Clearly that never ended up happening, but interesting none the less the ripple effect that could have had on the league.

Man, replacing Dillon Brooks with Draymond would have secured the public’s bad will towards the Grizzlies.

  2. rumblegod

wish players would talk about more stuff like this

  3. huge what-if for this past season if Draymond goes to Memphis:

    – do the Grizzlies still do the Smart trade?
    – after the Clippers back out of Brogdon, does the Porzingis trade to the Celtics just not happen?
    – do the Celtics still trade for Jrue Holiday with Smart + Derrick White still on the team?

  4. OneOfPDiddysVictims

He wants to be the bad boy pistons so bad

  5. Insufferable-Asshat

Y’all think dray would get more than klay in free agency

  6. AntSmith777

Kind of reminds me of when guys like Zion and Paolo declare for the NBA draft and say that they told their coach they were coming back to school and the coach told them they’re crazy there no way I’m letting you do that.

  7. JShuttlesworth28

I’m not hating the idea now of him being on the team because I’m still not sold on Edey and wanted to trade the pick to begin with.

  8. muddyklux

We’re the Grizzlies. They’d call all those illegal screens on us

  9. Only Dray could make Klay leaving about himself.

  10. Main_Extension_3239

Last summer I heard Rich Paul say he had to repeatedly convince Draymond that he should stay with the Warriors. He obviously was smart enough to not mention any other teams involved.

  11. I had a little head canon about that dumbass car commercial of him and the wolf or whatever, and at the end, he says, “Don’t forget the Grizzlies.” I convinced myself that meant he wanted to play for the grizzlies some day. I may be wrong, but to know it was possible gives me confirmation bias that I’m a genius

  12. Punjabiveer30

Bro Draymond replacing Dillon brooks would have been peak draymond trolling after the whole “their dynasty starts after you”

  13. CabbageStockExchange

It was sealed in his heart when he started dancing to Whoop that Trick

  14. analytics_Gnome

draymond is a dream fit for grizzles though, both in their basketball and violence culture

  15. RVAIsTheGreatest

Draymond and the Dubs figured it out. That process was not the smoothest sailing and now we know how close Dray came to leaving but they figured it out. However it never really seemed at any point Klay and the Dubs were on the same page—what’s the difference? I think it’s more that Klay didn’t feel the love anymore in San Fran….

  16. He would have been be a perfect role model for Ja Morant

  17. In other words. When media sniffs out a rumor and players deny….they probably lying.

  18. TitanTigers

Holy fuck I would have absolutely hated that. It doesn’t really even make sense

  19. connie-lingus38

I don’t believe him, Draymond just wants attention. Also the Grizzles and GSW were having a beef during that time period so of course this would be like the biggest betrayal he could. make.

How much money did they offer him notice he doesn’t include that because it’s fucking fake

  20. Draymon helped the Celtics win a championship 🏆

  21. notprodigy

At what point did someone in the Memphis front office point at Dillon Brooks and say “we have a guy who gets stupid techs at home!”

  22. Nonetheless is one word.

I know this simply for how peculiar it is… I don’t know almost anything else about my own damn language. 🤣

  23. randomusername8008

F.. so had dray left then warriors woulda kept Klay. Blame draymond for dismantling the splash bros

  24. piececurvesleft

Warriors should’ve broke up the band after the ‘22 chip

  25. ChaosWarrior95

So that’s why he said, “Don’t forget about the grizzlies,” in that one commercial.

  26. Shaqtacious

So he could’ve gone there and Celtics would’ve never won this ring. Fuck you Draymond. Sincerely, fuck you 😂

  27. ProfessionalFly9848

that car commercial makes way more sense now

  28. ilikesupreme

His car commercial has a deeper meaning now

  29. LoWE11053211

It is a bit hard to believe

    But if that is true

Grizzlies could be a huge threat in the west this year

And did draymond actually help the Cs to get Jrue by not going to Memphis?

  30. herseyhawkins33

And yet he didn’t. The Danny ainge of podcasters.

  31. recleaguesuperhero

Wild that Dray outlived Klay on the Warriors.

  32. TheHemskyShow

Draymond saw all of the controversy around Ja and immediately thought of the insider scoops he could cover on his stupid podcast.

  33. He should’ve. He could’ve shown the world what he’d be if he didn’t get drafted onto a team with multiple HOFers….and that’s irrelevant.

  34. purplebrown_updown

Do you think the Warriors are going to fall apart? Damn it.

  35. LothCatPerson

Buuuuuuuulllllllll shit. No fucking way his petty ass was gonna go to Memphis. Draymond really isn’t a convincing liar.

  36. astarisaslave

Could you imagine Draymond and Marcus Smart on the same team
