[Music] we’re back for our third Miami Heat video of the day and this one at least this news is better than Thomas Bryant CU Pat Riley went out and signed Alec Burks to a one-year deal it’s the first exterior free agent the Heat have signed this year cuz the only two previous moves so far were’re resigning Thomas Bryant and Kevin Love but the heat at a shooter if you will who averaged 10 points per game last season on 38% from Deep shot 40% from three over the last three seasons as well on the roster to a one-year deal expected to be the vet Min this is why you subscribed though I have told you time after time after time that when the heat make a move or big rumors pop up we will make a video perfect example today like I said it’s our third of the day who else is doing this make sure you’re subscribe to the channel to be up to date on the latest surrounding the Miami Heat all right Burks has uh been a journeyman in the NBA that is for sure most notably lately of the New York Knicks as the Knicks actually traded for Alec Burks at the deadline this past season in that boan bogdanovich deal as well and Burks is consistent man you can expect the same thing from him on a yearly basis it might be inconsistent during the season at times just asked Nick’s now host Marshall Green but at least on a year-over-year basis he consistently L averages more than 10 points per game and shoots at least better than 38% from three you see the last four seasons in New York and Detroit 41 1/2 40 A2 41 A2 and then 37.6 he’s one of the better three-point shooters in the NBA and to me this just screams extra bench shooting for the Heat and I I really can’t complain about this move you saw me get upset about Thomas Bryant earlier today you saw me even question the two years guaranteed to Kevin Love when they made that move but out of the three signings Pat Riley has made since fre agency is open this is the only one that I really can’t complain about sure there will be inconsistencies throughout the season but assuming this is a vetman deal cuz that’s all Miami can offer and I would be stunned if they offered Alec Burks the not or the taxpaying midlevel which is 5.2 mil if that’s the case then we’ll have to have a different conversation about Alec Burks but assuming it is the vet Min that Miami could only offer then there’s nothing to complain about here cuz how often are you going to be able to get a guy who shoots consistently 38% or better from Beyond The Arc and gives you 10 plus points a game off the bench for the vetman you simply don’t find that that often so to me I do think this is a pretty solid move for what Miami was working with what do you guys think though grade the signing of Alec Burks for the Miami Heat A B C D or F I like I said I felt a little more optimistic about it than some of the other moves so let me know your grades down below Marshall Green told me I had the put the game seven stats against the Indiana Pacers on here and I’m doing it Alec Burks kind of got ran out of the rotation in the postseason for the New York kns last year but due to a lot of injuries he was forced into action down the stretch of that Series against the Indiana Pacers and even though they lost in game seven Alec Burks went absolutely nuclear having 26 points on eight of 13 shooting in two of five from three so I’m not going to ask and expect him to give you this type of production on a daily basis or even on a weekly basis but he does have the capability of being a flamethrower off the Miami Heat bench something that heat needed last year now I don’t want to put on the tin foil hat and I don’t want to make this signing potentially more large than it is but you do have to wonder if this is a signing Pat Riley makes with another move coming in mind and like I mentioned this in my initial tweet which by the way like I always say follow me on Twitter to get the Heat news before we make a video but Alec Burks because he is such a reliable three-point shooter could you feel comfortable having him as your shooting guy and floor spacer and the shooter coming off screens and pin Downs working with bam at a bio and dribble handoffs Off the Bench that Duncan Robinson has been could this be a move forecasted to be a Duncan replacement because they’re going to deal him away and shed his salary to potentially go out and get a demard Rosen I’m not sure and I think it might be a little irresponsible of me to even speculate this but in a vacuum this is a good move I just am trying to believe at least and talk myself into the fact that Miami is going to make a larger upgrade to this team because yes Al Burks is a cool signing I’m okay with it I’m happy about it but this is not a move that is going to elevate the ceiling of the Miami Heat what does this do this keeps them as an eight seed in the Eastern Conference at maybe best and just kind of keeps them getting another piece Off the Bench like they’re not getting any better better with the signing of Alex Burks so to me I still feel like another move is going to have to come and maybe Alex Burks is just depth and a kind of I guess insurance for a Duncan Robinson or Tyler hero leaving because you’re still going to need a three-point shooter that those guys already provide for you and if you moved off of them you would be lacking let me know though who will the Heat sign next is there another free agent out there right now after that signing of Alec Burks that gets them to 13 standard contracts the Heat usually carry 14 which means one more signing could be coming but that number could also dip back down the 12 assuming they wave Orlando Robin since 2.1 million because he has a non-guaranteed contract after you resign Thomas Bryant one thing before I want to we get out of here that I want to know is the agency of Alec Burks some of you might know cuz it is very well documented on heat Twitter that the Heat and Pat Riley do not often strike deals rich with Rich Paul and clutch agency well Alec Burks is a rich or clutch client so could the quote unquote ban or whatever you want to say on Rich Paul clients be over I mean I would hope so I would actually hope this was never a thing I just do find it peculiar that there hasn’t been a signing made for Miami with a clutch agent or that had a clutch Agency for a very long time like I don’t remember exactly offand but it’s been at least like five or six years I’m not kidding so it’s good to see at least Pat Riley signing with a CL a clutch player in the form of Alec Burks but to kind of tie this video up in a bow and we move on here Burks good shooter man um shot pretty well from three last season average 10 points a game like I I I think the addition of Burks will prove to be a beneficial one and I’m just looking on Twitter to see if anything um anything changed over here or any details I don’t see any other details on social media right now but I I am a fan of the vetman it’s confirmed from Anthony Shang of the Miami Herald that is at the vetman you’re just simply not going to find vetman guys that can give you 10 points a game and shoot 38% from three consistently so it is a good move I asked you to grade it earlier I probably grad it at a B+ it’s good value at the vetman I believe he was getting paid what 14 15 mil last season so to get him
