Talking to some teams tonight and it sounds like what's being worked on now is expanding some of the previously agreed upon trades. There are also talks of tying some deals together into bigger deals.

Essentially, teams are trying to find ways to make mutually beneficial trades.

Probably trying to bring in a third team to absorb some salary to stay under the apron

  2. How would that work? Hasn’t the trade already been agreed on? Sorry I don’t understand how these contracts work

Will see what happens on the 6th. I’m sure the FO is aware of the center situation. Credit them for making this franchise relevant and competitive again. Knicks are in a different place than a year ago with higher expectations.

I do feel the FO is more focused on SG/PG/SF. Knicks have a better bench with the addition of Mikal.

We need some size and length to match teams that do. And a big that can score. Otherwise will have same limiting issues as last season. That is a glaring issue to me.

What has me bothered is how thin and fragile the PF/C positions are right now. And if I have to be honest, it feels like some Deja vu from last season with an abundance of guards and small forwards. If we’re going to contend, cannot afford to have this glaring issue. Remember Taj Gibson had to fill in last season due to team injury problems. Soon he will be close to 40.

Mitch is a great rim protector but rarely plays a full season and has had two ankle surgeries. His offensive game is limited.
Randle is definitely missed but he is also coming off of a dislocated shoulder surgery. Will he be healthy?
Sims has potential but so far can’t be counted to fill the starting position.
Precious is not secured as a backup PF.

I don’t envy the salary cap issue but right now this is a very good but not a contending team unless all remain healthy.

It worries me who else can eventually get drawn into this trade. I also hate this time of year when they state how much money someone is signing for. I can see how this may effect the locker room vibe and cause some issues.

  8. It’s going to be for Sharpe, unless they’re doing voodoo to create more tradeable salary for the future

I just don’t get what Knicks can give up that wouldn’t be painful other than a Precious S&T.

  10. when was the last time an agreed upon trade fell through and the players involved actually played the full season on the team that traded them?
