🚨 REPORT: Knicks Trying To Trade For Walker Kessler + LATEST on Re-Signing Precious Achiuwa

the New York Knicks have been linked to two big man via trades we’re going to break that down on today’s video also we have some new information regarding pre situa his free agency and potentially coming back to the New York Knicks before we dive into the latest news and rumors surrounding the New York Knicks subscribe to the channel we put out free videos every single day and we are in a sub battle with Boston Celtics today another NBA channel here at chat sports they’re beating us right now in subscribers picked up this month and I hate the Celtics and I hate losing and I know you do too so if you want free videos every day you hate the Celtics subscribe right now welcome in New York Nicks Now by chat sports I am your host Marshall Green Michael Scot of hoopsy NBA Insider reported that the Knicks are showing interest in Jazz Center Walker Kessler and Hornet Center Nick Richards let’s start with Walker Kessler one of the best young shot shot blockers in the NBA still just 22 years old he will be 23 once the season starts not really sure why Utah is making him available in trades but a lot of NBA insiders says they have he also is someone that played on Team USA with Jaylen Brunson Josh Hart and male Bridges this past summer so maybe there’s relationship there maybe they’ve been talking to him a little bit trying to get him to the New York Knicks but I love the idea of adding a young 23-year-old 7 foot one guy that in two seasons in the NBA is averaging 2.3 blocks per game and I only think he’s going to get better and better he was better as rookie year compared to his sophomore campaign the points per game went down the rebounding went down but overall I think he is someone that could come in whether it’s in a backup roll to Mitchell Robinson or he is the starting center for the New York Knicks it would Elevate their defense to one of the best in the NBA another thing that I like is he hasn’t really been all that injured in his NBA career so far playing 74 games his rookie season and 64 his second season Walker Kessler can be the center of the future for the New York Knicks he can move his feet he’s got soft hands he could finish around the rim is going to get better and we need to get better on the offens event but when you talk about defensive instincts defensive IQ the ability to block shots help on defense switch onto some guards and just be the focal point of a defense he could be that and I think him learning under Tom Tibido could turn him into the one of the best defensive centers in the NBA we could look back five years from now if the New York Knicks pull off a trade for him and say that they got him on a steal of a deal he’s on a cheap contract right now still under team control for two more seasons at less than $5 million so it’ be a great addition but in life in NBA trades you got to give to get you got to spend money to make money and if the Utah Jazz are going to trade Walker Kesler they are going to want a young cheap potential fied player back and maybe even some draft compensation I think that a package starting with Miles McBride is the only thing that the Utah Jazz would want from the New York Knicks and I would hate to trade Duce McBride the evolution in his game the growth the maturation the progress we’ve seen in just the last 12 months cannot be ignored but if I’m trying to go out and trade for a good player I have to get a good player in return this year Deuce really showed that he is a valuable piece not just contract wise and how much he’s being paid but production wise and what he does on the hard would look at the progression his rookie year played in 40 games averaged 2.2 points per game and shot 25% from three then you look at the next year 25 to 29% 2.2 points per game to three and a half points per game and then he became a serviceable player in the NBA this past year 8.3 points per game became a knockdown shooter from three one of the better catch and shoot guards this past year shooting 41% from distance and even in the playoffs I thought he played pretty well um his career playoff averages in 21 games played this year and last year seven points per game shooting 36.6% from three if you’re going to make a trade you got and you want to get back a valuable piece you got to give up a valuable piece you can’t just crack these people over the head every single time you already did it in the Toronto Raptors trade you had to give a lot to get male Bridges I understand that and if you’re dealing with Danny a the head decision maker for the Utah Jazz you’re probably going to have to give up more than you like Danny a does not do trades unless he knows he is winning the trade and you are losing the trade and I’m not sure there’s any losers in this trade but I do think that a would probably want you to attach a couple of second round picks as well to get Walker Kessler good thing the Knicks left the 2024 draft with six second round picks in their back pocket they could use that as currency to sweeten this deal my question of the real ones is would you make this trade a for accept D for decline let me know your thoughts as much as I love Duce McBride this is an easy accept for me not because um I think that Duce McBride’s a bad player in fact I think Duce McBride is a really good player and I think that you’re able to use his contract to get a really good player like Walker Kessler but the main reason outside of getting a player of need and Kesler that plays a position you need to ad add to I’m interested or at least willing to listen to dece McBride trade offers is because where is he going to play next year there’s only 96 Minutes at the point guard in the two guard spot in an NBA game 48 minutes per spot brunson’s playing 35 38 minutes next year male Bridges Tom Tibido knows he’s never missed a game he’s going to run him maybe 40 minutes a night and then Dante nenzo is going to be your first guard Off the Bench he was playing 48 minutes last night hell he almost played 60 minutes in a game last year do we think he’s not going to play a lot even chenzo is going to be close to 25 30 minutes per game so what there’s 12 13 minutes for Miles McBride you just got to look at it with a cleare eye view there’s not all that much opportunity for Deuce next year you do lose something you lose a guy off the bench that can come in and slow down other guards I get that but you’re also adding a center that’s reliable 7′ one 22 years old that could be in 5 years one of the best centers in the NBA I would do the trade I’d be sad to see DUS go but I’d be happy to rudon Walker Kessler as potentially the big guy in the middle of a Tom Tibido defense for the foreseeable future let’s talk about Nick Richards a little bit the big man at of Kentucky 7 foot 245 pounds 26 years old and he had a be he had his best season of his NBA career last year already averaged 9.7 points per game eight rebounds 1.1 blocks and he shot 60 9% from the field he’s got some soft touch around the rim solid player I just think the financials of a trade make it a little bit difficult because Nick Richards makes $5 million per year I’m not trading dece McBride for Nick Richards I’ll trade Duce McBride for Walker Kessler not trading him for Nick Richards so therefore who you trading for him it’s tough and I doubt the Knicks are going to hardcap themselves after trying to unhard cap themselves in this male Bridges trade you could talk about what about a sign and trade for Alec Burks one you would need the Hornets to be willing to accept Alec Burks two you would need Alec Burks willing to go play for the Charlotte Hornets and three you’d have to be okay with the Charlotte Hornets or the Charlotte Hornets would have to be okay with giving Alec Burks a three-year deal there’s a lot of stuff that goes into sign and trades yes you could just say it and technically it could happen it’s not impossible the does does Alec Burks want to end his career on a three year deal playing for the Charlotte Hornets is press toua I’m not so sure Walker Kessler seems like the much more viable option but I’ll leave it up to the audience’s side pick a big man Walker Kessler Nick Richards let me know it’s Walker Kessler it’s not close the way to get a Richards trade done is a little bit more tricky I’m also not willing to give up Deuce for him I’d give up Deuce for Walker Kessler and I think Kessler is a much better player Richards is a bench big Kesler is a starting center that’s what I would do latest on press to you as we close the show Ian Begley of SNY check him out does awesome work he reported that there is interest from several contending teams to sign atua but precious is still open to returning to the Knicks the New York native grew up I believe in the Bronx had his family at almost every game in MSG he’s a New Yorker through and through and it sounded like he really liked playing for the New York Fred cats of the Athletics said this quote one name to watch is prua the unrestricted free agent who filled in admirably as a backup center and power forward for the Knick’s past season New York chose not to extend a qualifying offer to aoua which would have made him a restricted free agent but made that decision probably because it was better for the team’s cap flexibility the Knicks are leaving open the possibility of resigning a cha were a Chua to return he would play behind Robins I thought that was the most important part of that quote he said if AA returns he’s going to be that backup center for Robinson and the New York Knicks they own the bird rights to auua so they can go over uh excuse me they can pay him whatever he needs to be paid because they own his bird rights they just can’t go past that first apron because the bridges trade has not been tweaked it will so you could pay him whatever it takes at this point if it doesn’t affect your salary cap and it keeps you with the non-t taxpayer mid-level exception why would you not resign prua bring him back you need him off the bench he played really well for you and when you had to insert him in the starting lineup wi there was some injuries he played damn well in 18 starts this year for the New York Knicks the guy averaged 13 and 10 with four offensive rebounds two blocks and a steel per game is he undersized a little bit 6′ n does he get bullied a little bit by bigger centers absolutely but I thought he did a damn good job on Joel embiid as well as OG and Obi in that game four when hartenstein essentially got benched and Mitchell Robinson did not play I like the versatility on defense like the dog like the aggression the physicality the shot blocking from the weak side I think he’s only going to get better and better and I think you could run a 54 du of CH and oene and Obi at the same time and be perfectly fine on defense we saw that in game four versus Sixers I would resign a Chua and then I would go give my taxpayer mid-level exception to Kyle Lowry and then I’d also have Walker Kessler on this team if you want the Knicks to resign pressure Thea hit that thumbs up icon let’s speak it into existence like the video if you want to see the big sneeze back in the Big Apple make sure you are following me over on social media I’m on Twitter I’m on IG same handle Marshal green hit me up over there and let’s go Nick [Music]

Marshall’s Take on Walker Kessler:
Walker Kessler can be the center of the future for the Knicks. Tom Thbodeau could turn him into a top defensive center in the NBA.

Fred Katz on Precious Achiuwa:
One name to watch is Precious Achiuwa, the unrestricted free agent who filled in admirably as a backup center and power forward for the Knicks this past season. New York chose not to extend a qualifying offer to Achiuwa, which would have made him a restricted free agent but made that decision purely because it was better for the team’s cap flexibility. The Knicks are leaving open the possibility of re-signing Achiuwa, a league source said. Were Achiuwa to return, he would play behind Robinson.

  1. How about Sims, Diakite and some picks for Richards? Seems like a good trade. Honestly I don't think the Jazz would do us any favor and I guess they got high value for Kessler

  2. Love Duece; but a young Center is more valuable that what Duece brings…that said, Ainge isn’t dumb, and this wouldn’t be enough!

  3. We need to start a Gofund me account to get money for some players. I think we need to get a Center and try and get Miles Bridges as well.

  4. I’d be sad to see McBride go, but if the package is just him and picks for Kessler, I’d do it. Kolek can handle the backup PG spot.

  5. We need a big man. I love Deuce but we need someone to Guard Embid or Giannes. Mitch alone can’t do it! I’ll do the trade and I’ll throw in Simms as well. Kessler Achiuwa and Mitch sound pretty good

  6. I have my doubts about the Knicks acquiring walker Kessler. Danny Ainge is a dick. He’ll ask for too much.

  7. I would 1000% trade Deuce for Walker. I just highly doubt Ainge does the trade, even if we added two 2nd rounders. He won’t trade Kessler.

  8. Tyler Kolek will give us the same offensive output off the BENCH. We don’t need Deuce anymore, it would be lovely to keep him but we NEED a center!!

  9. I like McBride, but we have proven depth at guard. One more piece to add is the # 58 pick , a center who could be great in a few years. Throw in Burks , and that helps the salary cap. Get Achua too, back up for Randle .
