Just get DFS give the nets the thunder frp, some seconds and Paul reed. If they reject just do what politics have done threaten them

waiving would be dumb imo, especially with tnhe draft capital we have. Would rather see us get a quality starter by attaching a first round pick to Reed than just waiving him outright.

I don’t know all of the cap rules or what’s going on behind the scenes, but it would be a major dick move to have Paul Reed unable to seek employment during the first few days of free agency, and then let him go afterwards once most teams have already spent their money.

To me, that’s the kind of thing that should earn Morey a bad reputation.

Traded, he’s likely to be traded not waived

Why not just trade him and avoid the cap penalties?

  6. What’s stopping Paul Reed from being a serviceable PF?

  7. I can see the Sixers getting DFS, but I don’t think they’re going to give up any valuable draft picks – I’d be surprised if they give up *any* firsts for him.

Also wouldn’t be surprised if they make additional moves during the season and I say that because Morey has been vocal about not *needing* to make all their moves during the off-season.

I can see them bring in DFS and KJ Martin, and leave their options open for a potential trade during the season.

Will always remember enjoying his growth as a player. He’s a bit too much of a tweener, if he were a little better at rebounding or shooting he’d actually probably be starting caliber.

  9. I don’t understand why we don’t try starting him at the 4 next to Embiid. He can theoretically shoot, rebounds very well, and can be a good switchable defender. Sure he got bodies in the playoffs but that was a uniquely bad matchup for him and he played pretty much exclusively the 5. I think he is a much more natural 4 who could complement Embiid.

  10. If he’s waived, we would have ~$10m in cap space. If he is traded, we could take back up to $15m in salary.

Some trade packages that might be interesting; Reggie Jackson + Cody Martin from the Hornets (~13m in salary), Jordan Clarkson from the Jazz (~14m in salary), and the one everyone is talking about, Dorian Finney-Smith from the Nets (~15m in salary)
