No One Realizes What The New York Knicks Are Doing..

the New York Knicks are doing exactly what the NBA feared and I honestly can’t believe they just pulled this off this team is Making Waves in the NBA with massive changes and bold moves there’s no answer for what they’re doing no one realizes what the New York Knicks are doing and that’s what we’re going to talk about in this video today we’re diving into the latest on Mel Bridges and its impact on the decisions surrounding OG and nuni and Isaiah hardenstein it’s clear to me that the Knicks wouldn’t have made this trade if they weren’t confident about resigning OG it simply wouldn’t make sense especially if they’re aiming to contend for a championship so I fully anticipate OG staying with the Knicks next season as multiple sources have confirmed this morning the big question now shifts to Isaiah hardenstein with the Knicks currently having $50 million in cap space and OG potentially commanding around $35 million that leaves roughly $15 million for hartenstein however it’s unlikely he’ll accept that considering you could fetch $20 to $25 million annually elsewhere contracts like Mel Bridges are rare in today’s NBA he’s earning $24 million per year a bargain when you factor in players like Brunson and bridges totaling $48 million annually it puts into perspective the market dynamics the Knicks do have some economical contracts including miles mcbrides and Julius randle’s extension is on the horizon but overall the Nyx roster remains fluid and not yet set in stone I expect OG to return but now the Knicks hold the 24th and 25th overall picks in tonight’s draft my inclination is that the Knicks will likely use both picks or perhaps they’ll aim to acquire an additional second round pick they currently possess the 38th overall pick which is more cost effective than first round picks the Knicks need to maximize their roster spots economically while also prioritizing players they believe can develop for the future it’s worth noting that the Knicks traded away a significant portion of their future assets including five firstr picks for unprotected and one protected a pick swap unprotected and a second round pick in their pursuit of Mel Bridges whom they hope will Elevate their team I find it unfair when critics dismiss Bridges because he’s not an All-Star his value as an elite level role player extends Beyond individual accolades his chemistry with Brunson Hart and dant chenzo along with his defensive PR and shooting ability make him a formidable addition considering Bridges impact and potential lineup additions like OG Randall Brunson dant chenzo Hart McBride and others the Knicks who won 50 games last season could significantly improve however uncertainties remain about the final roster composition restricted free agents like Precious aowa and unrestricted ones like Alec Burke’s complicate matters Mitchell Robinson’s status on the trade BL block contrasts with Haren Stein’s likely departure raising questions about the team’s front Court strategy Jericho Sims contract decision adds to the roster complexity if Mitchell Robinson Remains the starting center drafting a backup bid could be essential alternatively recent reports suggest the Knicks might pursue Andre Drummond known for his rebounding ability and fitting character which could further bolster their lineup Dynamics personally I have concerns about relying solely on Mitchell Robinson and a rookie big man Mitchell’s durability issues worry me and I’ve discussed this on the channel before it’s not a personal attack on him rather it’s about his consistency and Readiness when he’s focused he can challenge even Elite centers like Joel embiid which shows his potential however injuries and occasional lapses in concentration are significant concerns in my view Isaiah hardenstein might be a better fit if Mitchell does return bringing in a veteran big like Drummond alongside him could provide crucial depth depending on a young rookie aged 19 or 20 to handle the center position for a championship contending team like ours especially against tough competition like the Celtics seems unrealistic Switching gears Mel Bridges brings another dimension looking back to the 2022 season not 2023 he averaged 26 points on 60.7% true shooting after the trade deadline a clear Improvement while he’s not averaging 26 point points now he’s enhanced his ball handling and playmaking skills as our likely third option behind Brunson and Randall Bridges at scoring around 20 points per game dribble shooting ability and a different offensive Dynamic compared to OG while OG excels defensively Bridges offers Superior shooting and defensive versatility which complements our team strategy I completely understand the concern some Nicks fans may have regarding the financial commitment of $35 to $40 million annually to OG especially given his injury history he hasn’t played a full 70 Game season since his rookie year back in 2017 to 2018 it’s a valid point to consider but OG’s defensive abilities are pivotal to our Ambitions of contending for a championship his skill set particularly in defending players like Tatum and Brown from teams like the Boston Celtics is crucial without OG or a similar defensive stalwart our path to competing at the highest level could f significant challenges of course contingency plans are essential and we must be prepared to adjust our strategy if necessary however maintaining strong team chemistry is also Paramount this is where Mel Bridges comes into play as an excellent fit for our team his presence not only enhances our defensive cohesion but also brings durability and reliability to the roster since entering the league is the 10th overall pick in 2018 just after our own draft pick that year Kevin knocks his draft Bridges has never missed a game his consistency on the court and defensive prowess make him a valuable asset that aligns well with our team’s needs and Ambitions all right we’re currently about 6 minutes and 30 seconds into this video and while I was considering wrapping up there’s so much more to unpack especially regarding the draft picks we’ve acquired through recent trades tonight we’re holding some pivotal selections the 24th and 25th picks alongside the 38th overall all pick now I can assure you none of us Nicks fans are seriously contemplating using the 38th pick on bronny James though it’s fun to entertain the idea looking ahead let’s break down our future draft assets 2025 we’ve secured a first round pick from Detroit top 13 protected and another from Washington top 10 protected along with second round picks from Brooklyn and Detroit top 55 protected 2026 our own first round pick is in play play along with second round picks from Minnesota and Brooklyn 2027 we currently hold a second round pick 2028 there’s a first round pick with Brooklyn having the right to swap and a second round pick from either Indiana or Phoenix 20129 we’ve secured a second round pick from either Indiana or Washington 2030 and this year we’ll have a first round pick and a second round pick 2031 we’re looking at a second round pick while we’re anticipating a gap happen first round picks for 2027 2029 and 2031 our current Core group is solidifying its foundation players like Bridges Brunson Devan chenzo Hart and Randall are all entering their late 20s either in or approaching their prime years Mitchell Robinson at 26 is on the cusp of his prime as well this experienced core is complemented by promising young talents such as McBride Sims potential rookies from tonight’s draft and a Kyle should he decide to rejoin us enhancing our roster depth and Longevity with this blend of seasoned veterans and budding Stars the Knicks are well positioned for a bright and prosperous future on the court
