them to but this summer FanDuel is hooking up all customers with a boost or a bonus daily that’s right there’s something for everyone every day all summer long visit fanduel.com logdon to get started all right we will get started here talking about a pretty quiet start to the offseason for your Toronto Raptors the second found of the draft featured all sorts of minor trades and exciting High upside pickups and all that good stuff and yet uh since then it’s been crickets out of the Toronto Raptors for the most part here to talk about what we haven’t seen happen yet what that tells us about the Raptor’s intentions the Bruce Brown of it all the remaining very very few targets left on the free agent Market as go bat signed the second we started this podcast so even one less guy out there it is there pal the Jacob big V not quite as fun as Summers where they were after you know deari kale orari Caroll or trading for kawhai Leonard or um even signing Aaron Baines it’s been pretty quiet how you doing brother I’m doing great man I am writing the high of India winning the Cricket World Cup we got the Euros in full flow Wimbledon started today this is this is Peak me and so yeah the free agency you know we can’t call it Madness because we’ve just had you know one transaction trickling in after you know every couple hours every three four hours and we get to digest it and fully understand it and then we move on to the next one so um just the sprinkle of free agency that we’ve had so far uh is good with me because all the sports going on I I can take this pace yeah I mean you’re just a little you’re just in hog heaven right now Pig at the trough you are slopping up them Sports uh but for all those who are uh you know of we don’t want to peek behind the curtain we’re recording this podcast later than we expected uh and it’s actually a good thing because the batad signing does figure in what we’re going to talk about later with backup bigs and whatnot um but we’re recording late because we were watching the Slovenia Portugal game and I knew I just could not take big V away from extra time and Cristiano Ronaldo crying over missing penalty kicks uh it’s a day of Shame svenia lost anyway um let’s get into it we will talk about Bruce Brown and potential happenings with him I actually think there’s maybe some interesting possibility with the magic now that goab baz is going back there we will talk about that a little bit um but yeah let’s just kind of dive in here man the Raptors haven’t done a whole lot of anything we thought maybe a Bruce Brown trade was nigh when the guaranteed date uh passed and his his contract was picked up nothing yet on the Bruce Brown front there’s been not even like a whisper of Bruce Brown reporting from anyone it seems regarding what the hell’s going on on there maybe that’s a good thing maybe it’s not um you know no other sort of Fringe signings for the Raptors it’s pretty much status quo with a roster that is like 60% guards and a whole lot of questions in between what do you make of it all man do you have any sort of overarching takeaways from the lack of things to have takeaways from in the very first few hours first day whatever it’s been at for agency here well I think maybe maybe maybe on some level uh teams have become just a lot more cognizant of everything that’s happening with uh the salary cap ramifications and they’re so and so they’re just trying to be extremely um prudent with their decision- making and not trying to rush into anything um not gonna try and rush into any timoth mzg deals or bismack bomo deals uh and I think on the other side of it it’s probably also uh just a bit of uh you know kind of now knowing what the salary cap ramifications are just playing hard ball a bit more in these negotiations and saying hey this is kind of where we draw the line you know we’re not just going to be out here throwing money uh and then maybe the last part of it uh that I would say is maybe a sneaky small factor is not wanting it to get those tampering violations that have seemed to become a bit more stringent the last couple of years right and even even you know when the report came out was it a week ago about oh Paul George is no longer considering the Sixers I was like that doesn’t make any sense and I thought that was just a bit of a hey we we got to protect ourselves we just had embiid and PG on TV [Laughter] together let’s let’s avoid any investigations on this um and get this report out there and then obviously he ends up a sixer anyway so I think those are probably the three things that I would probably list as reasons for why it’s progressing the way it is yeah I mean and I think the other thing too is like the Raptors were never going to be gigantic players this summer right they were I was just answering generally yeah no that’s all right we are a raptor podcast so I’ll bring it on back uh but yeah I I I think with the we could talk about the broad generess of it because look the Raptors haven’t been involved I do think the uh my my big takeaway overall is that the new CBA sucks it makes being a fan Less Fun it makes the opening of free agency Less Fun and the tampering thing uh no one cares about tampering except angry mean stupid owners uh fans don’t care about tampering it does not matter uh tamper away I say it makes it more fun and more efficient frankly to get all the signings out in one shot as opposed to waiting and refreshing for days on end either way with the Raptors they were never going to be super heavy players at the top of this Market obviously mid-level exception or a giant chunk of the mid-level exception they have left to them at this point that’s you know kind of out there and they could throw it at somebody there’s still a couple of names out there Caleb Martin I think probably the biggest guy yet to sign in that sort of range um we’ll see if he ends up becoming some of the Raptors Target I also think the Caleb Martin thing is probably tied up with you know are the Kings going to trade for Brandon Ingram if they trade for Brandon Ingram where does Caleb Martin go if they don’t trade for Brandon Ingram is he a king’s guy all that type of stuff there’s all these dominoes still to fall um just not big sexy fun dominoes like we usually like in the off season so there’s that with the Raptors thing I I do think for me it probably suggests that they’re all right just kind of taking this team into the season for the most part we’ll see about Bruce Brown will’ll talk about that shortly but they seem like they’re not hard pressed to go and make this team as competitive as can possibly be which is a little disappointing to me um I I I do think there’s still a world in which they can be like reasonably competent that’s maybe not the highest bar of clear but I do think they’re A Cut Above your pistons and wizards and Blazers and probably the Jazz frankly of the world like going into next season and you know maybe they’re perfectly comfortable sort of being on the fringes of the playin conversation if they get in great if they don’t they can sort of you know read the room and in February March if things aren’t looking great they can sort of stealth tank into the sixth or seventh or eighth best odds in the lottery which is just as good a place to be frankly as the upper crust of the lottery with flattened Lottery odds and all of that that seems to be their intention here um you know plenty of opportunity to surprise and for internal development to carry them along but it does not seem like big-time free agent signings are going to go and be the way by which they go and improve things here um I’m curious in particular how it pertains to one position of course Gary Trent Jr shooting guard he’s a pending free agent it does not seem like he’s going to be back at this point um I’m not really sure where Gary Trent Jor is going to land it seems like there’s just no space left for anybody to go and step into any kind of money with any of these teams as the new CBA has stratified things and the rich get richer and the less Rich get poorer and all of that or this they’re not poorer they’re still very rich the less super they’re just less super rich but you catch mad drift um what so there’s Gary Trent Jr there’s of course the shooting guard position for the Raptors which I suppose is currently occupied by Bruce Brown who you would think at some point there still is going to be a trade for somewhere here uh then of course you’ve got Grady dick and Davon Mitchell and jacobe Walter kind of comprising the rest of the two guard core I guess RJ Barrett’s going to be a starting small forward on this team and they’re just going to roll with it and hope he can play defense I don’t know if I totally buy that um what do you make specifically of the shooting guard position here big v as it seems to be super loaded but also super inexperienced and uh sort of the reason the roster feels so out of whack and so imbalanced right now you would think they’re going to address that in some way shape or form here in the next little bit and I would imagine that there’s no way they bring Gary Trent Jr back to further complicate that position yeah I think this is one of the areas where if you look at negotiations coming back to the point I make about you know just being more hard ball about it and being able to just say hey we got to watch out for what the cap situation is and Bobby Webster kind of hinted at it when he was asked about Gary uh at the press conference and so I do think they’ve looked at the situation saying hey okay we’ve got jacobe Walter we’ve got Grady dick um we’ve got different versions of lineups that that we can throw out there uh maybe that’s one position more than any other that we just look at and say hey we’ll we’ll take our lumps here and we’ll try to see how far we can bring them along and and kind of put Kick the Can down the road in terms of making a long-term decision on that position and seeing if you know there there is some clarity that can be provided by uh dick and Walter uh and so I I think that seems where it’s headed right now uh and if you can get someone on that non- tax midlevel to come in and contribute obviously you pointed out Caleb Martin that’ be pretty pretty sweet but uh we’ll see if he’s enticed by a team that may be uh a bit higher up the pecking order uh right now and so yeah I I do think as things stand it’s leaning that way yeah dick and Walter sounds like two 75y old friends playing chess at the park love it yeah hey look at that we have breaking new Garrett Temple has agreed to a one-ear deal to return to the Toronto Raptors the coach is back baby the coach is back I don’t know if I have a take on that other than [Laughter] okay he he’s a shooting guard also uh so there’s that yeah just oops all shooting guards your 2024 25 Toronto Raptors um you need someone to play dad with all these kids that you do like I look everyone love gear Temple I have no problem with G temple being back did I think that was going to be the first signing of the off season for the Raptors uh didn’t have my money on that one but here we are did he not just have a job on the bench like lined up like have a coaching I guess the player gig probably pays a little bit more than uh yeah I’m actually cool with it give me Garrett Temple he’s fun I that’s that cool team dad I have no problem with that we’ll come back on the other side here big v um one veteran in the door we’ll see see if this is the Domino that begins a whole slew of dominoes falling for the Toronto Raptors maybe Bruce Brown’s been traded by the time we come back from break how’s that for a teas Today’s Show is brought to you by friends over at FanDuel and look it’s the summertime and like our pal big V said yeah your classic NBA and NHL are winding down there’s no NFL sports betting partner of Major League Baseball and the locked on podcast Network go check him out for those daily boosts All Summer Long back at it here here with our pal thec Jacob Big v as we continue to uh react to the bomb that is Garrett Temple coming back to the Toronto Raptors um throw me for a loop I didn’t have this in the rundown I what am I doing I got to do it on the fly now um Bruce Brown we’ll leave Garrett Temple for now we’ll do a full episode on Garrett Temple if things stay real quiet throughout the rest of the week um but Bruce Brown this is the next thing you would think for the Raptors to fall that said this could very well carry on to the season you know it seems like perhaps the Toronto Raptors have misgauged the market for Bruce Brown a tad uh it seemed like they did going into the trade deadline they couldn’t get themselves whatever it is they thought they could get themselves by having him on the team going into at the deadline so they keep him they bring him in they pick up his option and look just because a trade hasn’t materialized yet does not mean it cannot the moratorium ends on July the 6th all the signings and things happen kind of then in all the different orders of operations that each team needs to do it to make their cap compliant and so it’s very possible that enough dominoes fall in the next few days that a Bruce Brown trade becomes more possible and it happens between now and July the 6th if it doesn’t happen between now and then maybe it’s not going to happen until the season but where are you at with the Bruce Brown thing are you all right at this point with him coming into this the season on the team are there guys that you kind of have your eye on as potential targets for a Bruce Brown trade of course cam Johnson was mentioned in a report by Michael Scotto yesterday as someone the Raptors have an eye on um I think that’s kind of an interesting one it would probably take something to give up in addition to Bruce Brown to make it happen but maybe that’s worth it if the price is right um what’s your sort of read on the Bruce Brown situation and the sort of very very quiet state of the Bruce Brown trade Saga that seems to continue on yeah for me I think the main thing is when you look at the Scotty extension the quickly extension and how that’s going to impact the cap uh and you know the likes of Barrett and purle and whatnot being on the books uh you would like to use Bruce Brown in a trade that brings back I think a readymade contributor I think you’ve got a healthy dose of young guys you’ve got picks so many young guys but it’s added four of them yeah and and and you know you’ve kind of replenished that draft cabinet as well so uh I think the move with Bruce is to try and figure out you know is there that cam Johnson type of deal is there uh another you know again ready-made contributor someone who can be a member of the rotation right away potentially uh a starting role uh you know we talked about that shooting guard role earlier you know that because RJ is someone who can slide down to the two right and so then you just go a bit bigger and so I think that’s something uh you got to look at and so that’s where I’m at with Bruce Brown use him in a trade that gets you a ready-made contributor um and if he can’t if he can’t then you’ve misread what he can get you and that’s another L that you’re gonna have to eat from the last few years yeah for sure I I think you know I’ve been of the mind that it’s fine to bring Bruce Brown onto the team next season and just have him be a contributing piece but at this point with the roster being the way it is he’s a guard right like yes he can do some sort of forwarding and sometimes big-ish things but he’s six foot4 six foot five he’s a guard and if you have Emanuel quickley Davon Mitchell we’ll see about uh Jamal shed uh obviously Grady dick jacobe Walter um on Down the Line like oay abaji like there’s a million guards on this team Garrett Temple uh you have to like I think reallocate that Bruce brown spot and do a guy just gives you some balance and I think someone who gives you balance a proper fit at the three is also someone who kind of sets up the ecosystem for development a little more effectively as well right like I think if you have let’s say cam Johnson just for argument sake if Cam Johnson and his 40% three-point shooting and you know functional size as a wing and reasonable on ball defense are there for you that allows you to you know let Scotty Barnes play his typical position on defense where he can be the low man instead of forcing him to be your starting three and forcing him to take on those big assignments or RJ Barrett who’s also not very good with those big assignments not that cam Johnson would be great but a better option than taking Scotty out of POS out of his best position on defense or forcing RJ Barrett to do a thing he was not very good at last season it allows you to not force Grady dick into the starting lineup and just say hey like Grady you can come off the bench and take your take it at your time you and Jo Kobe Walter can do your two moving Shooters Thing Off the Bench thing and that’s going to be all fine it just it sets up a better ecosystem for development if you have a real credible spacing threat at the three um or you know that there’s other ways you can kind of bolster things too a real credible backup five for example would be a nice thing to bring in too I think those are the two things we’re all kind of looking at the Raptors needing right now um and so yeah at this point with the way the roster has been stacked it all suggest that they know a Bruce for a wing trade is coming at some point here but until it happens it hasn’t happened and the roster is still loaded up with two guards and so yeah I I think if it doesn’t happen at this point it is a mistake it is a failure of asset management and and you know foreseeing the market and seeing what you can get for a guy but that can change in a minute if they go and trade Bruce Brown for cam Johnson or DeAndre hunter or whomever over the course of the next little bit um do you have a favorite Target with the Bruce Brown contract and you know again you might have to add stuff to it like cam Johnson seems like someone you have to add at least add a little bit of pick sweetener maybe it’s like two or three seconds including that Blazers one from next year they got in the trade with the Kings maybe it’s a future first whatever it might be um are you comfortable with sort of giving up extra assets I know there’s lots of folks out there who love the Andrew Wiggins idea that maybe feels uh like I I find that to be very risky and not worth the extra pick that might come in from taking him on I think that contract is pretty damaging to your books and I just don’t know if I’m counting on an injur Wiggins bounceback at this point you know DeAndre Hunter’s out there there’s also the big man route we can talk about we can maybe get into that coming up in a second here but uh among the wing targets do you have like a favorite someone I haven’t mentioned here that you’d like to see the Raptors try to make something happen with with Bruce Brown going the other way yeah so no one really outside of the guys we’ve mentioned I know the last time we did an episode together I mentioned Naji Marshall but obviously he’s going to Dallas so I think uh slim pickings right now uh and then you know cam Johnson is someone I like so if there is potential there I would like to see that happen uh but yeah beyond that I I think it’s tough because you know you look at New Orleans having lost Naji Marshall they’re probably hanging on to Herb Jones and Trey Murphy pretty tight I mean they should they’re [Laughter] excellent so uh you know I I think if there was a window for that was probably last season um like early last season who knows um but yeah I think right now you’re in that situation where again you’re in that between that rock and that hard place where you got Bruce Brown thinking you could use him in another deal that didn’t happen before the trade dead line last season and now seems like you’re stuck in a similar boat um and again you know it’s like hey teams saying we’ll just sort out what we have to sort out right now we know this is a guy you want to move and so the deadline on this is probably February this is the thing is uh the whole world knows that the Raptors want to trade Bruce Brown so they’re bargaining position isn’t exactly uh fantastic either um there is a team that we talked about a little bit earlier that made a signing just as we came on air that I do want to maybe float an idea about and that is the Orlando Magic they now have a whole lot of centers uh is there one who’s getable we’ll get into that coming up in just one sec all right back at it here rounding it out with our palc Jacob from sportset and Raptors in seven uh talking bigs now um look there’s there’s free agent bigs left most of them are gone we’re basically down to James wisman Dominic Barlo who I’m actually kind of a weird uh it’s like one of my wor most toxic online basketball fan traits is I think Dominic Barlo rocks that be all in on the Raptors making a play for him uh to people who listen to this podcast know who Dominic Barlo is I would venture it’s like a 50-50 guess he’s like a 21y old big the Spurs just let go uh was very good in the g- league last season other than that it’s pretty slim pickings when it comes to the big Market um and so you’re maybe looking at trade and with Bruce Brown having a large contract we’ve thinking about the concept oh like Bruce has got to be traded for a like for like salary that’s why the DeAndre Hunter thing comes up or the cam Johnson thing or the Andrew wiggin’s thing um but you could also potentially trade him to a team that has a lot of cap space and you know take back a lesser salary in return and a couple of guys on the Orlando Magic come to mind would be Wendell Carter Jr and mo Vagner Mo Vagner just picked up uh the sorry the team just picked up the option they had for his last year of his contract can’t imagine he’s necessarily going anywhere because he’s Brothers with frond and all that stuff and he was very good for them last year but Wendell Carter Jr could just be getable he is kind of like cam Johnson of big men where he’s hurt a lot and misses a lot of time but when he’s playing he’s pretty effective and he shoots threes real nice and he makes some pretty reasonable amount just 10 point sorry 11.95 this coming season and then 10.85 the following year he’s on a declining contract descending contract whatever the nomenclature is in the cap whatever um he’s still only 25 years old going into this season I can’t believe he’s only 25 he’s been around forever but um Wendell Carter Jr I think might might be at this point like the best they could do for a Bruce Brown trade it like maybe it lines up there the magic still are kind of light on guard Talent Bruce Brown is someone who has helped good teams and played off of primary creators before and done quite well um maybe there’s something there uh thoughts on Wendell Carter or some of the other remaining bigs on the free agent Market of which again there are not a whole lot of yeah I think one Del Carter is like a nice player he’s probably a decent enough stop Gap option I wouldn’t see him as much of a long-term option um just because of his maybe like overall impact uh on the game uh and so yeah I think he’s a fine stop Gap option uh if we’re looking at free agents again it’s all stop Gap uh so h y seven you’re seven is an option Daniel Ty uh I think you know maybe if if you want to take someone if you’re going down this flyer route um maybe a chumo Kiki where you know obviously he’s a four but you know I think especially in those uh secondary lineups where Scotty plays the five you can have you know at least theoretically that guy who can space the floor um God this is so great chumo Kiki chumo Kiki massage Bob what have you done to us man but I think that’s a guy that you know has had some decent enough moments where uh if you know if you’re looking at this limited option uh maybe that’s someone you just take a bit of a flyer on oh God how far we’ve done G like we know what Daniel dice is we know what year seven is do we know what I guess we know what y seven is the one guy who stands out to me a man who played minutes in the NBA Finals jaier tman who are you gonna say J javil McGee I mean also did play minutes in NBA Finals but Xavier Tillman he’s there he’s very unsexy and undersized yeah Malik Williams bring him back uh so yeah no this is this is where we’re at but again this this all comes comes back to kind of feeling that crunch of hey okay so you’ve committed to these extensions so we know the flexibility isn’t there so this is kind of where you have to just uh be very creative uh in addressing the rest of the roster and improving uh the bench depth and you also really really are back in that zone of hey you need to hit on your draft picks you need to hit on your development and you kind of just need a repeat uh of you know you kind of need this era’s Fred and Pascal and norm and you know OG he’s he’s the answer he’s the future he’s gonna be the third best player on the team in uh a short amount of time um I’m not me saying anything like that’s a newsbreaker here right like that’s just gonna be the case with Toronto like it’s it has not proven to be a free agent destination and so this is if it’s not a trade you just have to hit on drafting and Dev in guys well yeah here’s the thing is like the free agencies basically I think Paul George I think I saw today Paul George is the first player to move teams on a max deal since 2019 like FR agency is not how you bring in M major Talent it’s trade and it’s the draft and I do think the drafter have proven themselves to be quite good at the trade part over the years um it’s just you know you got to wait for the right time for it to line up and maybe not in that spot right now and I don’t think they did themselves any favors by getting a crappy return for Pascal C aam and not you know yes they’ve replenished their draft covero and it’s slightly positive at this point but it’s not like they’re sitting on one of these hordes of a bunch of picks they can go and throw around willy-nilly for a Lowry marketing or something like that um frankly I think the creative thing here big V would have been to just decline Bruce Brown and create 20s something million dollars in cap space in a market right now where like role players getting like 10 million bucks are getting sub midlevel if you were to come in with a you know a $15 million offer for any of these sort of fringy mid-level guys you probably get them on your team and so maybe that would have been the better route here I do think there’s a bit of like a sunk cost element to the Bruce Brown thing where it’s like we’re hanging on to Bruce Brown to finally get that trade to complete the Pascal trade but it’s like the Pascal trade already sucks like you can’t unsuck that trade it’s terrible it’s a bad trade you can’t go back on it and so don’t compound your problems by uh refusing to sort of cut bait that’s not again they could trade Brown for cam Johnson tomorrow and I’d be totally happy and I think hey that’s great that’s perfectly fine but it’s still past trade would still sink stink like could still be bad um yeah it’s uh I guess where we sit right now been thinking about this a little bit but we’ll close it off with this I I’ll come back with the podcast on Tuesday um whenever something happens so keep an eye out there but we’ll close for now with this just gut feel you look at the roster the way it’s built where do they finish in the East next year uh probably 9th or 10th yeah the bottom of the East is gonna suck the Nets are going to be like those who like cam Johnson and his whole thing will enjoy watching the Nets they’re going to be an absolute disaster the bulls with Josh giddy as a lead guard I’m not super high on that whole experiment by any means I think they’re they might be pretty pretty bad um Hornets Wizards Pistons I think are all bad I know everyone’s like the Hornets though and it’s like yeah I believe when I see it it’s the Hornets have you seen the Hornets for the last 30 years of existence uh this is what the Hornets are and so yeah it gets they’re in the same mishmash of teams Bulls Hawks Nets Raptors Hornets Wizards Pistons are clearly the dregs of the Eastern Conference in some way shape or form maybe in different tiers of drg but yeah we got to see which way the Hawks go right do they kind of lean further into this okay got the assets back for deante let’s see what’s out there for Trey and then you know I doubt they’re trading Trey at this point honestly like it just seems to me like they roll in next year hope it works and then if it doesn’t then you trade try down on the line maybe he’s closer to the end of his contract he’s easier to move type of thing but that’s just kind of my read on them yeah I don’t know man this is I missed when the off season was fun and exciting and not just sort of full of yeah just a lot of for the from the Raptors from a lot of these teams frankly it’s been kind of a drag of the last couple days but um yeah man I guess we leave it there no other breaking news you know no other Garrett Temple takes we just kind of leave it there um no final news no anything you want to promote I I mean I did say I would give you the floor if the Raptors did nothing they did do something they brought back Garrett Temple but I did say I’d give you the floor on the internet earlier today to uh bask in the glob of India’s T20 World Cup Cricket win uh take 60 seconds my friend and promote some stuff and also talk about your your boys who won the the tournament yeah man it was just a crazy crazy final um I think if anyone was like looking to get into cricket and you watch that final like I think you would have been thoroughly captivated um feel for South Africa they’ve had so much heartbreak uh in cricket and so this this is another final that they should have won and it was definitely India kind of snatching Victory from the jaws of De defeat at one point um and ends a lot of heartbreak for us because we hadn’t won a major trophy since 2013 and we lost a bunch of semi-finals and lost a bunch of finals including one uh last year in November and so to get over the line in this one uh especially some uh huge Legends on their way out was an amazing amazing feeling and the way that game ended was just surreal like one of the best catches probably the best catch you’ll ever see in a final um I don’t know if you saw it on my Instagram story yet but that was just insane and so yeah memories memories uh winning memories are the best man throw it back to 2019 best catch ever seen a final was it Kawhi Leonard catching that pass from Danny Green that was almost over um right right up there yeah besides that you know uh getting back in the groove here uh doing stuff for sportset and uh I’ve got Raptors in seven back going strong and so if you haven’t had the chance to check it out you can check out the substack and you can get all your Raptors info straight into your inbox outside of when you’re listening to me on here everyone go do that uh can’t recommend it enough supporting all of big V and his many Works um of course we’ll be back again tomorrow hopefully with some stuff to talk about and if literally nothing happens maybe we take a day and let it simmer um it’s kind of in play it by ear mode a little bit with the Raptors and all that so and the offseason at at large I I don’t want to get in the habit of recording episodes that become instantly outdated um but yeah we’ll have your full coverage of all the stuff that needs covering of course here on your daily Toronto Raptors podcast um subscribe follow rate review apologies it was a bit of a a disjointed episode my brain is goo from looking at the internet for so many days in a row I’m sure you’re feeling the exact same way we’ll come back tomorrow probably another episode of lockdown Raptors please follow subscribe rate review tell a friend etc etc and we’ll talk to you then thanks for hanging bye bye I what I missed the I’ve screwed up the line I can’t get it back

In Episode 1669, Sean Woodley is joined by Vivek Jacob (Raptors in 7, Sports) to break down the Toronto Raptors very quiet start to NBA free agency and try to parse what it all means as it pertains to guys like Gary Trent Jr. and Bruce Brown as well as the Raptors’ intentions going into the new season. Off the top, Sean and Vivek dig into the lack of moves out of the gate as the free agent pool as quickly dried up, why Gary Trent Jr. is almost surely not coming back at this point, and the Toronto Raptors having roster comprised of 60% shooting guards. Next, Sean and Vivek get into Bruce Brown’s status as a trade chip and whether we will see the Raptors in fact full off a move involving Brown at any point this summer. Cam Johnson? DeAndre Hunter? Andrew Wiggins? Anyone???? Lastly, they take a look at a couple of potential big man targets in trade and free agency, and where they think the Raptors currently sit within the Eastern Conference hierarchy.

  1. Which teams have come up short in free agency or are heading for tank mode ( the Nets/Wizards/Hawks,etc)that the Raptors can make trades with.
