Just want to remind people how good Robinson is on defense. He gave Embiid the toughest time out of all our players.

He was better than iHart the first half of the season. Hopefully he can finally put together a healthy season

  2. Aaaaaaandyy

Nobody is doubting his playing abilities, just his ability to stay healthy. He’s a clear DPOY candidate if he’s healthy all season.

  3. JuliusWithTheBraids

No one is questioning that. We’re scared he will be a grimacing gimpy shell of himself 3 months into the season.

  4. deadassynwa

No one is forgetting his ability

People are worried about his health and injury issues and rightfully so

Mans hasnt played a full season healthy yet.

  5. Franklinsleftnut

People question his availability, not his ability.

  6. Buddhaballer

if I knew he would be healthy all season is almost rather robinson. dude is a beast on defense and the wingspan on the court with og and bridges

    also love the guy.

but history says we need a good back up to him

  7. If healthy – sure, as good of a. rim protector as there is, but the ‘if healthy’ part is a concern.

  8. Ok_Woodpecker1732

This man deserves a full healthy season. I want it so bad for him.

  9. Everyone knows how good Mitch is when he’s healthy. The problem is he’s never that so it’s paramount to have someone good behind him. But unless we find another hidden gem that’s not going to be the case

and then he got injured. For the 2nd time this season. And like the 20th time in his career

  11. The_Notorious_Donut

People in this sub need to quit making up false narratives. No one is worried about Mitch’s defense. They’re worried about depth and his ability to stay on the court

  12. NYdude777

Mitch in the Cavs playoff series was fucking DOMINANT

  13. PolarRegs

There are some exceptions but bigs with a history of injury often maintain a history of injuries.

Mitch is a very good player. Hartenstein has a more varied set of skills, but at the things Mitch does — rebound and defend — Mitch is better. Unfortunately he has been very injury prone and at this point it is not wise to think he can last an entire season.

And yes, Mitch did great against Embiid. Embiid destroyed iHart. If there was an argument against overpaying him, it was right there.

    Mitch is a problem.

He’s a problem for other teams when he’s healthy, it just that he’s a bigger problem for us when he’s injured.

You can plan on Deuce, DDV, Hart and obviously Bridges to give you that durability, but doing the same with Mitch is just hope, and hope is not a plan, especially in a 16 game plus postseason.

  16. We love Mitch. We just want him to stay heathy and shoot a respectable free throw percentage.

  17. KareemPie81

Let’s find a young big man and let Thibs do his thing.

  18. As much as I hate to say it…and I hope I’m completely wrong. Mitch might be the type of player whose career will be defined by injuries. Even just the way he walks/runs up and down the court, he looks like he’s always laboring just to move around. It’s just looks like his body wasn’t meant to endure a lot of running and jumping.

  19. part of me wonders if we even get an extra center and if the idea is that rest of the lineup mitigates the sims/hukporti minutes. i feel like we NEED that injury assurance at C though

  20. Let me remind you that if he plays more than 24 mins a game , he will miss half the season . And probably 80% of the playoffs

  21. Dylan7346

I also just realized he’s never played more than 27 minutes per game. That’s a long time Mitch is off the court

  22. Knicksfan162

Mitch is good, but he can’t stay healthy and we need a backup regardless. Precious Achiuwa is pretty awful at the 5 spot especially on defense. Mitch also has no offensive game and is a liability down the stretch. iHart was one of our best passers and made plays at the C spot and has a floater that’s money. iHart may or may not have been overpaid but his loss will be greatly felt.

His style is impetuous, his defense is impregnable
