Statistical model shows Warriors youngsters outplayed Klay last season

Found this interesting, especially GP2 and TJD.

We already know that lol let Klay leave in peace yo 😂

  2. Isn’t this model (RAPTOR) the one that gave Boston like an 87% chance of beating us in the finals while they were down 3-2?

  3. RIPOldAccountF

Old/injured Klay and CP for younger more athletic players is already an upgrade. Now add all the new talent SHEEEESH

Man I was saying this all year and I would jsut get killed by warriors Reddit… replace Klay min with moody and it’s a playoff run. People don’t realize the opportunity costs with high usage bad defense players.

There’s a lot of him being a terrible starting SG but man he was phenomenal as a SF when he came off the bench

  6. Lol this framing is so nasty from them. They’re asking us to take this metric at face value if we’re to believe the premise of their article, which is that the young guys were better than Klay. Okay if we’re to do that then we must accept that GPII was our best player, followed by TJD, CP, and THEN Steph. Not a soul would believe or agree, nor should they, with that. In effect throwing the validity of the entire statistical model out the window. But hey, it fits their preferred narratives that allow them to throw Klay under the bus his way out.

Stay classy and keep kicking a legend on his way out, Warriors media!

Lots of different models, the good ole plus/minus has Klay as one of the very worst on the team. His individual and team net ratings were clearly negative. People have their own individual metrics they support and some out there now take a little bit of everything into perspective in their own models, but at the end of the day, all the public data we do have of last season, graded Klay as a negative.

Amazing journey and run he gave this organization but it’s over, and I think we’re better off.

The rumor is even if klay came back he would be on the bench and they would start pod

  9. CodyCryBabies69

no shit. that’s why they benched his ass

  10. CoffeeOatMilk

It’s crazy how much hate Klay’s been getting compared to someone like Wiggins who had an even worse season last year.

we all saw it, dont need the statistical model

  12. I don’t need a statistical model to tell you the same lol

But bro pissed the Dubs didn’t give him a vibes & nostalgia contract.

  14. DistilledWonder

Mavs thinking they can get a chip now starting a bench player is hilarious

  15. PARDON_howdoyoudo

Its a win win. He was overtaxed here and will be in a better position offensively in dallas. Defense is tough but Lively is a better rim protector than Dray over the next 3 years so that’s a good bet for him. But we needed talent and we got 3 players for 1. Thats a win

  16. SpecialImpossible142

Anyone that watched could see that. The young players bought in and didn’t have as long as leash either.

Can we just let the man go in peace already? Do we really have to tear him down on his way out? Has what he brought to us not worthy of perpetual celebration? I know you didnt write this article. But lets not give things like this air. All it does is what is happening in this thread, everyone hunkering down in their already set positions as more Klay mudslinging occurs.

  18. EquipmentNo9500

This is an idiotic post. GP2’s sample size was small and he’s always injured. TJD is a center so who cares. Moody or Podz would be who you should be compatible g and even they played against more bench players probably.

  19. sh1r0_n3k0

If Moody swap with Klay for the minutes they playing last season, we most likely would be in the playoffs. There’s a lot of questionable for his decision making and shot selection last season
