Spurs ‘INTERESTED’ In DeMar Derozan!
guys I was sleep no I was about to go to sleep I’m very sleepy right now um but I did get some news on the Demar Ros and stuff and I I at least want to talk to you guys about it I want some n we having fun yet I’m going to try my I’m I’m going try my I’m going try my best not to fall asleep as as I’m talking okay all right so before we talk about the Dem Mar rozan situation please please article or post that you want me to look at um is that’s what he did I found the source of it and it’s from Barry Jackson and it says Kings have talked to Bulls about D rozan sign and trade per Source Spurs also now another possibility despite D rozan interest in Miami uh heat not in position to give him uh what he’s seeking at this time he will hope opportunity on some player it once arises this summer so um I guess the initial question is this the Spurs in the mix as far as you know interested the the question is do I think Demar or Rosen fits with the San Antonio Spur I do not I I that’s my initi reaction I don’t think that he fits with the Spurs um unless he’s coming off the bench oh there’s my cat I thought you were asleep you were supposed to be the one that was sleep what you doing um unless he’s coming off the bench that’s the only thing that I can think of um but as far as him you know being in the starting lineup I don’t think that that would be a good idea I don’t think that that would be uh conducive a good basketball for us uh especially when we’re still trying to um grow and guys are still trying to learn and everything because I don’t I don’t necessarily think Demar rosan spaces the floor super well at least he did didn’t when he was with us um and it got to a point where obviously when he came there pop was like all right we need you to be a facilitator and he was a really good facilitator but now that we have Chris Paul and we need Castle to to learn um more and we we have Tre Jones obviously coming out the bench as a decent facilitator nowhere near the facilitator to Rosen was that’s pretty pretty decent I just wonder where he would actually fit the only way I am cool with the Rosen coming to the Spurs is if he’s there like short term but right now it’s been reported that he wants a multi-year deal so I don’t know if it will be like a one-year deal he just kind of waits to see if he can be signed again once you know some other things open up for for teams uh but I’m I’m cool with him if he was coming off the bench I don’t know if that’s the case I don’t know where his mind is at uh well I maybe I do know where his mind is at because he wanted to stay with girl you just you just too much you’re just too much come on M come on come on come on come on um I know that he wanted to go back to the Bulls obviously and him going wanting to go back to the Bulls that means he wanted some you know playing time right he wanted to be able to be uh that guy but maybe this is one of D rozan isn’t a guy full of Pride or anything so maybe it is one of those situations where he’s okay uh with taking that that back seat you know roll coming off the bench I I don’t think he has like all the pride in the world but it could also be a situation where hey you want to get some extra you want to get some more money on your way out so you want that playing time with the Spurs for a year so you know you can go somewhere I don’t know I don’t know um but as it stands right now does he fit I personally don’t think that he fits um unless he’s coming off the bench as like a mentor or something and you know we would have to really think about that and see what that looks like um now as far as what I think could possibly also be happening is that the Spurs are talking about you know getting D rozan but as a sign and trade themselves maybe it’s a signing trade facilitating a trade to the kings of some sort maybe the Kings send us over a player and a pick and then we try to use that player and pick or or player I mean or or pick sorry um to the Jazz for marketing that that could be something that’s possibility as well I just I’m my brain just can’t really wrap around D rozan being with us and it making a lot of sense right like he has a really great in between game um but just just not at least when he was with the Spurs man it was we tried to get him to shoot more threes for us and he would just absolutely refuse and he needs the ball in his hands he’s a ball dominant player that’s just the way that he plays uh and I I just don’t think that it it it’s a great fit that that’s my those my initial thoughts okay maybe my thoughts to change uh if he was with the Spurs you know more information would come out on what that role actually looks like but yeah uh no I’m I’m not really I’m not really that in favor of it um but if you guys can explain to me how he cuz I’ve seen some spurs fans be really excited about it I’ve seen some spurs fans be upset about it it um but those of you that are excited about this of that possibility can you explain how he fits because I truly don’t see how he fits um this team right now so anyways I’ll give it you guys later uh I guess my cat’s ready for both of us to go to bed girl Demar was a trooper in his stint in SA and i wouldnt mind if he returned for the right price. Imagine cp3 and demar taking over the game when wemby and the young guns are on the bench.

I love Demar as much as the next guy, but hes a very ball dominant player. I don’t know if that would change with him coming back to San Antonio in a situation where he’s a role player. Also the man is like 35. Just not a great idea imo.

With his athleticism and mid-range game DeMar DeRozan would be a phenomenal readdition to the Spurs if he developed a 3-point shot and defensive ability since his last Spurs stint.

I don't really like Demar in the playoffs. He gets too frustrated, doesn't get back so he can argue with the refs and gets techs.

As much as I’d like all of these guys we’re reportedly interested in (at least in specific scenarios), I am beginning to feel like we’re just getting in the bidding wars to drive the prices up for other teams to get suckered. I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds by the trade deadline
Sign him to a 3 year deal. We dont give up any picks. He is a MASSIVE upgrade from champagne. Castle can come in from the bench learn from paul fill in for derozen at times. Paul leaves, Castle takes over next year. Derozens contract is up just in time when you have to start paying wemby and sochan. We have the hawks picks with a ton more. Use those picks now and start drafting his replacement, so when he leaves we have a guy. It could work i would be for it. Hawks picks are going to be good they are a dumpster fire.

Demar, Cp3 will have a field day because all the attention is on Wemby, i mean am i crazy to think we could make the playin this year???? I mean c'mon DeRozan is 15-20pts a game, CP3 10-15 add in all our youngster's!? This is Brilliant!
Maybe it’s just because I really like DeMar, but I wouldn’t hate this, especially if Keldon is traded. A guy that can just go get you a bucket if needed isn’t a bad option. Definitely not an ideal fit, but I’ve rooted for him before and I wouldn’t be mad about doing so again.
There would definitely be spacing issues, but at least he can be on the perimeter when he doesn’t have the ball and force a guy to cover him due to the threat of him having the ball in open space. If you don’t close out on him he knows exactly how to get to his spots in the mid range, and he can at least hit an open three here and there to keep the defense honest.
I also don’t think that the playmaking will detract from Castle’s ability to develop as a PG. He would have the ball in his hands less when running with the starters, but the second unit would still be wide open for him to be a playmaker. Having a roster chock full of guys that can get 4-5 assists per game is never a bad thing, and somewhat reminds me of the Spurs of a decade ago where anyone on the floor can and will make the extra pass.

I agree with you, he doesn’t fit the timeline for the Spurs, I would want him back if it was a cheap contract and could be a mentor for the team, but he still wants a big role probably and wants big contract and wants the ball
