Pacers sign JAMES WISEMAN REACTION
so the Indiana Pacers have just picked up James wisman and this might be the perfect fit for him James wisman obviously was the number two overall pick from the Warriors not that long ago in 2020 and he just has not lived up to anything close to the expectations but even in his rookie year there were flashes of a guy that a lot of people thought could be a star in this league it’s not like some guys get drafted super high and then they get to the NBA and everybody’s just like why was this guy ever drafted High because you don’t really see anything in him you know there’s been guys in the past that I’ve kind of felt that way about whether’s like Dragon Bender Josh Jackson there’s a few of those guys but James wisman clearly has it in there somewhere but it is it is what you would call unta potential because he hasn’t been able to use it and I think a lot in large part with the Warriors why he just struggled so much was that was a team that after that first year was reallying to win and they play a a style that is particularly hard for young guys to fit into you’ve even seen it with kaminga in the last few years especially a guy who’s built off of athleticism and instincts when you have a system that’s based off of uh quick decision making and setting up Steph Curry being ready to set off ball screens know where to knowing where to be um looking for dribble handoff opportunities top of the key quick passes looking for the guys that are cutting off screens all that type of stuff it’s a lot of thinking for a young guy that’s just trying to go in and play off of instincts and rather than having to play off instincts with the Warriors he had to do like I said a lot of thinking and about what was supposed to happen within the system and then he went to the Pistons a team that was a mess but also had other big men so it wasn’t really given full opportunity and a team without a ton of shooting so we didn’t have a lot of spacing not a perfect fit and you know didn’t really do great there either but now I think this is a perfect fit for him if he wants if there’s anything any chance he could become anything close to the player he was expected to be because we kind of saw a little bit of that happen with jayen Smith jayen Smith was basically just tossed out by the Suns after being the sixth overall pick from them because he showed little to nothing in the three years he was there um Jen Smith who just signed a $27 million deal in free agency he spent three years in Phoenix and he averaged two points then nine points on a bad Phoenix team and then six points so he had done little to nothing and he shot 46% from the field in his last year there 23% from three and then he goes to Indiana and immediately averages over 13 a game and go shoots 37% from three and that’s I think especially now with the system the Pacers are playing with Rick carile it could be perfect for James wisman because it’s a system that is pretty like nonr restrictive it’s pretty much everybody can get loose we’re playing Super Quick we might make mistakes but we’re getting shots up and everybody is attacking at all at all times and I think that is a perfect fit for James wisman a guy that could be spacing out knocking down a three hopefully for the Pacers but also should be able to get some easy looks set up to him um from halber in and just the fact that they have all these guys that are willing to attack and play quick so I think that’s perfect for James wisman who’s an athlete who’s based off of instincts and defensively there’s not necessarily the expectation of being perfect with the Pacers defense but if you could just make some uh transition stops if you could help protect the rim and other guys get blown by then he could have some success there so I think the Pacers are a much better fit for him than he’s had in the past so if he still has a chance to be very good in the NBA it would be right here backing up Miles Turner and filling that jayen Smith role and he’s a player that is fairly similar to um jayen Smith as well so this is a very good signing for the Pacers another um kind of project that they were able to have success with with Jaylen Smith and um it’s a low lowrisk uh pickup too because they’re not going to be relying on him worse comes to worse you still have Miles Turner and then you have Obi toppen who could play some stretch big you have I believe they still have Isaiah Jackson there so they have other options uh in case he doesn’t work out but I really hope he does I hope he could give them a really good 15 to 20 minutes off the bench and and a spacing um non not really complicated offense kind of unrestrictive off offense I think there is a chance that he could uh unlock some things this season I really hope to see it I’m rooting for it but let me know what y’all think do y’all think that he could take off of the Pacers drop a comment hit that like And subscribe please yes sir

Can he fulfill his potential in Indiana?
Wiseman on his 3rd team already. He should be motivated to make it work or he may not get another chance. Love the Pacers taking a chance on his potential. They face the possibility of losing Myles after this season in free agency. Wiseman could find a home in Indiana if he plays well.
This is a steel he’s in the perfect environment
If he can’t work here it’s over for him
Let's go wiseman
How he gets playing time is a huge question? Isaiah Jackson played Jalen Smith on to the bench during the playoffs. Toppin, Siakam and Walker could play small ball five.
Pacers front office lowkey god tier these last few seasons.
Why did we sign this bum? We're always getting bust and washed up players. I miss Jalen Smith.
