outside of your personal excitement with being drafted with the seventh pick what what did that just mean to you to hug uh your teammate yeah I mean Steph Steph is uh I’m really proud of Steph happy for Steph you know as a freshman for him to come in and do what he did um you know help lead that team to another national title is something very hard to do as a freshman and uh you know I love that kid to death I’m extremely happy for him and you know I’ll be his I’ll be his biggest fan this year first row here hi congratulations shaylor New York Beacon can you talk about the excitement of going from the Big East tournament to the NCAA champ NCAA Championship to to having your name called just now yeah I mean it’s been a crazy two years you know from winning One National Title to winning the regular the Big East regular season to the the Big East t tournament to then winning another national title um you know a lot of a lot of winning a lot of succeeding in these past two years and you know I feel like I’m going to keep that chip of my shoulder and you know go into Portland with you know just a lot of confidence um you know the willingness to learn and get better every single day and you know I just want to have an impact and try to help this organization win and get to the top and try to win uh championships four throw on the right uh Donovan and congratulations again thank you um you mentioned the national championships you mentioned the Collegiate success uh you’re joining a really young team uh with some really uh promising young players how excited are you to play with some of these young guys and really grow together um yeah I’m really excited you know I feel like the connection with some of these young guys that you know I I’ve watched since I was in high school you know scoot in particular um you know I feel like you we have a chance to do something really special um you know and you know I’m young having a young team just growing up at you know around the same age you know everyone learning and getting better every day you know I’m really excited you know I feel like I’m at a loss of words right now I don’t even know what else to say um I’m just excited for this and extremely blessed for this opportunity and I’m really ready to get to Portland and get to work third go here on the left hi Donovan congratulations K Rooney Picks 11 here in New York what part of your skill set do you think will be most valuable in Portland um being able to space the floor knock down the three ball and you know just play make at a high level um you know I feel like I can you know handle the ball top of the key pass the ball at a high level you know I can shoot the ball at a high level and you know one thing about me is you I want to be a great teammate you know I want to be the best teammate I want to be the best player that you know coach wants to coach every day you know coach is happy about coaching them because you know he gives his all you know I want to be that guy and you know I’m just I’m just ready to get to work hey Donan um what was this day like for you I know you know a lot of anticipation uh what was it like having your family your coaches here being in the green room and then even you know waiting a little bit uh till 700 to get picked yeah um you know it’s a it’s a great feeling you know you you dream of this moment your whole life you watch it on TV every single year and you know to to have that moment here you know in front of you today and to hear my name called it’s something that you know I’ll remember for the rest of my life um that was a really special moment you know like I said though you know I’m I’m extremely blessed and grateful for everyone that has you know helped me get to this point and you know I’m ready to ready to get to work ready to learn and ready to you know try to impact winning third go here in the middle Donovan congrats thank you real quick so have you spoke to coach bips yet yes I just did how was that com before it was great um you know I like coach a lot you know when I went out there for my visit you know he was a good dude great dude and just the whole staff the whole organization people that you know you can tell people that really care people that want to win and people that really want to learn and get better and you know that’s something that you know that’s what I’m about and you know I’m really ready to get going do you remember watching do you remember watching him when he was a member of the Pistons or are you too young uh too young second row here on the right hey Ben couch NBA digital uh Donovan you know what does it say about the state of Yukon right now that not only did you guys have a winning program but you’re being recognized individually with draft BS up here in the top 10 yeah I mean it just shows that we’re the best pro we were the best program in college basketball and you know they still are right now um you know coach ch’s the best coach in college basketball and he’s producing players at a high level every single year um you know I’m not sure the exact number now with how many drafts you know draft picks he’s had these past five years but you know coach Charley has you know been he’s been the top of the top in college for you know a couple years now and you know I love that man to death last Brandy Richardson NBC
