Nuggets have two roster spots left. I think one is going to a point guard (potentially Russell Westbrook). I think the other is slated for a backup center, and that’s probably where Denver uses its taxpayer MLE (around $5 million). Expect news on the backup center soon.

Idk why Westbrook didn’t just sign for the vet min if he wanted to come here. Like what assets do we have to trade for him, we already traded most of our seconds, and he’s not worth our one first round pick.
Can we afford Demar? And get Russ on MLE?
So Holmes, Zeke, DAJ, Vlatko and the new backup C off the bench, that’s a lot of players at the 4-5 position off the bench (add PWat in there too who plays most of his minutes at the 4)
God this team has taken such a massive step back. Braun is unproven as a starter and we don’t have a single bench player on the roster that we can trust in the playoffs. There’s is far too much being put on the shoulders of Watson, Tyson, Pickett, Strawther, and Holmes as we’re gonna need at least two of them to make the step from unplayable in the playoffs to valuable rotation players even if we sign a good backup Center and Russ
Has Murray signed his contract yet ? If not , why would he be waiting ?
Westbrook isn’t even a guarantee. People are saying “oh, why him” but the reality is that they will probably have to add a 1st to even get him if Zeke is the play since Zeke contract is so bad.

Trying to keep a level head here, and we’ll see what ends up happening, but… If this is how it shakes out, it feels like our starting unit takes a step back but our bench takes a big step forward compared to last season.
So we probably end up at about the same level or slightly better than last year’s team, but not as good as our championship team. That doesn’t feel like the end of the world to me given how much the new CBA is fucking everything up for us

Honestly pretty ridiculous that we can’t land someone better than Westbrook. A Buddy Hield type player would be so much better. Elevating Braun is a dangerous game and booth has absolutely got to be better about this while Jokić is in his prime.

This fan base – Booth is clearly the worst GM in the history of sports and should be fired into the sun.
I mean if that’s it, Russ and a $5M center, I doubt that makes us a championship contender. But we’ll see i guess, the trade show just started.
Edit: just wanted to add that Russ, while an interesting addition to the bench unit, is not a move that puts us in title contention, not even close. And not building a team that contends for the championship while you have the best player in the league is ridiculous. And yea, even if it means trading some of our high-salary guys like mpj or murray. Actually i’d say everyone except Gordon is fair game.
Booth should cap off this disaster class by signing Justin Holiday to the MLE since he is trolling us.
As bad as it is over here it’s just as bad if not worse for Warriors and Clippers fans and honestly as bad as Bucks & Kings fans.
