I’m starting to feel this is a bit of a Trey Lance situation. The writing was on the wall the despite being a highly invested draft pick, Lance could not get on the field for meaningful minutes. The Niners sub bemoaned, in a very similar fashion, “wHy CaNt He GeT mInUtEs!!” as if the coaching staff was intentionally trying to mess with his career or something. Spoiler alert – they want to win too. Steve Kerr isn’t out here throwing games by playing worse players he thinks won’t win. People like Ty Jerome got minutes over someone like Moody for.a.reason.
Moody has shown flashes, but hasn’t even come close to putting together an entire game of consistency. If he had performed better in practice….we would have seen him get more minutes. If he had performed better in practice….do you think they would have signed Hield and Melton?
I’m all for playing him more to see what he’s really got, but I think at this point the writing is on the wall for Moses Moody. I would love to be wrong.
