Terry was always a good coach. I think his time ran up in Portland but that was due to flawed roster construction. I think he’ll find success and be a head coach again soon.
This has to be a setup for changing of the head coaching staff right? Steve Kerr probably wants to take a break once Steph retires or perhaps he goes to San Antonio and coaches Wemby after Pop retires. My guess is Terry will want to stay as lead assistant and Jerry Stackhouse will take the head coaching role if he wants it.
