you and I both gave the Minnesota Timberwolves A+ grades for their draft class as a whole part of that was because they got tan Shannon so late part of it was because they got Rob Dillingham eighth overall when the Spurs originally had the eighth overall pick uh we love Rob we love his entire game everything about him his uh the way he approaches the game the personality the offensive skill he’s just an extremely fun player and he joins a team that’s NBA title ready I think this team wants to compete for an NBA championship next year so do you like this fit for Rob Dillingham with the Timberwolves I I actually don’t like it G I don’t really yeah I love it I love the fit got you I can’t believe you just felt for that Dad Joe I’m so mad I felt for this I know you’re you’re gonna be feeling for that one for a while no I I I honestly love the fit I do because look when you have a player like Rob Dillingham I think the thing that goes wrong is when you try to change players from what they are like I get you want guys to improve you want them to to take steps in their career but I think the best part about Rob Dillingham at least where I where I give Coach C Kentucky credit he just let Rob Dillingham be Rob Dillingham he let him do like what he wanted to do and it worked out I think he can have the ability to do that given who he has around on Minnesota given the defensive prowess that the rest of the team has and also like Mike Conley’s the point the point guard on the team so like I don’t think there’s I think there’s less pressure on him um to do other things while also embracing just being himself and what that could bring to the team so I want to preface this by saying I have not heard a thing about Rob Dillingham being like a bad teammate I think he’s a great teammate he’s a great guy great kid all of this with that said I’m all the way in on this plan until we get to the point where we talk about oh yeah like he’s just going to be able to learn from Mike connley let’s let’s flesh that out can we can we role play bring back a sleepers roleplay situation for a minute sure do you want to be Mike Conley or Rob Dillingham I’ll be Mike Conley I guess okay I’ll be Rob Dillingham can you try to give me some instruction on anything got you so Rob what you’re doing there is you’re going too fast like you’re what you you’re just you’re coming too fast off the screen it’s about bad hey y’all see this [ __ ] y’all see this [ __ ] I pulled yesterday y’all bet bet bet that’s not gonna happen like and I don’t know how much longer Mike Conley’s in the league but like I I and it look it probably is good you do want to surround this guy with vets it’s very similar to ant Edwards when he was young in the league right the story was like we need to surround this guy with winners and vets who can teach him the right ways and I think a Edwards has matured a a ton since he’s been in the league now he’s ready a little a little yeah maybe not enough on the enough Court he’s matured my concern is that Rob Dillingham is like a miniature ant and when you have one ant in the room it works when you surround ant with another ant it gets a little crazy then you have a colony of ants oh God I love this team and fits so much I don’t care what you say the basketball fits special the only other thing I want to say is this um it seems completely intent he’s coming off the bench like the the GM’s talking about we got these guys to change our bench unit basketball-wise I think that works perfectly like these two will be one of the most electric bench units there is it’s going to make the Tim wolves great it helps the team more pointedly than most teams upgraded their roster given this draft class how long until Rob Dillingham gets pissed he’s coming off the bench um he did it the whole season in college but there was a lot of like what’s going on stuff there no I don’t think he’s that pissed I don’t think he’s pissed at all actually no no do you think he’s a long-term bench guy or does he ever start in the NBA he starts in my NBA Mike Conley’s been the Le for 16 years man that’s crazy yeah give it up
