I know what I’m doing during work tomorrow
I’ve watched Rob play basketball the majority of my life because I know his family. He is a true point guard and it was surprising to see him score so much. Kansas, Duke and UNC wanted him to start but he embraced his role at Kentucky. He plays defense and he’s always played basketball in a structured system when he was coming up until he left Combine Academy. However people who never heard of him only go by what he did at Donda and OTE. (He only went there to get some exposure) He played on a top ranked AAU team for 7 years and nobody paid him no attention despite winning a National Championship and always finishing in the final 4 or runner up. Also Cal never really had a set game plan on defense at Kentucky and it was hard for players to know where they were supposed to be. Which is why he struggled at times I guess. But I wouldn’t over analyze his game because many NBA players and coaches have had their eyes on him since he was 8.
He is a sponge and likes learning and improving his game. Takes command of the court and loves getting his teammates involved. Honestly this team is almost a perfect situation and being around a guy like Mike Conley will help his transition. He was coached by Jeff McGinnis and Chris Paul in high school so I believe he will prove a lot of people wrong.
Do not over analyze what you see. The players and his peers know he is a difference maker
