Utah Jazz Let Kris Dunn LEAVE
the Utah Jazz have officially lost out on reigning Chris Dunn who was honestly the preferred veteran for those guards that they now have amassed across the past two draft classes I believe that he played really well alongside konay George and Keon learned a lot from him Bry sensal also seemed to understand a little bit more of the game from spending time with him and from will Hardy’s statements he seemed to be a really good locker room personality and on the court he refused to allow any of his teammates to get bullied while he was out there he was a dog by all stretch of the imagination and while he did not have the most grandio numbers on the basketball court he was an integral part of this Utah Jazz team over the past two years even if you want to go back to the end of the season where he ended up signing two separate 10-day contracts before securing a two-year deal [Music] [Music] that had to be guaranteed at the beginning of each season Chris Dunn was just a guy that you would love to have on your roster and honestly I felt like he was going to stay with the Utah Jazz for a little bit longer I thought he had earned a significant bump and pay nothing too crazy but even if it was a deal that was two years 10 million you know that’s an upgrade considering the fact that he was making just a little over a million dollars for each year on his most recent contract and at the age of 30 majority of if his career is obviously behind him but he still has a great deal to offer when it comes to veteran leadership he’s still a pretty solid point of attack Defender and honestly I really loved having him on the court and on top of that just being able to be a genuine calm in the storm for a lot of teams and he will be signed and traded from the Utah Jazz to the Clippers which will allow him to amass a little bit more money in his contract because previously if he had just signed with the Clippers out right then they would have had to use part of their mid-level exception or tried to finagle something that would have really given him probably veteran minimum type money and honestly after the past two seasons I think that he’s worth more than that and considering the position that the Clippers are in they can use all the help they can get and I think Chris Dunn while he doesn’t necessarily fill the hole that Paul George Left Behind nor does Derrick Jones Jr I think it gives him a little bit more flexibility to try some different things out particularly since we’re also hearing that Russell Westbrook may eventually get traded while he did end up opting into the final year of his contract that he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers a lot of people believe that he may end up going to a team like the Nuggets who’s lost out on Reggie Jackson who was their backup point guard as well as another piece on the roster seemingly just taking steps back because they lost kavus cwell Pope as well in 88 total appearances for the Utah Jazz Chris dun ended up averaging 7.4 points 4.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds in a little over 20 minutes per match Chris Dunn was originally the fifth pick in the NBA draft back in 2016 and while injuries and other problems tended to be a main state in his career over the past two seasons he’s been very reliable for the Utah Jazz and he kind of cemented his value in the league as it stands and I believe that he did a pretty solid job he was known as being a poor shooter but that was anything but the case for the Utah Jazz in particular because he was able to can 39% of his three-point attempts in total and and while he didn’t take a significant number of shots for himself this year in particular his role was to initiate the offense and show Keon George what it would be to just fill in that Gap and be the floor General while also being literally the greatest point of attack Defender we had on the roster which was sorely lacking on the defensive side of the ball which is why ultimately even after the trade deadline when a lot of the important pieces that got shipped out were gone the Jazz ended up slipping all the way down to 30th in the league for defense of efficiency Chris Dunn is 30 as I stated before and he stands at 6’3 so he’s medium point guard height he averaged 5.4 points 3.8 assists and 2.9 rebounds to go along with the full steal on 47% shooting from the field 37% shooting from three 69% shooting from the free throw line in only 18.9 minutes off of the bench though he will be missed by the Utah Jazz I believe that the Clippers will use him properly because they’re trying to get a little bit younger and A Little Bit Stronger on the defense side of the ball both of which things obviously Derrick Jones Jr but more specifically Chris Dunn provides though he is 30 that’s not in any stretch of the imagination old per se if you are to look forward towards your Stephen Curry’s of the world who have had a lot of mileage a lot of wear and tear he’s 37 so it’s safe to say that Chris dun with his particular play style might last five plus more years in the league and depending on how this contract exactly shakes out because the details haven’t been released in totality yet though we do know it’s supposed to be a multi-year deal I would expect it to be two or three years judging by how the Clippers have been constructing things since this offseason got underway I believe that it’s just going to be mutually beneficial for both parties it’s unfortunate the Utah Jazz did end up losing out on him but I’m under the impression that there’s a specific reason why they allowed him to leave and what is kind of hedging towards is probably since John Collins and Jordan Clarkson are on basically untradeable contracts at the moment I think that they’re probably going to end up burning another year and having both of them on the Rost the entire time because you’re not going to give any team the opport Unity to really make something shake with either those two players but this might actually mean that Colin seon isn’t necessarily on The Chopping Block I know we haven’t really heard his name in too many trade rumors though the Lakers were inquiring about him once the offseason started those have kind of gone under the weather and just slid under the radar since L Markin and’s name has been popping up on everybody’s radar that said I will be having a video shortly coming out regarding the possibility of Li marketing going to the Golden State Warriors of all teams from a reason that was brought to my attention by one of our fellow subscribers on the channel that really just is simple but it comes down to the most important thing which is urgency either way you cut it Chris Dunn has been a important piece for the Utah Jazz culture over the past two years and he has shaped the minds early on of the key rookies that are currently on the roster going into their second year and with any luck they will continue to progress in that way particularly if you are a fan of konay George because we did see flashes of him getting better defense L we saw flashes of his playmaking we saw flashes of him being a little bit less turnover prone we even saw flashes of him just stepping up as a leader in a floor General on the court and I believe that was greatly in due part to Chris Dunn because even going back to the preseason he played the best when he was paired on the court with the man on the floor alongside him so missing the running mate will be a little bit rough because it seemed like they had a really strong bond especially when it came to postgame interviews and stuff like that but I think that Chris dun’s impact will not be lost on this Utah Jazz roster and the Clippers did well to go ahead and try and NAB him and unfortunately Danny a Justin xanic in that front office felt like it was the correct decision to make so for now Utah Jazz faithful hang tight because the ship’s about to get a little bit Rocky but at least we have the summer league to look forward to because that’s basically the entire roster as it stands with that being said thanks for tuning this video it’s your boy R Hoops go and In this video we discuss the Utah Jazz losing Kris Dunn in a sign-and-trade move with the Los Angeles Clippers that would allow for him to receive more money. This comes after he spent slightly over two seasons with the Utah Jazz and served as part of the leader ship core for rookies Keyonte George and Brice Sensabaugh and the 2023-2024 NBA season. He moves forward with hopes of becoming an integral part of the defensive identity that the clippers are hoping to build as they play their first season in their new stadium.

good for Kris. He was one of the guys the sixers were looking at as a backup. Not enough ammo due to big 3 salaries
Dang kinda sucks. But we got collier now
This hurts, I'm disappointed he was too good to let go
the warriors don’t deserve Lauri, we’d get more out of the spurs anyway I hope they come calling or we just keep him
Then they are gonna turn right around be like "hmm, gee, we need a veteran point guard to help KG and Collier grow". And there wont be anyone there. Everyone wants Tyus Jones and hes too good for tankball anyway so the Jazz wont get him. Markelle Fulz? Pff I mean yea I kinda like him for his passing and low turnovers and size but hes also super limited and will cost more than Dunn.
A national NBA audience will finally get to see Kris Dunn play his style of basketball on a nightly basis and especially come playoff time with real HOF vet's in Kawhi & Harden and a slew of Dawgs that the Clippers have on their roster 🔥🦍
Thanks for the video.
Jazz MUST finish year in bottom 6 teams to not risk losing their 2025 1st round draft pick to okc. To that end jazz must unload anyone who would contribute to jazz winning…
Thank you Mr. Dunn. You’re a dawg and deserve to play on a contender.
Good luck to Kris.
This is the Jazz tanking without overtly looking like they are tanking.
Same reasons they moved a player that would have otherwise been stellar with the Franchise, fans and system: Jarred Vanderbilt.
I was so upset when I saw we lost dunn I always viewed him as utahs version of what Marcus smart was for the celtics 🥲
This sucks, I loved Dunn but him getting his bag makes me very happy for him.
He will always have a place in my heart. His story should inspire others to not give up despite the odds
