“You know what, I’ll actually go ahead and take all of that money.”

I’m gonna guess this is last 2 years of LeBron and then he retires at 42

Gonna cherish it, wish he was competing but he had a good run

  3. SlatsAttack

That’s the equivalent of two Tobias Harris’!

  4. AirJordan6124

This is the kind of contract Jimmy Butler wants right

  5. LazyTitan___

Whoever the Lakers sign now know they weren’t worth a pay cut

  6. Kwilly462

Yeah, these will be the last two years of his career

  7. I guess the Lakers didn’t do enough for that pay cut lol

(I secretly wished the Bucks, Giannis, Dame & Khris would renegotiate to make some room for changes. Wishful thinking)

So you’re telling me they hired his coach and his son and he only gave them a year guaranteed?

  9. rattatatouille

They struck out on all their FA/trade targets so plan B it is then.

July: “Draft my overrated son, use all the cap space on me”

January: *vague comment after a bad loss to charlotte about how the team and/or FO are letting him down*

    The Circle of Lebron

Guy was willing to take a pay cut and no one cared lol

Watch out JJ Reddick, you got 2 years to make the finals or you’re fired

  13. exactlyaron

Media: “LeBron going to take a cut to help team, Valančiūnas, Klay all targets”

    LeBron: “Pay me my money!”

  14. 2blessed2be

Year 1: compete for play in spot

    Year 2: farewell tour

  15. Joed112784

LeBron, the lakers would literally commit seppuku for you, you don’t need a no trade clause 😂

Nepotism is getting outta hand in the NBA, I mean this Bronny James kid was drafted less than a week ago and they’re already going and signing this kids dad to a contract? Where’s the integrity man.

  17. Notice theres no agent shout out from either Shams or Woj on this one

  18. Kennenzulernen13

Surprised they needed him now that they have Bronny.

  19. char_les28

100 Million to play with my son? Sure , fuck it, what else I got going on?

  20. Rare-Profile6867

Dudes a billionaire and if he actually wanted a championship level team he would sign for 10 mil.

Brilliant businessman getting his son into the league and leveraging himself to be the owner of the new Vegas team which will most likely have Bronny on its roster

  21. Darkmoonstriker

Lebron and Bronny will retire together in 2yrs

  22. xGhastlyMarr

Bro threw Pelinka a lob but the mf Courtney Lee’d it

Billionaire refuses to take pay cut to improve chances of team success. A tale as old as time.

  24. bitofadikdik

“Cant cut my kid if he’s never away from my side.”

  25. recleaguesuperhero

I’m actually impressed with how bad the Lakers are at free agency.

You have the league’s most famous franchise and player and can’t sign anyone.

Also, crazy to think he’s still making more money than Russ, Harden, and CP3 combined.

  26. Shauerkraut

Well, he has officially given up any attempt to surpass Michael Jordan. RIP to his legacy

  27. “Hey Rob. Sorry to bug you. I’m was actually thinking I’ll take $50 million. Thanks”

Yeah, this offseason just further confirms the dude doesn’t prioritize winning in the latter part of his career.

He chose LAL to be a celebrity and propel the next phase of his life, but signed with one of the worst-managed teams in the league and compounded this by pushing for incredibly head-scratching roster moves over a strong, balanced roster. 2020 was an outlier and we now have 5 other seasons of fringe-playoff outcomes to reinforce that…

Top 2 player all time, but really mailed it in after Cleveland. Imagine if he had chosen a contender in 2019 – teams that make smart roster moves every offseason to maximize their aging talent? GS, LAC, Miami, etc… Would be sooo much more interesting to follow the guy as a basketball player…

Imagine being one of the premier franchises of the nba and getting bossed around by a player. Not a good look
