what’s going on everyone so the San Antonio Spurs are having themselves quite the off season right first off Victor wanyama had an incredible season and it was like okay what are you going to get for his running mate who are you going to get in this year’s draft at the fourth and the eighth pick they ended up taking the eighth pick trading it for future first uh to possibly make some type of move some type of impact trade uh which they are putting all their chips in for Lori marinin touch on that here in a moment but they ended up with the fourth pick drafting Stefan Castle which I was really excited he was the guy that I was really hoping that the Spurs would land the Spurs would end up drafting I mean I was making videos months ago um about Stefan Castle being the pick for the Spurs ultimately he ends up getting taken they didn’t stop there right they follow that up by signing Chris Paul which I thought was a huge pickup for them uh his veteran his leadership uh his commitment to winning his just Being the adult in the room as well as his ability to really develop and Mentor these young guys we’ve seen like what he’s been able to do with like you know sgaa and SGA to this day talks so highly about his time with Chris Paul and that he still talks to Chris Paul picks his brain and all that stuff so it was like cool you got and bringing in an adult in the room not just that but Chris Paul is a real true playmaker that is really going to get these guys a well oiled machine he’s going to make things so easy for all of these players uh especially Victor wiama so it was like man got a great draft pick got some future picks right they I even like their second round picks uh but yeah you did a great job with the draft and immediately jump into free agency and you land what I think is the perfect free agent for the San Antonio Spurs Spurs more likely than not right unless some crazy things start happening more likely not are winning are not winning an NBA championship right so it doesn’t hurt to bring in a guy like Chris Paul and let him kind of be an extension of uh papovich and allow him to kind of Mentor guys that’s huge but they’re not stopping there they are heavily pursuing and have based on reports submitted an offer for Lori Markin they have are and are one of several teams by the way that are trying to land Lori marketing Lori mark would be wonderful to land with the San Antonio Spurs him being a threat off ball and not needing the ball in his hands he’s a guy that’s going to really be maximized alongside Victor wanyama as well as in particular Chris Paul like Chris Paul being able to just basically kick out to either Victor whama or Lori Markin and two SF footer plus that can knock down the three ball I mean the the type of offensive schemes and actions you can run are I just I am so excited to see the Spurs offense this year if they were to gland Lori marinin but Lori marinin would also kind of signal a bit of an expedite on trying to upgrade this roster and you know the beauty of Lori marinin and the beauty of Victor wiama is that they both have the ability yes to step out and stretch the floor but they’re also both seven-footers that you can slot at either the four Lor mark and you probably don’t want to play at the five very much but he’s still seven feet in a pinch you could if you needed to um but more so the four or the three where Victor you can slot him at the five or the four so to get that versatility from two big men is very important and very impactful right and that’s not counting everything else that Lorie marinin does I mean the the attention that he draws will just take so much pressure off of Victor off of Chris Paul off of Vel off of Castle right and you really start looking at this roster and it’s like okay so for now the idea appears to be that Stefan Castle is probably shifting over and is going to be the point guard right he is going to be the point guard you got the perfect mentor to kind of help shape and mold him as the point guard so got your point guard locked up and ston Castle you have your two guard right now locked up in uh you know of a cell right and then you have essentially your Center or power forward but let’s just say center for the moment right boom Victor wh you have Chris Paul whether he can start come off the bench however you want to shape it let’s say you go and trade for Lori marketing boom okay perfect now you got somebody that could slot alongside Victor wh or you could slot him at the three and then you could go with like a soan at at the power forward alongside Victor or what if you get a third team and you make and kind of push your chips in more but still maintaining that youth that upside and that balance and go after a guy and window Carter if you can land window Carter Jr to me that’d be a no-brainer right in the Orlando Magic they just resign Mo Wagner they are flushed with bigman so somebody’s probably on their way out and so if you’re the Spurs can you go and get them can you go and convince them to trade you window Carter Jr because again they have Jonathan Isaac you know like I said they just got mo mo Vagner um W Carter Jr could end up being kind of the odd man out and he is very versatile very talented you can put him at the four play him at the five if you need to so to me what I Envision is you work out this three team deal to where you know maybe cuz like what is Utah going to want from the Spurs other than picks right like and you’re probably shipping out uh Johnson right like he’s probably getting shipped out in in any type of trade that to get a market in or anything like that so to me can you take Kellin Johnson maybe see if Orlando wants them you can ship them to Orlando you have a team in the Utah Jazz that can basically just absorb contracts if they need whatever you want to do however you want to work it uh and work it out to where everybody’s happy everyone gets pieces you know maybe you’re sending a first to Orlando in exchange although I think Kellin Johnson if they’re willing to take Kell Johnson that he could be a piece that they could really use Off the Bench um cuz they also got to kind of rework and figure out what they’re going to do um from from the guard standpoint and stuff uh but regardless however it shapes up or you could even just do a straightup trade either way but to me if you get Lori Markin in it signals you got to get another piece right because again Chris Paul Victor wanyama Lori Markin in with uh Vel would be great right and you still have Stefan Castle but how good is Stefan going to be right out the gate is a real question but even then he’s a piece for now in the future and what do you do Post Chris Paul if you get a guy like a window Carter right he’s a guy that he’s what 25 and so now you could have for the moment if you wanted to if you wanted to start Chris Paul you could go Chris Paul vasel uh Lori marinan W Carter Jr and Victor wiama and you have basically three big men you got great size you got great versatility you got five guys that could just put the ball on the hoop you got switchability and and defense right I just I think you’d be such a nice little balance window Carter shouldn’t cost the farm so it shouldn’t disrupt any plans or future plans that you have you get a guy that you know can start in a pinch or you can bring them off the bench if you want to right if you let’s say you don’t want to bring say castle Off the Bench year one right you want him right out the gate starting okay well then you can bring window Carter Jr Off the Bench for the year and then once Chris Paul departs boom Castle he slides over to the one wend Carter Jr slides over to the four you got Victor at the five you got Markin in at the three and then when while you know the starting five with Castle is in there boom Markin in just slides over to the four so you’re playing Markin in at the four playing Victor at the five got Vel or castle at the three and then the other at the two and then Chris Paul at the point I really like the idea of them going after and trying to get W Carter Jr and again it’s about like what’s realistic what’s available what isn’t what is going to create that upside and potential which I think he definitely has that and even if he doesn’t even if you do get a better four or something later on at some point right he’s a guy that you can still have be a key piece Off the Bench or be in the rotation or you know end up being a trade chip at some point so to me it’s like if you can essentially get these three bigs and have them and their versatility and their ability to basically slot multiple positions right like I said all three of these guys you can play at two or more positions and you have just that length and I mean good luck trying to score especially on the interior with three I think W Carter is what he’s like 610 611 so not quite but I mean still that size that length that wingspan I it just you already see the struggles teams have with Victor imagine having a Windle and you know a Lori Markin in out there and then they just their ability to defend out on the perimeter and switch I just I just like the versatility that these three would bring with vasel with Castle so now you have you know Castle who can be a point of attack uh Defender and and be the hustle player and the hard worker and that grit and grind type guy who can also make plays and go get you 20 on any given night again assuming that he gets to that point right and then you have Vel who can come in and again light it up go get you 20 plus a night the defense is a little questionable at times but he has shown when he is focused and locked in that he can at least be serviceable and hold his own and then you have Lorie marinin and his size and his length W Carter Jr and then add in Victor wh I just I think that team would be tough so if you could work it out to where you get a three- team deal where you land oh Lori Markin in wo Carter Jr or you’re just trading for them individually to me that’s an absolute no-brainer and you know because again it’s like could you go make another big splash somewhere or something like sure but you’re probably selling quite a bit to go get Lori marketing right you’re probably trading I mean the Jazz want like four first for him and there’s several teams in the market trying to trade for him right now and you have teams like the Warriors who you know they might give up a kaminga or something right so if you’re the Spurs can you kind of throw your hat in the ring kind of sell what you need to sell to to go get marke in and then it’s like okay well what else can you get what team has a piece that makes sense that you could maybe acquire that would fit and and you know they have an abundance of and it’s like oh the Orlando wend Carter Jr right like to me I I just I think if you can pull that off you do it but anyway as The San Antonio Spurs are actively Trying to trade for Lauri Markkanen but with a Markkanen Trade the Spurs should push the chips in more. The Utah Jazz likely won’t want some of the pieces the Spurs will Trade and the Orlando Magic have a stock pile of centers and big men. Spurs, Magic and Jazz could work out a 3 team Trade.
