I never thought I’d say this before the year, but I’m quite glad he’s back. He was clearly a very important voice in the lockerroom and the young guys spoke highly about him. You need these kind of vets in the lockerroom. Can’t have 15 guys play in the playoffs anyways and the team right now is deep with contributors.

Marcus?

Odds he comes back on the coaching staff? Dont think we have space for both and I think that’s in his future anyways.

I highly doubt anyone would want Lawson since nobody signed him last year when they had the chance. It’d be nice to squeeze a 2031 2nd rounder from a team that sees potential in him. Either way I am 100% down to waive Lawson and sign on both Morris’s for vet min contracts. We already know Keef is basically a coach and Marcus could actually be valuable behind PJ if/when Maxi deals with injuries

Marcus? Like the Marcus that stepped on Luka’s ankle intentionally in the bubble? Nah, we good bro.

Markieff was a nice vet presence to have when virtually everyone outside of Kyrie was a playoff newbie, but isn’t that part of why we decided to bring Klay in? The Morii are not viable NBA players in 2024. The idea of wasting a roster spot, god forbid two, on them seems like a bad idea.

Pretty much every player spoked highly of him during the year, so I’m glad he’ll be back, clearly has a positive presence.

So Lawson out, Marcus in? Actually wouldn’t mind the Morris brothers on the end of the bench. I doubt he would play much over main rotation guys, but for a guy that fills in when there is an injury I wouldn’t mind.

I think we’re good with one Morris. No need to collect the whole set.
I’m cool with giving Marcus tickets if he wants to hang out though.

One thing I’ve learned from watching House of the Dragon, it’s better to have twins on the same team than on competing teams, that typically doesn’t end well.

I’m becoming more convinced we need a defensive guard as our 15th. I like DSJ, personally. But the idea is when Luka/kai miss some games or just sit, we should have enough offense to make up for playing a stud one-way defensive guard.
Trick there is we have to trust Omax to be playable this year instead of getting an extra 4/5. I also still think there’s enough guard minutes for Hardy to get 15 a game. Klay isn’t going to be guarding guards anymore.

How much weight does his voice carry in the locker room?
“Just as much weight as Luka’s and Kai’s, probably even more because he won a championship,” Tim Hardaway Jr. said. “I think he’s our oldest guy on the team, so he’s been around the block. A lot.”
“It’s great to have that veteran presence, knowing that he’s reading the game from a different point of view. He’s still making that big of an impact, talking to us when we’re coming out of timeouts. Or when we’re on defense in front of our bench. Those little things go a long, long way for us.”
