This move may fall through the cracks but locking up JI is Huge

I’m starting to think KCP is gonna be the only actual addition this offseason.

It’s that time that all Magic fans knew was coming: What to do with JI. This will be intersting.

Locking JI is huge I know y’all probably tired of seeing JI in mock trades or people asking bout him lol

There’s no world where isaac needs to be re-negotiated in order to extend. He’s eligible to start at 23.8 which would be wild to give to a guy who hasn’t proven he can play 25 mpg regardless of how good he is when he plays.

  6. This guy needs to be gone, a trade would be nice

  7. Guessing this is a team friendly restructure that gives the Magic more flexibility and offers JI security.

I wonder what kind of money JI is going to get here – Now that he is finally healthy, I wonder if we can snag him for a good deal moving forward. Absolutely filthy elite D and a good outside shooter. For all the years we had him rehabbing, I hope they can pull off a good team-friendly deal.

Only thing I don’t like is this gives us basically no flexibility next offseason. He’s our only expiring contract next year, so if whatever we put together this offseason isn’t working were basically stuck with it unless we make a trade.

  10. Smart. Lock JI up now, so we don’t lose him later for nothing or have to sell low.

It’s just so tough to estimate exactly what he’s going to sign for…

I would hope he is willing to sign a team friendly deal with us since we gave him like $17 mil per year for 2-3 years while he recovered on the bench and played 0 minutes.

We have been very committed to him and patient and we’re in Florida with no income tax.

If we can sign Isaac to something like a 4 year, $40-60 mil contract, that would be so awesome. I might be coping at only $10-15 mil per year tho lol. Anything under $20 mil per year is at least acceptable

I had a feeling getting creative with JI was gonna be on the cards this offseason.

THESE ARE ALL A+++++ MOVES. IM PROUD OF OUR FO.

Also this just shows that our players love Orlando. They arent leaving if they may get slightly more on the open market.

Great for the culture and synergy, run it back, but improve on the weak areas and secure longer term contracts.
