who would leave also the Spurs are interested so who has a better option for the Jazz to be able to trade with I’m wearing my hat right here our last championship the first day after knowing Clay is officially free agent not with the team anymore and just paying my respect to these boys because this is the last time we may see these three people together they’re in their 2122 hat I’m in mine it’s been kind of a sad day going around talking to people Warriors fans it’s been a tough 24 hours knowing clay has been with us gone but you got to move forward that’s the business and that’s why today three four all right let’s get into it Lori marinan the Spurs and the Warriors are among the team showing interest in training for Lori Markin in rival Executives believe there’s a good chance Jazz actually move him big man for the Jazz he’s on the last year of his contract they’re trying to extend end him so just what happened with Clay last year contract no extension happened he’s walking for free and free agency unless we make a Simon trade so potentially uh if Jazz can’t do that they trade him this year knowing that he may not walk uh for free next year Tim bonts ESPN reporter mentions that Danny a doesn’t lose trade so if the teams want to trade with the Jazz they’ll have to pay the right price Rudy goar going to Minnesota four five first round picks something like that couple of the draft things he did in Boston big three getting broken up what he got from the Jazz for Kevin Garnett Paul Pierce became Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown dude knows how to win a trade the team they mentioned the most is the Spurs they have plenty of players and some draft Capital but also the Warriors marinan is coming off a stellar season where he averaged 23 points eight rebounds on fire from the field shooting 4% overall 40% from three 90% from the free throw line he was so close to being a 50 40 90 player was off percentage points and he’s tall he’s like 7 foot I want to say around there give or take an inch you can come in and be a stretch five stretch four right now the starting lineup cuz Clay’s gone CP3 is gone Steph Brandon kaminga Dre tjd Looney is in the backup there Wiggins in the backup there you’re bring in Markin instantly probably becomes your five or plays Four you move Dre to five he’s done that a bunch but again not that kind of Rim Defender person but this is a stretch five marinan is basically who Quinton post is who we just drafted he’s just like him except obviously a developed NBA player so if post can become anything like Lori is this will be a big gift for us but right now we’re focusing on Lori as I mentioned his contract is set to expire after the upcoming season with a modest salary of just $18 million this makes him an attractive trade Target and what is clay looking for 20 to 30 closer to that 30 range so potentially we can do signon trade a Lori for clay is not going to be the trade there’s going to have to be more players involved and it’s going have to be for clay doing like four years so they want him three or four years but also know this the sign trade for clay clay has to sign off he’s a free agent does clay want to go play in Utah a team that did not make the playoffs last year probably not fely just signed pg3 to a massive deal they signed some other players they’re probably off the board for clay they don’t have as much cap space anymore Orlando got kcp I think it was 3 years 66 million 22 per year they’re probably off the board now so it looks like the Lakers the Clippers or Dallas Dallas is still the favorite they have some room they need to make um they have some room they need to do one trade to make it happen to give him the mid level exception there still only 12 million which is half of what the Warriors provided him Lakers would need to probably do a signning trade as well ruy coming back to West would be a nice addition nice role player people said DLo don’t want him but it could be in terms of money and Clippers Derrick Jones Jr left Dallas went there so a lot of the money that opened up because of Paul George is going to him so wind dwindling or maybe there’s a team we haven’t heard yet about clay the Simon trade for Markin uh for clay and part of it probably not happening I don’t see clay wanted to play in Utah so let’s take a look at the salary who could be again look at what the salary is Clay’s gone CP3 is gone you think Lori is going to put the same position as Looney so Looney’s $8 million potentially gp2 that puts you at 17 million maybe it’s Looney and Moody 13 million you have to do a couple other players to make that happen and they’re going to win some draft picks probably a first or second round definitely first round probably two first round picks if the Pelicans got that from Murray that I would think he would be the same we look at the spur Squad they have plenty of space here to be able to go do it I mean they have too many players they need to start getting some players away honestly but looking at who they may want Kelvin Johnson small forward is a upcoming Prospect he could be good fit for the Jazz they’re not going to trade Victor of course I mean really else out there like in terms of salary’ be a lot of people like Trey Jones could be a nice piece and CD o Oman that could work but again not the same players so they don’t really have the big man per se to make it work but they have players in shooting guard positions who can make that work we look at the Jazz roster they have Lori Markin at a small forward here he’s not playing small forward for US unless you push kaminga the two Steph at one Lor’s three Trace Jackson Davis five Draymond four which you could tell potentially do Lori seven-footer at at your small forward position be pretty good now they could use Colin SE a dog he’s a good player but again they have some players around the guard position where they could use some enhancement on the shooting so it’s a tough conversation like who would you get from Markin potentially Wiggins could be a part of that as well in that trade I didn’t mention him I said Looney just because of position but Wiggins is owed if we go to his contract really quick Wiggins is owed $26 million so that means Utah would have to throw someone in to make that work because it’s too much money we’re at the second apron in terms of what we’re allowed to hit for salary right now we’re basically at 144 because Chris Paul’s gone in that range but we can’t go over the 189 just as a friendly reminder if you’ve been on this channel a lot you know and you know as well that Clay is basically gone but we’re still wearing this hat because we love clay I will respect him whatever decision he did what he provided the team it’s a business and this is what happens in business sometimes it doesn’t work out but at the end of the day clay wants a warrior will always be a warrior I think if we can get Lori that’s a great pickup for us he can shoot he’ll spread the four he’ll be a rim protector in some scenarios he’ll be able to guard more positions he’ll give us a second scorer around Steph think of like Brandon Ingram if you know him obviously with the Pelicans Lori is very similar as as well known being in Utah that type of player a KD type where he’s a a stretch player plays more Above the Rim and excuse me uh above
