has some work cut out for him but the Mavs have options now there you go let me know in the comments SE what you thought about this what you think about the Klay Thompson deal we’ll be back with all kinds of shows throughout the offseason summer league all that stuff we’ll be here guys thanks much for listening to lock on maps peace out boom

  1. honestly, the only concern I have with Klay is his ego. I really hope I'm proven wrong by Klay that he goes out and play 100% regardless of the role he's asked to play.

  2. I love this addition. I know Klay has taken a step back, mainly on D, but he still can be that Ray Allen on this team. Can the Mavs still sign someone like Dinwiddie? I would love him back.

  3. This year alot of guys were Available that could improve our team and Nico has done just that! And kept a core together bravo šŸ‘!

  4. With all the potential we alredy have + Klay accepting the Manu Ginobili role + bringing Dinwiddie back where he belongs + Lively putting some muscles & developing + multiple small adjustments = multiple Rings. Thx NicošŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

  5. The whole well we can work on his 3pt shooting to we have 3 guys that already average good shooting and can play D. I'm stoked.

  6. 27:00 we will be there to see what type of offense if any he can implement besides being a mediator of egos.

  7. Ok I want the fact that our Offense just got better and we lost our point of attack defender and now we have 3 guards that can't guard starting for us. Back ups ain't helping that much. Not unless they start, and they just let the best one go. Klay needed to come off the bench like GS realized. Kidd might have to put him there. But Klay pouted when that happened.

  8. Even though he's injured, and not in his prime, he's still a good player, and a HUGE upgrade over Hardaway Jr, who is also injury prone, and inconsistent.

  9. So as of right now, we got

    5. Lively/Gafford
    4. PJ/Maxi
    3. Klay/Naji
    2. Kyrie/Grimes/Hardy
    1. Luka/Exum/Hardy

Dang. That's a pretty complete team. Especially since we just went to the finals, and it's not like we got worse. šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰

  10. For all Klay haters: we paid THJ more last season. How bad can this signing really be? Plus shooting is the last skill to go, so stop worrying about his age

  11. So what is the roster:
    PG Luka, Exum, Hardy
    SG Kyrie, Klay, Grimes, AJ
    SF PJ, Naji
    PF Maxi, Omax, Morris
    C Gaff, Lively II, Dwight

Well. A PF could be helpful to bolster our somewhat thin frontcourt. 4,4 Mio to spend. How about using that and our biannual to get one. Can we get a Vezenkov?

  12. You mentioned who Josh got picked ahead of but he also was picked after Killian Hayes, Kira Lewis Jr, Aleksej Pokusevski and a few other questionable picks. In a redraft Josh gets picked BEFORE Dallas is on the clock

  13. I know I'm the only Mavs fan that'll say this but s.o to Dwight Powell for forever staying on the roaster šŸ˜‚

  14. His defense is still miles above THJ and defense wasnā€™t the problem in the finals it was shooting.

  15. Great off-season by the Mavs considering what they had to work with… In my opinion Grimes is a slight upgrade over Green, Marshall is a slight upgrade over Jones, and Klay is a big upgrade over Tim.

  16. I am very curious to see the impact this trade will have on the general energy management of the superstars. I mean, for all I know, Klay is a former all-star who should be a reliable third option (even if past his prime on both ends), and I wonder if that will have a positive impact on Luka's minutes by relieving at least some of the offensive load. I guess extra energy for defensive efforts by Luka, Kyrie and Klay himself without hurting the offense would be key.
